My 03 is about to hit 200k, replaced the water pump and that's it. Going to start going through and replacing rubber where it needs it and replace the fuel filter as I do not know if it had ever been replaced and would rather avoid it causing any issues.
My 2001 has 260,000 miles and is rock solid, engine just purrs like new. Unbelievable. Thats when Chevy knew how to build a truck. Mine still has the Wisconsin plant sticker.

Kick ass job. I just bought a 05 Avalanche for $1350 here in Tennessee. Pretty damn rough but runs good. Also came with a 80k mile 5.3 that me and my son are going to be building on the side. I was really thinking about doing a blackout. But seriously starting to lean towards a total whiteout. Cladding and all. I’ve never really been an Avalanche fan but I just couldn’t pass up the deal. Your Tahoe makes me miss my old Yukon
@@JonCaveman Well, not a bad choice there. I was able to pick up a 2001 yukon deanli xl for about $500 here in Cali, and have been taking some of the body modifications from your video and applying them to my own vehicle. So thanks again for the video, it has some great tips and tricks in it!
If you have the inverter still, I would recommend opening it up and checking the internal fuse and capacitors to see if there blown or not. If the fuse or cap is blown just replace them. your inverter should work after that. :)
This video has been so inspiring, I am planning on getting a Yukon XL with the 8.1l and doing some of these mods on it. I am also thinking about doing a manual trans swap. Or just getting a regular Yukon XL 2500 with the 6.0 and swapping the works for a Duramax and Alison. But what ever I do I am going to do a bunch of these mods on it. It just looks so good. Once I am done it will be like brother trucks.
Nice! I just picked up an 02 yukon slt 4x4 for $4000 only had 115k miles on it, had a couple cosmetic issues but I fixed all of them (except for paint). New driver seat cover and repaired the foam underneath with some upholstery foam I got online also new mirrors I kept the stock sub box and installed a Skar IX-8 D4 but its run by a sundown audio SFB600D mounted to the box under the panel so its all hidden with a speaker terminal cup installed on the panel to hookup an external subwoofer. I also did a basic tune to wake up that 5.3, the truck did have some 20inch chrome Foose rims not my style Ill replace them later. Thinking of picking up another LM7 and cam it with flat top pistons I built one for my 99 trans am with good results.
195k miles at a dealership for $2,900?? Thats crazy. I just bought a 2000 LS Chevy Tahoe with 170k! For exactly $2,900! Had to click on this video when i seen you bought yours for the same amount as me. But i bought mine from a private seller. No dealer.
Invested? First of all cars are a depreciating asset . Secondly whenever you put money into a car you never get it back .. .ever. I would hardly call this an investment . It's more like how much did you come out of pocket?
Casey Lee he spent $34,724 so far. It’s not an investment and it’s also no ones money but his so every man to himself. People shitting on him for spending this can suck it easy. It’s always the broke people who got shit to say about someone’s money
Watched your video. I kept looking for the axle gear swap. I would have done lift, tires, gear's at same time when especially jumping to 35's and perhap's a ARB in the rear. Detroit Tru Trac gear limited slip only rated for 33's. So you would have to go with a selectable air or electric locker. Unless you don't plan on jumping the 4x4 in a mud hole.
Thanks for the info. I was working with a shop here in NJ to build a custom rear axle for me and regear to 4:88 in the process, but they flaked on me (I've been having trouble finding a decent shop that will follow through). I was supposed to have all that work done in October of last year. Now I'm talking to some folks down in TN about my custom axle but it's delayed everything. 🤨
6.0 or even better 8.1 swap or 502 swap if you have the money. Building an 8.1 for my 1500 to swap in now

I am a Tahoe owner myself and it would have been sweet if you would have left links to all your mods so I can copy a few of them lol
Im lazy too but if you just google, you will easily find. Amazon has a lot of these parts.
I need these upgrades for my Tahoe
You got an A+ you went from point A to Z with citing to where the parts came from best vid I’ve seen in a while
Kick ass job.
Your Tahoe makes me miss my old Yukon
nice truck... I could see myself hotboxing tons of blunts in there on the way to the snow and mountains.
Ayy scoop me up
Tahoe’s were great in the early 2000s. Love everything except those mall crawler rims
I'm actually Surprised he didn't grab a Yukon Denali, but hey, to each his own.
I actually test drove a 2021 Denali a couple of weeks ago. Ended up with a Lexus instead.
@@JonCaveman Well, not a bad choice there. I was able to pick up a 2001 yukon deanli xl for about $500 here in Cali, and have been taking some of the body modifications from your video and applying them to my own vehicle. So thanks again for the video, it has some great tips and tricks in it!
That’s awesome! Would love to see your Denali.
@@JonCaveman Haha, it’s not everyday I get to show off my car build! I’d love to send some pictures your way.
He makes it look easy but it's a lot of work....a whole lot of work and a ton of this $$$.
Thought about selling my Yukon XL.
Damn it…. Now you’ve put a goal in place. Beautiful Beast👌🏾
You inspire me to want one. My friend got a 2000 Chevy Silverado 2500, I'm trying to get me a Tahoe and do this 🔥
Nice man
Damn nice build! I have an 05 that isn’t my daily, but I’ve had similar plans to do something like this! Definitely excited to get my started!
Hell yeah Isaac! Good luck with your build
I love the revival of the Tahoe I dont see to many on the road anymore
Thanks!
Where do you live? China?
Man this Tahoe looks amazing I just bought me a 01 that's in pretty bad shape but I guess I just have to take my time....
Thanks! Yessir time heals all wounds lol. (except rust.. you need a sand blaster for rust)
@@yt.be-r why not a Tahoe
That’s awesome! I’d love to have an 8.1l. And with a manual transmission?? Thatd be insane. Make some videos if you go that route!
You did magic to that Tahoe.
Extremely well made video. Awesome truck. I'm curious how much you have invested at this point.
Thank you! I walked through all of the costs here ua-cam.com/video/10cS-fhN23M/v-deo.html
I want to do something like this to my 1998 suburban 😂 this would be epic
MVigil007 my dad has a 1996 and then a 1999 that model was sweet
Wyatt Nyfeler awesome
Bro, I have 22 Tahoe but the way you build yours I like yours better for sure, Awesome work thank you for sharing!
Thanks! The 22 Tahoe is awesome as well for sure.
You put a lot of work into this video, great editing! I thought the truck looked mean with the 4.5" lift...
Thanks! Yeah it definitely had a unique look at 4.5"
Ow. Transformer tahoe. Really wld like to do something similar to my 01 yukon xl.
DIRTDIVER882 get it on camera if you do bro
Just got my Tahoe today it’s crazy basically have the same start up as you. You did all the research I’ll ever need thank you thumbs up!
195k miles at a dealership for $2,900?? Thats crazy. I just bought a 2000 LS Chevy Tahoe with 170k! For exactly $2,900! Had to click on this video when i seen you bought yours for the same amount as me. But i bought mine from a private seller. No dealer.
Awesome tahoe👏🏽👏🏽👌🏽
Thank you!
Definitely killer Tahoe man. Can’t wait for the engine swap!
Blazed UPP me too!! Haha thanks man
This is such a awesome thing to document. So after the initial $2900.. how much are you invested with all upgrades on the remod?
A lot lol. I made a video walking through all of the costs ua-cam.com/video/10cS-fhN23M/v-deo.html
@@JonCaveman you the man!
Best looking Tahoe I’ve seen. Not overdone and does look menacing. Got me on FBM looking for a Tahoe. 😂
