As someone who runs an oil drilling rig cleaning company, hotsy is hands down the best there is, I've run every make and model on the market, and nothing lasts or works harder than hotsy
Back in the mid 1970s, I worked for a construction company that was adding on to a cement plant. The rock dust would cover about anything. Hotsy came out and set up a wash area. We could turn on hot water for the heavy equipment and it did a fantastic job. When washing a car or truck, we never turned on the hot water and it would safely clean the vehicle. One guy accidentally turned on the hot water and started to wash his car and peeled all the paint off his deck lid in two seconds. We never had any problems with the Hotsy and the cement plant kept the wash station for their trucks and equipment after the four year job was over.
I had to invent a process to remove the adhesive from removing a wrap on a Dorito truck, the entire 22 ft truck was wrapped.I rolled on citristrip, and rented a hot water pressure washer, put on a tornado tip and stripped the truck in about an hour! I show the video all the time, its truly amazing how well it worked and how fast ot was!
I kinda expected more for those prices. Definitely shop around if you're thinking of buying a washer. After watching this I feel REALLY GOOD about what i paid for mine now. Its been 7 yrs on the job (light duty single man operation) with no real problems.
Once you use heated water pressure sprayers, there's no going back to cold. We set up a 50' square pad wash station for the farm. We had scaffold ladders on each side that would roll out of the way when not needed. And all driven by the Hotsy. Working on clean equipment makes every thing so much nicer.
Karcher owns landa also. Landa is the commercial brand for wash companies. Hosty is for cleaning equipment and a good shop unit. There are 4000+psi units, there all kinds of units. Ran a 13gpm truck unit for years. Had a commercial cleaning company.
I love how you hold vendors to task. Keep it up. I sure wish you were in business in Tennessee, I would hire you for a lot of jobs regardless of the cost.
Best machines in the world. I use to have a older Hotsy in the 2000's & it lasted forever. From what I know it's still working today. Never broke besides hoses would melt away sometimes from getting so hott. But by far the best kind of pressure washer out there. Kind of pricey but worth every penny.
We had a Hotsy 30+ years ago. Thermostat went to like 218F. Crazy hot. Loved it. Used it mainly for cleaning mobile BBQs. It was expensive then. The numbers they were mentioning translate to upwards of 14-15K in Canada. Very nice machines, but way out of my market.
Curious to have more of break down on how the machines work and why at what temps and water inflow and how to use well water in them and all that jazz plus nozzles
I have run many many hours using hot water pressure waters.I cleaned our hog houses for over 40 years. Three buildings. Both cold and hot water machines. Hot water works the best. Hosty looks like a good mashine. Wish I had somewhere to got the fuel you use. Thanks😊
I used to wear red wings for years but recently tried Brunt boots..... and yes they are very comfortable and can take a good beating, keeps on going... Those pressure washers are crazy!! Thanks for sharing.
I wonder why we never see any hot water pressure washers with a diesel engine. It would seam like only having one fuel tank would simplify things and prevent an employee making a fuel mixup mistake. Especially if it already needs diesel for the heater.
Hotsy makes the HSDS super duty washer. It has a 4 cylinder kubota engine, and they are amazing 40k$ machines .. we use them in the oilfields to clean drilling rigs, worth every penny
Honestly that presure washer seems like one of the best ones, I used to use a presure washer all the time when I worked fast food, a hot water one would definitely help clean the grease of the walls thats for sure
In my underground mining career, I pressure washed some of the scoop trams that I was operating that shift a few times using that rotory nozzle pressure washer if I was near an underground shop, and yeah it's satisfying to do for sure, thanks I enjoyed the video Stan.
+1 - I bought a new 797SS last year, love the machine but it's a tough nut to maneuver around. If a guy has a big shop/floor area, not a big deal, but would really be a help if it'd steer. I'm removing the axles/wheels this spring, gonna weld up a steerable frame..I weigh just barely enough to get the thing on it's rear wheels to pivot around.
Believe it of not, there is a technical difference between pressure washers and power washers, and the two aren't interchangeable. Pressure washers use only cold water, while power washers are units that utilize hot water to clean with. So, technically, Hotsy machines are power washers.
When I took care of the train at the Jefferson & Cypress Bayou RR, I would hook up a line to the boiler blowdown and use that to pressure wash the engine, wheels, and frame. With water from the boiler at over 100 psi, the temperature was well over 250*F.
I always judge contractors by the shape and condition of there equipment. If they show up in ratty olf beatup pickup trucks, it's conducive with the quality of work they perform. If they are filthy, muddy greesy, empty soda cans falling out of the cab, that too tells me a lot about the quality of the company and worker. I'm not alone in this philosophy. So it behooves a company to invest into some gear like this to keep it clean, and allot time for employees to maintain and clean the vehicles.
A few of my friends were talking about adding pressure washing to their list of things they offer. Seems like there's some money to be made! So much cool stuff! Have a wonderful weekend!
The extended 5 years may only apply to the part being replaced, rather than the entire machine - may be worth clarifying on that. Warranties, and manufacturers' supporting their products* is something one needs to be able to rely on! Used and rebuilt Karcher blasters in the past - good machines. *Five or six days agoI got round to unboxing a simple, cold water, Nilfisk water blaster I'd bought 4-5 years ago to wash down the mother's house (she passed and I didn't get around to it). Dead out of the box and when I checked about getting it checked (on my dollar if out of warranty), they'd stopped importing and supporting the product years ago, shortly after my purchase. I suspect a sticky pressure switch, so am about to go and strip it down - fortunately i can still purchase parts from overseas.
One habit we like to follow on our pressure washer is to turn off the heater and run the water until it’s cold before shutting down the pressure washer. Leaving the hot water in the system and shutting everything down is hard on the o rings and seals.
It is difficult for me to watch so much detergent, oil and grease going straight into the ground. Most will run off with the rain into streams and then into rivers, polluting the water. Here in Germany cleaning of vehicles and machinery must be done on hardstanding with all waste being collected and fully treated before discharge. The penalties are very large but our rivers are clean and full of life.
Agree, and people wonder why everyone are sick. Majority of humans are braindead. Forget they are connected with nature and have to wash their chunk of steal to make a living and forget about their body, mind and spirit. Sad days were livin in. Then you get egotistical comments like referring Greta thunberg. Shallow mindedness. We can do much better.
mine is built into my van, just blowing out the water daily should be good enough or any other suggestions for someone who works year round and cant take it out of the van? thank you
They make the best heated pressure washers, we used and abused ours at the factory. We washed dump trucks and front end loaders everyday rain, shine, hot, cold you name it and it’s over 6 years old. The double wand with the pressure adjustment twisted handle it worth every penny. They also come out to service ours twice a year. But ours is wired in and not portable, it runs on natural gas for the burner and it’s the size of a large atv.
Huh, I learned something about pressure washers. Stan, I used a pressure washer every single day, washing limousines and hearses and didn't fully understand how they functioned best. Thanks! Don't forget ear and eye protection!
I first heard about this at my place of employment we have this unit and we mounted it to a trailer, it’s a great unit so far I really like it. The company I work for finally got a new one after the heating unit broke.
I learned that one about turning it off when idle the hard way when I heard a bang and saw the lance skidding along the floor, fortunately it was just the hose which had split at the connector. Since then I've always turned a unit off if I'm not using it.
You know, I definitely appreciate the warranty and what not but like, those prices are psychotic. I can go pick up a hot water pressure washer with a gas engine and similar specs to the biggest unit they showed for $4,000 Canadian, so like, $3000 USD.
Guess you're talking about an Easy Kleen. While I agree with you, they are no where near the quality of the Hotsy units with most of it being made in China (yeah, assembled in Canada, blah blah). $10k is big money, though. I was surprised when they said it, and don't forget, that is USD.
I could hear the tip clogging change rpm slow down. Then you could see it stop working. Have to have a Screen to keep debris from wearing out the tip or clogging .
I had a business called Walsh on wheels that tip he’s using on that gun is called the worm gear. I had that 15 years ago nobody else had one they are unbelievable. My machine was 5200 pounds at the tip and could cut concrete if you wanted it to
New part, new warranty. Thats how it should be for everything. But most dont stand behind their products. So, it wont happen until a blue and yellow moon shows up.
Being a diabetic my entire life, I’m 42, so I’ve been a diabetic for 38 yrs, I were newbalance shoes and work boots I only wear redwings! Irish setters!
One important thing that wasn't talked about for new user's is always run water through the pump and hose before starting.. You never want to dry start any pressure washer.. I agree the on screen captions should go away
I have a gas n diesel burner I bought it from hosty and they put a new coil in it but it won't fire up know I had it for yr an I don't know what I should chk for on the heater it won't fire up pressure work great what do I chk for the heat to come on Bruno here
Sorry for the change up Stay away from Summit Hydraulics kits ordered third function daul remotes for a John Deere four series tractor. took it to the dealer for installation. Kit was missing parts wrong instructions, dealer mechanic spent a week talking to Summit tech to get the kit to work and does not work. I spent $800 for installation for a kit that does not work.
Yeah I can get a bobcat washer with the same specs and similar warranty with local service for 5k new with a Honda motor. Hotsy is like John deer your just paying for a name and the pretty paint.
Hot water pressure washers are really dangerous. They’re nice for the right type of jobs but not for your average Joe to perform washes on normal things.

Weird we use hot water on our heavy equipment and our company pick ups but I guess paint has probably came a long way since the 70’s
@@rileyhrocks4731 the problem was with automotive paint that not anywhere new. We never had problems with hot water on construction equipment.
Garrett set us up at our shop a couple years ago. Super informative. We love our Hotsy.

Ummmmmm, Doritos.
Go buy one and get after it! The moneys in the dirt!
You didn't invent anything! It's been known for decades
@@George-dy3ptWell,your right! I walked right into the fuckin Home Depot and asked for a wrap removal kit! Get a life
Stanley, you're knockin' em dead. What a great informative video. Keep 'em coming!

How many shops have soft water?
That was very informative and I enjoyed every minute. Thank you Stanley and Hotsy.

It's a money issue. They do make plenty of them, byt the cheapest one is around 11k. The one u would actually want is around 25k

Why are Hotsys not equipped with swivel casters?

My work boots are Redwing. About 25 years old. They were discontinuing them. 'bout time for a new pair.
I’ve wanted a small hotsy unit for a long time. That’s it, right there!!!
Yikes that thing is Bogging down pretty bad at 20:29. He may have the wrong Turbo nossel orifice size to match the pump output.

Great educational video!
You asked what type of boots you wear. I wear Brunt Ryngs for Lawn and Landscaping and Brunt DiStasios for Tree Climbing and Felling.
Crazy warranty 5 to 7 years lol crazy would be lifetime. This was a nice hotsy ad.

I used to use an Aladdin 240 volt with a burner for heat. It was about the size of this second one. God it was amazing at everything.
The AR pumps are made in Italy for sure? USA quality at it's finest, nice riggs? I repair P/W's, so I know what's good and what's not? Good job, sir.
I like HydraCell pumps myself but I'm pumping liquid butane at 700psi so diff app but I know these are used in PW apps too

pressure washer goes brrrrrrrrrt lol
They use an eley hose reel, i see. Sucks they only do a 90 day pump warranty for that price point. Should be 1 year.
Ur right, it does sound like an a10 warthog.
Anyone that works on heavy machinery knows the value of a hot water pressure washer
Hey if I had crazy money to spend as a homeowner, I'd try it... but this is just way beyond my range
19:15 he blow off the red cap for grease point lol

What exactly was it that 99% of people don't know?
That spending 10k on a unit thats similar from northern tool for 5k is silly.

Your bobcat is assembled with common parts that any manufacturer can piece together and put their name on, hotsy is #1 for a reason
Please don’t add captions it’s rather annoying

120 volt , 20 amps , seems like a lot of tripped breakers , am I missing something
No, you're not, I had to have an electrician install a dedicated circuit for my hotsy
Steam cleaners are the best pressure washers for removing dirt and grime
That’s awesome
I love brunt!!!
Vanguard NO THANKS, Give me a Honda!
$300 nozzle 😭. You can get a turbo nozzle for like $20
Great video
But I can't believe these companies let their reps chew while doing u tube
Very unprofessional in my book
