2015 Caravan P0301 chain of events. Windshield cowl trim not seated correctly (missing mount screw) allowing water to enter the engine bay affecting coil pack (has been replaced thanks to this helpful video). Next issue Air filter housing not firmly seated in position allowing too much air intake forcing the O2 sensor bank 1 sensor 1 to fail (also replaced twice). All of this messed up cylinder 1. Need to seek the cowl panel and buy cowl clip to avoid this mess from happening again. Cleared fault codes and it runs smooth. This could have been $300 replace coil pack + $350 replace O2 sensor = estimated $650 repair shop bill in total took about 1/2 hour replace coils pack and 10 minutes O2 sensor. Made me sick to my stomach but in the end very happy to find mechanics like you providing simple steps. Thank you and Happy 4th!
Thank you for this great video. So much easier for one who is an elderly woman. My van is running extremely bad. Sure hope AZ is right about the #1 misfiring. tyvm
I have asked so many so-called friends to help me with this issue but of course promises to become let downs. So, I knew it was up to me. Good thing I have a step stool.
I’m having a really sneaky P0301. Plugs, coils, injectors changed. No vacuum leak on smoke test. Oil is new and has been changed. I did notice some oil fouling of plugs though so thinking PCV valve? Wondering how likely that actually is though. The misfire stays on cylinder 1 which is concerning. It never changes.
How the heck did you get the “part connected to the throttle body” off? It’s definitely mounted in solid as a rock. Looks like your already had the mounts broken.
2014 Town & Country P0301 P0302 P0303 P0304 P0305 P0306 misfire after you put a new coil pack and spark plug and it is ticking rocker arm can give you an misfire if both rocker arms on left exhaust camshaft or right exhaust camshaft or left intake camshaft or right intake camshaft
2015-2016 Dodge Grand Caravan 3.6 L. Same issue, BUT... New Coil and plug (CHECK). Still cylinder will NOT fire. Injector is working (CHECK). No vacuum leaks(CHECK). Mechanic says, "No spark". (not a lot of forums on this year model/engine) ANY IDEAS? PCM? Crank Sensor? I have a mobile mechanic coming back for the second time. would be great to get in front of this issue, before it stumps him.
@@tombodet5642 One of the few replies in a forum after the repair. It was the Cam Shaft. The lobes that push the valves had worn down, so they were not opening the valve on number one cylinder and partial on a few others. subsequently that exhaust pressure had changed enough to tell the computer there was a problem. It also created an issue with "line pressure" to the transmission. So it went into "Limp Mode" and was locked into second or third gear. Once the Cam shaft was replaced and the computer reset, all was normal. no check engine light for about 1000 miles now. I hope that helped. Again, there are quite a few other POSSIBILITIES or reasons that were checked in the diagnosis with a mobile mechanic. Spark plugs and coils all the way to catalytic converter was checked. The Cam Shaft and Crank Shaft are the last two that could be the issue (other than a broken cylinder). But those are the expensive two to check. $2300.00 to have a dealership swap in a new Cam Shaft. Huge labor charge. They fit me right in and had it done the next day. $$ was better than the line up for oil changes. I am sure you could half that charge at a local mechanic you trust. Let me know how you fix your problem!
Tom Bodet were the rocker arms making noise that made you change them? I have this issue but on cylinder 5. Swapped coils, plugs, injectors, compression tests, leak down tests, injector and coil are getting power and couldn’t find thing with doing all those tests. Engine has no tick tho
@@tombodet5642 have this same issue. Had P0302 though. I changed the spark plug, ignition coils, and swapped the fuel injector form cylinder 2 or cylinder 1. And P0302 still shows up. my engine ticks sorta loud so maybe it is a rocker arm too.
Ok, thanks for all of that. I’m amazed that through the entire video we can’t see coil #5 in the view of the camera. Would you or anyone watching this video be able to tell me if #5 coil and plug are accessible without having to remove the intake manifold? Thanks
I replaced all of my coils and plugs. I had a PO300. Now I have the PO302. I pulled the plug, it was cracked. I replaced it. Still not running. But I'm getting both codes now. I had a code for the EVAP sensor and gas cap. Replaced both of those. I'm at a loss at this point. There's no vacuum leak and all the parts are new. What else could it be?
Had to install the bypass. End game was the fuel pump relay. You have to replace the tipm. $350 non-factory. You can buy a rebuilt or have yours done for $100. Otherwise it's $1200 factory. Hope this helps someone.
I have a P0301 cylinder 1 misfire and is only noticeable at idle. It’s pretty jumpy. I’ve replace coil, plug and had injectors checked. Still can’t find the problem
Maybe a bad injector or burnt valve. At that point I hate to say it but the dealer would require a visit. There may even be a recall or service campaign to fix it because I have heard a lot of people say the same thing
I just changed the oil filter housing on a 2011, and now I have code P0305. Think I'm going to change the plugs as the intake was nasty, I bet the plugs are fouled. Might go ahead and swap a coil first to rule that out and make sure the injector harness is plugged in correctly.

it is a shit motor from chrysler. the valves burn and you need to replace them and sell the pile of crap.
I read it cold be a few things even after the plug and coil, like the injector, valve issue...IDK
