This is one of those shows that I feel would work perfect in a videogame museum. Forever teaching the next generation all sorts and kinds of videogames from all generations!
G. K. Sure castle of shikigami 3 was my favorite. Improved translation and time gal with the ton of replay value from the character selection and play as 2 at once for expanded dialogue
Ruiner was a great short game to come out last year. Thanks for another great episode and def thanks for using my idea for the title card of the last episode.
Attack of the Friday Monsters on the 3DS. It’s like a Ghibli story set in a small Tokyo suburb where you play as the new kid in town. Every Friday night there are giant Kaiju battles that take place and it’s down to you and your friends to figure what’s behind it.
Hey thanks for making these videos guys, I don't often thank my UA-cam creators I watch in such a direct way, but you guys have become such big parts of my life, your videos are some of my favorite videos out of all the channels I watch, and I watch them over again sometimes just because they are especially enjoyable! keep it up!
Resogun and Nex Machina are great shooters (shmups...) on PS4, and are pretty short. Resogun has 5 levels and Nex Machina has 6, very fun games though.
I like the Katamari games for the pick up and play aspect. The ability to zone out and make huge katamaris is really relaxing. BTW, watching your videos is really helping me cheer up after my boyfriend dumped me yesterday.
Long time fan here. Just want to say that I really appreciate you guys and I notice all the little things like intro changes and other effects used. My favorite eps are the console episodes. I'd like to see you guys try some more micro computers... I'd also like to see your takes on all stuff 80s-90s-00s...Commercials, toys, gadgets, movies, TV shows, breakfast cereals etc... Anyway, love the show, and thanks for years and years of entertainment, I feel like I know you guys!
I have to agree - I was a BORN in the age of the Micro-computer....And being a Brit - They were REALLY BIG over here!!! I know they never took off as much in the US... But I am sure you guys will find MAN GAMES that you end up enjoying... Despite how old and - Yeah, I have to be honest... SAMEY they can be!
Never get sick of Game sack vids. Also super appreciative that y'all don't do the "please comment, subscribe and like this video," that all other 'tubers do.
Well, to be pretty specific and easy to understand without having to dig all the stuff. You play as the guy you have to beat on the metal gear on the MSX.
Thank you. It makes kind of sense that Big Boss has the same voice as snake in MGS3 as he's younger. However even in that game they should have replaced him with sutherland or someone else early on to stop the confusion. Spoiler for MGS4** Imagine how stupid the scene in Metal Gear Solid 4 where Snake meets Big Boss at the end would have been if it was David Hayter talking to David Hayter ? So, no i don't mind that they changed out David Hayter for MGS5 at all, and i'm a die hard MGS fan for life.
I know GZ is a better game than TPP. TPP is just an empty world with just a couple of interesting missions, the one in the hospital is the best one. And it's unfinished no chapter 3.
Saying he wanted Snake to sound like he was in his 40's was a lie. Because David Hayter was in his 40's when it was made. And David already voiced Snake as an old man, so...
now we need a "games so short they hurt the fun" episode to be the antithesis of this one, great going keeping up with episode ideas, i didnt see this one coming at all.
...move dildos. That's the official name now. I'm a HUGE fan of PSVR but, you're right, almost are are pretty short. I loved going through Psychonauts: Rhombus of Ruin the first time.
I was thinking the same thing. My brother and I loaned our Snatcher game and Sega CD front load to a friend back in the mid 90's and never got it back. I get pissed every time I see Snatcher pop up on a list.
I saw GREENDAWG!!! coming from a mile away, although I could also see Joe picking up Snatcher only to have Dave standing right behind him to take it. I bought Tron Bonne for $30 new and traded it in after I beat it. Who'd think a Mega Man game would be super rare and valuable?
I was expecting Snatcher at first. Then I was expecting a little piece of paper with something like 'Thanks for lending me Snatcher again' or 'IOU one Snatcher' written on it.
A fun fact about Rez that they didn't mention (though you can probably tell from the video itself); the music is not only cool, it's actually _tied to your actions_ . Every time you lock on to something, shoot, destroy an enemy, anything, it'll play a piece of the music on rhythm with the backing beat.
Pretty much any rhythm games can be about as short as you need it to be, I mean, your progress is generally tied to the songs you play, and to how well you do at each song...
I definitely would love for this to become a recurring series. I'm definitely one of those ones who don't have a lot of time to devote to games like i used to and just need quick fixes here and there. This episode was definitely informative and awesome
YES! I’m a HUGE VR Mark and I love hearing from people who have been converted. VR is amazing and the most interesting thing in the industry, which has been stagnant for over a decade.
Thanks guys for another great episode. I really liked this episode. Hope that you can continue on this as a mini series of sorts. I’m a dad with 2 kids and time is not on my side. Thanks again you guys rock.
Night in the Woods. I was skeptical at first, a game about cute widdle cartoon animals couldn't be that good. I was wrong in every way. Hilarious and sometimes starkly honest dialogue (probably the best I've ever seen, actually), a FANTASTIC soundtrack, and I mean fantastic. Not much in the way of gameplay, it's mostly just exploration and dialogue, but it has a trippy twist at the end and really endearing characters. Really pretty to look at, too, like a storybook. You can either run through it fast or do all the optional stuff, too. Highly recommended.
Joe, you look like you've been taking good care of yourself. Good job dude. A short game l have to recommend is, "Downwell". It's difficult and addictive, so you'll get a lot of time out of it, but it's pretty short once you get good at it. I don't know, it would also be a great choice if you guys ever decide to make an episode focusing on rogue-lite games. Anyways, long time fan, great episode, totally made my day, thank you!
Beat em ups, fighters and light gun games are what I’ll play if I’ve only got a spare hour or two. You can get through most easily in that time, there’s loads to choose from and I’ve always loved these genres.
I'd say the very first Kirby Dream Land game, Resogun, Super Mario Land 1, and Pilotwings Resort, which doesn't have a lot of content but has a great feel and soundtrack!
Game Dave sold me on this channel. Game Joe has grown on me and every time he adlibs it tends to be a bit a groaner. I'm glad there are video game shows that do more in depth showcases. Thanks guys!
Another great episode, Joe and Dave. I felt like this one was made just for me. With a job and kids, it’s so tough to put hours into games like I used to. Nowadays, a 5-7 hour game is perfect for me. I recommend Gorogoa as another great, short game. Unique art style, mind bending gameplay, and can be finished in 1-2 hours.
I dunno, ads seem like a small inconvenience to endure for a free service. God forbid these guys actually make any money for putting these videos together for their viewers. It's probably pennies an hour for their time and effort anyway. Whys everyone seem so butt hurt.
I'm pretty sure I spent 20 plus hours on MGS GZ when it came out doing everything. The sad part is I enjoyed Ground Zeroes more than The Phantom Pain .
Mark of the Ninja is an excellent stealth/action platformer with its own visual art style that's very cool. It's somewhat short and definitely doesn't need to be longer.
Rez Infinite is about the only game I want to try on VR. I love Rez a lot and it seems like the perfect vibe to just experience that way, since that's a feeling I'd use to describe Rez in general, it's an experience.
I have the game, but not VR. My friend has it and maybe he will someday give me the VR equipment so I can play RE7 that way, I liked the first 2 hours, but didn't really feel like playing again because of other games I have.
So many good games worth checking out! Man I must thank you guys for this video. I just played through Abzu with my boys and we had such a magical experience together taking turns playing. So thank you guys for the tips =D
What are some short games you enjoy? And how short is "short" to you? An hour? 4 hours? 40 hours?
Strider 2 on the PS1
Crazy Taxi on the Dreamcast
Aladdin for SNES is one of my favorite pick up and play games. You can get through it in under 45 minutes but it's so much fun.
Journey on the PS3
Game Sack If we are talking recent then Titan fall 2 which took me just under 3 hours
Best ending skit to date. Joe and his Greendog. A love story.
Every episode with a Greendog joke in it is a good episode on my book!
As soon as I read the title of this video I was thinking Firewatch... very rewarding and not long
Ruiner was a great short game to come out last year. Thanks for another great episode and def thanks for using my idea for the title card of the last episode.
Greeeeeeendog... Loose = extremely rare!
No he keeps the box and manual in a separate vault. All the saliva would wreck the box.
Attack of the Friday Monsters on the 3DS. It’s like a Ghibli story set in a small Tokyo suburb where you play as the new kid in town. Every Friday night there are giant Kaiju battles that take place and it’s down to you and your friends to figure what’s behind it.
The dry sense of humor in all game sax episodes is what puts them way above all other game related channels.
Some of my favorites are short games. Like Kirby games for example. Proof that simple charm can make a game worth it.
Sunday + Game Sack + Breakfast = Heaven! Thank you guys, much love from germany! :)
I've recently started watching your oldest to newest playlist. I just can't get enough sack. Good times.
I need friends.
GRIS is the most beautiful game under four hours that I’ve ever played.
Hey thanks for making these videos guys, I don't often thank my UA-cam creators I watch in such a direct way, but you guys have become such big parts of my life, your videos are some of my favorite videos out of all the channels I watch, and I watch them over again sometimes just because they are especially enjoyable! keep it up!
Thanks for all the awesome videos!
Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice is short(5 hours) but an incredible experience!
Amen! That game is excellent. The perfect "AA Game" imo.
@matt Nah bro.
Abzu, seems like the nice, and chill start to Subnautica in third person.
Abzu was an awesome experience. It is an even better experience when you use headphones for it.
I knew it was gonna be Greendog at the end. The holy grail of gaming.
Game Sack always reminds me its Sunday
This is probably the cutest thumbnail for a Game Sack video.
PollyGlodd i direct you to "Games That Aren't As Bad As You Might Think"
Vivi Vivi That's cute too, but I'm more of a dog person, so the thumbnail of this video is cuter to me.
PollyGlodd fair enough!
Long time fan here. Just want to say that I really appreciate you guys and I notice all the little things like intro changes and other effects used. My favorite eps are the console episodes. Thanks! That means a lot!
Game Sack long time sub and I hate how your are both ps4 fanboys. You are ruining a great thing.
Magnum force Mopar ...
Rez in VR is a revelation
Never get sick of Game sack vids. Also super appreciative that y'all don't do the "please comment, subscribe and like this video," that all other 'tubers do.
Thnx for another great Episode - Really enjoy you making the allmost the whole Episode about modern Games - thata a nice change once in a while
Abzu, I developed more feelings for that shark than I expected. That 2001/controller T-shirt is radicaly wicked to the X-treem
You play as Big Boss in Ground Zeroes and MGS V i.e. the soldier in which Solid Snake is cloned from. So, no, you are not playing as Solid Snake.
MekanikKommandoh88 that's not completely correct either in V
Well, to be pretty specific and easy to understand without having to dig all the stuff.
You play as the guy you have to beat on the metal gear on the MSX.
OR you could just say "It's not the same Snake, hence the different voice actor" without spoiling the crap out of it.
Thank you. It makes kind of sense that Big Boss has the same voice as snake in MGS3 as he's younger. However even in that game they should have replaced him with sutherland or someone else early on to stop the confusion.
Spoiler for MGS4**
Imagine how stupid the scene in Metal Gear Solid 4 where Snake meets Big Boss at the end would have been if it was David Hayter talking to David Hayter ?
So, no i don't mind that they changed out David Hayter for MGS5 at all, and i'm a die hard MGS fan for life.

Games about the sea sound like a great idea for a future episode! The Legendary Starfy and Endless ocean are good examples.
Joe locks up Greendog almost as well as I lock up my copy of Friday the 13th for the NES.
now we need a "games so short they hurt the fun" episode to be the antithesis of this one, great going keeping up with episode ideas, i didnt see this one coming at all.
...move dildos. That's the official name now. I'm a HUGE fan of PSVR but, you're right, almost are are pretty short. I loved going through Psychonauts: Rhombus of Ruin the first time.
Joe can reload like nobody's business.
Beyond PSVR, move controllers are and were (since they were released) useless dildos.
hey, Sports Champions 1/2 and The Fight were amazingly fun, actually. :)
Psychonauts was the first game i purchased after i got psvr. I can't wait for the upcoming sequel!! Raz is rad!
John Riggs: RIGG'd Games I know I'm calling them dildos now.
Holy shit your thumbnail is amazing
Abzu is great. It's like Journey.
You only get small pieces of the narrative, and the rest is left to your imagination. Very atmospheric and cool.
I was honestly expecting Snatcher to be in the safe at the end.
I was thinking the same thing. My brother and I loaned our Snatcher game and Sega CD front load to a friend back in the mid 90's and never got it back. I get pissed every time I see Snatcher pop up on a list.
I had the same thing happen with Herzog Zwei (shakes fist)
I saw GREENDAWG!!! coming from a mile away, although I could also see Joe picking up Snatcher only to have Dave standing right behind him to take it.
I bought Tron Bonne for $30 new and traded it in after I beat it. Who'd think a Mega Man game would be super rare and valuable?
I was expecting Snatcher at first. Then I was expecting a little piece of paper with something like 'Thanks for lending me Snatcher again' or 'IOU one Snatcher' written on it.
I suffered through a league of legends commercial for you guys, that's true love.
In the ending skit, I saw Green Dawg coming and yet I still laughed~
When it comes to Sunday mornings nothing is better than watching Game Sack. :))
See Playdead's INSIDE and Titanfall 2's single player campaign.
Unravel is a game I would recommend. It's short, but sweet.
One of my favorite short games is Journey 1.5 - 3.0 hours depending on the path you take.
Jerry Segers, Jr. Journey was and is a revelation
I love you, Joe and Dave. Always have.
Joe playing VR was perfect chance for Dave to steal Snatcher again
A fun fact about Rez that they didn't mention (though you can probably tell from the video itself); the music is not only cool, it's actually _tied to your actions_ . Every time you lock on to something, shoot, destroy an enemy, anything, it'll play a piece of the music on rhythm with the backing beat.
Pretty much any rhythm games can be about as short as you need it to be, I mean, your progress is generally tied to the songs you play, and to how well you do at each song...
Love those skits.
I definitely would love for this to become a recurring series. I'm definitely one of those ones who don't have a lot of time to devote to games like i used to and just need quick fixes here and there. This episode was definitely informative and awesome
The best ending ever. These videos kick my creativity in gear.
YES! I’m a HUGE VR Mark and I love hearing from people who have been converted. VR is amazing and the most interesting thing in the industry, which has been stagnant for over a decade.
Abzu gets better with the quality of your screen. One of the most gorgeously colored games ever
That end scene gave me goosebumps, really nice lighting effects there. And Greeeendaawg is gem xD
Great show guys!
Thanks guys for another great episode. I really liked this episode. Hope that you can continue on this as a mini series of sorts. I’m a dad with 2 kids and time is not on my side. Thanks again you guys rock.
Nothing like nailing some last-minute work while watching you guys.
As always,keep being cool.
Big Boss is Solid Snake's (and Liquid's) dad.
You can either run through it fast or do all the optional stuff, too. Highly recommended.
With that ending skit you do realize people may start sending you cases and manuals so you can complete your most prized possession :)
Ok Sega, can we make Joe GreenDog VR???
Super Mario Land on the Gameboy. 20 minutes of pure gaming pleasure.
"But no matter who this bastard is, I'm just not feeling it Kiefer.
Go do your Kiefing in some other game"
That killed me!!
Game Sack episodes that don't take a lot of your time!
:)
let's laugh at joe for calling big boss a solid snake. haha!
Well imagine Panzer Dragoon in VR... sadly, Sega now does not do what people want.
Did they ever really though? Yeah, they've made some amazing games, but Sega and intelligent decision making go together like oil and water.
You guys just made my day by featuring Welsh Corgis in the avatar image for your video, especially since they're such a cute-looking breed of dog! ;D
Short but Fun - like most Game Sack episodes.
I have only seen the title screen and I already love it! Welsh Corgis! Ein, the data dawg!
Beat em ups, fighters and light gun games are what I’ll play if I’ve only got a spare hour or two. You can get through most easily in that time, there’s loads to choose from and I’ve always loved these genres.
What an idea! I’m gonna sit and meditate on how delicious those fish look
The kind of games I ❤️. Good for 34 years old like myself oldman
Whoever's house that is, I like it. That stairwell cubby is awesome.
I'd say the very first Kirby Dream Land game, Resogun, Super Mario Land 1, and Pilotwings Resort, which doesn't have a lot of content but has a great feel and soundtrack!
"birds will chirp in the trees but you cant see them anywhere" Dave says as the video clearly shows a whole flock of birds in the background.
Firewatch was amazing, my GOTY for 2016, would highly recommend.
That ending skit was GREAT!
Best ending skit so far. I lol’d.
I dunno, ads seem like a small inconvenience to endure for a free service. God forbid these guys actually make any money for putting these videos together for their viewers. It's probably pennies an hour for their time and effort anyway. Whys everyone seem so butt hurt.
I dont really see anyone besides yourself commenting on the ads
I'm pretty sure I spent 20 plus hours on MGS GZ when it came out doing everything. The sad part is I enjoyed Ground Zeroes more than The Phantom Pain .
This is a fantastic idea for an episode.
Mark of the Ninja is an excellent stealth/action platformer with its own visual art style that's very cool. It's somewhat short and definitely doesn't need to be longer.
Damn Joe you're lookin' slim these days! Good for you! You're slacking, Dave!
I'd love to see more modern games thrown into the mix with your videos. All good games deserve some love
Viddi O games Definitely not.
Obviously you're an idiot so please refrain from talking to me again
thanks sweetie, I'll enjoy all video games I can
"pap pap pap mofo" Joe is so cool when he's tryna be cool 😎
I need this video So MUCH! Thanks for the Excellent topic.
Thank for the episode, Game Sack make my day a game day :)
You guys seem to still have a lot of fun making videos. Joe's most treasured game had to be Green Daaawwwg, lol.
You guys had me at the title card.
Great coverage of Rez Infinite on PSVR, thank you! Still one of our favorite VR games too! :D
Rez Infinite is about the only game I want to try on VR. I love Rez a lot and it seems like the perfect vibe to just experience that way, since that's a feeling I'd use to describe Rez in general, it's an experience.
Aboveup Wipeout Omega Collection on VR is amazing too, one of the few VR games I recommend. Most are just boring and not worth your time tbh
Wait until you try Resident Evil 7. It’s infinitely better than playing it on a flat screen and probably my favorite game on PSVR. :D
I have the game, but not VR. My friend has it and maybe he will someday give me the VR equipment so I can play RE7 that way, I liked the first 2 hours, but didn't really feel like playing again because of other games I have.
Alexander Becker I also want to try Rez in VR. I’m sure that’s amazing.
RE7 in VR is bad ass
Great video as always guys. Also, Corgis in the thumbnail!!! I love Corgis!!!!
That ending skit had me laughing hard lol
So many good games worth checking out! Man I must thank you guys for this video. I just played through Abzu with my boys and we had such a magical experience together taking turns playing. So thank you guys for the tips =D
Great episode! I look at similar games in my Short Game Spotlight series! Great way to game on a time budget
Nice! Keep on sacking guys, keep on sacking
Kamiko and Xeodrifter: two fun retro-inspired indies that can be finished in around 5 hours or less
Wow.. Abzu looks beautiful ...thanks for the tip! reminds me of an Endless Ocean type game that came out for the Wii
pendragnx It's very minimalist in terms of gameplay but it's beautiful and relaxing to just exist in, especially if you like fish ;)
It's a lot like Journey. Not much narrative, but it lets your imagination run wild and very relaxing.
Also, there are hidden collectibles to find.
It better be Greendog down there, you fuck!
OK, I am satisfied.
