  • Our fascial system expands our body. It transmits force and allows for movement. However, when it gets disrupted (surgery, pregnancy, injury), it can profoundly affect our biomechanics. Here is one strategy to release adhesions through the fascia in the abdomen.

I know that nobody will read this, but perhaps for me another way to release tension. In June 2020, staying away from people during covid, my daughter & I would kayak and sail. I was her chaperone while she was sailing in her small boat. One day out, I saw some trash in the water and tried "backing up" , tide not in my favor, I felt and heard what was a tear or rip, searing pain after that, but I am a very physical person, who does more than the body is capable, so I thought I just did a bit much. Found later after weeks of not being able to sit or breathe, I tore my "six pack" up by the sternum bone. So, since this time, not nearly 4 years, I am still in pain with tight, hurting "torso" issues where I can no longer sit for more than 10 minutes due to pain. So, a great video, thank you!

Have you tried red light therapy? Or FSM Microcurrent? Also PEMF? Maybe some of that may be helpful.

@@blwin2, no, I have never even heard of these treatments? I live so far from medical facilities of any kind, so doing many treatments would be difficult, but I certainly would look into all that you have listed. For now, some pain meds, Tiger Balm or CBD cream and it does help, but only to a certain extent. Thank you for replying!!!!

This is so important and gets such little attention! You’re absolutely right that no amount of posture or awareness will help if the core and diaphragm are stuck. Great information!

I started this fascia release along with the pulling and rolling release. I had surgery and my scar is all the way down to my pubic bone. I've never stretch it after my surgery. I feel that this is the reason for my stomach issues now. Constipation, pelvic floor problems, stomach pain. I started doing the cobra stretch and it feels real tight.

Has repeatedly doing these releases helped in the long term? It’s been a year since you posted this comment.

Absolutely! Tight abdominals can create issues throughout your whole body. A delightfully painful, awakening release indeed.
