I'm about to graduate college. One day I was seriously having anxiety about my life and studies and my dad drove me at 2am to Buc-ee's to buy sandwiches and talk in the parking lot. Buc-ee's is definitely a Texas comfort place

Except you have to get permission to go to the bathroom and can never sit down. Also 8 minute food break.
Lets not forget your not allowed to have your smart phone with you. If your have it on the floor, and the manager sees it, your fired.

I remember traveling in TX for work, there was one between Dallas and Tyler. Stopped there with my traveling partner thinking it was just an everyday truck stop. We didn’t leave for over an hour and dropped like $100 each on food and snacks for our hotel rooms. I miss that damn beaver.

As a Texan; you haven't been to Texas until you've been to Buc'ees. When my wife's family came to visit; they thought I was crazy for taking them to Buc'ees as a "tourist destination" but they loved it!!
My boyfriend is from Washington state and Ive been hyping it up for him and he still doesn’t believe that the shirt i got from him is from a gas station. Hopefully he can come down here for it bc it sooo good

I lived in texas almost 16 years before I first went inside a Bucees it's pretty cool
Buc-ee’s is the best thing ever. Going to it at night after a long marching band competition when I was in high school was so amazing. Drinking Icees and eating a brisket sandwich outside with your friends in the parking lot and going back on the bus driving back home to Houston is so nostalgic. Same thing with going there on road trips with the family. Buc-ee’s truly is a Texas treasure.

Yeah. My thoughts, too. Get a small insulated lunch pack and make up a kit with his chili oil, knife, fork and spoon, soft wipes, all the other condiments he might want to try. I always have a bottle or two of my homemade hot sauces in my truck. Just in case.
Being an Australian who also lived in a regional town, seeing videos of places like this always blows me away. Makes me really wanna visit.
I hope you can visit the States sometime soon. We might be a little different, but middle-Americans are generally friendly and excited to welcome foreigners.

I live 10 minutes from a Buc-ee's in Texas and let me just say....Buc-ees is definitely worth the hype. It is definitely the cleanest bathroom I've EVER used thats not my own home bathroom.

Except we have BBQ places that are run by texan's. A fellow graduate from my culinary school who lived in Kerrville worked for a time for Hill Country BBQ. The owner is from Austin. He said it was the real deal and he does ranch Barbecues!

As a gas station attendant in Texas, I wish I could get hired on at a Buc-cee's!! Sadly my 2 closest are this one and bastrop at about a 45min drive being the closest.

We have one in Florida and it is exactly the same as this one. Whoever came up with this concept and this menu is a genius. Without question some of the best food I've ever had.

One of the coolest things that had happened to me was while I was on a mission in Japan while I was in the Army, I just so happened to be wearing my Buc-ee’s t shirt and this kid at the NEX on the Yokosuka Navy base pointed at me and was like “BUC-EE’S!”. I got to talking with him and his mom and turns out they were from Houston( I’m from San Antonio) and it was sooo cool to just talk about home and of course, how awesome Buc-ee’s is lmao

I'm from San Antonio and I always visit Buc-ees when I go to Houston or Austin. Cool to see you cover this place! I always get the chicken strips with extra gravy and an extra strip along with a brisket sandwich. So good!

I was in Texas for a cousins Wedding and was all about trying the BBQ down there.
There for 7days and each day ate at a different steak house/BBQ joint. I'm not joking my favorite BBQ was when we were leaving, headed to the Airport we stopped at Buc-ee's! That shit was SOOOO good!

Always a great place to stop on a long trip in Texas. We love the brisket sandwiches. It's also a good spot to buy souvenirs and gifts. Their snacks are great too. They take it to another level.
as a european i gotta say i love the branding, and i guess the fact they are only in a couple of states probably is a good thing, this formula probably relies on economy of scale a LOT and it sure beats having a shit ton of locations, but that makes the branding all the more crazy, so much in-house stuff
It used to be only a couple locations. Its now expanding everywhere and the novelty of it is wearing off.
I think WalMart started in one US state but, as everyone knows, it expanded and now in all states. I think the same will be with buc-ees.
It’s also very specialized to the kind of people who live near its locations, and likely wouldn’t even be successful in a lot of other places without changes

In one of his videos, he went to about three or four different buffets in Japan and it looked like he ate nothing but food back to back throughout his video. That’s a lot of food. Lol

actually what I find when I walk in is the scent of the nuts they are making in a cinnamon and sugar coating... cashews, pecans, almonds.... it smells so good... then you get a hint of the BBQ.... Buc-ees is the place to go... a lifesaver in so many way

FINALLY tried the pastrami sandwich... We ordered one to share... But after just one bite, we realized we needed our own. So we ordered more, AND for the people we were with. You aren't kidding how amazing that sandwich is...from the pretzel bun to the sauerkraut to jalapenos...the mix of sweet and savory is perfection. Thanks for the review as we would have never tried it otherwise!

Welcome to Texas! I think another great thing about Buc-ees is that because it’s so successful, other rest stops and gas stations have stepped up their game. So I’ve seen tons of other places that are really nice (with really clean bathrooms and great food!) even if they aren’t Buc-ees.

QT followed by Racetrack are my favourite non-Buccee's gas stations, pretty good food, and the staff at QT are absurdly friendly.

Worked outside Houston area at Exxon BOP chemical all of 2015-2016 and drove home every single weekend. They had a Bucees 10 min from the plant where I would wipe down and change clothes, get my energy drinks and jerky for the ride fill up with gas and try not to spend over 100 bucks there every Friday evening! Gosh I miss having a bucees close to me hahah

I am Czech, and I live in Texas. Our Kolaches are 100% different than TX Kolaches. Ours are pastries, while the ones in Texas have sausage, ham, meats, etc. While they are totally different, I love both of them.
I like Hruskas in Ehllinger, TX
Lone Star - I was telling my kids about this video (since we stopped here a lot on trips to Sea World SA, and they mentioned how the kolaches at Hruskas were more authentic Czech. I joked that someone should coin the term "Tex-Czech" for the savory/sausage kolaches
Kolaches are the sweet pastries in Texas too tho like the jam/cream cheese/ poppy seed in the middle of a sweet bun thing. Some people just call pigs in a blanket (the meat//cheese ones) kolaches too even though that’s not what they are

As a bit of trivia. Before the 1950's in Texas most barbeque was sold at local gas stations. They all had pits out back and served brisket slices with sharp cheddar cheese, pickles, onions and jalapenos on butcher paper. No sauce. Also, Dude never ever eat a breakfast taco without salsa

We just got 2 of these in Georgia and we stopped at one on the way back from a vacation ( went out of the way!) It was so worth it but oh my! So overwhelming and sooo much stuff. It was insane.

there is a Bucee's next to where I live in Florida, definitely has every comfort food you would ever want. The bathrooms are immaculate, the staff are really friendly, and the food (for a gas station) is amazing. It's better than any 7-11, speedway, or Wawa I have ever been to. although the gas prices are about the same the quality of products sold there are great (although the Jerky can get a bit tough)

We Texans love Buc-ees. I usually go for the Massive BLT with extra tomatoes and extra mayo. They have everything and the restrooms are the best. They also have a great selection of caramel corn.
