I bought the exact bulbs from amazon for my E60. Instant MOT fail recently, no beam pattern at all just bright white light. Shame really as they are lovely and bright

Your not meant to take your car for MOT I get MOT just sitting at home mine always pass with these bulbs
@@BMWDoctor MOT tester straight away said there was an issue with the beam pattern. Basically there was no pattern at all, no vertical cut off line or left / right pattern.
This would explain the number of cars that now flash me at night time!!!😄. Like I said shame as they are really bright and increase visibility at night

So, I recently swapped my dying halogen bulb to LEDs and maybe things that i knew could be helpful for peoples who hesitant to buy LEDs. The thing is, you should avoid the ones that has LED chips all around its body. Two sided COB ones is better but because of their chip size, they still produce some blinding glares. You want the chips to be as small and located at the same place as halogen filament. The closer the LED size to halogen, the better cutout you got. You won't blind the others this way as long as your headlight alignment was right.
Your best pick for reflector headlight would be two sided single row Seoul CSP (consists of 1x3 CSP per side, not 2x3) or two sided 1x3 Lumileds Z ES ones. If you have more budget, you can pick Philips Ultinon Pro series that is based on Lumileds Altilon (no Chinese brand uses this yet. They costs $14 each for 500pcs order compared to $1.5-ish for Lumiled Z ES)
Are these led bulbs on ebay or amazon? I replaced my halogen bulbs with led, and i am getting flashed by on coming drivers, as they are too bright

Great video, but I still believe that LED and HID bulbs should be used ONLY with projector headlights, not with the reflector ones to avoid blinding the other drivers. That's why the conventional halogen bulbs are used in reflector headlights. Just my thoughts!
the key is the LED size and placement. you don't want LED bulb that has LED chip all over the place or way bigger than halogen filament (like COB LEDs). take a look on Philips Ultinon series. that's how LED retrofits should looks like to get the same cutout as halogen on reflector headlight. Test Lab (Russian) and Sergiu Gabor has quite good reviews on LEDs and I learned a lot how to pick the right ones there
And you can now get white halogens so theirs no point in hassle
the REASON the bmw e46 failed the mot with xenon`s fitted is quite simple...............you CAN`T put led`s OR xenons into a headlamp which does not have a projector lens ! that`s also why the E60 DID pass with xenons fitted as it has a projector lens. if you put led`s or xenons into a standard non projector headlight your going to dazzle ALL oncoming traffic ! simples !
LED bulb or xenon with reflector lens for dipped lights are very bad idea. You blinding everyone. For that you need delights with projector lens

I thought these LEds were meant to be not so good, any reviews seemed to say HID Ballast was better, no definite line of vision at night,just bright, ??great vids, just go a bit slower and lots of light on jobs you do
I wonder how loud those bulb fans can get, the heat can get pretty intense in that area on a hot summer day and the plastic fan may not be able to keep up and melt

its plastic designed for that. halogen bulbs can go up to 400°c. dont worry bud

Why do you need adapter if you can just buy LED H7 which is like regular Halogen H7 and just replace the bulbs without additional holders are adapters? Am O missing something? Because in shops there are just H7 leds and these kind of leds with wires like in this video so what is the difference between them?

I have LED bulbs for fog lights on my E60. You no longer need resistors or canbas on these bulbs. you can just code them with Carly or an ODB!

I bought some led bulbs that are two sided and where the light is in the same place where the halogen light is. But the thing is that when ever they're one there is a big triangle shadow in the middle of the road when ever the light are turned on, anyway to fix this so the triangle shadow is not there any more? They probably got fined so heavy they couldn’t afford another pair hence why they went for glasses cheaper option to improve there vision if they could really see that great mate they wouldn’t be needing them other 2 eye helpers they were on there head

Mate if I’m honest I got these in 3 other cars for months and months been behind the police all the time I go to a petrol garage which is FULL of traffic police and normal police at night and they don’t say nothing about my lights 😂
