Dude, I woke up at 3am rode a plane to a different city and rode a bus for 6 hrs just to buy cream puffs from a bakery located only in that place. Hell yeah I'm waiting 4 hrs for a REALLY good barbecue!!! 😂
Yeah, I don’t understand how people travel and have no idea what to eat when they get there. Like, sure lets hike and see some sights but I need to eat. Some of everything. At least once. And, I want seconds.
@@qwallace4832 I'm just poor, but I'm going to England first to see CHELSEA
Where is this magical cream puff place located? I'm intrigued.
@@anthoneyurtz5689 oh it was from Victoria's Bakery in Baguio, Philippines. They had different flavored cream puffs (original, ube, melon, matcha, etc) so I flew from Cebu to Manila then rode a bus from Manila to Baguio just to try some. It was so good 😅
Respect.
I've been to Snow's twice. Once I got there at 3am and was 15th in line, the 2nd time I got there at 3:30 in the pouring rain and was 20th in line. Rain means nothing when it comes to amazing BBQ.
It's just barbecue... if you are waiting in line for hours your priorities are messed up man. You can get great barbecue without waiting so long if you just drive somewhere else. This is coming from a barbecue enthusiast...
Wonder what time you would have to get there to be first in line?
@@ObscureManifesto Why do you have to be such an ass?
@@ObscureManifesto If he is waiting in line for so long to get something, his priorities aren't messed up, he has them straight up figured out.
@@ObscureManifesto youre just upset because your life is so ass you cant afford to wait in lines 😉
I was excited to discover Snow's Barbeque SHIPS their barbeque!! My family and I are native Texans, but live out of state. We haven't had Texas barbecue in a long time, so we couldn't wait to order it. We were NOT disappointed. Despite being shipped frozen and vacuum packed, the meat was freaking INCREDIBLE (and their sauce is amazing).
now im going to try it to
The absolute best overall BBQ joint in Texas. Franklins has the edge on brisket but Snow’s ribs, sausage, turkey, smoked chicken, sauces, and beans are far better. They really improved their sausage texture over the last four years. I make the 50-minute trip from Austin several times a year. And prayed that Tootsie and the older lady owner of Marfa Burrito survived COVID so I could experience their food again. So glad you got the smoked chicken. It’s a must have ingredient for gumbo as well.
Snow's BBQ is a rite of passage for all Texans! You did it!
better than franklins?
Huh I've been in Texas since birth and have never tried this lol
How's it a 'rite of passage' when most Texans didn't even know it existed until this past decade?
@@wujujuju lol no.
Mikey! You have no idea how happy I am that you’re in Texas AND near me! 😊 i keep wishing I’ll bump into you! 😄❤️💕
I would love to meet him too!

By the time a video is uploaded, usually days or weeks will have passed.
@@j.d.4697 yup im aware :) im just tickled that his Texas apt is near where i live :)

Texas knows how to do BBQ right! 🙌🏽🤤
Honestly i'd just make sure to get up late on friday have a chill night and head on over to Snow's to be first in line and continuing the chillings.
Finish it all off with a legendary BBQ dinner on Saturday morning and just pass out in my car :')
Good plan 😅
Getting kind of deep, but food is honestly a big reason why I'm still here! When I was really depressed I would search new recipes and try new foods, so getting up early to try some delicious bbq is honestly on my bucket list! If people can wake up early for a flight or vacation, I'll go stand in line for a whole day to eat some awesome food
I'm glad you're still here! ;
Same! Food has always been my source of comfort. Hey I’m glad you’re still here! 💕
Same, tysm! 💞 Being overweight I have a weird relationship with food, but overall I'm glad it brings me great comfort ☺ Hopefully my love of food can bring me to eat with Mikey someday lol
I’m glad you are still here. I LOVE food Culture and People. Keep trying and making new foods!!!
Not just awesome food , but THE best in Texas 👍
I’ve already been (from the UK).
Was at least 3rd in line, met the super woman herself and got a custom sticker put on the wall. Fantastic bbq and my favourite joint during my Texas visit.
The BARBECUE SANDWICHES LOOK SO TANTALIZING!!
I live in a small town in Texas called Kerrville Texas about 45 minutes from San Antonio it’s a tourist town very small and i was watching your drive there in the county in Austin..don’t you just love this Texas view?❤️❤️
For BBQ made by the legendary Tootsie Tomanetz I'd be happy to drive one hour in the middle of the night and wait in line. It's a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
I’ve been to Austin four times so far in my life. Every single time I made sure to have some proper Texas barbecue. The brisket is simply the best ANYWHERE in the world, no matter which establishment you find yourself at. Totally amazing. I’ve been barbecuing (and slow smoking) for twenty years, and although my friends/family tell me my barbecue is the best, I have to concede that I am only a mere mortal in the barbecuing world, and that Texas defines the epitome of proper barbecue.
Your dedication to your craft definitely pays off. Early mornings, long days... well done mate. Love your channels 👌🏻
I was about to say the SAMETHING. I LOVE STRICTLY DUMPLING,!! Everymorning me and gam gam watch this !
That's the same for every job that pays off? With that being said from one grinder to another I respect the grind
I immediately knew who you were talking about - Ms. Tootsie at Snow's.
Her story made me bawl like a baby!! To go through what she went through and still do all she does, she's a powerful lady and I would wait days in line to give her a big ass hug
Happy to see Miss Tootsie still around. seen her on a few food shows. My husband thought she had died in 2019. so want to eat there someday
I watched a documentary of her and Snow's a few years ago too! Seeing her work SO DAMN hard starting before dawn is so inspiring. They deserve all of their success.
I seen her on Netflix
Fyi for those seeing this comment the place is Saturday only.
@@culdeus9559 thanks for that!
Totally respect that you arent afraid to take a REAL bite of food.
I love how much hype Micheal Chen puts into the food "fantasizing about it his entire life"
RIP when you cant eat banana pudding because it would give me diarrhea (lactose intolerance) but then Mike wishes diarrhea on you anyways
Did a BBQ tour of Texas 5 years ago... 3 guys drove from Dallas to College Station, Lexington, Lockhart, Austin, San Antonio, San Angelo, Lubbock, Amarillo, Wichita Falls and Fort Worth. Took us a week and we ate nothing but BBQ. You have to check out Lockhart, TX and let us know if you are SMITTY or BLACKS.
Blacks opened up in Dallas, so you dont have to go to Lockhart anymore for Blacks.
Smitty all the way, Black's isn't good anymore since the family split 😅
I’m a Kreuz fan, but Smitty’s is just as good. Brother and sister rivals! 😂
@@damonp357 that is the new Terry Black's from Austin. It is different than Black's in Lockhart. It is the grandson of the Black's in Lockhart. He is famous more now for his beef ribs. I think Mikey made it popular when he raved about it on his trip here 2 yrs ago! There is an original Black's BBQ in Austin run by Terry's uncle. There is always a family rivalry in all famous bbq places here. Even Snow's with Tootsie's son. He passed away though. I'll bet he would have opened his own since he learned all the "secrets" from his mom. 😂
Chisolm Trail all the way. 😉
If I was a tourist in the USA and had the same opportunity I would get up at 3am for the experience of eating amazing bbq.
All those burgers look so yummy
The cutting into the brisket was so awesome.
So glad you found the time to go to Snow's BBQ. Ms. Tootsie is such a legend!
I 100% would travel and wait for hours for great food 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻❤️❤️❤️
The wish for a lil bit of… made me spit my coffee all over my phone. Ur hilarious Mike!🤣💜
Netflix's Chef's Table BBQ - Volume 1 Episode 1 - Tootsie Tomanetz... one of the best feel-good stories I have ever experienced!!!
I remember watching that. It’s an amazing story.
Showed up at 4:05 this morning, we were 34th-39th in line. Regretting not ordering more pork steak!
My man this is the 2nd video I watched, the first was your video from Lancaster Pa. I have never seen anyone that can pack it away like you and keep going. You are my hero!
The algorithm also served me up the Amish buffet video first, then I checked out his channel and this is one of the first ones I had to check out next.
I love how real mike is. I bet he could have used his “status” to let snows know that he’s a food vlogger and showed how huge his channel is to get to the front of the line but instead he waits just like everyone else. A real down to earth guy!
You could be the president and not skip the line at Snow's! However, you can pre-order food and pick it up at a side window and "skip the line".
She was featured on Netflix Chef Table Barbecue. She's made it and Mike status would be irrelevant.
She’s a legend.. watched a few cooking shows where they showcased her mastery.. of course I would wake up at 3am and do what you and many others have done to experience her food.. plus it’s BBQ from Texas, so it’s a hell yeah for me… ✌🏼❤️
Super excited to have you in the area..In Tyler Tx they have a BBQ place that has a see through plexiglass active honey beehive that is in the wall (bodacious bbq )on 14 and i-20....Another place is Stanley's bbq ..
They have a sandwich called mother clucker which is a chicken sandwich with an egg on it 👍
My god...As much as Mikey shows off some amazing delicious looking food..I can genuinely say that I never wanted to eat something from one of these videos as bad as I do now!! That magnificent feast you got from Snow's BBQ looked absolutely heavenly and almost unreal.
I would 100% absolutely and without any hesitation go and wait in line at 3:00am to be able to eat some of that! Restaurants like that are rare and sadly becoming rarer everyday. Unfortunately they don't last forever and hopefully this isn't the case but a lot of times once the owner of a restaurant like that especially one who cooks everything themselves retires...a lot of times the food is never truly the same. I need to go there and try the food at least once before anything like that happens!
I live in Seattle so these videos are great to see places to visit. I've been to a few and they're great. So happy for Minh and Kelli too!
That brisket looks Devine!
That burger with the chilis looked so good 😭😭😍
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I was just talking about how I admire your dedication for food then you asked who else would wake up and wait 4hrs for bbq. I would not but depends the mood I'm in.
Also, it sucks having food regret but I am happy that you enjoyed yourself Mikey. I love watching you enjoy food.
If I’m by myself, I would totally wake up early and get in a 4 hr line for BBQ
Mee too lol
Girl u fine as hell u ain't gotta be by ur lonesome.

Why only by yourself
😁😁😁 4hr easy
For the people that want to go to Snow's without having to experience the long wait, they do offer to-go! I think you have to order by Wednesday and it might be meat only, but you can literally get the delicious bbq without the wait.
edit: the pork steaks there are to die for!
THAAAANK YOU for that info!!!! Super helpful........I can't stand in line to long (health reasons) but I WANT THAT BBQ!!!!❤️👍🏻
Is there a page on their website to pre-order and pickup to-go on Saturday? Can't seem to find it, only the shipping options. Thanks!
I stayed in a cabin near Snow’s and got in line at like 1230 am …. I was 1st in line …
I’m so happy I only live 20minutes from snows
We have drove down many times at 3am. Its worth the drive. The chicken is a hidden gem. Aaron Franklin told us to get it and the pork steak when we went to Snow's. Great video.
I saw that bbq program too. I think it was on Netflix. I lived in Dallas in the 90's and did a bbq roadtrip around the south. Went up to Memphis, KC, St.Louis. Some good bbq!
I'm glad you waited...like you say is this place 4 hours better than other great bbq places? I demand immediate satisfaction!😁
Texas bbq is legendary and looks so juicy and delicious 🤤.
I would do it and wait in the rain, that woman is absolutely a living legend! glad you made it there
If you want to check out more bbq places in Texas, suggest you look at the top 50 listing in Texas Monthly, where a place on that list is what bbq restaurants really work for
I got into Dallas Friday night and pretty much still undecided which spot I was going to, Snows or Goldees. Looked like Goldees was gonna be less challenging to get too. Next morning I woke up at 6am thinking I messed this up. I got in the car a drove out to Kennedale and by 7:30am their were at least 15 people ahead sitting in lawn chairs. Absolutely worth the wait in line.
I wanna say she was featured on a BBQ show on netflix where they visit a new joint each episode.
Chef's Table
I am from India and I knew about Tootsie long before she was featured in the Chef’s table. Quite shocking to see Mikey doesn’t know her despite being in the food vlogging business for so long.
I was just thinking he must watch Netflix.
I saw Snows bbq on ‘Texas Bucket List’ good show w Shane.
Me: waits four hours in line for a graphics card
Mikey: waits four hours in line for meat
And BOTH are EQUALLY as wanted !
Hi, Mike, I live in Dallas and I just wanted to say how happy I am that you are enjoying it sooo far also I would love to recommend you to review -GRIFF'S (burgers) -H & J Barbeque (great smokey and must try the spicy bbq sauce) -Sapporo Ramen & Grill (the tonkatsu is sooo creamy and goood) also -Kpop Burger & Crab King (has the juiciest burgers and great seafood flavor).. BTW you inspired me to start learning Korean! Thaaank you much love and care!
Griffs is amazing!!
@Seymour Dix how you like dfw
Meh griffs is okay nothing special
That Thai chicken sandwich looks..... INSANE!!!!!!!!
The BBQ looked delicious! 😋😋😋
Going on Saturday, it’s on my bbq bucket list! Thanks for posting and trying TX food!
Going have to try it 😁I fly for great bbq
@@timbrown6109 We got there right at 4am, and were 34th-39th in line. At 5:30 there was almost 150 people in line. Sat down around 8:30 and were done by 9:15. Totally worth it!

I can't believe they actually still use an electric knife. That's awesome simply because outside of my grandparent's house I have never seen any chef or cook actually use one. It was the coolest cutting utensil I had ever seen as a kid.
Always watch good stuff! Goals!!
I DID what you did. And I loved it! Just remember, Snows is for the brisket and ribs.
for a great day after eating at Snow's take the 5 minute drive over to Texas Skydiving in lexington and hang out with the donkeys and llamas then go for a skydive. it's always a good time.
Yes! Jewboy Burgers is so good! and golden Tiger is AWESOME!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I like how he’s confused by the rain n cold that came out of nowhere... this is Texas we have all the seasons in one day
Kinda like Florida in the winter. 😆
Alright guy. You have the same motto every other state in the US has. “Don’t like the weather? Wait 30 minutes!” It’s so played out.
Texas weather is truly bi polar. It's like o look we have a cold front coming around 6am....6am wind gust of 60 mph and 55 out side, 11am same damn day 90 degrees no wind humidity 80%...5pm 101 with random rain that no one said was coming 10pm 75 degrees and muggy.....roll the dice for tomorrow
@@jasoninthehood9726 except it ACTUALLY happens like that here in Texas.
U do? It’s not just EXTREME heat? 😂😂😂😂
Mike, when you're in Houston, go to Pinkerton's Barbecue, you won't regret it!

Yes, I would definitely wait hours for THAT barbecue..glad you were able to, and showed us about it; probably won't be in Texas any time soon (last I was there was 1977 at Fort Hood)..but that's okay, at least I live in Hawaii - keep up the good work//
Omigosh! That Thai chicken sandwich...WOW! And big thanks for the follow up regarding "Is it worth it?" The food is rarely as worth it as the experience of making the effort and sharing that with friendly, like-minded folks.
You seem like such a nice guy. I have been trying to figure out your story by looking at your channels, but you have food and science. Thanks for the videos.
I think this lady was featured on a docuseries on Netflix. If I ever get to Texas, I'll stand in line for four hours for sure!
3:20AM. You are one dedicated blogger. ❤
I have traveled thousands of miles for hotdogs all over America. Waiting in line for legendary food is a badge of honor

Would love to see mike swap to the Texas way of putting barbecue sauce on literally any and everything dry 😂😂
Food is the universal language that everyone can relate from all background.
My biggest dream is to go to a Texas barbecue! Just the thought of all the smoked tender meat especially the pork makes me insane!
I would wait in line forever for something is what I want or to try. Thanks for sharing.
Mikey waited 5 hours for the best ramen he has ever had. This better be the best BBQ he has ever had.
I've been there. It is.
He went back again for the same ramen. But he said here he won't go back to snow's or franklin for such a long wait
what’s the ramen place called?

I've been to both Franklin's & Snow's BBQ and like Mike says "They're worth the wait for the food & experience". I 100% agree both of these places are a must visit if you're a BBQ fanatic.
The experience matters as much as the food and you cannot understand it until you've been through it. I loved my time at Snow's and will never forget it. I highly recommend visiting.
Which had better bbq?
@@electricj5 - I preferred Snow’s overall. The brisket is soo close for both it’s a toss up but Snow’s sausage & ribs were better.
