@@Eldoofus Paper Mario: Color Splash hammer action command needs a near frame-perfect timing to get the excellent (or I was too much used to the Sticker Star hammer action command) I don't know why they changed from releasing the stick to just an A press timing.
Malleo has some videos on the TTYD TAS, they do RNG manip to get item throws during the glitz pit. Unfortunately, that sort of manipulation isn't really possible in real time.
I remember my brother playing this when he was a kid and he was getting really mad at some boss fight. An X-naut in the audience went to through something at him and he foiled it so the X-naut screamed and ran off. I chuckled. He snapped in the most aggressive and serious voice "GOOD! X-nauts are nothing but TROUBLE!" like he was pissed off not only at the boss but that he didn't get a friendlier audience.
The audience really is your biggest enemy in TTYD, especially when they give the boss buffs or give you debuffs and damage. That being said, it's just as likely to help you as it is to kill you, so risk versus reward and all that
Can we talk about 3:46 for a moment-- Goombella sacrifices ALL her health so Mario (with ONE health point left at this point) can take out the boss with one Special move.... prob the ballsiest, riskiest strategy I've ever seen in this game.
I thought you’d beat bosses by having the crowd kill them lol (they don’t attack enemies upon checking the wiki) Still this is a very unique way of killing bosses
my head canon is that the hammer bro wants to see your hammer abilities improve, so he chucks his hammer at you to put you in peril and unlock your deepest potential
So in other words, controlling when the audience attacks you to get into Peril? Well, I guess it's more consistent than trying to use Stage Events as your main source of damage. But I know which of the two interests me more! Still, a very neat video! Thanks for uploading!

@@Koopatrol Ah yes, I did know about the x thing, it would be cool though, and it's funny either he does a big bounce and bounces back on stage, or he just goes right out of his, walking through the audience members and going "Whack 'em with a hammer!" Oh well, it yeah would be cool if you could superguard those attacks, but can you normal-guard them though?
By angering the crowd (missing an attack, failing the hammer command), the crowd hits him down to the specific HP he wants, so he has 1 hp left, which puts Mario in Peril. This activates Mega Rush, and increases Mario's damage by 5, allowing Mario to deal insane damage to bosses despite being at extremely low levels.

Honestly can't believe that audience members throwing things at you isn't pure RNG and I never noticed.
I didn't either! Shows how good of a design it is, really.
Dang, I was expecting stuff like endless amounts of stage hazards falling on the bosses and ridiculously strong items being throw to you.

Make the audience a bunch of Luigis xd

@@BBSplat there are some codes for audience manipulation but they're a little unstable
@Sonic sort of. The title could be considered misleading since this is basically just a peril build, which is a very common thing if I remember right.

Dope strats. LOL. The audience def opens up a new avenue for some really slick-looking stuff :)

An old fashioned clobbering.. But this time, you'll be requiring some aid.
Team Snakemouth knows all about low health strats, lol.
It's like he's gaining power from audience disapproval, like he's a heel wrestler. This would fit right in at the Glitz Pit.

No, objects thrown by the audience cannot be Superguarded. You can still press X at the last second to kick them out, however.
