Growing up in Zim, I was 17 when I started looking for a 'different' type of music during the 80s. Then I found classical music! I would listen in my room alone on my small radio, and would respond to the tunes crazily, often standing on my study desk or chair pretending to be a great conductor swinging my arms alternating between energetic swings of vigour and sudden stops and soft movements. My books under my feet, all forgotten. I became an adult, I and had 4 daughters who fortunately took up ballet classes at school. And so classical music lived on for me through them. Mozart has to be my very favourite. I love classical music!

I agree with you 100%. Classical music is very beneficial to our health. It helps you sleep, study, cheer you up if you’re feeling down, and is just great to listen to. This is really the only genre I listen to and I just love it. I listen to it at work on my breaks, and it just relieves any stress I may have. A lot of times I’ll be whistling a movement from a piece, and I can’t stop. It’s also a pretty catchy genre too

I have been listening to this piece of music for nearly seventy years. Initially I found it on my mothers collection of old records in the mid 1950s. The 4 movements were spread over four of the old "78" discs and the entire piece took around 30 to 45 minutes. I can't remember the name of the orchestra but I think it might have been "Halle" . I’m kinda not too crazy invested in classical music, but when I hear it I appreciate the hell out of it. I think it’s crazy that something like this was written in 1787. Music nowadays isn’t necessarily easy to make by any stretch of the imagination, but I can only imagine the vast amount of difficulties that came with writing music in the 18th century as compared to the 21st. Mozart was a friggin genius man. I gotta listen to more of his music and to more classical music in general.

I dont know why but we often forget that these masterpieces exist. No Computers. No sampling. Just writing notes on a piece of paper. I dont think kanye will mbe rememberd 200years after hes passed. But Mozart will. Maybe some day someone will listen to this on Mars or even further away.

I remember the first time I heard this piece. I was in third grade, and my music teacher took us to see a local orchestra near where I live. I never listened to classical music at the time, but I just loved this piece, especially the first movement

That being said, almost everyone I’ve ever heard that has come out with that argument is a much inferior musician. When things don’t need to be said, don’t say them, especially when you’re miseducating. By the way, I do really agree. For a non professional studio recording, this one has some great moments. I think the conductor has a lot to do with that. Anyway, have a great day!
I and my siblings were raised on classical music. 🎵 I love almost all classical music. My father listened to a classical music station every morning, until he went to work. He also taught us about the instruments and music.
Indeed, don't mean to sounds like the cliche "kids nowadays have no idea....", but it's amazing the amount of information, music, and videos we have available at the the touch of our fingertips.
Very lucky indeed. But remember, it took many musicians to play this masterful piece for the recording. These musicians typically started at a young age, went to music schools to practice, practice, and more practice, go to university to study and practice some more. By the time they get accepted to a local orchestra, they are pretty a master of the instrument they play. So a lot of hard work was put into it - please go to your local symphony and attend their concerts once in a while and appreciate their work in person.
This is one piece of music which I have been listening since very young and so close to my heart. Mozart has composed it so soulfully. The orchestra has done a nice work bringing it to life. Thank you!

I believe Mozart originally wrote this for a 5-piece (2 violins, viola, cello and double bass) and I have heard it performed by exactly that, which was beautiful. It’s absolutely awe-inspiring listening to a full orchestra, especially with so many young musicians! Mozart was a complete genius!

I think every genius is inspired by something precious behind his creation. Certainly, Mozart wanted to convey something significant to his audience through the creation of this superb and outstanding piece of symphony which would keep generation after generation mesmerised. But, what was that? What message did he want to convey?
A feeling ... the ones we get, listening to his creation. "The medium is the message."
