People that break down questions and explain things without being condescending are the some of the greatest people to walk this earth.
thanks appreciate it :)
i was the 1000th like on your comment
Sheesh
LITERALLY! My english lit teacher treats us like we are stupid. It means a lack of confidence off the back of that = worse results. For some students, a lack of confidence can mean everything to ones outcomes.
@@discobutterflycuz you are stupid. You guys go into English class without knowing what a thesis is🤦♀️
I'm in my WORST academic era right now, everything just collapsed when my Math score came out (lowest in my class even though my other scores are top-tier) and it's the only problem I have in high school so I really need to change my mindset to tackle it even if I don't want to. Thanks for sharing your experience, this helps a lot and heals me at the same time!
No problem! We’ve all been there
I’m struggling with the exact same thing like EXACTLY and this motivated me so much knowing im not the only one
Go watch Professor Leonard that man never disappoints.
@@nianaro thank uu ill check him out
literally me
I'm currently in my academic flop era and it's really putting my mental health under strain. Growing up, I was a "gifted child", so i basically never studied and still graduated in the top 1% of my school. Fast forward to university, I'm drowning in assignments, readings and exercises, I doubt that i will even pass my first set of exams and I don't know what to do. I've never learnt how to study and i based so much of my self worth on grades that this semester is really going to affect me. My first exam is in 2 days, I will use these tips and hope and pray that I pass.
You got this mia! It’s so important to learn HOW to learn. Think about anything else you do in life. Once you start implementing them things will change.
Ikr it's so hard to study when u hv already been a gifted student ur whole life and never learned hard work And focus. I used to just do the bare minimum and still come up in the top 10 of my grade but now in my final year I really wanna climb my way upto number 1 but I really don't know how, I've been stuck on the same percentage past 3 papers no matter how hard I try there is no improvement.
Its exactly the same for me.
Imagine doing great academically but you are about to be forced to quit college for the fourth time because of financial problem and it's dirt cheap
I believe the majority of us have a academic problem when we transition from high school to college or univeristies where the world kinda turns upside down. I do believe with time and failing with the aim to learn something from it is still the best strategy to improve. Awesome video btw.
Thanks man
School strategy never ever works out in university. It took me dropping out of uni to deal with academic change, strategy change. I don't regret it because that drop out gave idea on what I was doing wrong and *bang* I am happy about it.
Glad to hear that!
I got hit really badly a couple of months ago and I'm having the worst experience in academics. It doesn't help that I'm at the top of my class and my family expects me to maintain that spot as I've had but lately I've been doing worse and worse with my grades. So here I am seeking out advices to salvage anything, been watching everything so that I can finally enact my academic comeback. Thank you very much 🙏🙏🙏
You got this man tough times never last
@@anthony.zhang_ Thanks, you've definitely earned a subscriber 🙏🙏
Last year of high school here. I grew up as a “gifted kid” which prevented me from learning how to study because of my reliance on talent. I was top student till Year 12 where I went from 1st to around 15th (out of 90 in our year). One thing I’ve learnt that has made me kept up perfect grades this year so far is to destroy what I know and always hungering for more. It’s replacing phrases like “I’m so smart” or “I’m dumb” to “I can learn this” or “if I try then I know I’ll get it”. It’s about a growth mindset. Don’t be so fixated on being one thing. We’re human because we change.
100% let go of the ego and learn from your mistakes!
I am facing same situation . My grades dropped to the point l barely able to pass and my CGPA is lowest in whole class 😢 . The drop will drag me to the point even if l got perfect score in each semester I would so much behind 😢 thinking this making me throw up 😭
Im at my worst in academics right now and im really stressed. This video really opened my mind on what to start on and what to stay consistent on. Thanks alot for this
You got this!
It's my last year of high school and in the last days of May I have to give my final exam in History and some other subjects but mainly history and I'm super stressed because of how much I need to cover in 4 months. So far I haven't really taken it seriously but these 2 last weeks I have been using active recall and now I actually remember what I read in history. My issue is that I get really tired when I get home and most times I just give in and sleep and then tell myself I'll study after but it doesn't work. Its really hard staying disciplined and none of my friends really get it. They just say "it's okay you need to rest" even though I haven't really done anything. My teacher says I need to study 6 hours a day in order to pass the uni I want to go to and I every time I sleep I feel guilty. I salute everyone who is procrastinating like me right now but hey galls. let's close our device now and go study and ace those tests we got ahead of us. I wish everyone the best of luck. if nobody believes in you, I sure do. let's get the grind going, those grades growing and the cash flowing :P
i've been really depressed lately and my grades have been dropping. this video came at the right time. thank you so much, i actually love you. i really want to start turning my life around.
i'm glad you enjoyed it - keep going
I’m in a really bad condition in terms of my academics..I’m procrastinating feels like the will to study is dead now..I never felt like that instead studying n getting knowledge about anything was something I was passionate about. I feel sorry for my parents. They always support me instead of making them proud,I’m laying in my bed doing nothing..I tried to discuss my problem with my friends but they didn’t took it seriously becz they think I’m exaggerating but only I know how difficult things are getting ..these days getting out of bed feels like achievement to me.. I was a person who can study 8-10 hrs consistently but now 2-3 hrs sitting consistently seems another challenge..here I promise myself that I will become a better person than yesterday n will achieve my goals..I know I can I have the potential instead of just thinking I am going to execute them as well n definitely give my best or the upcoming finals (in next 10 days)
i dont need your words, i need actions, so be better wake your ass off
I have my finals in about a month, and this is the best video I have watched. All the logical tips along with the correct reasoning. Not taking notes will be difficult for me, but I will try. Thank you for this video.
Glad you found it useful. Good luck bro smash it
Hey you, pre med student in France here , thank you for this very motivational video! I tried to put most of the tips that you gave in my daily student life, and things have increased a lot thank God, but what I find the most difficult is the competition, I alwayyys compare my work with my schoolmates and it is horible, I always feel super unmotivated when I see some of my grades , this is my 2024 goal inshaAllah I have to work on this cause it truns out the uni life into a nightmare sometimes. Keep going loved this video!!!
thank you. keep going with the good work - everyone has experienced that with the feel competition don't worry! the more you improve each time compared to the last, the less and less you'll care about how other people do. just make consistent progress - 2024 is our year fr!
This was really an inspiring video, thanks for that! I am currently a pre-med student and I'll be taking my test to enter med school by the end of the year, and recently I've just hit rock bottom regarding my academics and it has been stressing me out a lot, so this video did help me a lot. Thanks a lot for sharing your views :)
Thanks :) just doing little and often each day will go such a long way man
Thank you for sharing your experience! I found a lot of people in the comments with the same situation as me and it really helps to see that I am not alone. Academic life has never been hard for me, but now I feel like a failure to me and my family. I really want to get better and I try my best everyday, but the advice in this video sure helps a lot.
Keep pushing! The only way is up
Man I've hit the rock bottom this year honestly in academics, glad to know I'm not the only one, hopee to turn it around! Was always a topper of my class but this year failed in a subject as well, hope it'll be better
Hey. Thank you.
I'm just sinking like the titanic bruv, the amount of backlogs I have is crazy.. I thought getting into medical was all that I needed to do but DAMN I was so wrong. I have about 5 months of backlogs and only 1 month for prep. I say to myself before going to sleep that I will study tomorrow and that tomorrow is not coming. Thanks a lot I'm going to focus on it from tomorrow (fr this time).
I'm in my worst academic era ever. I got my A level results yesterday and it wasn't what i expected. I was so heartbroken because i expected to AT LEAST get 3 Cs. At least, thats what i thought i deserved. I didnt fail... but its just not fair, i spent 2 years of suffering and what i got isnt..
But its fine, im going to resit and give it my all again. Thank you for this video :)
Bounce back you got this!
Man your OUTSTANDING , I mean you called me out and gave the solutions , appreciate that lots of, best of luck
Glad to hear man good luck
Saving this video for the end of this semester lets hope I dont need it
You have long way to goo❤ thank you for this video 👏
Thank you 🙏
thank you so much for this!! need to get my grades up from 70s to 80s and 90s to apply for Oxford this year, this video really helped me!!!!
keep grinding!
Regarding the copying notes at the beginning of the video, you made a very good point that listening is very important in the classroom. This is known as active listening. Practicing this will automatically make you a much better learner or understand much better. When you are trying to copy notes from the board while the teacher is speaking at the same time, it might be difficult to listen and remember what is being said properly. My high school teacher posts the power points/ class material that they are going to use prior to the lesson on platforms such as Google classroom or they email it to us, or they post it after class. Then we won't need to worry about not having the notes and we can focus on what the teacher is saying. Maybe if any of your teachers don't do this, you can kindly request that the teacher send the notes/PowerPoint they use before or after the lecture so that you can copy it at a later stage by explaining that you want to listen to what the teacher is saying and find it difficult to copy notes and listen simultaneously.
Wow amazing detail haha
Thanks bro ive got exams this year really motivated me
ill come here after one year and you will be shocked with my improved performance i bet
let's gooo love that
Amazing advice. Really needed this.
Great video! simple, actionable tips. Thanks Anthony
Glad you liked it!
I already love your channel
Thanks means a lot
Having discipline over being dependant in motivation is an important point, but you can't just flat out ignore motivation. I think it's more productive to control your environment previous to getting into the study session, this allows you to have a boost from your surroundings that impacts positively your work, instead of facing tough decisions and getting burnout in a matter of months or even weeks. Keeping the discipline for important decisions and using pure momentum to break through the smaller less important choices can make the difference.
Active recall is literally the main reason why I’ve always done so well in math and also the reason why I’m pursuing a math degree this stuff really works you just need to be able to apply it
Thanks for this gonna try applying your tips got my mocks for a level in like a month .Hope i do well 🙏
year 12 student and my dream uni has really high requirements. i gotta lock in 💪
I just began my med school and it's the WORST time I have ever had. I fail almost everything, I study, but it's never enough, I don't know how detailed my knowledge has to be, I cannot focus, I worry about being the worst of my classmates, and I have no idea what to do anymore...
focus on YOU. Don't compare yourself to others - keep trying different studying techniques until you get one that works for YOU
You are inspiring people keep it up mate👊
Thank you! Will do!
i have 2 siblings who are both 1 and 2 years older than me and we were always held a high academic expectation so most of my school experience i’ve always been a top student but i really started to kind of struggle when in the second semester of g10. I am now in the exam week of the first semester of my g11 and i’m failing ela and doing average in other classes. I don’t know what happened but one day i think like too many kids, i’ve been told that i was doing good in school because I was smart and was never told it’s because i chose to put time and effort in. It was an ego crusher to get those bad grades and it made my parents dissapointed. I’ve now decided to start putting working and putting time and effort and learning how to study before i get to university. Merci chère inconnue si tu a lu tous ça i just wanted to vent a little. Thanks for the video and I hope I can look back at myself in the future and be glad this happened sooner than later.
even though that my grades are pretty good at the moment I have still learned from this video. Thank you!
This is great, highly articulate
As a person who wants an academic comeback i got excited when i randomly found this video .previously i was appreciated and when i got less i was detained by the same persons. my life just flipped upside down and now its the time to fight another war for me.i believe good will happen ❤
You got this man!
Thank you so much for motivating me and helping me to realise that I can achieve what I want to.
Yep fight those limiting beliefs!
Yes
Good Video, helped me really much and made my self a better leanrner.
I've always been a smart kid and my older brother as well. He graduated and gave me good advice (im a Junior in high school). After he graduated, he took a year off before starting community college, to give himself a break to think of what he wanted to do. Now he's studying sociology and he wants to transfer to a Law school after getting his bachelor's. I think it's a good idea because in college, you can start fresh. Gap years are even better though because after high school, its important to take a break because you're still figuring things out. He still lives with us and he got accepted into Columbia with a 3.97 GPA. He'll be moving at the end of this year and he told me to just take it slow. You have all your life after high school, it's not worth it stressing about college when you're fresh out of high school. You'll just burn yourself out if you do that. I know that doesn't really have anything to do with the video, but I myself was struggling mentally because I was stressing out about college applications and my grades and all of that. For those who need to hear it, you will be OKAY. Things will work themselves out. You will figure yourself and your future out, but it will take time.
Thank you so much, this video is so inspiring and giving me a fresher perspective on my actual study methods and why some of them are not effective. I’m going to try these out and hopefully my grades will improve and I will try to be more disciplined 😭 but thanks again, just subscribed :) !
I'm so glad!
Ok wow.
I really needed this, I'm in the middle of my exams right now and I just can't seem to get my head straight but this helped.
It gave me alot of mental clarity. Seriously, thank you :)
Your welcome :)
I'm in year 11, school is really bad for me right now. But I am willing to make an academic comeback.
That’s the spirit!
It really breaks me down when you were a top student to literally at the bottom of the barrel, even though I keep being consistent. Uni is actually different built, now I’ll grind it out and use these techniques that are being told in this video
This is such an informative video,
Thanks for your advices,
And keep posting these types of videos! We all are always with you😊
Thank you! These comments keep me so motivated :)
*disciplined to keep making more ;)
I had an exam in December that I worked so hard on. I was proud of myself over how much I had done, and I even stressed about the exam although I was confident. I just got my grade back and I nearly failed, and now I'm sitting here - watching this video - and wondering if I should even put effort into anything I do.
keep your head up high bro 😎 do some deep reflection - review your study techniques first (remember study hard, not smart). Never give up man, never.
I`ll try not to! thank you so much!@@anthony.zhang_
i am in the same page. i worked so hard in exam, and i nearly failed too. i give all in this exam for nothing. i was so depress. i wonder if teacher hate me or something. i was so sad. i tryied study even more, now i am waiting for my 2º exam, i hope i will pass.
I don’t watch a lot of vids like this but I decided to click on this one because I really wanted to lock in, and this was rly helpful. I’ll keep these in mind. thanks 😄
yessir! lock in. 2024 is our year
Got 4.3 sgpa out of 10 3 backlogs things aren’t hard i am kinda aware what should be done Happy for the the fact that i got this awareness ❤
thank youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
Been Preparing for 6-7 months for an entrance which is in another 15 days. Few days ago i almost gave up and thought of not attempting this time. I was so stressed and worrried almost fell sick. But then i gathered up courage to at least revise what i have covered and do my best.
I have finals in 8 days for two weeks (seven subjects) and I need to get my grades up so I can apply to med school abroad in the uk your videos are really inspiring me to get that life hopefully 2024 in my year.
you got this! 2024 is our year.
U got this!

how is it going?
@@blaak_ just got my grade out of 100% for all subjects combined I got 96.74%
I'm going to year 10 this year and right now I'm struggling with English so badly(lowest in my class, every single time even though I study so much), I wanna make a change to this so for my next exam I'm going to do everything you said in this vid.
Currently in year 2 mbbs,tq for the video man..wish you Goodluck and success
Thanks you too bro 👊
I'm in year 11 too and I feel like I'll fail this year. I'm so freaking stressed. Your video was motivating, thanks!
Same here
I finished year 11 with 2 Ds in English and maths which was surprising since I was an E average student, so I was happy and went onto a college course, my twin sister got A*s (about grade 7 I think) and did her A Levels at the same college, then she went to uni and graduated, with my graduation just a year later, to the surprise of everyone. I currently have a bachelor's degree with honours but still no GCSEs above grade 3 😅 (but do have functional skills level 2 in English)
I was the top student of my class all my life, but I received extreme pressure from my Asian parents throughout it all, and I ended up developing a neurological chronic illness due to the high stress and anxiety in my last year of high school. I am currently taking a gap year and hoping to get back to who I was so I can get into med school.
About to start year 11 and literally freaking out 😂😂 thanks for this vid now I feel like I have a chance to not fail everything lol
All the best with your academic journey
I'm in University and I'm waiting this video now 😢
I completed my school with a great result and got into one of the best college . but I waste half of my 11th class and i have exam in 2 weeks . i am going to fail because i did not study a single word . i am so afraid rn how to start . but i believe i can also do it . thank you . i will become the topper again
This is so inspiring i flopped my classes from being one of the top students to one of the lowest and seeing my parents dissapointment crushes me so im gonna go tryhard now

I've been getting hit hard mentally and I'm trying to recover.
I owe myself 2 years of academic performance.
I got sad and cheated and now I don't know anything.
mental health first always bro, do the things you enjoy
I'm probably having the best academic year of my life but it all could go wrong soon.
started off this quarter with a 43 in ap chem (yeah i know it's not that surprising), but the rest of the year is been getting Bs to high Bs. i joined theatre and put a whole lot of other extracurricular things on my plate and that's when i noticed my grades plummet. not anymore. currently taking action and high hopes i got a majorly high score on my last test, and more to come
Thanks i have bad grades ill start studying better tomorrow
As a 20 y/o High-school dropout whom is going to university next year to study computer science but needs certain qualifications to meet the entry criteria, i needed this. Thank you.
good luck bro!
My maths results have dropped. All my subjects have maintained an A and B for the year except Maths which I got a C. My science subject is also now a B. Last year I got A in mathematic and science. I need this
the grade 11 thing is so real
Guys I believe in you!
Let's put our effort and get those grades we wished for🤓
100%. Let's win TOGETHER.
I also got an average of around 30-40%in my mocks. Thanks for this video. Everyone keeps telling me I have tome but others are sayiong i will fail. Now that I can see someone thats actually done it I feel like its actually doable. Once again a very big thank you.

currently in my fear of failure era because i was always that topper student in school but ill make a comeback for sure
I realized that at school i was not studying at all, now at university i struggle very much with a discipline, and i feel myself goddamn awful now
many of us including me was in a similar position. work on the discipline now!
Why are you soo underrated?!!
Thankyou so much for this
thank you :) glad you enjoyed

Hahah love that
thank you so much for this! im currently doing levels and aiming for A*AA, working at AAB rn just wondering if it possible :')
yes 100%! Keep working you got it
Do past papers from your examination board it helps you over familiarize yourself with the layout and time ( I found that the more I did them during my a levels the more fun it got solving each problem) , I got my A in accounting that way of course it may not work for all subjects and you need to understand basic concepts before attempting a mock
Ive always been a straight A student but I had a traumatic injury which caused my grades to plummet. Combined with severe unmedicated anxiety and ADHD, Im failing all my classes :(
Like others in the comments I’m starting my final high school year, yr13 in a few days and I’m already behind on my assignments. I grew up as a gifted child and never studied in my life and struggled heavily with procrastination. I don’t know what to do this next and I’m scared that I’ll back to my cycle of procrastination again and fail out on my assignments and final IB exams.
I can actually relate to this video's content.I feel like this video was made for me
glad it’s relatable man
It’s week 2 in the quarter and I already need a come back
You got this 💪
Im a premed student currently in ny first drop year. It feels like maybe im wasting a year. No academic combacks following no motivation to do so. Its winter so i find it hard to get off my bed every morning. I really really hope i get into a good med school this year. I really want this and i hope i put your advices into good use. Maybe discipline is over motivation and i hope i can do it. Thanks a lot for the guidance
