    Sure wish keyster would list carb kits by the carb, not the bike. Keep up the great videos

      Thanks Rusty! It definitely would help if they did it that way, plugging in a model number off the side of a carb would ensure that you get exactly what you need!

    Love watching your videos mate, especially the ones with carb rebuilds! Maybe I should send you a bottle of Tricopur R33 for you to try out on your carbs. Best regards! /Kanobels Förgasarservice

    If I didn't have an ultrasonic bath, what would the best way to clean parts??

    • @blastworks
      @blastworks  2 роки тому

      You can buy gallon containers of carb cleaner that have a basket come with them. They look like a can of paint, like this:

      Hey Alex! I thought I replied to your comment but I must not have hit send. The diagram at the following link (www.cmsnl.com/honda-xl185s-1981-b-canada_model50269/partslist/0252.html) should show you the exploded view diagram of the carb for the XL185 and you should see where all the hoses go!

    Been searching and searching and I can’t find a carb rebuild kit for a 1978 Honda XL 125 with float? Or a full carb for purchase.

    • @blastworks
      @blastworks  3 роки тому

      Hey Gerard. Here's a link to a carb kit with a float on ebay, double check and make sure it applies:
      www.ebay.ca/itm/222705335848?epid=14008569752
      Also, here's a link to a carb that could be used to replace the OEM carb, once again, double check and make sure it's good:

    Do u know what size jets were in the carburettor as mine was stolen off my bike cheers thankyou

    • @blastworks
      @blastworks  2 роки тому

      Hey Dylan! The stock get for the 185 (which is the motor that is in mine) is a 102, see this link here:
      www.cmsnl.com/honda-xl185s-1982-c-usa_model7682/jetmain-102_991013931020/
      According to this forum post on thumpertalk, the same main jet is used on the XL125s.

      Hope this helps!

    Should the needle jet holder fall out or do you have to tap it out?

    • @blastworks
      @blastworks  4 роки тому

      Are you referring to the pin that holds the float and needle jet to the posts? If so, some times they need a tap to get them out.

    • @TheAnimator1808
      @TheAnimator1808 4 роки тому

      @@blastworks I don't know if I'd call it a pin. It's a small, cylindrical tube that sits below the main jet and the part in which you screw the main jet into. I got it with my repair kit. It's almost in the very centre of the carb, I'll try and find a reference image.

    Great video, really helped me out. I just have one question, and that is do you know how the choke lever works on these carbs? It doesn't seem like you can toggle the lever to be on or off, so do I need a separate cable operated switch for it to work like a toggle switch?

    • @blastworks
      @blastworks  4 роки тому +1

      They are indeed cable actuated, the choke switch/lever is located up by the triple tree and the cable runs down and slots into the choke lever on the carb.

    Hello. How many turn the screw of air and fuel mixture?

    • @blastworks
      @blastworks  4 роки тому +1

      Hey Bri! I usually start at 1.5 turns as a baseline. This is the recommended setting from the maintenance manual! Good luck with the tuning!

    love your videos! I'd prefer real time filming so I can follow step by step rather than the speeded up sections but still awesome nonetheless. Love your Canadian accent too, I'm in New Zealand now but I used to live in Vancouver. We can't easily get carb kits or any spare parts down here. I'd love to rebuild my 1979 XL 100s carb and put a choke cable on it, new throttle cable etc but just can't get the parts :-(. Here's my bike... ua-cam.com/video/qoac0OzbXiI/v-deo.html
