Would love it if Hoka put this effort into improving their Running foams instead of a nurse/ teacher shoe, but there is a larger market there than in running so 🤷
As a nurse, I can tell you that the Bondi is extremely popular at the hospital. I bought some for running and put about 500 miles on them but the foam felt firm to me. At 135 lbs., I don't think I have enough weight coming down to really squish that foam. Also, that bucket seat feel irritated the calluses in my forefoot. On the other hand, the Novablast 2 . . .
Nurse/Teacher shoe is right. I imagine that a lot of other people are looking for max cushion shoes for work rather than running but incomes aren't high enough to support the retail prices of Hokas. The NB 993 has turned into a fashion statement more than a running shoe. I'm just getting into max cushioning but the prices put me off. I bought one on discount and it is nice if not a little on the heavy side.
I love how Hoka is attempting to brand out and make more options so that more people can get a good experiences. The only 2 issue’s I have with hoka’s is that they all are so similar in feel (stiffness and how the shoes rides), weight and stack hight. The Mach 4, Clifton 8 and the Clifton edge and the Rincon are all to similar to me. I would also love a super foam and a more responsive more flexible shoe and just something other then Eva. The foam just feels outdated compared to foams that are TPU, or super critical foams. But with that being said these look really promising and I’m excited to here more and hopefully these will change the course of hoka’s potential. There’s only so many upper changes you can make to a shoe so hopefully these new foams start coming out soon
100% agree. I've moved on from their shoes to New Balance (fuel cell), Skechers (Hyperburst) and Salomon for trail with their new Energy Surge. Hoka has lots of lifeless, mushy foam.
@@df540148 yeah it's interesting because so many people love them, rightly so. yet i find them behind in technology for sure. but if its working then why change it, they've had so much success in the past and today still. but it wouldn't hurt to have EVA in the trainers and the mach having something spicy.
The video starts "I'm still trying to figure out how it fits????" Ii can only conclude from thsi that HOKA have simply sent the shoe into Running Warehouse without specifications ref. functions, benefits and price. Strange? Cavu mentioned so presumably it will "fit" down the cheaper end of their pricing.
I think they made it as a direct competitor to the Saucony Kinvara but sadly Hoka have made a dog. Hoka is not quite there yet with any of their shoes. They all suffer from sizing issues and other issues that they need to work on and iron out. I do like a lot of what they are doing as a company though and I think they will get better.
Since you are speaking about Hoka , you just said, hoka stands for me as a Lifestyle Shoe….apart of the Trail line up….but in the Running Shoe category they Not offer any real Performance Shoe….and i speak espescially about Energy Return…They are boring and klunky, even if they are lightweight….After i retired my rincon 3 After a couple runs, i gave them today a last Chance….and again they really disappointed me…i mean come un, you have to work Hard for achiving a effortless Transition…the Shoe dont help you to get a rocker feel in a easy way….if i compair them with my large brand Rotation, hoka is by far the worst choice!!! And today a ren for the last time in a Hoka!!! Life is to short for running in a bad Shoe….;-)
how you can do review of the Kawana shoe, if you did not even try it on. did not know anything about it 20 min ago. sorry for bad feedback . but next time spend more time prior review
This is not a review but simply a first look at the upcoming shoe. We do not have the shoe in testing sizes currently but will hopefully be able to provide more feedback in the near future. -Connor
Unless you're an EXTREME heel striker that tail gizmo is a total waste. And most people aren't extreme heel strikers now. There's shoe biz, and show biz. The tail thing is show biz.
I don't like Hoka, they are so damned cushioned, and not ideal for fast runners imo. Therefore a no from me (only exeption is like that Rocket model, although it's only downside is that Hoka estatic instead of something aggressive like Adidas, NB and Nike

Agreed. While I like the looks of Hokas, I hate the ride and durability.

Agree- time to evolve the foam… even Sketchers is ahead of HOKA on that front
"I'm never wearing this shoe (for running) again", "blocky, extremly firm midsole", "stable gym shoes"
-believe in the run
*chucks the shoe*
i wish their voices werent so damn monotone and boring.

I feel like Hoka is kind of just throwing shoes at a dartboard now rather than having a coherent plan for their lines
As an autoproclaimed shoe nerd I have no idea why it exists

Jami, Hoka is marketing that shoe as a jog and fitness shoe. One can jog or run to an outdoor gym and pump some iron there and jog back.
Probably more of a casual shoe? Hoka does make just a casual/ everyday shoes as well as runners. I guess 😶? …..

This sort of clears up for me. I was deciding between Saucony or Hoka as the next brand to try on.
Can't say I've been impressed with any Hoka shoe. I had high hopes for the mach 4 but mehh.
does jamie work for running warehouse now
And for Hoka
I like the Hokas but only con is the durability.
The Kawana....so many questions? I am sure after many miles we will all know soon. Who wants the $99 Napali back?:)
I’d rather have the Huaka lol.
I do…and Clifton 3.
I agree about having the Napali and Napali ATR back. B
Maybe this is going to take 4 versions to get good as well…
Looks like Asics Glideride
Not really.
Where is Megan?
I promise you this shoe will be so narrow that you will wonder how it passed any wear tests. Just like every Hoka.
These felt roomier to me, especially in the heel where I almost felt like I was just slipping out

"Touch test" - yeah maybe try running in it before talking about it champ

Too many shoes Hoka. I can't consider them at the moment against say a NB
10 oz :(
