    These sound perfect for me. I like all of the shoes you mentioned so I’m definitely going to check these out. I only use mine for walking. Great video as always!

    Hi Run Moore! Your content has been critical for me in choosing the proper footwear. I understand that the best practice is to try shoes physically at stores to find the best match, as feet type and comfort levels are subjective. However, your videos act as an excellent guide to making those decisions. Thank you!
    Also, please do a short video on the Hoka Ora Recovery 2 for people looking for casual sneakers with Hoka comfort and also something on shoes for people with custom orthotics. Thanks again!

    Hi. Love your reviews. A question for you, what Hoka shoe would you recommend for the gym? I'm a fitness instructor battling metatarsalargia and need some good cushion but I do a lot of lateral moments. I own the Clifton 8 and the Bondi 8 currently. The Clifton had too much traction for our floors to pivot on the ball mount and it felt heavy. I took the Hoka shoe finder quiz and one of the shoes they recommended was the Solimar. Would you agree?

    Hopefully they will have more color coming out soon!!!! I love my fast short run in them.

    Thanks for this review! I tried this shoes on and I was fascinated by them, they feel really bouncy. However, I did not have the chance to run in this. Would you recommend me this shoe or the Clifton 8 for running? I am looking to use the shoes only for running, no gym included

    What shoe would you recommend from Hoka for the gym (full body workouts- some lunges / squatting but also some treadmill work etc). Love the vids! Subscribed!

      The heel and forefoot have rubber tread. similar to the Clifton, but the middle of the foot is a foam outsole.

    As someone new to the hoka world I have a question in regards to the Width of the shoe is it wider than the mack 4?

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  Рік тому

      Yes it is! I found the Mach 4 to be pretty narrow for me but this fit me just fine.

    Interesting shoe. I have watched many of your reviews and you often say " I wouldn't use this shoe for gym work". So I finally have to ask...... What is a few shoes that you would pull off the shelf for gym work?

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  2 роки тому +1

      We like to pull shoes that are a bit firmer for gym work, especially if you are doing side-to-side movements. The Brooks Ghost 14 is a popular one, as it supplies a good amount of arch support and has a firmer cushion in the midsole. Another of our favorites is any Altra shoes. All Altra shoes are zero-drop. This is ideal for gym work, like heavy lifting as you are on a plane parallel to the floor.

    What would you say is the best shoe for overpronation and pretty flat feet? I’ve been running in the HOKA Arahi 4 but started getting lingering shin splints.

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  2 роки тому +1

      If the Arahi is not providing neough support, the Hokas Gaviota would be the next step up n cushion and arch support.

  • @Joe_Souza
    @Joe_Souza 2 роки тому +1

    Hi Steve, you mention you wear the Gaviota all day long at the store. Do you also run in it? I need a stability shoe for pronation have done well in the latest versions of the Gel Kayano, NB 860 v12, and Vongo V5 and Brooks Adrenaline. I’ve yet to run in the Arahi or Gaviota and like to hear your recommendations.
    I really enjoy your shoe reviews!

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  2 роки тому

      Personally, I find that the Gaviota is too much shoe for me to run in. I have recently been running in the new Arahi 6 and have really been enjoying that shoe. It offers a great amount of support with a less aggressive stack height.

    i have these shoes.....200km now....i do around 50/60km per week 90% trail...200km now....i spent 150km to understand these very very strange shoes....i was close to put them in the bin....then a love started with them, so strange but i needed to partially change my running mechanics and now i just have huge benefits from them, especially in light trail descent they are just phenomenal

    Hey Steve, thanks for the specs on this one. How would you say does the toebox rank on a scale of 1 (say goodbye to your toes) to 5 (Topo Phantom 2)? ;)

    • @RunMoore

      I'd say a roomy standard 3, similar to the Hoka Clifton.

    Not that I disagree, but you didn't recommend it for the gym and Hoka markets this as an everyday fitness shoe! The new CMEVA is definitely better suited for more responsive activities but it is kind of too clunky/bulky and heavy for those purposes.

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  2 роки тому

      We have found the stack height of Hokas to be not the best for everyday fitness, as they're not conducive to lateral movement.

  • @Antonio-kx5rd
    @Antonio-kx5rd 7 місяців тому

    Is this good for severe flat feet?

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  7 місяців тому +1

      We recommend something with more support for flat feet. Hoka's supportive shoes include the Arahi and the Gaviota. The Arahi is a midweight cushion stability shoe, while the Gaviota is a maximum cushion stability shoe. These are by far our two most popular Hoka models. You cannot go wrong with either.
