    Hey Josh.... I just wanted to thank you for a great summer!!!! I sold my Roadtrek in May.... and spent over THREE MONTHS looking for the ULTIMATE little camper... it was my passionate OBSESSION to find THE right one... keeping in mind.... I went through THREE motorhome last year alone, so I'm a picky bugger...... anyway.... your videos were just SO fun, entertaining and informative to watch.... and believe me.... I watched DOZENS, gee... maybe a hundred... of YOURS!!!! I don't even know... I just know whenever I saw a unit that I was interested in, and YOU had a video???? it was a "thank you Jesus" moment!!!!!!!!! anyway... I FINALLY settled on a Puma Palomino 12fbx.... and it is just the perfect unit for me.... best wishes and a blessed holiday season to you and your Bro !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I like this camper Josh. We have camped for over 20 years and never had a TV. We usually camp in a national forest so having darker interior colors is a must so my wife isn't cleaning the whole trip.

    I really like my solar. Living in a hurricane hit area it gives me that peace of mind. If we ever get displaced or have to stay in our Jayco after a storm. I can run the generator at night and save fuel during the day but still have my refrigerator going.

    I'm not a Jayco fan, but this one would definitely be a contender. Compared to the '23 North Trial 24BHS from the other day, this particular Jayco comes out on top everyday of the week and twice on Sunday. Even in the video, the quality of this Jayco is clearly evident. It definitely conveys quality throughout, imo. Super nice rig, amazingly affordable (generally speaking).

    Love the taller ceiling! Bunk sleeping will feel less like you are in a coffin. No sink necessary in the camp kitchen. They are usually so small that you end up making a mess by splashing water everywhere. It looks like the camp kitchen is not too high to work with. I’ve seen some Cherokee’s that the camp kitchen is so high up that utilizing the counter space for anything other than storage is useless. You can’t prep food without the cutting board being shoulder high. We short people would need a step stool. Thanks for sharing, Josh!!

    Good looking blue bird 🐦 You know I'm on "Team Draining Sink" with any outside kitchen, but the drawers and counterspace are useful, and do like the included grill and placement. Thanks Josh! Be well out there.

    I like this one, it’s small but packed with lots of features. I think the outdoor kitchen needs an awning. The tv can always be put on a swivel to be seen better, I’d replace the mattress in the bedroom with a true queen, and I’d put a medicine cabinet where the plain mirror is above the sink. I’d also go with the package with the 15000btu AC unit, it’s hot where I live. 😀

    Hurray, no carpet under the dinette! I never understood having carpet where you have people eating on a camping trip --- that sounds like a guarantee of a grubby carpet to me. The table adaptation idea is great, and we've always loved being able to move the table out of our trailer to use outside and I would never have known you could adapt a pedestal. That's useful info and something I'll keep in mind when we start shopping. My DH would probably have thought of it, though, since he can fix anything -- when we bought our last trailer, he asked "How much is the broken one over there in the mud?" and he spent a summer restoring it, and we've had it for decades. You never know, next time, we might even buy one that works 😃. Anyway, back to the Jay Flight. I like this one. It's great for famiiies. There's a surprising amount of counter space in the kitchen. To your question re: AC -- I don't think bumping it up to something more expensive would be worth it at this price-point. I wish they'd get away from the dark brown cupboards. Not a fan of brown upon brown upon brown decor. Something that WOULD be worth a price increase would be more solar. To your question re: the sofa options,I think a jack-knife sofa is the best option --- but I'm really glad Jayco offers several options, not every family wants the same thing. I don't think the TV is a big deal, since we don't go camping to stay inside and watch television. I like the changes to the camp kitchen -- big fan of cooking outdoors when camping.

    • @waynekern8471
      @waynekern8471 2 роки тому

      Yeah you can do a bunch of work and have a dinette table that works for you but why would you? I doubt anyone is choosing a pedestal table over one that is movable in the first place so why not just have the movable version? Also when you pay that much money who wants to do the work to switch it out. You also have holes in the floor & bottom of the table from where the pedestal attached to fix or live with.

    I love the matching slide floor. Carpetless is nice, but I prefer the matching floor like this over the new marine grade flooring that a lot of others have.
    Interesting bathroom, with the split. I guess theoretically, someone could use the sink while someone else is using the shower/toilet. Personally, I'd rather see a separate shower, then the toilet and sink together. I think it's more useful that way.
    Good to know about the stabilizer jacks, was wondering why it didn't have the new style.

    Really digging this. The kiddos or occupants of the bunks don't really have a lot of changing room, so would be nice to work out a door or maybe a rod and curtain. I think I'd like to add one of the flip up counters for a little extra C'top space. I agree that a med cab would be welcome here. Plenty of room for the boys and the pups here for sure! I think that the flip fold couch makes a lot of sense for storage, but it is nice to have something to prop your feet on, so one I've the slide out "trundle" type storage ottomans sort of hide-a-bed would be cool. I can't recall which company does those tho. I like how the toilet is less "in the middle of the road". We have some balance issues in our family so having direct access to shower is nice. Is there an aftermarket "shower miser" type devices? Thanks man, you do such a killer job at getting into nutty gritty, show road mode, illustrate how a taller person will fit and boy do I appreciate that you don't use the fish eye lense exclusively. Nice when you add it when it actually helps. Keep up the awesome work!!! 😎👍

    For me, 2 major things that I would have changed are no tub/ shower. Shower only for me. There 2nd item would be a countertop extender would need to be added due the SERIOUS Lack of counter space.

    I really like the outdoor utility management dock. Also if manufactures aren't going to do full size queens, I think they should do a jack knife love seat in the master room with a fold a bed like Ember is doing. That would be boss mode. I'd also like to see inverter prep on all RVs so if you want to expand the solar and go crazy.

    True queen is a go for me. I also like the jackknife in this model assuming it’s comfy. A swing arm would fix my issue with entertainment too. Also for the bedroom, I saw online that they make a roof mount swing down tv mount, what’s your opinion on those?

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  Рік тому

      I like them but there are some areas they don't work well. I sometimes see people say they want them in the living room -- until they stand up and the TV's hanging in the middle of everything and in the way
      In a bedroom it makes sense and these RVs have wood trusses that could likely support one

    Looked at this exact model today but a 22' at a local Windish Dealer in southern Colorado. Was going to pull the trigger as we are looking to go up in size from our current camper but the interest rates are stupid. Even though the outside sink didn't slide I prefer it with the sink. Also it seems the other 23 models of jay flight has the outside sink still but not this one?

    That trailer really needs a 15k btu ac. 13.5 won’t cut it for hot climates and that amount of space. The floor plan is very usable. The graphics are really nice. I would like to see a 2” receiver on the back.

    I really do like this one. The split bath is my only real sticking point. No privacy. I agree with the other commenter that if you're going to split a bath, put the potty with the sink. That's where the bathroom demand is when someone is showering. If they did a flip up storage bunk with a cargo door that would be great. Don't know why they don't. I don't think it's because of the camp kitchen because the Surveyor Legend bunkhouse does have both features. I would definitely want to put a swivel mount on the TV though.

My question is when the battery is removed for the winter, shouldn't I disconnect the solar panel from the solar charge controller as all solar experts recommend? Would have to pull the controller off the wall to do so but every solar expert i have seen says don't have a panel hooked to a charge controller with no battery in place. Though Bish's has dozens of these on the lot with no batteries in place and the controller connected.....Please advise.

    My wife and I are staying at Ocean Lakes Family Campground in Myrtle Beach, SC for a few days and we were out for a walk in the campground. I was surprised to see a Bish's RV mobile repair truck here in the park. I joked to the driver to "Say Hi to Josh when you see him" and he smiled. I didn't find a Bish's RV in this area though. Does Bish's just have mobile units strategically placed in areas of high need for service? On a side note, I've never seen so many RV's in huge storage lots and on dealer lots in my whole life as I have here. There must 20,000 or more just in the Myrtle Beach area!

    Hi there! We purchased the 2022 version of this with solar and now that it’s winter we have no clue what to do! I’ve taught very basic solar installation labs and what I know is that solar panels are always charging when not covered - I’m worried about unplugging the battery and not knowing where that small solar charge is going to (I understand it goes to the charge controlar first but then where). Do you have a video on winterizing with solar? 🙈

    As always, wish this had no bunks. Also could give up the dinette. I'd prefer the small AC and the ability to run it for a bit through a big dual battery solar system. Also with all the portable power stations out there, I wish there was an easy way to dump power from one of those into the pre-wired solar system. Like maybe an easy to access DC input that could dump power into your batteries.

      Most people would probably tell you "yes just hand me your money." But.. Despite the fact the GVWR on this is 7,000lbs which puts it within that towing range I probably wouldn't recommend it
      By the time you load cargo into this & load your family into the truck I'm pretty confident you'll have exceeded the truck's payload rating (not towing, but payload)
      You'll almost always exhaust payload before tow rating
