Blessed love empress. 👏 I really really love this video ! It is the best I ever watched, you've done everything just right, so amazing! I like the way how give the details in every aspect of the preparation from the beginning to the end💯 continue the great works my sister. Heart a love❤
Right tru, right tru de rocky road, sing, "mi wan some tie-a-leaf NOW!"😂 Living in 🇬🇭 I have to introduce this to the wife. Thanks. By the way, have you tried this with plantain? There's more plantain here in Kumasi than banana.
My dear lady, I am now 71yrs. of age and that was exactly how my grandmother and my mother taught me to make it . Sometimes adding a few currants. That is our Jamaican duckoonu, no cornmeal. EXCELLENT
I was just telling someone on another channel that it was never traditionally made with cornmeal.. this is how i know it to be made and i have watched my great grandmother made it numerous times
Oh I thought it was made with cornmeal and I saw some one using cassava and sweet potato. I live your video and I see where persons are saying this is the original. I am glad I found you I will be making this
Never saw anyone use banana to make Dukkunu. Neither cornmeal. Maybe other culture use banana, but Dukkinu or Blue Draws was always sweet potatos with a bit Pumpum yam, yellow yam or Musella yam. .flour, wet sugar, vanilla, rose water, salt, sometimes peanut, and coconut milk. Is in town l saw people using other stuff like cornmeal and banana. No count trash.. The pudding consist of the same ingredients with more nuts and seeds and but of baking soda. My gran mas were in their ninties when they teach us in the country. I saw other stuffs like Cho- cho root use like yam. But l know Dukkunu or Blue Draws was straight potato and flour or with Yam added, nothing else. This ingredients in the vedio is for banana bread., not Dukkunu. Just bake it and you will see.
Thank you so much for this information. In Jamaica 🇯🇲 we use green banana or cornmeal. I thought of trying sweet potato never knew it was done in some other culture. Which country are you from?
You are totally wrong my dear. Every single step of this video is accurate! This is the original way of making it with the bananas. Peoples are trying to change the recipe but they will never get the original traditional taste as the banana does. I will not eat a dukunu if it's not made from bananas!! This is the right recipe for the thing
I'm from St. Ann and grew up seeing bananas and cornmeal occasionally used. Usually though, my grandma used sweet potato with yam or coco. I've never seen peanut used and peanut has a distinct taste that I don't associate with the taste of blue drawers so I don't think I'd add it, though it may be delicious.
I made some today very delicious but I will try your folding method next time. Love your video, very easy to follow. Well done.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍🏽
Thank you Althea. I can bet how you enjoyed it. You can tell me about it when you try.

It depends where you’re located. I got mine at Walmart in the frozen section.
Things are now at our finger tips
I prefer the banana tie a leaf as well.
Yeah, the banana is just sooo outstanding with the texture and the taste.
