Not that I've listened to every piece of music ever written, but, damn this piece has been my favorite for a very long time. So much emotion, and every orchestra interprets the tempos a little differently which makes a big difference.
Nothing But a Russian orchestra for playing Tchaikovsky's master pieces like no other! Really! that passion, all those feelings in 12 wonderful minutes; this master piece make me feel so sad and romantic at the same time... like only russian romantic composers could do; like Tchaikovsky
Time and again I'm hearing this Symphony with this orchestra and this excellent conductor. It's the best rendition of it, my favourite. The french horn solo is wonderful, I congratulate Mr. Taras Naumenko and to all of you, from Belo Horizonte, Brasil.
almost certmainly coincidence.. it is only 5 notes after all. Annie's song is a much more beautiful melody IMHO. According to wikipedia producer Milt Okun pointed out the similarity to JD but the account in Wiki of what happened next doesn't make a lot of sense and sounds a bit made up to me. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Annie%27s_Song .
Me too. I came to look it up. Annie's Song was a song I first heard in a school bus in the early seventies when I was about 8 to 9 years old. It has become my favourite ever since. Song for his wife and now it is for mine too.
I also came here to see whether Annie Song was inspired by this. Nah. Five notes are not enough. Totally different feel. I’ll still give full credit to JD.
3:20-3:30 is my best assumption having listened to that clip a number of times. Better question, if it was you in the audience where would be the spot personal to you? I bet its not totally consistent among sensitive listeners.
Jack Horkheimer used this piece in his 1972 acclaimed production of ‘Child of the Universe’ for the Miami Space Transit Planetarium. This great music played as the narrator took us through the history of space exploration into the vastness of the Cosmos. it was breathtaking. RIP Jack.
Any examples? I'm just curious, because as a horn player I really like to compare that different players playing the same piece and decide what aspects I like better and would like to emulate in my own playing.
The Los Angeles Philharmonic performance on April 29, 2023 a woman lets out ‘screaming orgasm’ during middle of orchestra performance. No lie Goggle it.
It took me months to complete that horn solo in the beginning. It's a hard piece but once you get the accidental notes down, you'll be able to complete the first 22 measures. (I'm in 8th grade so it might be easier for adults)
I love Tchaik, but he is just so happy that he gets in the way of himself sometimes. Part of me wishes that this movement would have maintained its dark character at the beginning through more of the piece. Oh well, it is still a great piece.
So, I specifically sought out this movement of this symphony after accidentally listening to 10 seconds of Juicy J's "Bands a make her dance". What the *blank* is wrong with this world?
Annie's song ??? Please. Now when graham Jackson a Black man and navy recruiter played "going home" by Dvorak on the accordion that he entertained President Franklin Roosevelt with the night before he died he stood , tears running down his face as the funeral train crawled by. Largo is the name of the popular piece. I will never forget the picture of that man who loved his country and his President tho not treated as an equal then.
Don't play this in front of Jewlery store owners. The chances of them having a full body orgasm are low, but they are not zero according to the LA Times.
Lowkey hate this conductors tempo, tbh feel really bad for the horn player, he’s definitely practiced it at a slower tempo for auditions and such, but he kept up, righteous dude
This second movement is so beautiful I could fall in love again.
Look up what happened on April 29, 2023 at LA Phil: Woman lets out ‘screaming orgasm’ during middle of orchestra performance.

Oh, that horn solo is so good!
As a former French Horn player O could never imagine being able to sound that good! Love this piece and props to that Horn player!

I can hear John Denver's "You fill up my senses" in this movement.
you mean Annie,s song
@@henkstam5801 well yeah, but those lyrics.
Yes, Denver was told by his producer at the time that the melody was the same. He changed it slightly, but the first 6 notes remain.
Funny didnt notice. Ive had to sing that for years 🤮 and am pretty sure played this one in orchestra
thanks mr wikipedia
Magnificent, utterly magnificent.
0:48 perhaps inspiration for 'you fill up my senses'- Annie's Song- John Denver
Annie told John that when he first heard Annie's Song.
You know there's lyrics for that part, right? It goes something like"I play the freeeeeeeennch horn, this is my sooooooooolo" :)
I hear.. Love is all that matter by Eric Carmen

"You fill up my senses..."
Expert horn player. Who is the horn soloist ?
Taras Naumenko
He looks like if my former band director were Russian.
Anyone else notice the 2nd who did a page turn in the last 2 measures
Yeah, before the last note. WTH?
congratulations to the horn player. I've watched videos of great horn players failing on this solo

Was this Symphony Movement 2 as good for you as it was for me?
Esse segundo movimento não é ótimo, é espetacular, a melhor musica romantica que conheço.
Pra mim Chopin com suas Baladas super românticas supera, mesmo sendo para piano solo
I think Tchaikovsky is the king of the romantic period
