Tallulah Hula OMG! FANTASTICHE! :) I was only in Vienna one time, working on a TV commercial, in 1988- I walked around at night singing the music from "The Third Man"... eating kasekrainer...
***** Ah, I love the Third Man Theme. LOL I am planning since ages to finally make the 3rd Man Tour through some of the canals they filmed in and such, but never got round to. I hope you liked Vienna back then?
Mention should be made that at exactly 1:52 is a picture of Von with Jr. Laemmle to his left..........Julius Jr. Laemmle scion of Universal Pictures founder Carl Laemmle was the first boy wonder of Hollywood........not the oft mentioned Irving Grant Thalberg.
Thank you SO much for uploading this tremendous doc! The narrator is the great actor Edward Binns: www.imdb.com/name/nm0083081/?ref_=tt_cl_t7 My Grandfather, actor/director Abner Biberman (brother of Herbert and Edward), was one of the original members of the Group Theater, and was Clifford Odets' roommate while Clifford was writing "Waiting for Lefty"... How ironic that I am a Libertarian Objectivist and a 100 percent Ayn Rand and Ludwig Von Mises and Murray Rothbard disciple! God/Darwin Bless America!
You're welcome. :) Erich as a genius and one of a kind. Too bad MGM got formed while he was working on Greed. Just 2 years later and the ultimate masterpiece wouldn't have been butchered to death.
+soapbxprod I will always remember Abner Biberman as Bogart's henchman in The Roaring Twenties...Love that movie--Abner Directed alot of greatmovies and TV too...Thanks for sharing your story.
+johnnynoirman My pleasure! Abner's two brothers were Herbert (one of the Hollywood 10 and a Soviet apparatchik- Abner disowned him over it) and Edward, who painted the Abbot Kinney mural in the Venice Post Office...
Thank you ever so much for putting this up , it is wonderful.

This is a VERY late reply but did you by any chance interact with Mr. Ed Binns? He's one of my favorite old actors and I love to learn about him!!
