The build you put together is exactly what i'm getting for my gf when this releases, brown ano with gold accents, along with the qk keycaps & switches bundle. Thank you so much for showing all these different configs to help us decide! Keep up the good work, just letting you know your content just made someone's day 😄
Can’t even fathom how much time it took to put together all the sound tests, especially for a board with so many keys! It’s too big for me, but definitely want to continue to applaud QK for giving folks lots of plate / pcb customization in addition to all the cosmetics. If someone like QK can be doing this, it almost makes me surprised KBDFans (which presumably operates at a larger scale than QK/Owl Labs) doesn’t at least offer non-flex cuts PCBs in the new Tofu cases.
Oh you know how long this took lol. On the kbd front, what sells ebbs and flows you know. If they are doing fine without selling additional add ons, it may not be worth the risk for them. QK is just on another level at this point
@@Akeynote Hey, may I ask what the key shortcuts are for turning on the RGB and cycling between the GIFs for the screen? I've been looking online and have came up with nothing. and the software doesn't give any indication.
although I'm waiting for the QK75 r2 (Copium, missed r1) I was looking forward to this from you, QK80 ping was too off putting to get but if I wasn't sold on size the QK100 sounds and looks so great imo.
You can actually fix the ping on the qk80 really easily. The trick is just doing 1 layer of a force break mod and then just leaving the keyboard to sit with the PCB, plate, and switches in it for like a day and it straightens out the plates and removes the ping entirely
Does this keyboard have RGB for tri-mode PCB? I see that the wired version has per-key RGB but doesn't say anything about tri-mode on the product page, so I wasn't sure if tri-mode had no RGB at all or just not per-key.
Just built last night but the copy and paste functions don’t seem to work. Checked in VIA as well. It’s the wired Hot Swap PCB by the way. Anybody else have these issues?
@@Akeynote Oh ok. I seemed like the carbon fiber plate was the bounciest in the video, but when I tried the carbon fiber plate it seems stiffer. I'll try it again without foam tho since that's how you had it.
The picture looks a bit washed out on my PC. Is this the final brown color? It looks very light (milk chocolate with a tinge of red) while the photo on the Qwertykeys website is a very deep dark brown.
Great video! The brown color on their site shows as a deep brown, whereas in this video it looks like a much lighter brown. Which one of those do you think is more true-to-life? Thanks
I try to color grade so the keyboard is the most true to life as possible. That’s why sometimes my skin tones are off lol. In real life it’s definitely brown. Sometimes in lowlight situations it can look burgundy.
all keys can be programmed using their software. so you can map any key anywhere simulating a mac. as for the screen i dont have mac to check sorry! just add a lewd anime gif and be done with it lol
It’s not really a fair comparison. Gmk is literally double the price, but you get what you pay for. Legending, feel and sound on these QK caps hit well above the asking price and somewhat a steal when included in the bundle. With that said, of course GMK’s legending is superior
It sounded like case ping :s. Do you think the QK100 needs some force break mod if we chose to put no foams? I was hesitating between buying either PC plate and FR4 plate. Now I think I'm gonna go for PC and CF plates.
@@SevericK_BooM if your local to the Bay Area, get the cream and we’ll swap tops or bottoms (you choose) lol. This way you can have both! Can’t promise mine will still be in pristine condition by the time you get yours though 🤣.
I’m reviewing the cycle 7 now. I’m not done testing but I think I like the QK more sound wise, but the cycle 7 space bar is nuts and coating looks nicer IRL. As far as against the previous QK boards, pretty in line with the 80 but quality over all is the best. I feel like they try and make things feel more premium each time. I could just be thinking new shiny board equals more quality.

@@Akeynote for sure, the trends change quickly, and likely the market for those boards largely doesn’t care about flex cuts either way.
Just finished building my QK 100 minutes go and I'm typing on it right now. It sounds so good with WS Morandi switches, what an awesome first custom!
Sheeesh yeah that is probably my favorite sounding one in the lineup right now. My only gripe was no southpaw.
@@Akeynote Hey, may I ask what the key shortcuts are for turning on the RGB and cycling between the GIFs for the screen? I've been looking online and have came up with nothing. and the software doesn't give any indication.
SMASHED this one man
Thanks bro!

Yeah they really killed it with this one. Sounds off the charts

The Tri mode doesn’t have per key from what I remember
I’m really enjoying the QK80 but may have to grab this for my office. Seems like a really solid board
Tooooo good. QK gets better and better with each release. I’m planning on buying an additional yellow one lol.

Interesting I assume you always did a re-flash. If not I would try that
Where is the volume knob from that you have on your desk?
It’s from angry miao
What mounting system did you use during the different plate tests?
Most likely gasket. I usually do most testing in gasket, unless specified 🫡

Wow the non flex cut PCB sounds so much better than the flex cut one
🤙🤙🤙
They really do be releasing all of the best looking boards at a time where I am strictly budgeted
damn sorry friend. at least you can always look forward to the next one!

Hmmm maybe need I need better monitor lol. It’s pretty close to the color on QK. It’s deep brown sometimes looks purple under certain lights to me
that brown looks sooo good 🍫
Oh thanks you. You mean my skin color right?! Lol
Whats the keyset used? Looks dope
These are the included bundle keycaps. They can be purchased separately!

Disclaimer, if your not on a 4K monitor that could change some things.
Are there any lighting options?
Only light options are the led bar and screen. I believe the Tri-mode will have per key rgb
Does it have a Mac mode? I noticed the windows logo on the screen and am wondering if it can be set to Mac mode

How come the FR4, no foam, no flex-cut pcb sounded so pingy?
?? Idk, I don’t hear it. Maybe it’s mic feedback or something? I don’t remember this being pingy at all.

Finally a review with the brown one
what keycaps are those?
They are the included keycaps with the bundle. You can purchase them separately once the GB is live.
This video was GREAT!!! Thank you so much!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
The Keycap set is sensational. Can I get the name of it
It’s the included bundle set. It will be available for purchase separately. I believe it’s $70 or $80 stand alone.
Can’t decide between the cream or brown
Get cream keycaps and brown case or vise versa lmao

I’m so sorry, but at least your collection is going to be stacked lmao
I need this!!!! Awesome build
Haha
can you compare the quality of the board to the previous QK boards? i am thinking of getting this one over cycle 7.

Sorry I’m a little new to the whole customizing your keyboard.
But what specifically is Tri Mode?
Tri-mode means you can use it wired, over bluetooth or wireless.
Thanks for helping answer!

the “$150” audio cut-in took me OUT 😂

Neat colors 🎉 informative video

yeah sure the keyboard's cool but you can't put those adorable robots in this video and not tell us where to get them (please!)
