- Looking for an ayurvedic morning routine to start your day right? Dinacharya, or ayurvedic daily routine, has lots of benefits! Kathryn Templeton describes the top nine practices in her holistic morning routine-how they cleanse the body and prevent the buildup of toxins, help keep the senses and mind clear, and nourish the body. She also explains that repeating a morning routine sets your day and gives you a feeling of stability and steadiness, and she offers advice on how to gradually ease your way into a healthy morning routine, rather than beginning with all nine practices.

at what point should we brush our teeth?
I am glad you are teaching this to people. Indians themselves have stopped doing most of these wonderful practices.

Ur right bro we Indians have forget this This content will be hardly on Indian utubers 🤦🤦🤦🤦what's wrong with us
Thank you for sharing!
this is so helpful! Thank you
thanks for the video
I believe “ushapana” (drinking warm water ) should be the first thing in d list as you got medicinal saliva in your mouth in d morning which helps in neutralizing the stomach acid. Of course, you need to brush before night
Love these! Thank you))
Drinking water early morning on an empty stomach is called "ushapaan" in ayurveda. It is not suggested anywhere to add any thing else .I guess people outside India are not comfortable with drinking just plain water( tasteless but only essential liquid to humankind) . It is expected to drink it slowly sip by sip. Drink at least 1-2 glasses. Depending on your Kaph- pitta-vaat , different temperature of water has also been suggested to aid in digestion. Also, sit with legs crossed. Try drinking it out of a copper vessel, if you can't then a normal glass would do just as fine.
NICE
Thank you 🙏
Very well explained
Yeah, I was thinking...wow, what a looooooong list of things.
It all sounds so lovely and caring toward oneself.
I'm going to take your advice and begin with three, and build from there.
I find it really doesn't take me too long, and I also do other things not in her list. Between 1-2 hours I think. But that doesn't include yoga because yoga is another hour or so each day hehe.
Enjoyed seeing the order you do everything in ☺️ I've been practising my dinacharya since mid-2015 after yoga teacher training, but never thought to search how others are doing theirs till now! Thanks for sharing ☺️

Ayurveda
Ayurveda is coming to the west like a rollercoaster.
Wonderful practices!😍 Definitely love Ayurveda ❤️
Have you tried the kansa wand?✨
Thank you for the detailed explanation!!
I need to use a cooking oil for abhayanga, which would you recommend?
Sesame oil
I am so fascinated by Ayurveda, I would love to take some training one day. I agree that routines are so important but I hope that you don't have to go through all 9 each day?! Haha, that seems like a very lengthy process for these busy lifestyles.. though of course I see the importance of it!
Remember you can do
AYURVEDA IS BEST FOR ALL OF US
I find it really doesn't take me too long, and I also do other things not in her list. Between 1-2 hours I think. But that doesn't include yoga because yoga is another hour or so each day.
But I work from home now thanks to the world situation so I suppose the hour or 2 that other people spend on commuting, I spend it doing this morning routine hehe.
How long does this Dinacharya procedure last?
Q: How do I balance drava-bahula amlapitta?
Pitta as well all know comprises of water and fire. In this pitta imbalance we have an increase in the water element.
Pungent herbs are usually pitta aggravating. But since fire has the power to dry out the water, can they be useful?
Can I use only sesame oil as Nasya oil after Netipot?
I learned of this system in college. Wake up time is important in this practice, but I work 3rd shift. How can I adjust the routine to fit a 3rd shift schedule?
I completely understand your situation. Sometimes the ideal method is not realistic. The real benefit of these practices is to do them when you wake up (if your schedule does not allow for you to wake up before dawn).
The routine doesn't require as much time as you might think because some practices take a minute or less, and some can be done simultaneously.
Now would be an important time to start doing Neti if not doing it already.
I’ve read that we have to drink water before tongue scrapping. The toxins on tongue apparently have medicinal benefits as they are digestive byproducts. Could you please confirm
to drink before cleaning the tongue and mouth carries them back into the body
For morning routine, what's the order of preference for below activities.
Meditation, tongue scraping and drinking warm water.
Namaste ~ 1st tongue scraping, then water, followed by meditation. You want to meditate having cleaned your sensory organs and gone to the bathroom. How are these practices working for you?
@@LalaNaidu thank you!
Thank you Lala 🤍
India
I like to do a 1.5 hr of cardio aerobic wrkout..so when I can do it before or after abyanga
What is the method of training the body to "evacuate" in the morning. If anyone knows I would greatly appreciate the feedback.
What? You mean you can't just poop at will like Ayurvedic people can?
Take triphala at night time, then in the morning take a teaspoon of ghee followed by warm water. Then you'll find you can pass motion more easily.
U can drink hot water by sipping. It helps me
Start waking up before dawn , say 5:30 and you will get a natural call within 20-30 mins . 6 am - 6:30 am
For most of the Indians in general this is the usual Dinacharya i.e. daily routine. They follow most of the things mentioned in the video and so many other practises as well. Unfortunately, Due to western impact now a days, some people have adopted wrong practises and hence suffer as a consequence..!
Please give CREDIT to the Hindu community of South Asia for the knowledge of Ayurveda and the source of your knowledge.
Could you use lotions instead during the abhayanga rather than oils?
Nope
No oil massage with sesame oil is only recommended for abhyanga
If you do all this in the morning...then what do you do in the evening 🤔
That is called Ratricarya
The best daily Ayurvedic routine will always be to take 1 tablespoon (= 15 ml) castor oil early in the morning on an empty stomach. So you will not only be able to cleanse your bowels from all the waste but your liver from all toxins deposed there too.
Can a being start taking 1 tablespoon in the risings right away?..or should they start with a smaller dose like a teaspoon?
@@pineconebliss Begin with 1 tablespoon (= 15 ml) castor oil and mix this in your mouth with the saliva for 30 minutes before swallowing this one. In this manner castor oil will lose its bad taste and high viscosity and will no more irritate the mucosa of the stomach. Castor oil is no drink but a fatty oil and this one should be predigested !
Indians please open your senses
Ji Sahi Kaha aapne. Apne desh k logo ko apne desh k hee gyaan me interest Nahi hai.
Bohot sharam ki baat hai ye
Kindly do not generalize 🙏🏻 there are majority of us Indians who actually do a lot yogic , ayurvedic routines on a daily basis🙏🏻 not just these routines, but much more💗
What are the things you can do to make sure you evacuate in the morning?
Regularity brings to regularity but if you use more fresh cooked vegetable (according to your constitution), boiled water, self abhyanga and excercise in the morning, light dinner this will help you as it helped me and if you need something more you can use triphala, sorry for my English and hoping to be helpful
@@ayurvedicamente thank you i understand perfectly... im from holland myself so no worries. Have a good day in these times ❤
@@porichechannel Thanks, have a good day too ❤
@@ayurvedicamente what is abhyanga
@@fazeelalaher6250 Abhyanga is oil massage or oil self massage in Ayurveda
It's ironic that Indians have long forgotten these practices.Basic dinacharya makes a lot of sense.
"Most of the Americans don't evacuate in the morning".Is that a fact? That's really appalling if it is true.
Seriously! Most Western People Don't Evacuate.... GROSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!
@@abhijit921 that explains why they are full of..................:)
I like to see a guide in minimal clothes to see if they are actually fit and lean.. So many that give Ayurvedic advice are overweight
