Was just about to post this, but indeed that's why the convertible versions tend to be somewhat heavier. The chassis needs to be stiffened, as it tends to flex more due to the missing roof structure.
Funfact: Cabriolet usually have the same weight or are heavier than their normal coupe counterparts. This is due to the fact that support struts are needed to prevent the frame from twisting/bending. So the new Porsche is pretty spot on. :D
Exactly. The roof is an important structural part of the car similar to bows on bridges. If you cut the roof, you need to compensate this by reinforce the vehicle floor. Due to how geometry is an important part for structural strength and a roofless car can't profit from geometry that much anymore, you need more reinforcing metal in the floor than you would need for a roof. In fact, that's why all racing cars are coupés and even hyper cars as well as all Porsche designed a little bit more for racing are also mostly coupés.
Just thought you should know, the Taigan can also be used to perform bike jumps, and since it holds 10 rounds at once they can be chained together. Tested it myself, and ended up accelerating fast enough to get stuck sideways in a wall, 10/10 transportation.

Maybe I saw that one too, the Kusanagi was my main bike on my first playthrough and I just saw a black one on some random mission a few days ago now on my third playthrough, and yes, it was absolutely great looking. I hope they add some feature to custom some vehicles in the upcoming game
The "Peacekeeper" also has a different exhaust than all the other Kusanagi bikes. It looks like carbon fiber and has dual exhaust ports, 2 on each side. Personally, I'd put it in the S tier as I feel like it's a naked version of the CT3X, and I love naked bikes.
I personally love the addition of another convertible. Especially in the first person perspective, with turned up ray tracing, makes driving through corporate plaza at night a whole different experience.

I found a neat trick to accelerate even faster with the new motorcycle mechanics. If you lean forward while accelerating, you’ll take weight off of the back wheel and allow it to speed up. When you stop leaning the back wheel will push you forward. Not sure how much it helps over the long run but I figured I’d throw it out there in case anyone finds it useful
I really like the kusanagi peacekeeper because it's blue and black, perfect for me. I like this update for the new bikes but i wish we have customization for changing the red kusanagi to black or blue.
My favorite car is still the Riptide "Terrier." Entirely for the style of the roof folding up to enter it, makes me feel like getting in the cockpit of an x-wing. Also the dash looks awesome. I've had this weird relationship with vehicles in 2077, where I started using only bikes due to the handling... and now try to do first person car driving as much as I can for the sheer ambiance. The detail they put into the dashboards of these cars is amazing. For that, the Terrier has a really good field of view with the way the window sits, though the Caliburn has better handling and similar view. Caliburn would win everything if it wasn't for the inability to shoot forwards while driving.
Z3X is still on top for me, although I really like Jackies arch a lot too. The new cabriolet is too tacky imho. What I love about the original, is how it felt like a contrast to the time of 2077, tho I still don't like driving it. Me, I was hoping for a speed daemon MC to rival Caliburn , but in stead I removed CP2077. I want to have the option to revisit the game later, and feel like I still got things I haven't done in game. Thanks for completing the vehicle list Sam
I can imagine if Johnny Silverman went full merk an got the relic instead. How do you think that would turn out. In my opinion it would be more comedic at the start of the game then it becomes a don't meet your hero it only leads to disappointment deal.
Theres a black Yaiba Kusanagi in some NCPD Scanner mission, can't remember exactly, but I guess it was in Westbrook. The closest you can get a black Yaiba is to use that one for a while xD
6:11 I can think of a couple reasons as to why bikes aren’t allowed, 1. Normally they require 2 people in one vehicle, one for driving and the other for shooting at other racers (of course the exception has been given to V due to the fact that V can easily drive and shoot at once which is part of the reason on what brings me to #2) and as we know, none of the bikes in this game have 2 seats, and 2. Bikes are generally harder to race against because bikes are generally a lot faster than most vehicles
Nice little fact about the new Porche's weight: Convertables are generally heavier than the regular roof, as they need to hold enough fabric in an exrra compartment, both of which add weight, as opposed to heavin a regular roof of lighter materials.
Funny thing about the Porsche Cabriolet: I just started playing the game recently, and this was the first vehicle I bought from the Autofixer. Instead of getting a car I got a mission to retrieve it, which made me think all Autofixer purchases are the same hassle so I never bought another vehicle again. "You're lucky I like you" my ass, this is the first interaction we ever had outside from El Capitan introducing themselves. Made no sense when I played the game.
Fun fact, cabriolets in real life are generally heavier than their coupe/sedan counterparts, since the roof actually serves as an important structural member of a vehicle, and removing it necessitates other areas of the frame to be reinforced. Since this is a far less efficient method of stiffening a vehicle's chassis, they weigh more but even still exhibit more chassis flex than the models with roofs. Triangles for the win.
9:30 despite not having a roof the car has to be fitted with a more reinforced chassis to support the convertible feature, therefore making the car heavier
Damn, I still hope there would be patch with more stockalike car variants and two more Apolos (one with that sleek hood and dual lights that Pablo Jumper had, one with all the transport boxes that Altecaldos use)... I want me some base Merrimac, some Mackinaw Larimore, a Shion Targa, a non-rallye Quartz, a solar-powered non-widebody Hella, a pre-facelift Maimai, a junker/drift missile Maimai, a non-widebody Deleon, a clean sporty GA32 Galena, a non-stripped-down Supron, a non-riced Hozouki, a base-eddition Riptide (with those 70's Dodge Challenger-ish rear lights), a Caliburn without aftermarket wheels, an Aerondight with mesh concave wheels, a Alvarado with mesh wheels... Cars that I already see on the streets of Night City in trafic but ones that I am unable to get...
The Porche's weight, thats actually rather common for convertible versions of cars to be heavier. They require more rigidity in the chassis to make up for the lost rigidity of not having a solid roof, the added weight of that is more then whats lost by removing the roof.
I have a good video for you Sam: Guaranteed basic 5++ Melee weapons with 2 empty slots. Right now it's impossible in game to save scum one because the rarity always changes, but NCPD scanner hustles ALWAYS drop the same ITEM and it will ALWAYS have a set rarity based on your level. Theres a scanner hustle with 2 punk knives in north east rancho coranado, a few minutes of save scumming you can get a 5++ punk knife with 2 mod slots. Huge for someone on PS5 or Xbox that can't mod. I'm sure theres a scanner hustle with a guaranteed Katana drop somewhere.
The cabriolet being heavier makes sense because the lack of a solid roof meant the other parts of the car need to be strengthened in order to maintain its rigidity. You see that all the time in real life cars, Porsches included.
9:33 but a hefty amount of chassis strengthening. You see, convertibles that are not designed from the ground up as such will lose a lot of structural integrity upon the removal of the roof, which needs to be compensated for by stiffening the chassis and bodywork (often through running extra cross bracing in the floor, or the doors. The weight of those reinforcements is sufficient that most convertible versions of fixed roof models are in fact heavier (and in the past a lot softer and more wallowy).
@@metadata4255 Not a good way to start a comment full of misreading what I have said and being factually incorrect. First - the MX5 or Miata is designed from the ground up as a Roadster. It is built in a way that doesn’t require additional strengthening being put in, because it never was meant to have a fixed roof to begin with. Furthermore it is a roadster. Characterised by having only two seats, and being meant to be driven predominantly with the roof down. That is a different type of car altogether. Plus, it’s very small. Not a lot of area that hangs freely between the wheels, which naturally aids structural integrity. Second - the RX8 is a four door (2+2 door actually) Coupé with more space for passengers and luggage, and it’s geared more towards everyday driving and the compromises that entails. (More luxuries like air conditioning, sound dampening, electronics… Few weight saving measures) And if you meant to write RX7, which would make a lot more sense, that is its own platform as well. It never had a convertible version and was meant to compete against front engined sports cars of its time, for example the Porsche 944. And it is exactly in the required weight class for that. Take a Bentley Continental for example. That one was designed as a Coupé first, and only after was given a convertible version. As a result the convertible is around 130-200kg heavier than the fixed roof variant. It has a long wheelbase which requires additional bracing so it doesn’t flex as much, and also doesn’t just straight up break in half. An MX5 is the complete opposite in every way. Plus it doesn’t have a mechanism to raise the roof, or a very small one in the newer models, and the old ones lack additional bracing in the roof to make it secure in the event of a rollover. To summarise… please read my comment again (and thoroughly), it is factually correct. Also let me know if it is an RX8 or RX7 (both excellent choices, I love those, and I love MX5s as well!).
Convertibles are always heavier than the standard model as the frame/chassis has to be stronger due to less structural integrity since there's being no roof.
The cabriolet is heavier for a reason like how the actual Porsche 930 Targa and Cabrio are heavier than the coupe and that actually goes the same ways for all cabrios. Due to lacking a solid roof, there's no connecting pillars to the actual chassis like a normal car thru A, B or sometimes C-pillars so to remedy that, carmakers had to strengthen the core of the chassis by running more bars to prevent twisting and chassis flex due to the lack of a structural support now. That in return increases weight for almost every cabriolet in the market against their coupe counterpart, same goes to the 930 Cabriolet here.
9:33 Convertible versions of cars will be heavier than the roofed versions of cars because the body of convertibles have to be reinforced to deal with the lack of a roof which would provide structural rigidity.
Drop tops are heavier, because they need braces to make them as sturdy/rigid as cars with roofs. The body is compromised when you remove the roof. I wish we could get the murdered out Kusanagi from the scanner hustle in the parking building near Judy's.
convertibles are almost always heavier, they dont lack a roof and require the same crash testing and roll over tests the roof just moves which means more parts and motors to move the parts in most cases, so i cant think of a case where they're lighter, hard top convertibles like the miata that you remove by hand will be the lightest of convertibles but even still the mechanism to lock the roof in is going to weight more then if it wasnt there
Convertibles are heavier than cars with a roof because it is a structural component, without it the thing needs reinforcements on its sides and bottom, where it is the least efficient to do so in regards to the stresses that they are trying to reinforce to.
I think some futuristic dystopian M.C. type raised handle bars, crazy design, long front forks, straight arms gripping the handlebars, etc would be SICK.
So Cabriolet's tend to be heavier due to minor frame restructuring and the fact that a Cabrio's roof usually folds mechanically requiring additional substructures
The Porsche Cabriolet is such a cool addition to the game. Its a performance car that lets you see your character and the handling of the Porsches in this game is top tier so when driving around in the city it has nearly replaced bikes for me. Also as someone who has just started a new playthrough you can buy it as early as the start of Act 2! Which means unlike Johnny's Porsche you can enjoy it for the majority of your playthrough if your willing to cough up $75,000 for it.
Cabrio porche or any cabrio version of any car is heavier than the regular one because the base of cabriolets is reinforced with thicker steel for structural purposes because they got no roof.
I started my third playthrough about a couple of weeks ago, and while looking at the Autofixer, my eyes went straight to that motorcycle because of its beautiful appearance. I bought it, and it's truly A PLEASURE to move around NC on it, the best bike for an environment like the predominant one in the game
Man I just realized I'm not subbed to the channel and felt terrible 😅 I'm not one to sub to everything but this dudes been making quality cyberpunk content for as long as I can remember the game being released. My bad brother 😂
I love the cars in this game, but let's be honest, the best way to get around NC is on bikes, and in this regard, by far, the Brennan Apollo 'urban' listed here was the best among them. I don't have chaotic driving like shown in the video, and Night City is NOT a racetrack; you need something fast and manageable, with good braking and stable in tight corners at relatively high speeds. I think the one that best encompasses all of that in terms of practicality is that Brennan. Besides, for me personally, it has the best design and color combination among the bikes we can use. When I saw it listed at Autofixer, my eyes went straight to that bike, and it has an excellent price 👌👌
Spent nearly 500 hours in this game and oh my god if u havent made this video i never would have known that there is a 2nd porsche holy sht, most of my cars nowadays come from mods so i barely ever go to autofixer, well certainly i had no idea they would add more cars/bikes to the game, wow just wow awesome 😂
Man, the bike stunts are awesome but feels moot considering there's so little oppurtunites to get decent airtime on a bike. There are hardly any ramps in the game besides some staircases that are to line up at high speeds.
I haven’t played since the new patch dropped but my god will that Nazare Racer pair well with the errata and my favorite fashion in the game. Even better than Jackie’s, maybe. Although the Valentino style does help it come off more punk.
Guess they made it like actual drop tops... need more structure in the sides and undercarriage bc no b, or c pillars. So drop tops will be heavier than their roof counterparts.
Interesting observation, the colour scheme for the Porsche seems to be an inversion of the Joest Racing New Man Porsche 956/962 Le Mans winners from the mid 1980's.
Oh if ye did not know they added 10 iconic weapons of a form to 2.1 from the air drops or form the illegal weapon vender in Dogtown you can buy or get the Amazon weapons for all players, and There is also 3 new X-mod 2 weapons one is a claw melee on top of the black pyramid building that Hands is at, behind before said building there is a crashed helicopter that ye need 10 body to get a LMG MA70 x-mod, also the building east of the black sapphire on the second level there is a small cramped path that leads to a room that has an Achilles x-mod2 weapon gold, and last near the dam in Aroyyo there is a guy up there with a black version of the weapon from venus and furs weapon, but it is the BFM 9000. I hope this helps.
I finished the game, then selected "one more gig' and upon reloading I got a call from Ashlay offering me the car from the twin netrunner quest. I haven't done her job yet, but it does seem like there's 1 more vehicle added from Phantom Liberty. Ah, I see it on B-tier. so this was phantom liberty and your vid was 2.1 added. my bad.,
They gave us different looking bikes with identical stats instead of vehicle transmog skins. I don't mind that we can't put a rocket launcher or a sentry gun on the Murkman Mobile but it would be nice if we can access different skins per car.
Cabriolets almost always weigh more than their hard top counterparts due to the roof folding mechanisms and increased lower chassis stiffening to compensate for the loss of structural integrity from the roof. Also its pronounced Cab-Ree-Oh-Lay. Its not a ravioli lol
In my game the new Porsche has no sound at all. No engine noise, radio doesn't work, even closing the door has no sound at all. All other audio from the game sounds very quiet when I'm driving the 911 which makes no sense since it's a convertible.
I have a question. I’m playing cyberpunk 2.1 without phantom liberty dlc installed. Besides the obvious new story/location/items etc, am I missing out on any mechanics that are phantom liberty exclusive?
The Relic skill tree is PL exclusive which offers some cool new abilities. Also the car thefts. There might be some other stuff but those spring to mind
After watching all your cars ranked videos, I feel I should say a thing or two about a factor I believe you didn't take in account: handling. Since I'm a very bad driver in this game (and in general, since I kinda suck at driving games in general), handling is a thing I normally consider at choosing a car in CP2077. That said, I have a strong soft spot for two cars you ranked low: Colby C125 and Villefort Columbus. Sure, they aren't the fastest or coolest looking cars, but they are one of easiest in handling on turning or tight spots like passing between two moving cars.. They're almost as good as Johnny's Porsche in that regard. I think you should reanalysis the whole list, since handling can change a lot of cars spot on your lists.
Here is an idea for a vid, (Choo2, What is it, who makes it, who sells it.) I'm sure many players see it and go ???. - It's a fuel, Alcohol made from fermenting edible GMO sugary wheat. - The GMO patent is owned & licensed by an Agrochemical biotechnology corporation called Biotechnica. - Petrochem has a special almost monopolistic license to distribute Choo2. And has nearly a complete monopoly on pumping stations (At least in night city.) More than half of all Choo2 is sold by Petrochem. & it's license is renewed every 5 yrs. Where other Distributors/growers have to renew their license each year. - I think... My memory may be fuzzy on it. & things may be different in 2077 vs 2020.
I know i am really late to comment on this video, but i genuinely wanted to know what is the car that Takemura drives in the beginning of the game, when he finds us in the junk and kills Dexter that lead him to us. It had no roof too.
This guy is gonna end up making a scanner hustle ranking
The last ranking will surely be junk items.
I dunno about all that but I wonder if there's enough clothes with stats for them to do a video
@@creepyto440ss6”indeed, the guitar pick is one of the more iconic of the junk items and, as such, has earned the 7th spot on the list”

Makes sense that the Porsche is a little heavier, since convertibles usually need a reinforced chassis to make up for the lack of a roof

Arch nazare racer is the closest looking bike to Pattinson's batbike. Kusanagi is more Bale's or Affleck's batbike model.
I can imagine if Johnny Silverman went full merk an got the relic instead. How do you think that would turn out. In my opinion it would be more comedic at the start of the game then it becomes a don't meet your hero it only leads to disappointment deal.
If only the Peacekeeper came in black... If only we had customization 😢
Theres a black Yaiba Kusanagi in some NCPD Scanner mission, can't remember exactly, but I guess it was in Westbrook. The closest you can get a black Yaiba is to use that one for a while xD
David Yellow Jacket will combine amazingly with that new Porsche
Tried it and it fit like a glove. Made me think this would have been his car had things played differently...
Peacekeeper all the way, pair it with the iconic NCPD jacket, V's pants, combat boots and the silver raybans and you can RP bad cop all day.
I'm going to love the Kobold! Thank you :)
Also a bike is alot smaller and nimbler than a giant ass car, you'd have an advantage since you are harder to hit.
My favourite Cyberpunk vreator rn
Nice little fact about the new Porche's weight:
Convertables are generally heavier than the regular roof, as they need to hold enough fabric in an exrra compartment, both of which add weight, as opposed to heavin a regular roof of lighter materials.
I really like that white Apollo I just wish they had upped the cost and horsepower a bit. Black and blue Kusanagi is 👌🏼
Funny thing about the Porsche Cabriolet: I just started playing the game recently, and this was the first vehicle I bought from the Autofixer.
Bro 😂😂I’m begging you every time I see you dropped a video I feel hyped please do a rifle ranking haha
Jackie’s Arch is my GOAT Bike. I do like the new ones though. The Nazare and Peacekeeper are my favorite.
The sounds are important too
The Nazare is my new fave; especially with the red headlight.
Honestly as much as I love the new bikes I was kind of hoping for another caliburn variant or rayfield vehicle. By far my favorite manufacturer.
Excellent ranking, thank you Sam, 👍👍👍
Thank you John!
You see that all the time in real life cars, Porsches included.
i absolutely love the peacekeeper, best bike ngl
9:33 but a hefty amount of chassis strengthening.
You see, convertibles that are not designed from the ground up as such will lose a lot of structural integrity upon the removal of the roof, which needs to be compensated for by stiffening the chassis and bodywork (often through running extra cross bracing in the floor, or the doors.
The weight of those reinforcements is sufficient that most convertible versions of fixed roof models are in fact heavier (and in the past a lot softer and more wallowy).
you don't know what you're talking about lol my miata is way lighter then my friends rx8 and thats literally a hardtop miata
(More luxuries like air conditioning, sound dampening, electronics… Few weight saving measures)
And if you meant to write RX7, which would make a lot more sense, that is its own platform as well.
I regularly switch between the CT3X and the Peacekeeper bikes mainly because I like both equally.
Drop tops are heavier, because they need braces to make them as sturdy/rigid as cars with roofs. The body is compromised when you remove the roof.
I wish we could get the murdered out Kusanagi from the scanner hustle in the parking building near Judy's.
I wanted a black akira but I guess I'll go with the other for my Ghost Rider look :)
Pleasseeeee release another lore video soon. Definitely my favorite content of yours. Plus no one else does it the way you do
Happy 3 year anniversary chooms
This guy is awesome in all reality. Most people cant articulate little details clearly enough to listen to. Hes awesome for baldurs gate also.
Most of cabriolet cars are a litle bit heavier since they need to stiffen the chassi.
convertibles are almost always heavier, they dont lack a roof and require the same crash testing and roll over tests the roof just moves which means more parts and motors to move the parts in most cases, so i cant think of a case where they're lighter, hard top convertibles like the miata that you remove by hand will be the lightest of convertibles but even still the mechanism to lock the roof in is going to weight more then if it wasnt there
Convertibles are heavier than cars with a roof because it is a structural component, without it the thing needs reinforcements on its sides and bottom, where it is the least efficient to do so in regards to the stresses that they are trying to reinforce to.
How about ranking vehicles that are no obtainable, trucks for example
I think some futuristic dystopian M.C. type raised handle bars, crazy design, long front forks, straight arms gripping the handlebars, etc would be SICK.
Do I see Quickybaby style Tier Table? Like it! Like you vids and style too! Subscribed!
So Cabriolet's tend to be heavier due to minor frame restructuring and the fact that a Cabrio's roof usually folds mechanically requiring additional substructures
The thing of the cabriolet being heavier is the roof, needing mechanical engines to move the tarp roof, that's why it's a tad heavier!
Did you consider making a subjective tierlist of radio stations?
Yes. I will. Somewhen :)
6:19 I guess the previous owner was a NUSA Air Force veteran, you can see the Air Force rondel below the handlebars.
Cabrio porche or any cabrio version of any car is heavier than the regular one because the base of cabriolets is reinforced with thicker steel for structural purposes because they got no roof.
The Apollo Sport is by far the best handling vehicle in the game.
I started my third playthrough about a couple of weeks ago, and while looking at the Autofixer, my eyes went straight to that motorcycle because of its beautiful appearance. I bought it, and it's truly A PLEASURE to move around NC on it, the best bike for an environment like the predominant one in the game
I like the Peacekeeper's sound a lot more than the basic Kusanagi's, it's so much less noisy but still has that power racer bike's feel to it
Which is least noisy motorcycle?
Do we have silent electric motorcycles?
I use the Peacekeeper along with the Crimestopper to role play a cop. Badge set is a must.
I’m still tear assing Night City in my Quartz Specter. Only downside is the kickback in the exhaust, but it’s fast, agile, and has guns!
Man I just realized I'm not subbed to the channel and felt terrible 😅 I'm not one to sub to everything but this dudes been making quality cyberpunk content for as long as I can remember the game being released. My bad brother 😂
Can someone please tell me how the jacket at 4:55 is called, the LED strips look so sick and I want it so bad
Hmm. My bikes wheels are not glowing. Why?
Press 'V' on keyboard. Not sure about controllers
@@SamBrampress left (not hold) on the D-pad
Thank you!@@SamBram
Man I did the same thing with the Errata. Looks incredible, especially at night.
The tall backrests are bosozoku notes, a japanese custom motorcycle style
Armed outlaw from El Capitan is one of my go tos now after the Arasaka med truck mission
Subbed. Please make a ranking of all motorcycles with 0-60s. 🙂
The Porsche is also the best looking car that is really easy to drive in 1st person view in the game.
Please do an unobtainable vehicles tier list! Like the larger trucks, Basalisk, and NCPD vehicles.
I still say they dropped the ball on the Akira bike. You're supposed to sit BACK on it with legs forward, not lean forward like a regular bike.
"Surprisingly heavier despite not having a roof"
You know what happens to a car's chassis when you just hack off its roof without reinforcing it?
the Kusanagi is a reference to the Series "Ghost in the Shell" referencing Motoko Kusanagi, the main protagonist
I always thought the Corvette would be a better fit for Johnny silverhand than the 911 ever was
I finished the game, then selected "one more gig' and upon reloading I got a call from Ashlay offering me the car from the twin netrunner quest. I haven't done her job yet, but it does seem like there's 1 more vehicle added from Phantom Liberty. Ah, I see it on B-tier. so this was phantom liberty and your vid was 2.1 added. my bad.,
I'd say the next ranking should be finishers but they don't seem to work quite right now.
The roundness of the rim on the Porsche is low, noticed it the pre update footage also
I think the Apollo 650 S is an hommage to Tetsuo's bike from the 1988 anime movie, Akira
thats mostly the red Yaiba Kusanagi
I wish they would've added the pink & blue Kusanagi you can find at the Phantom Of Night City cyberpsycho sighting.
What’s that jacket with the glowing stripe? I’m new to the game so it could be something super obvious that everyone has, but I haven’t seen it yet
