“Not gonna mention any names”... ... Mentions names. 😂😂 I like this guy. I agree with the dropping and still using the clay bar. You can at least roll it over and use the opposite side once.
Thank you for this video, I know of the two retailer's in which you are referring to, there is only one detailer who says that you do not have to discard the clay bar, so what you are saying has a lot of logic, thank you.
The sheer number of special lotions sold for car cleaning reminds me of something an old fisherman told me. I asked him if lures actually worked. He said "Well...they catch a lot of fishermen!"
Some sensibility. Finally. Own a magnetic grey f150. Does it has scratches absolutely. But it looks great. Cant live in fear. Experience and practical advise, cant beat it. Thx!!!
Dude I hope you know this you have taught me many things throughout the past few years I now have my own Detail shop 2500 Sq ft and business is thriving almost to the point where my competitors are slowly starting to give up because I offer better quality work at a lesser price.
Congratulations on your business mate. I too have been inspired by Darren to start my own business but my insecurities have sabotaged my efforts in the past. People here in Oz 🇦🇺 are not as loyal to their cars like you guys over there. Because of your comment, I just might give it another crack. Thanks for the inspiration 🏆
@@PadmaDorjee hi. Did you start your business? How is it going? I’m doing my own car and am very anxious but getting more confident with practice. I wish you success.
@@denisef1153 Hello. I did but it didn't last long as I couldn't charge enough for the work I did. I detailed a car for 4 days and removed seats and carpets etc. I have OCD in a slight way but it really comes out like that. I wish I had the discipline to know when it was time to just stop.
@@denisef1153 about the anxiety, I too was when I started so taped small areas at a time and experimented like that until I became confident. I hope that helps.
I Clayed my car. Dropped the clay twice. Threw it out like I was told. Then one day as I’m folding the clay and molding it to get a fresh area, I thought “why can stuff remain embedded in the clay but you can’t drop it. Next time I dropped it I just rinsed it. Just didn’t make sense to me.
I don't think the pattern has anything to do with the common advice in point #3. I think it's more because circular scratches are usually more noticeable with most light sources.
Yes but he also stated that doesn't matter because he is always gonna machine buff it after a clay bar and you should never clay bar without machine buffering after
Common statement from high school girls: "Been there done that." Same = clay bar. Hand steamer, 20$ 30$, no closer than 3 inches from the paint and steam and wipe out. Works great on glass.
I have diffrent question I bought a used car that was 2 years old it was in great shape not perfect paint wise but really good I clayed like 2 3 years sho I applied wax intake care the car I wah often use drying aid I wax use sealint care still decent shape hoe often can clay before it's not good for clear coat ? Second unam thinking of getting polishet to co.pund polish paint lightly I will probley not apply any presure see what does but was thinking its large investment make I want cordless polisher for something I am gonna use once a year but I dont trust any detail shops around me to do I feel I'll take better care my car then they will
I really like your videos when you give us real world info. Some of your videos I just can’t watch. Oh your friend Scott in Dallas says the same thing about the clay bar (trash it). Thank you I hope to see more videos like this soon.
Does the first point still apply to us scrawny guys who have arms not even a quarter the size of yours? 😂 Love this video. About to do my first exterior detailing. Clay bar and waxing ... a little nervous but this video has shown me I really shouldn't be. ❤
Your debunking seems not true, you dont also educate. Youre just pure assumption and cant even show some proof. Please backup your assumptions with strong ones. AND DONT MISLEAD PEOPLE.
sure the clay bar will induce some miring, a good smart experienced detailer will try to minimize this. you kinda of lost me, sorry , but I don't remember you talking about applying a fallout/ferris spray prior. so to be clear, you really should be claying the back of the vehicle, and the lower half of the vehicle. not the hood, that you are scratching up with those dangerous bracelets, soon as I saw that...I ended the video.......

Very good vid Darren and keep up the good work. I've really learned a lot. If nothing else. I've learned a lot about the clay bar.

wish i saw this before i clayed my car. it scratch it using a light one but wax made the scratches go away
After the fallout remover is applied can it be used as a clay bar lubricant to save time?
I used iron remover as a lubricant. Worked wonders! Just wear gloves. I didn’t and got a chemical burn. Had to seek medical attention.
Very nice explanation
10:43 that was me 😂😂😂...great video New Subscriber 👍🏽
I'm just curious i have a brand new car wash it every two weeks , do I have to clay to apply a wax by hand

Buffing machines go in a circle motion so people saying the pattern matters is stupid and I bet they finish off with a machine
^^^^^ THIS !!! ^^^
yep... 100%😎👌
Waxing - circular motions are used
All else is up and down or side to side. Depends on what your doing.

a lot of negative stupid comments here... its not rocket science. if you just use your common sense you'll understand what he's saying. good job. 😎
I think my next car will be white.
Pain the ass dealing with a black car lmao

Water is MORE THAN sufficient for clay lube.
