Love the content. I am hoping you keep these bike builds coming for a long time.
I have the same bike and I need to know how to adjust the fuel air screw in the bottom of the carb any tips?
"What i love about little bikes, everyhting is so simple" followed by "Guess you have to take half the bike appart just to get to the carb". Hehe.
Thanks for this. New to bikes, I have the same one and have a leaky carb.
The O Ring you discarded is part of the fuel mixture screw, a spring slides over the screw, then a washer goes on top and finally the O ring
You skipped right over getting the throttle cable hooked back up - probably what I'm having the most trouble with . How did you get the cable into the spring , and compress it enough to hook the cable into the slide , without it popping out of your hands ? Is there a tool for it ?
Good stuff, Luke. Have a '79 Twinstar. Up in Cleveland. Sluggish on acceleration after barely riding last year. Probably going to have to take the carb off and clean things. This video makes it a bit less intimidating.
I have a couple questions if you don't mind. I have a 1980 cm200t and I took the whole bike apart a few months ago. I'm in the process of putting it back together and I'm wondering if the fuel line connects near the choke what connects to the float bowl? Also with the crankcase breather connects at the side of that little sealed filter, but there's another tube that goes down into the frame. Where does that go? I started following your channel with your cx500 so it was awesome to see you pick up this bike, one so similar to mine. Thank you!
The connector on the base of the float bowl is for an overflow drain tube that exits at the bottom of the frame. I believe the other tube is a breather/drain that also exits underneath the bike. Thanks for watching.
Great video, thanks! Music choice?
love the vids man
Yes more vids! Just thinking out loud but isnt repair better then replacing parts on an old bike with limited parts? Also hase the wife had a go yet?
I suppose it depends on the part itself and the bike. For a true restoration, I might be more inclined to keep everything as original as possible. For a bike that's a 'fixer-upper' like this one, I lean towards the better quality solution.
She will soon.
How did you get the needle seat out
Is there much of a difference between the cmt200 and the 185?
Awesome job
You skipped everything, you did not show us where each individual part went, I had a brass piece and a spring fall out of my carbi and was hoping you would show me where it goes but no...
The “valve” you replaced is commonly called a petcock.
It is.
