BMW F30/F31 LED Headlight Conversion

- Hey guys! Today, we will cover on how to change our low beams for our BMW F30 from halogen to LED.
You will need the Bimmercode App, if you haven't gotten it already and an OBD2 scanner. Purchase the app once for unlimited uses.
The LEDs code is H7, so if you look for it in the store, ask for H7 bulbs.

do you need to code the errors away ? or you just did a plug and play and there are no error codes
@@terenceng3146 I installed them and then used bimmercode to code the bulbs to LED. No codes once I programmed it for LED

Hey Erebus F30, so you didn't use any decoder/resistor rather used Bimmercode to avoid errors/flickering?
Good morning! Thanks for your question. For my F30, I had no flickering or errors for the night light so I didn't have to, but for daytime running light check out the previous video on how to code it. One of our buddies also put in additional info in the comments, which should also be applied :) thank you!
Hey Prakash! Just an update, I checked my equipment. The night light came with a resistor that plugs on the oem outlet however the daytime running light didn't. That's why the night lights don't flicker or have warnings. :) hope this helps!
@@ErebusF30 perfect thanks, did you have to tie down the resistor to something metal to dissipate the heat, looking to upgrade my stock halogens as well.
Hello! Sorry for the late reply, I'm not getting my YT Notifs for some reason. Anyways, the resistor is attached via cable behind the bulb and the cable is not short enough to be burnt by the bulb and not too long to dangle, so I just have mine tucked behind the lid for the housing. Hope this helps!

Can you use Carly to code the LEDs?
Hi, I believe you can, since Carly has Bluetooth. You’ll need Bluetooth to connect to the app :) hope this helps!
Could I just plug them in and use it or do i need bimmer code as I dont have that device?
Because I did that with my daytime running lights and they worked fine with no error
Hi! You can use it without BimmerCode but by coding it, you’re letting the car know you changed from halogen to LED because voltage needed to light a halogen is different from LED :) I would most likely recommend using BimmerCode to code it in

Damn, I bought some LED headlight low beam bulbs and coded with Bimmercode but I still get errors for the left and right low beams on the dash.
Hi shibidi! I get glitches at times too for voltage monitoring. It's saying "Low beam malfunction" or similar. Quick easy fix is turn on your headlights til it clears out. It should take only 3 seconds =] but for the long run, it comes and goes tbh. Thanks for your comment, please let me know if you have any more questions and keep me updated on your build!
@@ErebusF30 Nevermind, I did more research and your suppose to deactivate the "Low beam warm monitoring" and "Low beam cold monitoring" to turn off the malfunction AND the flickering of the bulbs, along with setting "Low beam lamp" to LED. All done on the Bimmercode. Mine works fine now. Thanks again.

What about your high beams did you upgrade it aswell?
Hello! No I have not upgraded them to LEDs, they're still halogen. I have that in mind now, and will most likely do it this month! Thank you!
