  • In this episode we start cleaning the B19 Sleeper! Its the first cleaning it has received in 16 years! Lots of dust, spiders, and crusty crud everywhere. We love our Bigfoot B19 trailer, it has the awesome 80's vibe and we hope to make further videos showing our progress! If you are just a tuning in there are other episodes that show our progress and some good visual tips for those Bigfoot lovers!
Little background, we bought the camper last year and it was essentially sitting for 16 years under a dirt carport in Oregon and it was being swallowed by thorny vines back into the earth! Not kidding, we discovered some remaining vines in this episode!
The first episode shows the removal of the frame from the camper since it was damaged, click here:
    • We Bought a Rare Vinta...
Second episode shows the rusty frame restoration and repair of the front end, click here:

    The third episode shows:

    Gelcoat repair.
Reinstalling the shell onto the frame.
Flipping the axles, under-over spring kit for more height. Applies to B17 trailer and more.
Previewing the neglected dirty interior in full detail!
Finishing off the gelcoat sanding and buffing for one of the repaired areas.

Enjoy watching your restoration project thus far. Lived out of a little trailer about a year in my youth on a farm. Also he'd a VW camper van for several years. Its enjoyable to pick up on a whim and go interstate'ing.

I bought the same style lights for my 1983 Bigfoot. I will install them this summer. I had the exterior lights all replaced to led. Looks great so far

Very nice, I'm doing the same approach, they use less power and often are much brighter. Thanks for tuning in!

Subscribed! I want to see how this turns out and appreciate that you're not gutting it and starting over. Clean it and fix or replace what you have to, but keeping the vintage (original) look is what I like.

Yeah we are in the Bay Area and the past month it has been pouring really heavy. Thats why you see the cover on the camper because we haven't refurbished the windows or roof yet; that should in a future episode as we get dryer weather. Thanks!

@@b19sleeper9 YOU COULD USE A DEHUMIDIFIER TO DRY THE CAMPER OUT.

Great video! What bulbs did you buy for the interior lights?

    • @b19sleeper9
      @b19sleeper9  Рік тому +1

Thanks Eric, check out the video description for the link to buy them. The ones I got are 2700K which are really warm tone, but if I had to do it again I think the 3000k will give off a brighter tone while still being somewhat warm.

@@b19sleeper9 thanks for sharing the link! I followed it to buy some and not seeing any 2700k or 3000k. Most of the lights in my home are 2700k, and I think that’s a great choice for a general interior light.
