    That was such a stupid statement to say that the guy had no idea it was John Waynes daughter he assaulted. I don't care if she was a homeless person NO ONE has a right to put their hands on another person NO ONE.

      Although I agree, you got to see it from the criminal's perspective. Attacking the daughter of a high profile celebrity attracts way more attention. If this was a case of an attack on some random homeless person, there wouldn't be an episode of this series about it, right? By the way, unwanted attention was one of the reasons the Hillside Stranglers let Catherine Lorre go, daughter of actor Peter Lorre, back in 1977.

    IMO, Tamron Hall has found her niche in life. She is an excellent host for Court TV and she is a natural beauty, unlike so many women who ruin their beauty with plastic surgery. Daddy did a great job raising his daughter! Aissa Wayne presented in court as a top notch, truthful and intelligent witness. How fantastic that she turned this negative - a violent, malevolent ex husband, who plotted an horrific attack on her and her boyfriend - into a positive, and launched a successful career as a prosecutor. The Duke would have been proud!

    I never understand why both parents don’t figure out how to have joint custody? Of course, if it is shown that one person is not fit to be a parent, joint custody is not merited, but this not relevant for this case. Why aren’t parents willing to do whatever it takes, to do what is best for:this child. If one parent is toxic, that’s one thing, but money shouldn’t be the only factor. All this bickering just emotionally hurts the child.

      A lot of us know first hand, a degree in any profession means nothing. There are violent, narcissistic, sociopaths in every walk of life.
      Like they say, doctors bury their mistakes. What are they really held accountable for? An attorney told me that doctors win 75% of the cases ever brought against them. They also protect one another in that field. I know that this story has nothing to do with medical malpractice but arrogance goes hand in hand with certain professions by a large percentage. Usually their is an underlying self esteem issue.........

    If the ex-husband had nothing to do with it then why would the one guy that was attacking the woman tell her she was messing with the wrong people instead of them saying it to the man? Also, they didn’t have to ask her name; they had been informed who she was but the ex wanted them to make sure they got the right man she was with.. also, he may have told them to do that to throw everything off and make it look like he was the target.

      I was impressed that unlike her wealthy siblings who don't work ( except Patrick) she became an attorney to help other victims until it was pointed out to me that she hasn't even helped or taken one case. I called her "office" in both Los Angeles and in Malibu ( she had that office for two months). Calls were NEVER returned not because she was overwhelmed with clients but because she just never got around to helping anyone. I asked the realtor at her Malibu location why her office was closed and she said she had changed her mind and is working out of her Malibu home. I went to that Malibu office about 6 times in 2 months and NEVER saw it open even once. I did see her when she first opened the office overlooking the parking lot on her balcony but didn't know then she had an office until I saw it advertised on line. I believe she just opened a second office as a sham.

    This trial happened in 1988. The Duke died in 1979. I believe if he had still been living this would have been a totally different trial. I loved seeing the big city pompous lawyer go back to New York City with his tail tucked between his legs. I saw a trial in a small town in Kentucky and one of the litigants was so lowdown that no local lawyer would take her case, so she hired this big shot Yankee lawyer who breezed into town, and he was going to show those southern boys a thing or two about how to represent a client. He too headed back north with his tail tucked between his legs because those dumb old southern boys beat him soundly in the courtroom. His client lost...big time.
    I just finished watching the last of this and Jim Carlton who is a retired reporter for the LA Times, said the same thing I did. He said if John Wayne were still alive this wouldn't have happened because Wayne was old school and he would have gone after Gionis with his bare hands. I sort of wonder if it would have gotten that far because I think because Wayne was larger than life, his reputation alone would have kept Gionis from doing anything to his daughter.

      No! I personally know of crimes that have been committed and not only have the victims not seen justice but their crimes arent even investigated. The family of a woman killed in the street had to go door to door asking people if they had a video of the crime. The police didn't bother.They can't sue the criminal because they can't get a lawyer because there is no money to be made. The victim was a frumpy middle aged woman.She didn't matter. My developmentally disabled brother got genital herpes from a driver responsible for his transportation. He took him to his home and raped him then altered the return time in the transportation log. When I filed the police report the police officer asked me for the rapists phone number instead of getting it from the school employers. The rapist was never contacted or interviewed. Look at Epstein and how Maria Farmer went to the FBI a decade before anything happened. Those teenage girls didn't matter. These things happen EVERYDAY to people. Look at the pedophile priests who for centuries committed crimes. Many times the community including law enforcement wouldn't even investigate the childs claims. NONE of the victims came from wealthy families.

      @christinanielsen1917 Рік тому

      Crimes are rarely investigated and the majority of victims never see justice. Look how Epstein got away with pedophilia for decades. Maria Farmer went to the FBI a decade before. Never even investigated for over 10; years. Aissa Wayne matters. She's wealthy.

    Gionus is a dangerous man with lots of money. 5 yrs would not stop him.i The attack or murder would be by professional hitmen, such as those tied to the mafia, who know how to do the job,and remain untracable. , no evidence to show they were hired by Gionus.I am amazed this didn't happen

    Can you imagine the hit man? He thinks he’s hired to scare a rich house wife and bang up on her new boyfriend. Then the police tell him the rich housewife is John Wayne’s daughter? That had to be kind of a head trip. I’m glad she turned her life into one of service. I hope the hit man learned some things too.

    Justice was done. The ex-husband went to excessive intimidation methods to revenge and scare his ex-wife. But the most important is the detection of a Mafia mind which was defeated. 5 years in jail is a long time. I guess the relationship father/daughter was ruined too but there’s no reference to that😮😮

I'm glad that he was convicted but because he initiated cutting that man's achilles tendon, he absolutely should have lost his license. First of all, I don’t know what they do in the mob…but most people don’t send enforcers to do a job with a memo saying “to John, from Joe” unless you intend for the receiver to be too dead to talk. Of course he didn’t say “this is for Tom”!!! In fact he probably instructed them to make it look like it was about the guy so the finger wouldn’t be pointed at him. Also, it’s pretty stupid to expect me to believe that someone else separate from the defendant and this situation hired the same PI to do this to Roger and it’s just by convenience that your ex-wife is involved. They must’ve thought this jury was stupid.
