I would much rather not worship an evil attention addicted deity
Agreed. Cyberpunk may not be the best from an objective standpoint, its gameplay is nothing that innovative at all. But the narrative that is driven through the characters, the world, lore, soundtrack, etc. just makes for an incredible experience. Definitely a game for the ages.
I firmly believe that nothing beats the vibes you get from walking in Night City! It’s so immersive and the portable radioport makes it even better now!
depends on what immersion you like, for me nothing beats the immersion i get from playing metro exodus when it starts raining, its so realistic, its crazy how that game from 2019 still is the best realistic looking game today, hoping stalker 2 delivers similar vibes
If cyberpunk would have launched in this state, I firmly believe that it would have been thought of as one of the greatest games of all time. I played it when they first "fixed" it around the time the anime released and I thought it was amazing then. I can't wait to jump back in and play the dlc. I never would have thought at launch that this game would ever come this far, props to cdpr, better late than never.
Linear story where decisions don't matter and lifeless NPCs where you can't interact with them really or the world you're in, but the game is pretty to look at! Lol get outta here...
@bobjoe5937 what do people mean by decisions that matter? Because there are quite a few different endings and outcomes to quests and you and you can tackle missions in different orders and approach them differently depending chosen build.
@@bobjoe5937 Just because a story is linear doesn't mean the story is bad and the random NPCs sure, but why would you even want to do that you can't do that in most games and no one mentions this there.
I'm one of those people. I almost bought it a few days after release 3 years ago but not only my PC was far weaker back then but also the gameplay seemed very lackluster. Now I'm playing it after patch 2.1 and I didn't have this much fun in a game since Elden Ring.
7:50 - Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut A major criticism of the original game was, all of the choices you made for how to play (stealth; tactical; pacifist; guns-blazing) went out the window when you reached a boss, with every encounter being a shoot-out. They redesigned pretty much every boss in the Director's Cut to allow for a variety of approaches. I don't remember them changing them *much*, but the effort was definitely there.
I am one of those people who did really enjoy the game and then simply gave up after the very first boss fight. I can’t stress enough how disappointed I was… It killed the whole experience for me.
@@Dismas07 I enjoyed the game initially, but the boss fights were definitely an anti-climax to each act. They weren't even particularly bad, in my opinion - a cathartic break from all the brain work that led up to them - but I can't deny they were the antithesis of what a boss fight should be. They should be the culmination of everything you've learned leading up to them, not a mindless break from it.
What turned me off from Deus Ex: HR was how the game rewarded stealth/non-lethal playthroughs much more than it did any other playstyle. The game basically punished your for not playing the "right" way while selling you on playstyle freedom.
Im a late adopter to cyberpunk, partly due to mainly being more of a sim racer in my older years, but also due to the launch issue. I finally bit the bullet and purchased it on sale when phantom liberty dropped. This is now up there with my all time favorite games. Job well done CDPR.
Can you screw around in the world map or are your options limited? Just want an immersive open world game, meaning play for 500 hours without touching the story
@@medalgearsalad1419you’re restricted to the Watson area of the city until a certain critical point in the story early on. Watson is by no means small and there’s plenty of stuff to do in it, but after that story moment the entire map opens up to run around in to your heart’s content. The Phantom Liberty DLC is locked behind further story progression, but the game does a good job of letting you know how close you are to opening it
I wish this was the state I bought the game but I "just had to have it" at launch lol. This game is leaps and bounds better than what it was before. I'm honestly baffled how this is even the same game
One small feature in this update that makes a huge difference for me is that the different gangs will pursue you randomly through out the game depending on how you dealt with them during missions and gigs. Basically like a quasi Nemesis system ( like Shadow of Mordor) where the unique gangs remember you , and I think that’s pretty dope
@@Yosemite_sam694 Taken directly from the patch notes from CDPR website: “V can now be pursued by gangs after taking an aggressive approach toward them during certain gigs and main quests.” Troll somewhere else goofball
@@Yosemite_sam694it does though, was added with the patch. What happens is in certain gigs going in violently causes gangers at a later point chase you when you are driving and attempt to run you off the road.. later on I had some arasaka agents try to kill me for kidnapping hanako
I think the long wait for me, was just the right way to go. When it first launched, I saw numerous UA-camrs out there, running into an enormous amount of bugs. Therefore, it was rushed through. I remember a car launching from the sky out of nowhere. Now with all its improvements and bugs finalized, now I can say it’s a great game. CD knocked it out of the ball park . I’m definitely loving it.
I wish Evelyn hadnt died. I quite liked her character, mysterious enough to upset me when they killed her off and in a very very sad but reality checking way
no random encounters, no factions creating payback, almost exclusively linear choice missions, no wall running, mediocre cop system, npcs do not have daily schedules, life paths still meaningless outside tutorial. Other than that, you're right
Nothing in my entire gaming life has peaked playing this game in VR with mods. The world just feels so big, it makes you appreciate details in the world even more.
When 2.0 dropped I started my 4th playthrough. 600 hours of play time, still haven't started the DLC and now there's another big update. Man I love this game.
Hearing Luke praise Cyberpunk after all the flak he gave early on (deservedly so) warms my heart since this game has gone on to become one of my favorite games of all time
The same mediocre game, slightly polished... but CDPR paid a lot of shills, and now sheeple follow shills as usual and compete who is going go be the best simp.
They earned all the praise, defintely one of the best open world RPGs out there, and I'm very elitist and critical of most games that are open world or RPGs
@@bdleo300 sounds like someone bought it at launch and is still salty. Well for people that never preorder and wait to buy until the word is out, on e the game was fixed and on sale for 16 dollars I imo got the best 16 dollar game I'll ever get. If you consider this with the dlc to be mediocre than what game in this genre do you think is good? Have fun playing star field , and every mediocre game like it cause if you think cyberpunk is mediocre you deserve starfield and all Ubisoft open world games for the rest of your life. The Avatar game is probably mind blowing to you. Lol
CDPR had lost a lot of goodwill when Cyberpunk launched, but lately they've bought it back with a cherry on top. I'm proud of their commitement to their customers. An example in the industry.
Lmao. No. I still won’t buy a single thing from them at launch. They’ve lost all goodwill. If the game was half off with DLC for free, id say they were building goodwill. But they charged and yes, the game feels great BUT that’s how the game should have released.
Next witcher will destroy all games we currently right now. Even GTA 6 will have a hard time. because now they are using Unreal Engine 5 and have more support and backing. It is too risky to make your own engine. Unreal Engine 5 is leaps and bound better than most engine today with the amount of you can do without sacrificing too much with the Graphics part. Cyberpunk failed at launch because they are USING A ENGINE only people behind it can fix. With Unreal ENgine 5 it have a lot of support and community support if you got a problem. REDENGINE? you are fcked if somethings go wrong no third party support can help you. You are on your own.
@@Katniss0000 I'm pretty sure even the greediest corpos from the company realized by now that releasing a game that is not finished is not the way to go. Also, CP was a new entry, Witcher is their signature series and I don't think they can afford to mess it up, especially considering next year it will mark the 10 years anniversary or the last entry in the series, or every game that they will release in the future would be looked like "yeah, this is going to be playable 2 years after launch".
Imagine if they launched the game in this state back in 2020, how this game would be considered by many one of the best game of all time. CDProject could have been one of the best gaming studios ever
I still think it is. Some people just cannot get over the launch but they don’t understand, investors were going to pull all money from CDPR because they were tired of waiting like 10 years for this game. If CDPR didn’t release something and get money flowing into the company they would have collapsed. It is not the devs fault as it almost never is (mmm except for Bethesda recently since zenimax has always let them have completely free reign) the devs absolutely wanted to wait until the game was finished and were crushed by the release and how they were forced into it. Company completely fails or some bad rep and then buckling down and fixing it. That was the choice presented. I think the answer is obvious.
@@johnjohnson7259CDPR's investor call at the time contradicts this. There was no pressure from investors. I recommend listening to the calls if you have time to waste, I don't know why but it's adorable hearing the investors wondering if it will work on their PS4s.
I was hyped by this game like 3 years before release. On release I only had a PS4 and even though I enjoyed the game, it was sooooo far off what they promised and it was disapointing. Well guess who bought a PS5 yesterday. And now 6 years after being hyped for the game, I can actually play the game I expected to play. Buzzing
I had an OG, original release ps4 to play CP2077 on. Outside of a couple crashes, the game ran fine for me. Maybe I got lucky, but playing it on a PC? Chef’s fucking kiss.
You gotta love the fact that Watchdogs had an actual seamless metro system with free movement and going in and out But I guess Ubisoft had the long lost coding magicians working for them back in the days
I think this also shows how much old-gen consoles were holding the game back. In the Red Streams for update 2.1, the devs were asked why implement these features only now? And I don't wanna put words into someone else's mouth, but the dev answered kind of in a round-about way, and I interpreted it as "well, it's only possible now that we've dropped support for old-gen consoles", but of course she couldn't say that straight up.
Yup. Game should always have been a current gen game. Previous gen consoles held it back from the beginning and were the bulk of the problematic launch. PC and current gen consoles certainly had their share of bugs and such at launch but nothing like the shit show that the launch was on the older consoles. If they canned those early in the dev cycle and focused those resources on polishing the game for PC and current gen the launch would have been a lot smoother and saved them a lot of flak.

@@Physics072 You know how RPGs work right? At the ending of the game the character I cared most about was Judy, so I chose the ending where my character could stay together with her, since I figured that would be what V would want at that point in the story if they were a real person. Having emotional attachment to a videogame character is different from thinking it's a real person or worse trying to fill a hole in your real life with a virtual character. If you don't feel a little sting when you have to make your choice at the ending, or when friends of V die, why are you even playing a character driven game?
@@the_beemer I own Cyberpunk and did play it some. I just can't get into that game. I like other games far better, Tomb Raider, Dooms, Titan Fall 2, Far Cry 1, Halo, Halo Infinite solo, Plants vs Zombies, Fear, Crysis, Talos Principle 2. Serious Sams, Cyberpunk is so so for me, Red Dead 2 is so so as well. Just not my cup of tea.
@@Physics072 Maybe thats it. I cant speak to the games you played. Only ones Ive touched were Far Cry 1 and PvZ but safe to say theyre not emotion or character driven. CP77 and RDR2 are. Exploring the Stories of humans in this dystopian settings gripped me so hard I finished my first playthrough over the holidays. And just like how people hope for a happy ending for book and movie characters I was emotionally attached to certain characters, mainly Judy, one of the romances. Spoilers: At a point in the story you try to save her best friend, she has been tortured and raped, you find her and she is in a comatose state. Judy gives her all and in the end said best friend kills herself the first time Judy leaves her for a few hours. After that moment I just wanted to be there for that poor girl and to me the game became a story about the main character V and Judy wanting a happy ending together The extended romamce options make that pretty satisfying bc it will feel realistic how she will text you, ask you on dates etc. I think thats just really goos writing and no weird "Sweaty gamer simps over virtual video game girlfriend". Its just a sweet character you want a good ending for and thats what many play video games for while I assume you play more for gameplay and action
Thats pretty cool i like when devs keep working on their games Baldurs Gate 3 has had 5 patches so far. And calling them patches is such a disservice. For instance, patch 5 added 3k+ new lines of dialogue, a completely new end of game feast that unites your party with all the survivors of your campaign, and the feast plays out according to every decision you made in game. Two completely new game modes. Hardcore mode where your character dies permenantly and another mode where you can change and set boundaries and parameters to almost every aspect of the campaign. I cant even imagine what a Larian update will look like when one finally releases.
I've been out of the loop since the "dark days" of the game. THE single most immersion breaking thing for me was walking into a bar or a food stand etc and expecting to order something and see animations of my character enjoy a drink or food ala Red Dead Redemption style, it's instead an almost exact same buy menu no matter which vendor ala Starfield. If it's a weapons vendor or more mission-critical supplies, I'd understand. (eg. In RDR you can still go to a general store to buy supplies through a menu, but at a bar or lounge you'd expect more of an immersion role-play thing). But seeing that at a random ramen stand is just super weird to me. Imagine going to take a shower in V's apartment, and instead of the animation, you get a menu "Take a Shower"/"Scrub Toilets" and after you click one, the menu closes and you're just standing there like you were before the menu. I know there's been a mountain of immersion improvements. But have they improved on the above mentioned aspect? I know it's nit-picking at this point among all the improvements, but it's just weirdly important to me in an open world game.
I can’t blame the devs for the state of launch CP2077 because they told the higher ups and the money people “Hey. The games not ready yet, we need more time” but the higher ups and money people made them release it anyway to make deadlines and quotas. But the devs overwhelming support on trying to make the game what it should’ve been genuinely makes me feel good. I played the game on launch on my PS4 at the time and still absolutely loved it despite everything that was wrong with it, years later replaying it on my PS5 after all the support? I love it even more. Props to the devs man
This is my favorite game to just get lost and immersed in. I've been holding off because of all the updates and the mods I wanna play but I might finally give it another go
Im a big fan of Cyberpunk, as well as the Witcher 3. Got the platinum for the latter game years ago, and waited over a decade for Cyberpunk. I was homeless and in a real bad way for about two years during the pandemic. So, I wasnt able to play Cyberpunk for the first time until about a few months ago after I got myself set up again. Unfortunately, I only have a ps4, and have been stuck at v1.61. That said, Ive been living vicariously through your commentary and shared experiences and just want to say thanks. Im currently working on saving up for a super badass gaming PC, and both Cyberpunk 2077 and GTA VI are massive motivators towards that for me. In the meantime, Ill be here, watching from a distance.
It's a far better game with v1.61. You can still spread skills out. If you updated, you'd have to start the game over as your character would be ruined.
Cyberpunk 2077 1.0 was a game with soul that was held back by technical issues and development hell. It was never a "bad" game in writing or concept, it was a good game with some issues of half done RPG game design and lots of broken technical debt from bad management. I have replayed the game 5 times now between updates, and I would say 2.1 have sacrificed some RPG elements for convenience and action and I think it fits well. Ditching half cooked RPG elements and just honing inn on immersive elements and action combat has elevated it from a troubled good game to one of the best games ever imo. Sometimes less is actually more. It have been installed on my PC since release, and I will keep having it installed and keep re-visiting it. Its just such a good game and immersive nice open world. It fits nicely in my permanent installed game list right next to Elden Ring :)
Cdpr really wants to make me feel like I’m in the actual game when I play. The fact that I can now walk around with music is so damn realistic, I don’t walk anywhere without music in my ear.
It is smart to make a game... ... sell to people gen 1, then use lesser resources to update the game... ... sell to gen 1 and gen 2, then more future people... ... then to start expensive new projects which won't get updated so that after people played in 2010, they dumped it for a new project in 2020... ... and the reputation of the game sucks, while such games as Cyberpunk continues to attract old and new players while being praised for getting better, which the company only produce quality games... ... regardless how the games started out buggy and a mess. So said... ... doesn't mean companies should not go around begging for money to start new projects new games... ... Hee hee hee... ... But it is really smart to keep updating the same sh1+ making it better and better, as if producing new games every now and then. Do good for the rep of the game and the company.
Started a new game once the 2.0 came out. Just finished phantom liberty which was really amazing. The characters and story was so good in my opinion. I finished two endings and left reflecting things on each ending. Starting playing the main game now that I beat phantom liberty and having fun. I mostly enjoy the side quest. Not a fan of the GIGs but I usually just go guns blazing to quickly finish them. Really enjoying the main game story, characters, and music. Love they continue to make updates. Having the radio while walking around is great. Its so small and simple but adds a lot to exploring for me.
I love so many games, but very few games hit me like CP77 did. I started researching and absorbing all the lore behind it, read into the original TTRPG and RED, watched a ton of lore videos, and even got into the whole cyberpunk genre deep dive - Ghost in the Shell, Akira, Lain, Blade Runner, etc. It was my gateway drug into the genre. Before, I was only interested in fantasy and thought that sci-fi was meh. So happy that because of how they fixed and improved the game, so many other people are now trying it out and experiencing the things I love about it.
Having a total blast with 2.1 and cyber capacity shards are dropping again 🥳🎉 almost done with close to 400hrs fun on my first ever playthrough. Soon to start my second playthrough and maybe jazz things up with a few mods this time to. great fun game and looks completely stunning
It’s interesting to see how everybody is praising Cyberpunk 2077 now, don’t get me wrong I love that they’re still working on it, but to see people like Luke saying things like “imagine if they would come and tweak a game’s boss fight 3 years later of release”, like he’s completely missing the fact that they did it not only as an improvement but as a fixing of the game. I mean props to CDPR for still fixing the game, but for people criticizing it than praising it like nothing happened, I don’t know, it kinda loses credibility.
I bought Cyberpunk 2077 a bit more than a year after its bad launch. Aside from a few crashes and bugs it ran well, but at first I've got too overwhelmed by all the different builds and systems and guns and whatnot. So I took a step back, played other games then started watching tips and tricks videos on YT about the things above. They helped me A LOT to understand the old skill tree and game mechanics. (A shout out to all the youtubers - including you - who helped me with their videos! ❤) And once I understood the game better, I've got hooked. First the world/exploring and the side quests grabbed me, then the main story and lore sucked me in too. I finally recorded and finished my first playthrough with male V in May this year. And I was floored by how good my experience was! After a short break to play other games, at the end of the summer, I went back for a 2nd playthrough with female V before Phantom Liberty. And I couldn't stop playing ever since. Especially since the updates started coming and they'd improved and added SO MUCH! Most I really love. Phantom Liberty was a really good DLC too (I'm currently on my 2nd playthrough of it 😁), and once I get the last ending of the four, I'll have 100%-ed both the main game and the DLC! My very first platinum trophy is from CP 2077! And I'm about to get my very last trophy in the DLC too!!! 👆 This has NEVER EVER happened to me before! So this is a very clear proof - to me at least - that CP 2077 is indeed PHENOMENAL now and deserves a second chance and the praise for CDPR not abandoning it, for putting all the effort, money, dedication and passion into correcting their mistake and giving us the game CP 2077 was, I believe, always meant to be! Because despite the rocky start (Both the game's and my personal initial struggles), this game became one of my very favorite open world games (and gaming soundtracks) of all time! So yes, I agree, they very much deserve the credit where it's due, and they did redeem themselves in my eyes with all the hard work they'd put in since the launch. ❤❤❤(I wish more studios would learn, listen and care like this!) As always, much love and hugs from Hungary! ❤
I was the loudest critic of this game in my friend group since it's release. I reluctantly started playing 2.0 recently.... Holy Fuck. Waiting to play is the best decision I've made in my life of gaming. Quickly becoming one of my favorites
So after 3 Years with only 1 DLC that we had to pay for, Cyberpunk 2077 is now in the state that it should have launched in, to be remotely what it advertised iteself as. And for some reason everyone is celebrating that? Thank god that no lessons were learned with Games like this or No Man Sky (atleast they did it for free as an indie Dev). Even Fallout 76 is Very Positive on Steam now. I honestly don't know who I hate more, the people who intentionally release broken Games, or the people who forgive AND forget.
The only way they can improve it at this point, in my eyes - add third person camera view. At least for exploration, switch to first person when weapon is drawn out, switch back after hiding a weapon. I would love to see my character more, since I've spent time to customise it.
I’m interested to see how the new Smasher fight goes as well. But this is another awesome update overall. The metro and just having your partner over really add to a sense of immersion and living in that world even more. And it has me really hyped for Cyberpunk 2 with what they learned from 1. Although I think it’s a mistake to throw away the Red Engine for UE5. Also, we’re all but garaunteed a next gen upgrade with the PS6/XBox whatever and will likely see path tracing even on console next gen. And this game will age like a fine wine. So glad they went heads down and had this kind of rebound for the game. There is so much here, I’ve been a fan since day one, and it has so much potential that we have a lot more to come with this IP. Love to see it.
I can't remember playing game that got me more immersed than cp2077 and I have played games since MS-DOS. And that was even before update 2.1. Now it's even better. Phantom Liberty plot is a masterpiece(as well as the main story tbh). Skilltree rework, new implants, weapons, weaponized cars, new gigs... God I love this game. Netrunner-Assassin-Samurai for life :D
Whatever people think of the game when it was originally released, or now, with regards to if its the greatest game or not an RPG or whatever, we can all agree that's it's a W. A developer that cares this much is only a win for gamers.
The metro system is a great feature on paper, but... you can't actually walk in and out of the train, move around the train at will, or maybe rob people like you could in RDR2. That's a bummer. Also, the turning mechanic to look out the window is so stiff and unnatural. I feel like they didn't do the metro justice, and while it's cool to have it, I would have preferred they either did it properly or not at all.
The metro mod was one of favorite mods to use. It gave such an awesome view of the city you usually do not see, and it's sick they made it into an actual feature.
I agree that they deserve massive praise, I pre ordered the game & bought limited edition Cyberpunk Xbox one x and everything I was so hyped. I saw there was good bones there but was disappointed, however I picked it back up last month and was really amazed at what they've changed and updated. Great video again btw.
I don't get the 'this is peak Cyberpunk'. Driving mechanics are still horrible, exposure changes still blind players, ads are obnoxiously loud and the enemy AI is early 2000s. Just started playing and am absolutely in love with it but I still needed half a dozen mods to fix these core elements. Hardly at it's best yet.
Got almost 400 hours in Cyberpunk, and I haven't played since the new update released. Really looking forward to more time with Panam cuz I've cleared the whole map
Nooo.. we have to stop telling them “good job” for giving us a broken product and scamming gamers, then using that scam money to give us the game they originally promised … years later
One last thing i want them to implement in the game (if possible) is a hardcore mode with minimal U.I., no teleport, survival gameplay loop (like sleeping, eating etc...) and the necessity to restart from the begining if you die once. I dont remember when but I remember one dev wanting to implement a no hud game mode for this game but they unfortunately abandoned the idea during the chaotic developpement.
@@jdrummerddyou can basically turn off all of the hud. from what i remember, and this was a few updates ago, the only thing still on the hud is the tiny body shape at the bottom right.
I really don’t see how this is better. I’m finding legendary items, and I mean the red items that have all the legendary effects removed. I go to ripperdocs and there’s nothing in their trade section. I can buy cybernetics, but I can’t buy blueprints or schematics, or any of those things. Before I could switch up my project system, by buying products. Now they’re already pre-installed and I have to just take them as they are. Like thermal, gorilla arms, or toxic mono wire. I can’t switch them on the fly as I please the way you used to be able to
Oh my reason I say kinda epic is well the many other ways to fight are kinda lame, now go in with your fists (guerilla arms), oh boy now that's a fight epic from beginning to end
I really hope Starfield gets a 2.0, it really needs more stuff to do, more purpose to the outpost and more side content on the planets, not just the cities. Also, some variety to the cookie-cutter building complexes.
People knew CDPR was not going to drop support because they had proven that with the Witcher 3. 20 years of Bethesda has shown us only one thing, and that is, their games are still broken 20 years down the line as they were on the launch day. Don't give yourself any hope. You will only disappoint yourself.
@@yomamasohot6411 I've been disappointed my entire life, nothing to loose by having hope for a 2.0 or at least a mod that strives for a 2.0 experience.
Once creation kit is available modders will make Starfield far better than Bethesda could do on its own. Already 500 hrs in and at ng 11+ I'll wait till the Shattered Space DLC drops before I start modding it.
I can’t describe this update… It’s basically what CDPR wanted Cyberpunk to be since before launch. Even tho I believe there’s still a few things to add such as: 2 player co-op, a more complex stealth takedown system, and possibly some body types. Idk if this is the last update or if there’s gonna be 1 more in the future tho.
Easily in my top favorite games. The only thing I can compare it to is RDR2. That was the last game I played where I couldn't put it down. I contemplate calling in to work to play. I think about it when I am not playing. Its amazing. I am glad I waited to pick up Cyberpunk 2077. Its wild because the city isn't that dynamic. The NPCs are very simple and there isn't a lot to interact with. But the design of the city, all the little details and all the little random encounters more than make up for it. Graphically its amazing too, even on console. It runs great with raytracing at 4k on PS5. 30fps doesn't bug me. It actually looks more real at 30fps, movement looks more real. At 60fps it looks like a videogame. Maybe cus TV and movies have been what... 24fps I think? Less than 30. But absolutely mind blowing writing. Such good story telling. The humor is good, subtle and not excessive or lame. The combat is fun. The missions are varied and fun. The charachters are great. Phantom Liberty is great. Dogtown is awesome, it feels like a totally different game. Only complaints... the story has a ton of urgency about it, we are dying... but you gotta take a few weeks to do all the side content before locking yourself out of it, so it feels strange putting off a life or death situation to steal cars and collect bounties. But its my favorite game since RDR2, and it might actually be #1, I will know when I finish it.
Holy hell it's totally different game now than on a day of its launch. I had my doubts but damn. It's awesome now, too bad we waited this long for them to finish it.
About the train system or just ride places, I usually use those at the ned of a game session. Yeah, teleporting is more practical, but just before I leave the game I want to hav the feeling of the end of the day going home and this more immersive methods are magical to create that feeling.
The train thing is cool aspecially for VR. Did not try it yet but I am happy for all the new stuff. What I dislike is the blackscreen into the train though but that is just nitpicking
i have reinstalled the game twice thinking ill restart the game with the new updates. Nope. Honestly i think the release state was so terrible i just can't justify spending more money on it or even replaying it. The bad taste they left just won't go away. I don't want to encourage fixing games 3 years after the fact by paying for their DLC.

Agreed.
Cyberpunk may not be the best from an objective standpoint, its gameplay is nothing that innovative at all. But the narrative that is driven through the characters, the world, lore, soundtrack, etc. just makes for an incredible experience. Definitely a game for the ages.

7:50 - Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut
A major criticism of the original game was, all of the choices you made for how to play (stealth; tactical; pacifist; guns-blazing) went out the window when you reached a boss, with every encounter being a shoot-out.
They redesigned pretty much every boss in the Director's Cut to allow for a variety of approaches. I don't remember them changing them *much*, but the effort was definitely there.
Yup, thanks for remembering and shouting out Deus Ex. HR Director's Cut was great.
How ironic that Cyberpunk 2077 and Deus Ex HR have similar settings

They are...

Having emotional attachment to a videogame character is different from thinking it's a real person or worse trying to fill a hole in your real life with a virtual character. If you don't feel a little sting when you have to make your choice at the ending, or when friends of V die, why are you even playing a character driven game?

Exploring the Stories of humans in this dystopian settings gripped me so hard I finished my first playthrough over the holidays. And just like how people hope for a happy ending for book and movie characters I was emotionally attached to certain characters, mainly Judy, one of the romances.
Spoilers:
At a point in the story you try to save her best friend, she has been tortured and raped, you find her and she is in a comatose state. Judy gives her all and in the end said best friend kills herself the first time Judy leaves her for a few hours.
After that moment I just wanted to be there for that poor girl and to me the game became a story about the main character V and Judy wanting a happy ending together
The extended romamce options make that pretty satisfying bc it will feel realistic how she will text you, ask you on dates etc.
I think thats just really goos writing and no weird "Sweaty gamer simps over virtual video game girlfriend". Its just a sweet character you want a good ending for and thats what many play video games for while I assume you play more for gameplay and action

Baldurs Gate 3 has had 5 patches so far.

❤❤❤(I wish more studios would learn, listen and care like this!)
As always, much love and hugs from Hungary! ❤

At least for exploration, switch to first person when weapon is drawn out, switch back after hiding a weapon.
I would love to see my character more, since I've spent time to customise it.
Just picked up my PS5 copy with Phantom Liberty yesterday. I'm blown away by this game, I can't say I've ever experienced such a lively world.
Red Dead Redemption 2? Witcher 3? GTA 5? Skyrim?
Are you saying they finally changed the ai in this game!!!!?????
@@medalgearsalad1419 rdr2, gta5 and skyrim got nothing on cyberpunk. Great games, rdr2 comes the closest
@@bluemoon1716 I disagree with your second comment. Please tell me how lively the world in this game is.
@@medalgearsalad1419 why does a different opinion bother you so much? Calm down. Immersion is different for everyone. ✌️
@@peanut-junder Calm down? I am calm, I was asking you a question? Why are you getting defensive?
Honestly wall running and jet boosters/jump make sense here unlike call of duty. That would add a whole new way to deal with the boss
We literally got Edgerunners Adam Smasher
I can't remember playing game that got me more immersed than cp2077 and I have played games since MS-DOS.
And that was even before update 2.1. Now it's even better. Phantom Liberty plot is a masterpiece(as well as the main story tbh). Skilltree rework, new implants, weapons, weaponized cars, new gigs... God I love this game.
Netrunner-Assassin-Samurai for life :D
The metro is so half baked. You can't even walk around on the metro. The doors don't open and close. Wth is even the point then?
It’s called immersion
Whatever people think of the game when it was originally released, or now, with regards to if its the greatest game or not an RPG or whatever, we can all agree that's it's a W. A developer that cares this much is only a win for gamers.
You were reading quite a few of the 2.0 updates, not 2.1 lol
The metro system is a great feature on paper, but... you can't actually walk in and out of the train, move around the train at will, or maybe rob people like you could in RDR2. That's a bummer. Also, the turning mechanic to look out the window is so stiff and unnatural. I feel like they didn't do the metro justice, and while it's cool to have it, I would have preferred they either did it properly or not at all.
honestly just the beauty of night city makes up for it all
The metro mod was one of favorite mods to use.
The Walkman is a huge addition. Really brings a great vibe to general open world gameplay.
Really awesome addition.
The new updates are amazing. And so far I’ve been enjoying it a lot.
The pop in on Series X is unbelievable. Every time they "fix" something, they break everything else
giving a spoiler alert after showing the endboss of a different game was fucking funny to me idk why🤣🤣
The GTA Fast Travel mod is also great for immersion. Also, Mantis Blades finisher animations are broken since 2.1.
"We have that cranked abd it's running THAT well". Yeah, on 4090 =) Less than 1% of Steam audience can say the same =)
Nooo.. we have to stop telling them “good job” for giving us a broken product and scamming gamers, then using that scam money to give us the game they originally promised … years later
One last thing i want them to implement in the game (if possible) is a hardcore mode with minimal U.I., no teleport, survival gameplay loop (like sleeping, eating etc...) and the necessity to restart from the begining if you die once.
I dont remember when but I remember one dev wanting to implement a no hud game mode for this game but they unfortunately abandoned the idea during the chaotic developpement.
fairly certain you can adjust the hud settings now, not sure how much you can remove but you might be able to make it all smaller at least.
@@jdrummerddyou can basically turn off all of the hud. from what i remember, and this was a few updates ago, the only thing still on the hud is the tiny body shape at the bottom right.
Night and day difference with Smasher. Much more aggressive and using Sandevistan. They really did make him seem as unstoppable as Edgerunners.
Bought this game during its lowest time at the lowest price possible 5 dollar. Loved it till this day
My dumbass got this for 50 for the digital once I got my ps5 but it was worth it thoe, my most played game on my ps5
Everytime that song “I really want to stay at your house” comes on the vibe is 🔥 I keep it on body heat radio for that alone
What a character arc for CDPR I appreciate it. I'm not letting them slide that broken ass launch.
We shouldn’t let them slide but we can appreciate that they stuck with it and made a great game. Means a lot to
you must be an absolutely perfect individual!! launch was horrible, but they fixed their mistakes and made huge improvements. I am impressed.
I never gave up on this game. I actually bought the day 1 and played early this year. And now i have to play it again.😊
I would trade the tram system for new game plus any day.
not me
The biggest comeback in gaming...No Man's Sky is up there as well.
Luke you were reading 2.0 updates for 2.1
I really don’t see how this is better. I can’t switch them on the fly as I please the way you used to be able to
After trying it the Adam smasher fight is now kinda epic way better than before
Oh my reason I say kinda epic is well the many other ways to fight are kinda lame, now go in with your fists (guerilla arms), oh boy now that's a fight epic from beginning to end
I can’t describe this update…
It’s basically what CDPR wanted Cyberpunk to be since before launch. Even tho I believe there’s still a few things to add such as: 2 player co-op, a more complex stealth takedown system, and possibly some body types. Idk if this is the last update or if there’s gonna be 1 more in the future tho.
Todd must be losing his mind. 😂
Starfield GOTY
Bro is gonna retire next year lol
Ngl I thought the music playing while I was running around on foot was just a glitch 😂 that’s awesome tho love that they added all this
Who’s here after hdbombers video?…
It only took 3 years to make a broken mess into a stable mess. Hows the Ai, flying cars or multiplayer going?.
Holy hell it's totally different game now than on a day of its launch. I had my doubts but damn. It's awesome now, too bad we waited this long for them to finish it.
I'm still waiting for cyperpunk online 😔
The people at CDPR, they are good people. 🙏
About the train system or just ride places, I usually use those at the ned of a game session. Yeah, teleporting is more practical, but just before I leave the game I want to hav the feeling of the end of the day going home and this more immersive methods are magical to create that feeling.
Lmao I just started hbomberguys new video because I heard it was fire. Didn't know you'd be in the first couple minutes lmao. Yikes
The train thing is cool aspecially for VR.
Did not try it yet but I am happy for all the new stuff.
What I dislike is the blackscreen into the train though but that is just nitpicking
Another 8 months and it'll be 75% as promised prior to release
Yup lmaooooo
Not really, but do stay salty.
Some real game journalist gameplay right here
i have reinstalled the game twice thinking ill restart the game with the new updates. Nope.
Honestly i think the release state was so terrible i just can't justify spending more money on it or even replaying it. The bad taste they left just won't go away.
I don't want to encourage fixing games 3 years after the fact by paying for their DLC.
Cyberpunk has beaten Fallout New Vegas as my all time favourite rpg. Honestly probably my all time favourite game
ok enough ...I am buying cyberpunk fr.
it's definitely worth it
They really could've done more with this game but damn... I guess they learned their own abilities the hard way
