then he went home, did some electrical work, then some plumbing, after changed the roof, sold a house, did some calls and puts on the stock market, and finally ended the day when he saved a man's life after he performed open heart surgery.

This gives new meaning to a built car. There’s no sending it off to a motor shop, having an interior shop put in the interior and a body shop do the paint. Jeff is a Walmart super store of car building. Huge respect for that kind of talent.

Awesome video Jeff! I don't know what spark plugs you're using but I may have a few tips on how to get a little more oomph out of that motor. First I'd try the NGK BPR6ES and precisely gap them all to 1.0mm and I think you'll like them. If you want to try something even more "performance plug" than that, there's an article online called Plugs and Wires Atlantic Z Car Club referring to the NGK ZFR6F-11 which are the extra-projected plugs with the "V-Power" grooves on them that will cheat some extra advance (and extra compression too by virtue of the projected tips). The ZFRs should come with a note of caution though if you have a modified (shaved) head then you have to be mindful the clearance with the top of the pistons on the upstroke. Before the ZFR existed I was running the GR5 on the track which unlike the ZFR are a bit hotter a plug than they should be. Helps with carbon fouling though for people who make too many short drives, excessive idling or stop and go driving. These Datsuns are finicky about plugs and wires and NGK are the way to go generally. Another old hot rodder's trick is to mark the open side of the plug tip on the rear end of the plug, and when you're torquing the plug on the head make sure it's pointing towards the intake valve for a pip better combustion, in theory at least.
Also on keeping or selling the car, for the record Datsun Spirit here in Virginia can build these L-engines out to 120HP/L naturally aspirated which is Ferrari F12/812 level stuff, for ~$11,000 USD. I'm sure you could achieve this down under from the right shop. The shop down there that built the "Green Hornet 240Z" engine look more than capable of such a build. I see guys on racing channels here on UA-cam test lapping some of the fastest cars in the world hitting fast laps in the low 1:40:00s at Laguna Seca and he's pipping high 1:38s, in traffic. In any case whether you ever built it or not, or even whether you kept it or not, it's a selling point to keep in mind if nothing else. These motors are better than most swappers ever realize. Check out "Chris 240z dyno" on UA-cam to see what a guy built in his own garage with a turbo L28ET. If he can do it I wouldn't bet against you that you could do it yourself too as another option. 400HP to the wheels. Don Devendorf's L28 was laying down 700HP to show what these bulletproof engines are truly capable of. Tom Monroe's "How to Rebuild" which I think I remember you have claims they're good for 800HP in the front of the book.
    Really nice work man, congrats!!!

Only if want to specify the model year, we'll call by model-type such as "S30".
And then, because "S30" suggests [Fairlady Z], we rarely bother to call "Z" repeatedly like "S30Z".

I've done about 1/4 of what you just illustrated to my 260z, and dreamed/planned/feared doing the rest. Thank you! This is a great video. With what little experience I have, I know that it takes a great deal of confidence and experience to pay attention to the details the way that you do. :) Loved your wife's involvement, and the video of her driving it too :)

Man, you are an example of a wholesome person; you're humble and super skilled at the same time, but you also set an example for other males out there, that this "activity" isn't just a male dominated spectrum, but can also include and celebrate the companionship of women, as you have so effortlessly displayed by including clips of you working and sharing a laugh with your wife, even having her test drive the car! Awesome stuff and wish you the best!

That was brilliant! Cheers from Alabama. Love that build in 10 mins. Very easy to follow and the camera angles were mint.

Amazing. I don’t leave too many comments on videos but this one was well deserved. You’re multi-talented and that is a beautiful car that turned out better than most shop built cars 👍

It's built to almost exactly what I have envisioned in my mind when I think of a 240,260 or 280Z restomod.....One thing I think would be both functional and good looking is. Some smoked gray polycarbonate headlight covers.
Every time I see a 1980s Z, it reminds me back when I was 13 in 1985....My older brothers 16yr old friend in my small Illinois town "borrowed" an early 80s tan/gold 280zx from some people who were out of town on vacation. He knew where they kept the keys for it in the garage. I was walking down the street on a friday night when he pulled up next to me, in it..... I had no idea at 1st that he had swiped it. We were joyriding for a bit before he admitted where he got it. I figured then was a good idea to get dropped off asap. He somehow managed to not get pulled over & got the car back without a scratch on it. He took the car out on the local country blacktop rd and was pushing the car to max speed. The owner never found out. When he dropped me off. I thought for sure he'd get pulled over for speeding. Plus knowing him, if the cops did try to pull us over. He would have tried to outrun them. It's a miracle the car made it back safe & sound after a crazy 16 yr old kid stole it and pushed it to It's limit one late summer friday night on Cameron blacktop in 1985 outside of Monmouth Illinois.

I just stumbled across your chan looking at sim racing setups. The Porsche was awesome, but the 240Z is my favourite. I own a 1990 240SX and your videos are inspiring. They make want to get out in my garage and get dirty! The Datsun is so sweet!!
