Such magnificent music....Brings fond memories of our (my husband and I) Phenomenal experiences with our High School
Orchestra....me,violin and him, clarinet. Our music drew us together and here we are, 62 years later, enjoying and loving
alll the composers. Our Hempstead High School Orchestra had the honor of perfoerming at Carnegie Hall, New York City
in 1952.....Franco Autori was the conductor.. indeed, MUSIC HATH CHARM.

Please do not use the term "rockstar" for classical musicians. They are two completely different worlds, and they very rarely intersect. A rockstar would be lost on this stage.

Alena Beave is more than a musician, she`s a true performer, her body movements added so much to my enjoyment. She made that fiddle speak many different languages, fluently. I`ve never heard a violin played so enthusiastically before. She deserved that standing ovation.

The grand concert hall; the orchestra; the music and of course what tops it all is the beauty of Alena and her beautiful rendition of this. @robertmspalding3104 Maybe if you were LISTENING instead of watching, your wife would not be annoyed. Too many here are looking at her instead of listening. This is why, at least it used to be, that people interviewing for joining the major orchestras were required to do so from behind a screen.

@@diannebettag1178 really? OP does say he’s LISTENED to it so many times… seems to me you have made a big jump from that, simply because (presumably) he dared to venture the opinion that Alena is both beautiful and plays beautifully. When did such a view become such an offence? She has not been reduced to her beauty, it’s just a secondary opinion imho. This comment was clearly focussed on the music to me, I think you reduced it to something else. What a shame.

Alena is simply amazing in this piece, which is not an easy one to play. The way she uses nearly 💯 of the bow is even more impressive. That’s not easy to do either. Her finger work is also second to none. The way she goes from one end of the fret to the other almost effortlessly, is truly rare
My mother was a talented violinist and English professor. Her deep love of both classical music, especially Romantic, and the Bard, would work together. For her senior thesis classes she’d always ask students to do an analysis of the way that Tchaikovsky caught Shakespeare

Absolutely love the slower pace taken in the Romeo and Juiliet Overture, especially during the main melody. Really allows everything to have time to really sing out. Beautiful performance

Great performance. I like how it's sped up compared to other conductor's interpretation of the piece and how the conductor has his own distinct style and isn't afraid to be outside the box. Amazing.

Two of Tchaikovsky's supreme masterpieces; the lovely violin concerto, where Alena captures the humour of the cadenza brilliantly, and the heavenly Romeo and Juliet. Bravo to the soloist, the conductor, and this wonderful orchestra. This is a whole hour of lockdown which made me feel optimistic again. Thank you so much for uploading.

Why would the “dislikes” choose this, from the “menu”, to watch and listen? There was NOTHING to dislike; the music, the soloist, the conductor, the orchestra, the camera work, the audience, the concert hall, nothing, everything was perfect. Of course, criticism can be justified, from time to time, when one is “qualified “ to judge, so I am guessing that there there must be more than 1K unsatisfactory areas here that I must have missed? So, I will watch again, and again, to see if I am able to spot them, somebody has to do it!

The "heavy metal" types are envious of and irate at those who enjoy good orchestral music by classical composers snd must find some way to express their anger. That could be one explanation. I dislike the way they have corrupted the classical guitar but see no point to use UA-cam to express that.

I ignore the 'dislikes'. I suggest that you do as well. The knuckle-dragging trolls that dislike this performance and others like it do so to vent the frustration born of their own willful ignorance. And before you ask no, they are not worth your pity either.

A fantastic performance by virtuoso violinist Alena Baeve! I cannot find enough words to praise her talents. But I also appreciate Tchaikovsky's kindness -- towards the end of the Concerto -- when he gives the violinist a REST for a few measures. The short interval allows the violinist to grab a handkerchief -- and WIPE the SWEAT off his/her face (and the violin's surface too) ;-)
