    Hi Kristy, I am a new subscriber from Australia, I love watching you create and love your work, I look forward to making some cards myself. Your concept of using up a whole paper pad at once means it can help me control the amount of supplies building up beyond my capacity to store, as living in a tiny 1 bedroom unit means very limited storage space 😊

    I never tire of watching you create. Your talent is mind-blowing. I am used to several formats you used, but once again you have new sketches to show. How do you know which sketches to use? I was amazed by the snowy hills die that created such beautiful cards. You always add just the right touches (little leaves, hearts, mini brads, etc). How long have you been paper-crafting?

    • @KristieMarcotte
      @KristieMarcotte  7 років тому +1

      Thank you, Beth! I've been trying to choose sketches that I haven't used in my previous videos. My viewers seem to like new sketches. Although I do tend to repeat some of the final sketches to use up the last of the scraps. I first started making cards for my son's birth announcements. So over 14 years ago. Although then I was mostly just scrapbooking. I really got into card-making around 2011 when I started donating cards to Operation Write Home. (The organization is now closed though.)

      +Elsie B Oh no, not in one day. Lol! But I usually only take a few days since the camera and light set up take up a bit of space in my craft room.

    Kristie Marcotte:
    I have a new found appreciation for your card making skills. It took me an entire week to do this particular 6x6. My biggest hurdles are measuring and placing the layers onto the mat correct.
    You make it look soooo easy. I know...practice makes perfect.
    Keep up the great work, I'm still watching and learning.
    When's the next Doodlebug 6x6 coming out?

    • @KristieMarcotte
      @KristieMarcotte  4 роки тому +1

      Miss Tasha Aw, thank you! Yes, keep practicing and making cards. I’ve been making cards this way for many, many years now. I think my crafty OCD helps with the layers though. Lol! Not sure about the next Doodlebug video. It may be an older one since their next releases are birthday girl and boy collections.

    You are amazing love to watch I have trouble coordinating pattern deciding which to put together you make it look so easy. How do you decide which to pair up?

    • @KristieMarcotte
      @KristieMarcotte  8 років тому +1

      +Cindy Fielder Thank you! Using 6x6 paper makes coordinating pretty easy. I tend to mix tone on tone papers with the busier pattern papers. But it also depends on which sketch I use and how much of the pattern paper will show on the card. Try different papers until it looks right.

    What a fabulous range of cards. I will be making just about all of them so thank you for the inspiration. Could you tell me what brand the die is that has the wavy segments? You swapped the prints in each segment to reconstruct the die.

    • @KristieMarcotte
      @KristieMarcotte  8 років тому

      Thank you, Wendy! I'm glad I could provide some inspiration for you. The die cut is called the snowdrifts coverup from My Favorite Things. It's perfect for using up those last scraps.

    Hi Kristie! Thank you so much for your videos. I am not much of a card maker but watching your 6x6 videos makes it seems like it is something I can give a try. I just have a couple of questions. The first one what is the "pen thing" (for a lack of a better word) that you use to put the dots on your cards with? The other question I have is what makes you decide to use that thing verses the brads? And lastly do you only use those to or have you ever used eyelets for accenting your cards?

    • @KristieMarcotte
      @KristieMarcotte  8 років тому

      +Ashley Giblin-Brown Thank you! I think you are referring to Pearl Pen. I like to use it because the end result looks similar to brads, but it doesn't have the dimension of brads. Which is nice when you are mailing cards. I'm not a big fan of eyelets and haven't used them for several years. I just don't care for the look of them.

    • @JrsScraptacularMom
      @JrsScraptacularMom 8 років тому

      Yes the pearl pen. Thank you for that info. I really appreciate it.

    Another great video!!! Do you make your card bases or buy them? If you buy them where from because I have never found any that are 4.25 x 5.5.... they are always
    4 x 5.5.

      +kelli green Thank you! I buy a full case of 8 1/2 x 11" paper from a local paper store. (Kelly Paper) I have them cut the whole case in half for card bases. It saves me so much time. The paper I use is International Paper Accent Opaque Digital 100 lb.
