I believe they also used this highlight of the eyes on actresses in 20's or 30's movies. To me it gives Moticia more of a classic Hollywood atmosphere and charm.

This is making me think of something I sometimes reply to my young nieces and nephew when they say something is "weird". I like to answer that with statements such as "But I still like it." or "That is what makes it cool/interesting.". I am hoping to show that just because something is "weird" or "different" that it does not automatically make that thing "bad" or "wrong".

It was all that got me through. Didnt get old and it made me love this film on a whole new level.

The running gag was that Jack was such a penny pincher and did things on the cheap to a comedic length. In a few episodes, Jack would go to get some money from his vault, and it sounded like he had a giant vault with alligators, moats, and a guy named Joe who was the security guard. One little tidbit of fun info - the conductor in the Mamushka scene is the composer of the film's music. I love that he has that little cameo. 🙂 Definitely look for the video "extra mamushka" here if you want to see the whole scene that was cut back for the original release - it's very entertaining.
One o my favorite fanfictions is a crossover between Buffy, the Addamses, and Harry Potter. Gomez takes Xander under his wing, and because the story starts when Xander is 11 he becomes so much less what he is in Buffy, but becomes such a better character.

Not counting the cast of Wednesday on Netflix, this is my favorite casting for The Addams Family. Specifically, Anjelica Huston as Morticia is sensational, and Christina Ricci as Wednesday is iconic.
The Addams family is really confusing because every iteration of it is different, like the most recent iteration is obviously Wednesday and she has some powers, like she clearly has abilities, so who knows exactly, I think in the original comic strip they were just like a weird Goth family and then by the TV show they were kind of like these Goth/supernatural adjacent people who had some level of supernatural powers that kind of kept them alive but they just also liked torturing each other, it's unclear if they can live a long time, like some people thought that they were vampires but I don't think they are but like a vampire they might have the ability to live for hundreds of years or something, it's really unclear and even with shows like Wednesday Wednesday kind of implies their witches, which I guess would also explain living for tons of years or the supernatural aspects of that, because like Edith I think her name is in Wednesday is a werewolf and there are other beings there I don't know if there are vampires at the Academy or not but there are witches I think so I don't know if Wednesday is supposed to actually be a witch so maybe the Addams family are witches and witches maybe their supernatural power is explained or maybe they're like which she adjacent like maybe they had which ancestors or something which give them the power to live for lots more years than normal people or give them the ability to come back from the dead or communicate with the dead sort of uncle Uncle unclear what their powers are, but at least on one side of the family I'm pretty sure someone had some level of powers I think it's Morticia side of the family, I'm not sure also I don't know if the grandmother is Gomez or Morticia's mother, also only in the recent adaptations is fester uncle being Gomez's father originally he was like Morticia Uncle I think or something, I think a lot of people were more connected to Morticia than to Gomez so I don't know it's like changed a lot, honestly I don't know what ton about the Addams family, I know there was another show that was similar with like different monsters like Frankenstein and things that people compare the Addams family to back in like the 60s or something, but the Addams family outlived that show and is more known, I think over the years the Addams family was changed to where it is now with Wednesday it's kind of implied that there are witches or witch adjacent, my personal head canon was always that they had some level of supernatural abilities that reconnected to vampires and witches and just like they were relatively regular people but they had ancestors who were like witches or vampires or something and so they carried that line down and so these were odd people who just had some level of supernatural abilities where they just couldn't really die so they were able to torture each other and they were able to do these weird wacky things because they had a higher level of protection then a regular human did when it came to things like super strength things like that, my other thought was maybe that they were kind of like zombies, we are like they would die and then be reanimated like reanimated corpses and so that's how they were able to like torture each other and do all these crazy things cause like they were technically dead, that I'm not sure about, but I feel like that would also make sense, like they're not zombies they're not vampires they're not witches but they are some sort of supernatural entity whether they are like kind of a reanimated corpse but not a zombie, I know that doesn't really make sense but the idea is that there is something supernatural about them throughout all the different adaptations over the years, and it's just whatever you want to believe, different people have put their different spins on it like with Wednesday having powers or with this adaptation, their palefaces do make you think of vampires but that's why I also think like corpses as well like instead of a weird zombie or riding corpse it's just like they have the ability to somehow reanimate themselves and come back to life so that way they're able to torture each other and things like thatlike who knows what they can and can't actually feel and it would explain their palefaces and things like that as well. I am not sure if you have, but like I said with all the different adaptations they have changed a lot of different things so it's kind of up to your own interpretation on what you want to believe, The new Wednesday show kind of implies that Morticia's family are descendants of witches and this movie also kind of implies that as well with Alia or whatever her name was who was burned at the stake after running naked in the town Square for being a witch, so I mean maybe Morticia side of the family are witches and Gomez side of the family or vampires or I don't know, I don't really know how to explain the whole thing to you, like I don't think that there are zombies or anything like that but I think you know there's some other type of being like not necessarily fully human like maybe the human versions of them died and then they came back and they just kind of Die again but they never like fully die, like when they were talking about digging up bodies from the cemetery, like there might be some sort of magic around the bodies to wear they can kind of come back after certain amount of time, also it's kind of implied that they can live for a long time, as it's sort of implied that The time period that Gomez and uncle Fester existed in when they were children and then when Fester went away to the Bermuda Triangle like 20 years ago or something but I don't know if fist was like a literal child and that woman raised him from like a teenager or something or if she just found the grown version of him because you can't really adopt someone Once they're over 18, so I'm a bit confused on that, but also kind of implied that they are youth was like a long time ago whereas we know that Wednesday and Pugsley are going to school and like the 90s or something like I think this film is set around the same time that it came out so Like it's kind of unclear how many years Morticia and Gomez have lived for, like I said it's sort of confusing and if they were like these sort of half alive half dead beings then it would kind of explain any weird occurrences like how they're able to like stab and electrocute each other and all these weird things with that actually killing each other because if they're like semi did semi alive, also with creatures like Thing just being a hand, also implies that like it's some sort of Frankenstein type situation where he's like a living hand so like the soul of his human counterpart went inside the body of one of his hands or something that's why it's just a hand I don't know there could be so many different reasons why the thing is just a hand, but I don't know it's a lot of weird goofy things like that where it just seems like it has something to do with death and like we and that kind of thing we're like they're reanimated corpses or like their half alive beings were like they died and then kind of came back, it's also kind of implied through people like this who when he got electrocuted by the lightning his memory came back and like there's so many weird electrocution things both in this film and the following film to do with fester sobased on the way they look especially the way uncle Fester he really seems like he is a reanimated corpse just the way his make up is done and everything like that especially around his eyes so I don't know I feel like that makes sense also like vampire thing but I don't really know because nobody knows to be honest.

And Gomez is probably a couple of years younger than Fester, they didn't specify how much younger. Of course, it makes Fester around 19 when he left. Abigail Craven must've found him with amnesia and decided to use him, hence convincing Fester he's her son Gordon. So no actual adoption or anything happened - Maria
