@mikedawesofficial You are my favorite guitarist of all time. Your music literally brings tears to my eyes because of how truly beautiful it is. It touches my soul. I have requested that when I leave this earth that your music be played at my service. Thank you for playing the music that I hear in my head but I don't have the musical talent to bring it to life the way you do my friend. My guitar skills are virtually non existent compared to yours😂
That piece is stunning! It truly is your greatest piece yet. So amazing. You're a phenomenal composer and of course an amazing player. Hedges would be proud! Really hope to see and meet you some day.
My 6 and 4 year old daughters did the same. Just stared and listened for the entire time. I’m gonna start blasting this any time things get too hectic lol
@@mikedawesofficial Been playing for 20 years and got into a bit of a slump and seeing your Rick beato video renewed my love of guitar for this I am eternally grateful ✌️💚
I really believe this is going to go down in history as one of the most beautiful fingerstyle songs ever written. It's so refreshing to hear again a guitarist with something to say... And you say it loud and clear.

Had I not seen this, I would’ve sworn it was 3 guitarists & 1 percussionist. As a longtime fingerstyle guitarist, I can say from experience that this masterpiece is an achievement of a monumental amount of work, diligence, precision and skill.
@@mikedawesofficial Mike Dawes ome, you are an extremely talented musician and a wonderful gift to this world. May you have a long prosperous journey creating beautiful music!
I have no words for how overwhelming this is. I have played guitar since 2001, and it is my primary emotional outlet. I have been suffering from fingertip dermatitis for the past year, which has prevented me from playing guitar during that time, despite my best efforts to address the causes of my dermatitis. I'm home sick for the past 4 days, and this just dropped. I clicked on it as soon as i saw it, and about 45 seconds to a minute in, right as that OC-5 kicks in, and there's a flash of a smile in the left corner of your mouth, a tidal wave of emotion blindsided me and i sobbed like an infant for the rest of the song. i felt fear, desperation, anger, frustration, and profound sadness, but buried deep in there, holding the whole mess together, Hope. I don't know if i've ever cried like that in my life. I've only listened to the song once, and i need to calm myself down before i listen again. I've had to pause several times to gather myself even as i write this comment. I am compelled to share my deepest gratitude for sharing this song. you have helped unlock a measure of the emotions i've been holding in over the past year. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU. I wish i could express to you the way i feel right now. This comment is a feeble attempt, but i want you to know that you have gifted me a puzzle piece on my road to recovery. Again, thank you.
Hey I hope it is ok I respond❤ I play guitar since mid 90s and intensely since I am 16, I am 39 now. The last 3 years have been hardest of my life cause for an auto immune/neurological disease, I cant play the extend I used to have. But at least I am able to play on better days if. I am beyond grateful for it, to still do it, even if its hard not play that much or practice on a regular basis. I feel ur comment, and its really hard and frustrating to not be able to play guitar😢. Mike is a pure genius and his music is truly a gift, not only but especially in hard times. All the best to you. And improving health. Cheers from Germany
I often feel a depth of emotion words can't express when I listen to acoustic like this, that was a beautiful attempt to quantify something that can't be put in a box. I hope your fingers heal buddy, God bless.
I'll never forget the day I played guitar again (without pain) years after I lost my middle and ring finger tips of my left hand. I thought the injury itself would never heal, and when it had healed - then came the doubt that the scar tissue would ever be less sensitive to handle the metal strings and build calluses - it stung like fuck. I'm writing this to you sir because I also cried like I haven't in years when I listened to this song, and for all the same reasons as yourself, although I wish I had 'hope' sooner and not doubted the recovery process. I know I would've healed faster with more optimistic eyes! If I had hope I would have used the opportunity to buy a keyboard & some good headphones, and start learning musical theory from a different instrument (it is much easier) and expressing myself in a new way. Translate some of my pieces to piano, learn songs, etc. I now enjoy piano so much I couldn't imagine it not being in my life - everything happens for a reason! I have always loved Mike Dawes and a new release like this is a true blessing.
To pour your heart out like that to strangers is huge bro I can only wish you the very best for the future hang in there bro music will save us all if we let it - throwing out love to you man take care ❤
This song left me completely speechles in the best way possible. The level of genius on the accoustic guitar as well as the feelings created by the wonderful melodies and handmade sound-FX cannot be put into words. Instrumental song of the decade.

Dear me, where does one start ... I have despised acoustic guitars for 40 years. I have always been an electric man and have been a one man pro for 42 years and counting, but acoustic? Do me a favour - too hard on my fingers, so I sold the piece of firewood in the 80s. Then 30 years later I discover Tommy Emmanuel, and then another little young guy who popped up on a talent show, and now you, sir, and I can safely say that THIS is how the instrument should be used. I am in my last few years as a pro otherwise I would be sorely tempted to learn some of these techniques but, alas, that ship has crossed the horizon. I salute you Sir.
I agree with everything you said. At 66, I'm still playing every weekend, but not only do my old fingers not work as efficiently as they should, I don't have enough time on this earth to begin to learn this technique.
Thank you Mike - I am here thx to you being on Rick Beato’s YT show and I can’t express enough how much your music has impacted me. I bought your vinyl album on the spot. Thank you for being who you are. Cheers 🍷
You converse in another language that is way above the intellectual capabilities of most musicians. Thankyou from an old fart who loves this sort of meditative, soothing music. 👏👏👏🇦🇺🙏

Greetings from Ukraine! The world deeply lacks music like this-it has the power to heal the spirit and elevate consciousness. With such music, there would be no wars. Thank you Mike for the spirit and music!
The main melody actually reminds me a little bit of Jeff Beck’s part in “People, Get Ready”. Love your stuff, Mike! As usual, I don’t know whether I should feel inspired or if I should just go burn my guitars.
This tune strikes me as very Hedges-esque, but it's so much more. You truly took the legacy of fingerstyle guitar, but instead of just copying you build upon it your own story, expressed not only with technical finesse, but first and foremost with feeling, groove, musicality, tenderness and incredible taste. That's what acoustic fingerstyle guitar is about. Kudos, you're amazing, and this is and instant classic, as well as one of my new favorite songs. Thank you!
