+Dharu Manyo this guy gets it. wrestling is just not the same anymore. im not even a fan of roh or czw (unless its deathmatches) i prefer watching 80s and 90s stuff. right now im watching smoky mountain wrestling. someone put up the 1994 episodes.
Honestly, I legit don't think any of the wrestling games from that era have aged super well. Def Jam: Fight for NY is the only AKI Engine game I can go back to. Here Comes The Pain is my GOAT, and I don't mind the 2K games either.
Virtual Pro Wrestling 2 (Japan import) is damn good too. Same engine and similar graphics, but with more characters and a bonus shoot-style grappling system.
+Tyler Belisle I can agree with that to a certain extent, but I never played that game until earlier this year (had an N64 as a kid but wasn't into wrestling then), and I liked it a lot.
As a wrestling fan of many decades I will give you guys a lot of credit for giving this a fair shot, and not just riddling it with "oily men in spandex" gags that most non-wrestling fans tend to think is hilarious. Good episode.
I feel like most of your complaints of WWF Wrestlemania and No Mercy (No Mercy is the holy grail of wrestling games imo) was due to lack of knowledge of WWF and basic controls of the game. For example the special you were trying to use was probably being blocked by the cpu, you were supposed weaken your opponent first then use the special.
+CaptainFarthouse Yes I agree. Some real lack of knowledge displayed about No Mercy, WM 2000, and WCW/nWo Revenge (the only games I'm familiar with). Funniest example was Joe saying that "Summerslam" is a game mode (its an arena). I understand Joe/Dave don't like wrestling games and made the video for the fans , but I don't understand why they couldn't spend just 10 minutes looking up the controls on GameFaqs before playing.
+royals4lyfe Precisely my point in another comment and I'm being called a troll. I don't expect them to know everything about every game they go over, but at least do a little bit of research on the controls first.
+AlphaOmegaSin When Nintendo had that fan vote for a character in Smash, I voted for Starman despite the fact I knew he didn't have a chance. So I did my part.
The funny part is he gave WCW revenge a great review!! LMAO 🤣 Same engine just stripped down! He said the moves were hard to do on no mercy but easy on revenge!! The things people say for views!! 🤣
Oh dear lord, I had to stop after the Iron Man match..."I pin the guy, he just gets right back on up!" Yeah. That's how Iron Man matches work. Set length of match, each wrestler is trying to score the most pinfalls in the time limit. I usually like your vids, but dude, you were very much out of your league here. This one's pretty bad.
+Dave Bautistaroid Don't forget, ladder matches are just matches you can use a ladder in! Oh wait, that's actually how the real ECW did ladder matches, isn't it. Weird, not like you couldn't use a ladder in any other ECW match, lol.
tbb033 I don't want to be too hard on them. Their vids are usually great, very enjoyable stuff. This one though needed some more research and prep time.
How about a Swan songs episode? Dedicated to those last titles in a console's life that showed either how much the programmers were masters of the hardware, or how tired they were of it. Or a comparison with launch titles.
My N64 was basically a WWF simulation machine for my friends and me during the late 90's. Even after I got a Dreamcast, we still played Wrestlemania 2000 and No Mercy all the time.
It's videos like this that really make the politeness of these guys stand out and it's something I appreciate. Anyone ever play Cutie Suzuki: No Ringside Angel?
+Super Mastodon I always preferred Shut Your Mouth over it, though Just Bring It, SYM and HCtP were three of my favourites, the career modes were fantastic.
I'm not really a wresting fan, but still thought that this was a great episode. I really appreciate you comparing & contrasting both home console versions of Saturday Night Slam Masters. Between covering those games, a Fire Pro Wrestling game, Pro Wrestling for the NES, and several WWF games, I'm really not sure what people are taking issue with. Can't make everybody happy!
The issue is they didn't had any clue. It's like picking the game, play one match then next game. He didn't knew that the ladder match you have to actually climb the ladder and grab the title hanging to win or that an ironman match is racking point by pin or submission until time runs out. It was cringeworthy
+Chronologo C'mon, what did you expect? If you're a fan of the series, you'd know he just isn't in to wrestling at all. I love No Mercy, to the point where playing on anything other than expert is pointless for me, but even I can appreciate that he was just trying to appease requests to cover the genre. I thought it was rather nobwl for him to even try to be honest, cringe free viewing.
+DvdXploitr I feel like Wresting games the 90s were the advent of "genre games", in part. I feel like most other games used to make an effort to appeal to a wide audience. Even sports games. But 90s Wrestling games were the genre that felt like they were saying, "we're making this for people who are into this thing and we don't really care if it makes sense or is appealing to anyone else." Most sports games are like that, now.
+Shinku Quickman All sports games are like Call of Duty now... Pretty much the same stuff recycled every year. But to be honest it's wrestling, you can't really make it any different
Amai I don't think that's quite true. I mean, wrestling fans might not WANT it any different, but you could say, make it about putting on a good show and have it be a co-op game. Or you could make it a management game and have it be about running the WWE. or it could be an RPG about the life of a wrestler. Or you could make it entirely in the "all this is real" vein and play up characters like the Undertaker REALLY being dead, or whatever. I feel like there's lots of room to play, but it all involves risk and nobody does that anymore.
I've seen some horrible stuff in early 8bit. There were a few decent for the tech. It seems these games are WILDLY different in quality even from one release to the next. I don't play them but I do follow the reviews. Last couple years they've been blasting out some real turds. Not like wrestling fans have another outlet atm. Can't go to shows, they don't make other forms of media besides games. Guess you'll have to spread em and take it or don't play at all :-( Curious.... would you rather have a clipping glitches with EVERY popular wrestler, or a mechanically fantastic game with killer audio, smooth animation, and clean hits.... but no wrestlers you've ever seen before?
WCW/NWO Revenge will forever be my go to wrestling game! So many good memories! I also like how games that James, Pat and others will absolutely dog and tear apart, Game Sack will show their good points and show why they can be fun.
Hey GS! Thanks for all the videos, I think it would be fun to see an episode on games that need some sort of special peripheral or controller; Donkey Kong Jungle Beats, Steel Battalion, ect. It be real interesting to see what unique things various developers made for all sorts of consoles! Thanks you and keep making making videos!
I get the feeling you both don't like Wrestling , lol! Either way thanks for the video. Fire Pro Wrestling is deffently not a button masher. If you button Mash that game you would never win.
I always thought that AKI was a little overrated, but I wish they could come back and partner up with yukes, rather than Visual Concepts. They make a realistic game, but not a fun one.
Here's a list of quality wrestling games not covered in this episode: Body Slam Pro Wrestling (Intellivision) Tecmo Tag Team Wrestling (NES) WWF Super Superstars (Arcade) WWF Wrestlefest (Arcade) 3-Count Bout (Neo-Geo) King of the Monsters 2 (Neo-Geo) Zen-Nippon Pro Wrestling series (Super Famicom) Gekitou Burning Pro Wrestling (Super Famicom) WWF Wrestlemania: The Video Game (Arcade & Multiplatform) Jikkyou Power Pro Wrestling '96 (Super Famicom) Ring Rage (Arcade) Virtual Pro Wrestling 2 (N64) Big Bang Pro Wrestling (NGPC) WWE: Here Comes the Pain (PS2) WWE: Day of Reckoning series (Gamecube) Fire Pro Wrestling 2 (GBA) - Japanese version only, as that version had an exclusive manager mode Fire Pro Wrestling Returns (PS2) Def Jam series (PS2) Wrestle Kingdom series (PS2) WWE All-Stars (Multiplatform & 3DS) - 3DS version has the DLC characters as in-game unlockables
+PinMike8666 I would add Legends of Wrestling 2 to that list, the first one was awful but the controls were improved in the sequel and the roster is still one of the best ever, I mean you get to play as everyone from Hulk Hogan to One Man Gang so what is not to love?
Back in high school those N64 wrestling games were all the rave. They did a great job of making a lot of the characters feel unique, and the custom character options became incredibly deep by No Mercy. We used to have some epic matches back in the day and this episode really took me back! Saturday Night Slam Masters was also a childhood favorite. Just loved this episode, thanks guys!
oh man it's like trying to review soccer games. so many of them and if you're not into the sport in the first place it's a lost cause. I never cared for wrestling though, too much oil, spandex and drama :)
Suggestions for part 2: Virtual Pro Wrestling 1 and 2 -N64 (japanese import) I will let you borrow mine if you want. Wrestlefest (Arcade) Fire ProWrestling D (dreamcast) WCW vs the World (PS1) Smackdown 2 (PS1) WWF Raw (SNES/Genesis)
As always, great job guys. I can't wait for the sequel episode, as there are quite a few still to cover. the FirePro series has been my favorite for its flexibility and customizable wrestlers, matches, rings etc. They are certainly niche titles and it almost takes a wrestling fan to fully appreciate the depth. For non fans, the GS crew did a solid job. Keep it up!
Ahhh, wrestling games. The memories. Just like me and my uncle used to play. Guys dressed up in spandex, sweating as they throw each other around and get all close... but we never had a console..
+the7thlevl I was a little disappointed to not see some of my faves on here. WWE Royal Rumble for Dreamcast, Tecmo World Wrestling on NES, Wrestle War on Genesis/Mega Drive, WWE All Stars on PS3... And for laughs, the WCW games for PS1 were some of the absolute WORST.
+the7thlevl WCW Nitro was almost just as bad on the PC, and I remember it sometimes having game breaking glitches that caused it too crash when used with a Voodoo Banshee card, but at least it had a lot of wrestlers, and the load times were decent when it did work, but it was sluggish as hell to play, and controls on a keyboard were just a mess, if you did not have something at the time like a Gravis Gamepad, or a Microsoft Sidewinder gamepad(still have one, and it's nice for old school emulators).
It was interesting to see a non-wrestling-fan encountering concepts like a ladder match, an ironman match, run-ins, etc. for the first time (and not particularly understanding them)
+KWKBOX They covered Wrestlemania- The Arcade Game in the Sega 32x episode as well, but I believe have yet to cover Royal Rumble. Either on the Dreamcast, Genesis, or SNES.
Thanks for covering Pro Wrestling for NES! I spent a lot of time with that game as a child. It was always satisfying to see the "A winner is you!" screen after a victory. Apparently they changed this to "winner is you" in a revision which sucks because a winner is you is way funnier! PS I bought your Blu-Ray.... Can't wait for the 1992 goodness!
You played all my favorite wrestling games here. Thanks guys! As always, my favorite part was the post credits gag. Laughed pretty hard! Great episode!!
I am a 90s wrestling/wrestling game fan so this video was right up my alley. When I was watching you guys repeatedly saying how these aren't necessarily your favorites and you're not super steeped in the subject matter and it's ok if the viewers disagree with your assessments, I thought surely the comment section will be respectful. Not so much. Chill out guys, no reason to be so nasty toward two guys who are entertaining us. Thanks Joe & Dave for all you do!
Game Sack does it again. Yet another excellent video. As a wrestling fan, I particularly enjoyed this episode. There are plenty of games left to do a part 2. You mentioned most of the top console games, I was satisfied with your selections. I'm really glad you included Slam Masters. I will never sell my SNES copy from back when it originally came out. It was an excellent arcade game that was well translated onto the 16-bit systems.
The music you mentioned at 13:02 was a real WCW background music piece they used back in the day, usually when they were listing off upcoming events. It's not the N64, it actually sounded like that on TV.
Fun fact: Barbed wire is actually used in some japanese wrestling, even dynamite. King of the Death Match comes to mind, where Mick Foley fought Terry Funk in the finale. He was coated in blood by the end of it. And people say Wrestling is fake. It may not be two guys hating each other but they still spill their guts to make the fight an emotional and interesting one.
It’s very clear to me after watching this that you need to be a wrestling fan to fully appreciate these games. The fact that Joe thought the ladder match in No Mercy was a boring gimmick is all the proof you need. That absolutely blew my mind when I bought that game, and it added a lot of tension to each match, hoping to grab the title before your opponent can make it to his feet and vice versa. Or maybe take 10 minutes to learn the controls, I don’t know.
First I'd like to thank the guys at Game Sack for putting these videos together. I get a lot of enjoyment out of them as they cover many many video game systems I've either had or have been very interested in throughout my life. As I am now 29 years old, the golden NES age was coming into full swing when I had been barely old enough to play. I think I got my first NES when I was 4. Along the way I've had fond memories with the SMS, NES, SNES, Sega (w 32x and CD), Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, Sega Saturn, N64, PS1, PS2, PS3, and PS4. So you can save I have owned and enjoyed many different systems over the years. Currently I only have a PS4, PS3 and a Wii. I'd kinda like to see Game Sack do a little more with the newer systems if they have them. I like the older stuff, and wouldn't get tired of the majority of it featuring nostalgic systems but it would be a nice break to see newer systems / games a tiny bit more. I had several wrestling games growing up, and didn't play any of these games but the video was interesting enough. I think what I liked most was that these guys are willing to go into genres they don't care for, and review games they do not necessarily love, because the fans asked for it. I had games like WWF Raw and the sequel, which I can't remember right now. Not my favorites, but I spent many hours spread across the two or three wrestling games I did have. @ the trolls Game Sack does this for us, the fans. They don't do it to make money. I know they put out a Blu-Ray and it's a great way for subscribers to show support but at the end of the day it's not paying bills for them. Some comments below suggested these guys doing in depth research on games they might not be familiar with. I'm sure the people making those comments have no idea how much time goes into making a 20-30 min video by the time it's all said and done. Again, this isn't their full time job. I don't expect them to spend hours researching these things. If they don't like a game that you love, and you think it's because they just didn't know enough to like it, then provide useful and constructive criticism. Being rude and childish will push this to where they eventually disable comments or take some other sort of action. I'll still watch either way but it would be sad for it to have to come to that. This is some of the very little content on youtube that really holds my interest. I feel the show has real value as far as entertainment goes and it doubles as a nice trip down memory lane for me at times. They do a great job and deserve more respect and consideration then a lot of the trolls are giving.
I Always enjoy your videos, thank you for your time in making these, they are highly entertaining. All I can say is health, prosperity and many great things to come in this new year for you guys. Cheers! Luis !
WCW/NWO games for N64. Played the hell out of those games back in the day. With as many cousins as I have, 40-man Battle Royal kept us occupied when the fam got together.
this is a surprise for me. many people are talkin' 'bout this kind of game and I just dunno what the heck am I goin' to say. I know there're a few titles on N64 and SNES, so this is a great tutorial for me to pick up the recommendations you've shown. thank you.
If you ever decide to go back to Fire Pro, it's usually not a button masher. You usually have to time the button presses with the grab. It's my favorite wrestling series. Good video!
Played pro wrestling for hours on end, back in the day. Hands down my all time favourite wrestling game, and just one of my all time favourite games period.
Since you're obviously inexperienced at these types of games, maybe you should get someone who has played them explain the mechanics to you like you're 5. In order to do the finishing maneuvers, you have to be in a certain position to initiate them when you hit the joystick.
+blankshell You realize this is a weekly show, don't you? Do you expect them to be experts on every single game they cover, every single week? That's just stupid. I suggest you stop watching their videos and commenting on them if it upsets you that much. Nobody will miss you.
I demand you play Wrestlemania 2000 and No Mercy again and again until you like it.
+shawnsdada How? the other guy thought I was serious sounds like a troll win fool.
+Keith Hussey
Wrestlemania 2000 and No Mercy are some the best wrestling games ever made, Kinda shocked and Disappointed they didn't like them much
+Dharu Manyo You seem like a true wrestling fan Have you played Fire Pro Wrstling Returns? That's a game MADE for purists like us.
+Dharu Manyo this guy gets it. wrestling is just not the same anymore. im not even a fan of roh or czw (unless its deathmatches) i prefer watching 80s and 90s stuff. right now im watching smoky mountain wrestling. someone put up the 1994 episodes.

No Mercy is still the best wrestling game ever made.
+Coldfear22 Also Royal Rumble for Genesis, plus a few other very similar games are good.
Virtual Pro Wrestling 2 (Japan import) is damn good too. Same engine and similar graphics, but with more characters and a bonus shoot-style grappling system.
No mercy all the way
hands down brotha i played so many wrestling games through out my childhood nothing compares to Wrestlemania 2000 and No mercy...
It's amazing that No Mercy is still better than any of the fancy stuff we see on these new, ultra powerful consoles.
I miss No Mercy on the N64. One of the best.
+AlphaDog yeah, the only wrestling game i got into and liked it was awesome.
no mercy is all you need
+Tyler Belisle I can agree with that to a certain extent, but I never played that game until earlier this year (had an N64 as a kid but wasn't into wrestling then), and I liked it a lot.
i liked no mercy but nwo revenge is ny favorite literally had some of my best childhood moments with that .
no mercy rules, me n my buddies after 3 years reunited and we had to pop in N.M and our memory card still had our CAW. Good times
As a wrestling fan of many decades I will give you guys a lot of credit for giving this a fair shot, and not just riddling it with "oily men in spandex" gags that most non-wrestling fans tend to think is hilarious. Good episode.

+Dakota Jones I'm glad to see the sensible people are showing up on these videos.
+Dakota Jones I couldn't agree more. Or get someone who knows how to play the games to come in as a guest.
Still waiting on Star Man to show up in Smash Bros
+AlphaOmegaSin Mind = Blown
+TheFaceThief Just watched good movie
+AlphaOmegaSin When Nintendo had that fan vote for a character in Smash, I voted for Starman despite the fact I knew he didn't have a chance. So I did my part.
+AlphaOmegaSin IKR? His elbow slam is a perfect dash smash. Lots of stuff they could do with the character. :D
+AlphaOmegaSin I've been asking for him since Melee
Never seen such a poor review of No Mercy
The funny part is he gave WCW revenge a great review!! LMAO 🤣 Same engine just stripped down! He said the moves were hard to do on no mercy but easy on revenge!! The things people say for views!! 🤣
@@davedub5959 I played both games and there the same fucking buttons for both games so this guys review is stupid mate 😂
I have many great memories with all the Wrestling games on N64.
N64 has some of the best wrestling games.
You just do a strong grapple then flick the analog stick to do a finisher in the N64 WWF games, Joe. Who told you to press a shoulder button?
Missed so many games Like Wrestlemania the Arcade Game, Royal Rumble for the Dreamcast, The ECW Games, TNA Games, WCW Backstage Assault, etc...
Oh crap were we supposed to include them all into a single episode? Shame on us I guess. :P
Yes. Its OK I forgive you LOL
+Johnny Suarez no they didn't have you played those games. Minus the first two games you stated, but the rest.......yikes. take care man.
+Timothy Andrews
They should have at least included Wrestlefest
+Game Sack You also forgot WWE 216, WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2011, and WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2008
"Fire pro wrestling is a button masher"
Uhh pretty sure the series is/ has and always will be the exact opposite of that
Shows how these guys know NOTHING about wrestling games. Hilarous.
Dude, I'm not mad at all. This was the video I've been wanting for months! Thanks Game Sack!

I don't think the videos bad just cuz they don't know s*** about wrestling lol
How about a Swan songs episode? Dedicated to those last titles in a console's life that showed either how much the programmers were masters of the hardware, or how tired they were of it. Or a comparison with launch titles.
Finally....been looking forward to this episode for so long. The n64 had the best wrestling games but I always loved fire pro on my ps1 too
My N64 was basically a WWF simulation machine for my friends and me during the late 90's. Even after I got a Dreamcast, we still played Wrestlemania 2000 and No Mercy all the time.
I love waking up on sundays, because that always means a new Gamesack is out. Life is kinda cool sometimes
When Joe walks in a flips on the N64, that's me with every sports game I turn on.
EXCEPT FOR GOLF!!! I LOVE GOLF!!!!!!1!1!1!!!
+Ryan Amberger yea something about golf games is just so fun compared to normal sports games.
+Ryan Amberger Mario Tennis 64 FTW.
It's videos like this that really make the politeness of these guys stand out and it's something I appreciate. Anyone ever play Cutie Suzuki: No Ringside Angel?
WWE Here Comes the Pain will always be my favorite! Thanks for doing an episode dedicated to wrestling! :D
+Super Mastodon I always preferred Shut Your Mouth over it, though Just Bring It, SYM and HCtP were three of my favourites, the career modes were fantastic.
+WarriorRazor yup, me too. Always thought SYM was a better game than HCTP. Plus HCTP wrestler's model looked weird
Great game, and Smack down PS1 too.
That's a big fave of mine too, possibly the best of the old Smackdown series.
+Super Mastodon - Also my favorite wrestling game too. :)
Nothing like a new Game Sack episode!
I'm not really a wresting fan, but still thought that this was a great episode. I really appreciate you comparing & contrasting both home console versions of Saturday Night Slam Masters. As much as I do like wrestling games, I think its best for Game Sack just do episodes for games they do enjoy because this was not fun to watch
Wresting games in the 90s were like Call of Duty now...pretty much the same stuff recycled every year

Stop being kinky and naughty. :3
+Natasha Conner HAHA
Damn I used to play the N64 and PS1 WCW, WWF, and ECW. Great Times. Now it's 2K Garbage. All Hail the Great THQ and AKI
I always thought that AKI was a little overrated, but I wish they could come back and partner up with yukes, rather than Visual Concepts. They make a realistic game, but not a fun one.
Agreed. They are all CoD-afied now.
+PTGKChrisHD 2K is THQ lol anyways I do enjoy WWE 2K games for what it is.
+ThrashAD720 2K was first owned by Sega. THQ went bankrupt in 2009 after Vin Diesel's Wheelman for PS3 and Xbox 360
+Kalilu Jawara we need a WWE Jam or WWE Blitz. Lol
My personal favorite wrestling game is WWE Day of Reckoning 2 for the GameCube. The story mode for that one was just perfect.
Here's a list of quality wrestling games not covered in this episode:
Body Slam Pro Wrestling (Intellivision)
Tecmo Tag Team Wrestling (NES)
WWF Super Superstars (Arcade)
WWF Wrestlefest (Arcade)
3-Count Bout (Neo-Geo)
King of the Monsters 2 (Neo-Geo)
Zen-Nippon Pro Wrestling series (Super Famicom)
Gekitou Burning Pro Wrestling (Super Famicom)
WWF Wrestlemania: The Video Game (Arcade & Multiplatform)
Jikkyou Power Pro Wrestling '96 (Super Famicom)
Ring Rage (Arcade)
Virtual Pro Wrestling 2 (N64)
Big Bang Pro Wrestling (NGPC)
WWE: Here Comes the Pain (PS2)
WWE: Day of Reckoning series (Gamecube)
Fire Pro Wrestling 2 (GBA) - Japanese version only, as that version had an exclusive manager mode
Fire Pro Wrestling Returns (PS2)
Def Jam series (PS2)
Wrestle Kingdom series (PS2)
WWE All-Stars (Multiplatform & 3DS) - 3DS version has the DLC characters as in-game unlockables
Wrestling Revolution on the Ouya? XD
NJPW: Shin Nippon Pro wrestling - PS1
+PinMike8666
ECW Anarchy Rulz
+PinMike8666 yea i feel like they covered too many japanese exclusive wrestling games and not enough of the true classics of each console generation.
+PinMike8666
I would add Legends of Wrestling 2 to that list, the first one was awful but the controls were improved in the sequel and the roster is still one of the best ever, I mean you get to play as everyone from Hulk Hogan to One Man Gang so what is not to love?
I love the 30 second "I'm sorry I insulted the almighty No Mercy, please don't set me on fire" plea at the end
How 'bout I do, anyway~?
i only played one wrestling game (dont hurt me people) and its Rumble Roses...........that was some fiiiiiiinnneeee game
+GamerMikko Not to mention glorious, bouncy boob physics. Thank you, DOA XBV.
+GBlastMan People mock that game for wrong reasons, it's actually pretty as a proper wrestling game.
+GamerMikko The cheesyness is part of why it's good lol
"I see you in ICU"
I love that shit lol
+GBlastMan I've never played it but see that game has a lot of plot.
I'm not a fan of wrestling games but remember seeing that game and wanting to play it for "reasons"
Game Ray is now on Blu-Sack!
15:44 good ol' days of 90's AJPW! Baba, Hansen, Kobashi, Misawa, Kawada, Akiyama, Vader, Dr. Death... one of the best roster ever.
oh man it's like trying to review soccer games. so many of them and if you're not into the sport in the first place it's a lost cause.
I never cared for wrestling though, too much oil, spandex and drama :)
dat punch line in the closing skit. I laughed harder than I have in a while. good job guys
Suggestions for part 2:
Virtual Pro Wrestling 1 and 2 -N64 (japanese import)
I will let you borrow mine if you want.
Wrestlefest (Arcade)
Fire ProWrestling D (dreamcast)
WCW vs the World (PS1)
Smackdown 2 (PS1)
WWF Raw (SNES/Genesis)
As always, great job guys. I can't wait for the sequel episode, as there are quite a few still to cover. the FirePro series has been my favorite for its flexibility and customizable wrestlers, matches, rings etc. They are certainly niche titles and it almost takes a wrestling fan to fully appreciate the depth.
For non fans, the GS crew did a solid job.
Keep it up!
love game sack!
My favourite classic gaming channel with my favourite pre-determined sport!
Awesome!
Worst Wrestling Games Review Ever.
Ahhh, wrestling games. The memories. Just like me and my uncle used to play. Guys dressed up in spandex, sweating as they throw each other around and get all close... but we never had a console..
Smack Down 2 on PS1 is the best wrestling game ever.
i almost spit water everywhere when i saw hogans head on neon green la parka 😂😂😂
By the way, I liked your recap of Slam Masters for Genesis so much I just snagged a copy CIB off ebay. One more off the list and on the shelf XD
+the7thlevl I owned Thunder.
It was interesting to see a non-wrestling-fan encountering concepts like a ladder match, an ironman match, run-ins, etc. for the first time (and not particularly understanding them)
No crash tag team racing? Episode FAIL
+Sean Metivier : Well, well well! Looks like we have a neigh-sayer in the audience!
That's not a wrestling game
I suggested this topic!!! Thanks game sack. You really do make my Sunday's. Big love from England!
How could you skip WWF Raw or Royal Rumble?
+KWKBOX - Or WWE Smackdown: Here Comes the Pain? My favorite.
***** I was out of the loop by then but that one sounds good.
They covered RAW in the 32x episode briefly.
SeGa32xXx1 How about Royal Rumble or Wrestlemania Arcade?
+KWKBOX They covered Wrestlemania- The Arcade Game in the Sega 32x episode as well, but I believe have yet to cover Royal Rumble. Either on the Dreamcast, Genesis, or SNES.
been waiting for what seems like ever for a wrestling video to be made. thanks guys.
now for the sequel ...
Joe, is Hacksaw Jim Duggan your father? If so, is he upset that you're not into wrestling?
Thanks for covering Pro Wrestling for NES! I spent a lot of time with that game as a child. It was always satisfying to see the "A winner is you!" screen after a victory. Apparently they changed this to "winner is you" in a revision which sucks because a winner is you is way funnier!
PS I bought your Blu-Ray.... Can't wait for the 1992 goodness!
Dave heel turn when?
You played all my favorite wrestling games here. Thanks guys! As always, my favorite part was the post credits gag. Laughed pretty hard! Great episode!!
Cameo by Chris Benoit, the wrestler who murdered his wife and son then killed himself. ;p
Wrestling Chyna none the less.... yeah, I got the chills seeing that a little. Not gonna lie.
You know you have some kind of dedication to a channel when you watch an episode on wrestling games!
no ctr wtf episode fail
It's not the N64, it actually sounded like that on TV.
im sad they didnt like the music i loved them some of the best songs of my childhood
No mercy will always be one of if not my favorite. Good episode guys
Fun fact:
Barbed wire is actually used in some japanese wrestling, even dynamite.
King of the Death Match comes to mind, where Mick Foley fought Terry Funk in the finale. He was coated in blood by the end of it.
And people say Wrestling is fake. It may not be two guys hating each other but they still spill their guts to make the fight an emotional and interesting one.
That last line...amazing, just amazing.
Or maybe take 10 minutes to learn the controls, I don’t know.
i love to hear someone who doesn't watch or like wrestling review the game for it!!
Oh man those outtakes were perfect!
Figuring out how to tag your partner and return into the ring always manages to be the most difficult part of any wrestling game
Saturday night Slammasters is the best wrestling game ever made! Thanks for covering it Dave!
The snap into a slim jim thing at the end was super funny.
I think I got my first NES
when I was 4.
@ the trolls
Game Sack does this for us, the fans.
Some of these wrestling games I didn't even know about - I'll have to try and check them out sometime. Nice video guys 👍
A winner is YOU, Gamesack!
I Always enjoy your videos, thank you for your time in making these, they are highly entertaining. All I can say is health, prosperity and many great things to come in this new year for you guys. Cheers! Luis !
Did not see this video coming. Thanks guys. This awesome!
Thank you for covering one of my favorite genres!
finally I've been waiting for this episode since I first found you guys like 3 years ago
It's nice to see you go outside your comfort zone. The N64 games were the best multiplayer fun I've ever had... :)
I've been hoping for a wrestling episode! Thank you!! :D
Congrabulations for the blu-ray release. Stacking those knots lol
Really cool episode. Brought back some memories on those N64 games. Want to try that Slam Masters one looks cool!
WCW/NWO games for N64. Played the hell out of those games back in the day. With as many cousins as I have, 40-man Battle Royal kept us occupied when the fam got together.
GIANT GRAM 2000 HHHYYYYPPPEEEEE!!!! (Thank you Game Sack if you can't tell ;D)
Wrestlemania 2000 on the N64 is my favourite. I haven't played it since probably 2002 but i remember loving it.
WWF Attitude on the PS1 was great too.
WWF Smackdown on PS1 was the wrestling game i played the most as a kid. We went wild with wrestler creation.
this is a surprise for me. many people are talkin' 'bout this kind of game and I just dunno what the heck am I goin' to say.
Hands down my all time favourite wrestling game, and just one of my all time favourite games period.
for the record, in the ladder match, you're supposed to climb up the ladder and grab a belt hanging above the ring
Can't wait to see you guys reading the comments in the next Wrestling episode, looks like you are going to have some fun material to work with.
considering none of you guys really like wrestling or wrestling games, you did a great job.
seeing hogan and jericho in those different costumes was hillarious lol
Since you're obviously inexperienced at these types of games, maybe you should get someone who has played them explain the mechanics to you like you're 5. In order to do the finishing maneuvers, you have to be in a certain position to initiate them when you hit the joystick.
+blankshell And you don't even know what an Ironman match is? Did you do ANY research before you reviewed these games?
+blankshell Thanks for being condescending!
+Game Sack No problem! Thanks for being uneducated about a few games from a genre that was a "popular request" from your fans!
+blankshell You realize this is a weekly show, don't you? Do you expect them to be experts on every single game they cover, every single week? That's just stupid. I suggest you stop watching their videos and commenting on them if it upsets you that much. Nobody will miss you.
+blankshell Stop being such an entitled troll.
Best thing you guys ever did!
LMAO! Hollywood La Parka Hogan is hilariously amazing!
Who else remembers Bam Bam Bigelow??
You guys are amazing! :)
hell yeah was hoping for a new video, your guys timing rocks keep em coming.
Jay and Billy are masters of the move at 16:16 from Saturn All Japan game.
