I feel your pain. I’m rebuilding a 05 z71 Tahoe. I own other vehicles but it’s my favorite truck of all time. NO RUST. Which is unheard of and I’d like to modernize my ride. Thanks for this videos . I plan to go all out on my Tahoe . Prob a crate motor and and 8 speed
Your vid’s made me keep my 04 Tahoe. Was junked barely driven after my new job. Picked up some 20x10 Fuels on 35inch tires. Made me buy a leveling kit. I’m in love with it again. Can’t wait to clean it up good and start taking her everywhere.

I absolutely love this series! I wish I had the time and budget that you have to work on my '02 Tahoe (214k miles). I'm excited to see what you do for power adders since you want to get to that TRX level. When that happens you will definitely want to upgrade to the 4l80e transmission. I'm sure you already know that lol just excited to see the future videos!
My passenger side rocker on the rear is showing some rot too. I love the trailboss style wheel, but ended up getting a set of 20 inch snow flakes off a sierra. With the 3 inch key and block in the rear I ended up going 285/60/20 and havent had any issues with rubbing. No spacers though. I love the factory look of using newer wheels instead of an aftermarket offroad wheel. Tahiti is looking sick man.
My sisters boyfriend had a 2019 trail boss with those rims and have thought about buying them for my 01 tahoe , so glad you made this video they look great
I was a bfg all terrain sucker for years, now i’m not sure if i’m buying another set since mine cracked the sidewalls and they’re not even 3 years old, i’m going to be looking into other A/T tires, but the ko2s have amazing street drivability, good grip, no noise, good for off road but the cracking has me stumped
Hey LsxMatt! When can we expect to see you redo the headliner in the Tahoe? Been watching for a while, and have since gotten an '03 Suburban with a less than great headliner. You mentioned some time ago about redoing the headliner in the Tahoe and I've been awaiting the video so I can do it myself.
When I got my 2001 Tahoe LS 2wd it has 285 75r16 and they rubbed on the splash shield . Now the stock size is a 24570r16 but the tire shop did have the tires I wanted. So I went with the Tahoe lt stock size 26570r16 and the don’t rub and I run American racing rims ! Love the black room rims on your! Oh don’t even talk about gas mileage! I’m in California @ 5.00 a gallon!
I have a 2003 Tahoe and have been thinking if it’d be possible to do a 6l80/6l90 swap. There’s a company zero gravity performance that claims to have a controller that could do it, just needs an adapter for the transfer case and driveshaft length changes. Love the videos, just did my brake lines and suspension rebuild myself last weekend.
So I put a set of wheels and tires on mine and while they destroyed my acceleration, they made the stance perfect and required no timing or any adjustments at all on a stick suspension at stock height. I am running a 285/65R18 -24 offset BFGAll-Terrain and it has never felt more stable and planted than now. I'm not running any spacers and the tires are even with the factory fender flairs.
I have an 02 Z71 Tahoe with the same wheels, same color, very similar headlights and tail lights. Mines just lifted 3 inches and has a custom roof rack. All in all, great taste man 😂
I love the new wheels and tires! They look incredible. I have an '07 that's all blacked-out and I've been wanting new wheels. I painted the oem 20" wheels. These are exactly what I've been wanting. They're such a great look for the truck. Can't wait to see what else you do to yours
Love the look. I have a set of 37s, but after watching your later vid. I'm not going to install them. I will purchase a set of LT285 75r17s (same tires that come on new F250 Tremor) they are basically almost 35s but they are narrower tires. I believe this will be a great setup matched with Kryotonite 3" suspension lift.
Seriously love these videos! I am going run my 2006 Z71 until it disintegrates lol and your videos are really helping me keeping it in good shape. Just bought these wheels today. I see you say to get the GM lug nuts. Do you know what size I need (threads and length)? Can't find info online...
bought a 96 burban with new custom grill and new chrome bumpers ,6inch rough country lift and brand new 35 inch ironmans for just 800 because of a knock in engine. i have a 02 yukon xl that i just bought 2 new front fenders, inner and outer rockers and rear quarters for, those are still in the boxes. it has new 33 inch tires. the day before yesterday i cut the front bumper and front and rear fenders with angle grinder to put the 35's on the xl. works great!! decided after pulling the factory running boards that the yukon xl should be drove untill the body falls off and the new parts go on my wifes 02 burban, but 33's on wifes burban for winter driving. the 96 will get lots of upgrades including 37 inch military tires, 12 valve cummins etc... oh, im 63 year old retired mechanic
I fit 285s on my 01 without doing anything. I did notice that the truck felt a little slower, but my MPG was a little better on the highway due to the lower RPM at hwy speeds.
Igot a 2002 z71. I was real surprised that you had any rubbing with the 33s. I clearanced my front and fitted 35 nitto ridge grapplers on method mr305 with 0 offset. I installed 4.56 gears front and back. I only get a light rub at full lock. My speedo is off by 15mph. I gotta get a programmer. I had to remove my washer reservoir. I have to cut it up and seal it before I can reinstall it. I'm putting my z71 together to go off road. All my money is going to go towards a solid front axle. So it is what it is for now. I'm really enjoying the videos. Are you ever gonna go on a trail with it? Maybe look into some rock sliders, I know I'm gonna be installing some, and a winch before I do the axle swap.
Hey Matt, Tahiti is looking amazing, quick question, what sparkplugs are you running, what gap and what mpg do you have, my 04 had ac delco iridiums the response time was very nice but the mpg was lower than it ised to be, changed to platinum, mpg increased but not as good as it used to be current gap .040, any feedback would be greatly appreciate it

I just put new wheels and snow tires on my Yukon. I went with Method MR316 in matte black (which is really more of a satin) along with Nokian studded snow tires. The transformation was so dramatic I was inspired to rip off the running boards and the trim on the side. I'm currently in the process of doing Raptor lining on the lower half of the body on account of the fact that I messed up paint when I ripped off the trim. I went with 17" wheels with a stock tire size 265/70R17. The offset combined with the fact that wheel is black just makes it look bigger. After I ripped off the running boards it looked like I gave it a 2" lift. I think it has a nice balanced look.

A high clearance tubular off-road bumper for the front and back would make it scream. Wheels will make something look cool, but the bumpers is what makes the difference. Also be weary of the power steps, I put them on mine (Amp research) and I regret it so much, if it rains, mud kills them, drive down a gravel road, also kills them, snow, borderline breaks them and really just not as effective as other, However, if you get/make some mud flaps, it would probably help a lot, I skid plated my entire Tahoe except the exhaust and have gasketed openings for the steps and they still get crap in them. (But your Tahoe is so clean and sick so you know what your doing)
I didn't cut anything on the rear of the fender liners on my truck, I just pulled them way back and put a bolt though them.. I dontvlike the e brake cables exposed especially in Michigan with road salt.. it would definitely rust it right out
I had Goodyear wrangler a/t (lt) on my z71 duramax L5P and the same BF Goodrich as you but LT on my dually and I think I liked the Goodyears more. Maybe because dually vs 3/4 ton or because 3/4 ton was newer. Idk
Intresting i went from a stock z71 inch tire to a duratrac 33 inch tire and the tahoe feels way slower like i went to a 270 gear compared to a 3.73.Way slower cant believe its only a half second.

I have the same truck, I’m installing the 6.0 from an Escalade with 80k with transmission, you should do the same also my fist one z71 was stolen never found it this is my second try, same color a duplicate of the fist one
I went from 32s on my Tahoe to 35s lol I had to cut my bumper and some of the fender I have 2inch spacers all the way around I’m on stock height no rub now csn turn my wheels all the way

I had Goodyear wrangler a/t (lt) on my z71 duramax L5P and the same BF Goodrich as you but LT on my dually and I think I liked the Goodyears more. Maybe because dually vs 3/4 ton or because 3/4 ton was newer. Idk
I liked how your Tahoe looked before you put on the HD conversion and Escalade light.. It was clean and simple.
Have the same truck but I would love to have yours also.lol Love it. Looks good
Intresting i went from a stock z71 inch tire to a duratrac 33 inch tire and the tahoe feels way slower like i went to a 270 gear compared to a 3.73.Way slower cant believe its only a half second.
Hey i have a 2011 Tahoe i have 18" chrome rims and tire similar to the ones you have i have a question does your tahoe makes a whining noise when you drive with these new tires. mine makes whining noise.
I have the same truck, I’m installing the 6.0 from an Escalade with 80k with transmission, you should do the same also my fist one z71 was stolen never found it this is my second try, same color a duplicate of the fist one
Looks awesome Matt. Are those spacers steel or aluminum?
