Great vid man, I love my Goldclaws. Once I get down to the black sands I like to forward wash the cons like a traditional pan over the smaller riffles, with no need to back wash to reveal the gold at the end. I also have the 5 litre production Goldclaw, no buckets no sluice, just hand dredge straight into the Production pan, and tub up cons for home reveal. Production Goldclaw and dredge, real game changer for an old fart like me with a bad back....lol Happy panning bud.
Hi, I'm a Geography and Geology teacher in Somerset and I have some students who are really getting into their rocks and minerals. I'd love to take them out one day to try some panning. Any ideas on where to go and on some decent beginners equipment. I'm just looking to fuel their enthusiasm. Cheers!
To avoid problems, you should probably be aware that - "While you don't need a formal license to pan for gold in English streams and rivers, you must obtain permission from both the landowner and The Crown Estate. Given that The Crown Estate is unlikely to grant permission to remove gold found through panning, it's crucial to be aware of and comply with all relevant regulations and permissions before engaging in gold panning activities." Good luck. But I think that you and a bunch of students are going to stand out and draw attention.

Please don't take this the wrong way but do you make sure that you aren't destroying fish spawning sites? I have no idea whether the locations you go to have any fish in them but dredging up the gravel from a river bed could kill lots of different wildlife.

I founda amazing potential site near Cardiff just a couple of miles away is a tin mine plus the rivers going west show massive geological promise

@@Bikergerbil I do tributaries mainly with no spawning I do I never pan on rivers on the spawning season

It's always best to ask permission as it's private land. I do a 1 day course and point people in thr right direction.
