i have galaxy s9 with one ui 2.5 android 10 and i can get to the smart view developer options but there is no "secondscreen" option for me
I dislike that these features are hidden deep inside the settings

It's because these are dev options and still in beta. I'd rather have the options hidden than not implemented yet like with Apple for example
@@MixingSneaX I guess I agree, thanks for the answer. However, I do believe that Apple has had continuity features and seamless integration for many years now, so it is Samsung that is playing catch up for these particular features
@@PrabhablyAGoodUA-camr nah, samsung & windows can do everything iphone & macbook can do. Copy & paste text with link to windows, file sharing with nearbyshare, browser continuity, etc

This feature has been discontinued with the latest update on phones. I used to use this on my S21U but now am unable to... really sad that it's not available anymore.

@@tylerperron9590 They removed the function to open the dev menu from the Smartview GUI, but it's possible to open it directly via a shortcut because the dev screen (and many other Smartview functions) are Android _activities_ - something like apps within an app, which can be called/started externally without going into the parent app (that's an automation feature to allow external apps to e.g. open a certain settings page without having to go into the settings app and navigating there). In this case, you don't need to call the dev menu because all you want is the "second screen" function, which is a Smarview activity itself. You can create shortcuts to activities with apps like "Activity Launcher" or "Shortcut Maker" but some activities are "private" (can only be called from the parent app), including the dev screen and the "second screen" main screen. However, the "second screen player" is a public activity - you can create a shortcut to it, then it will launch a black second screen window (because nothing is "playing"), then just use the back button and you end up in the second screen main menu where the phone will show up as an available wireless screen for other devices.
This was honestly one of the best short I've seen in a while. I always wanted a second display for my PC instead of using a second TV, and didn't wanna use a bunch of apps that require $$$!

Yeah, I used it, it's extremely laggy. It's in early stage of development.
Superdisplay is a better options, it's without lag.
@@TC-iv7dn it was smooth for me. It depends on your wifi connection. Get a better modem than what your ISP gives you. It's not that hard to solve your own problems, so do it.

There is no lag with super display.
I also have very good WiFi and internet. What's your problem?

I walked through these steps with a tablet on display at the store today. While it worked, I was annoyed by having to do this process each time. I just bought a new laptop and computer monitor for a second screen. I need the second screen to be portable though. I landed on a Tab A8. It requires this same process... EVERY... TIME...
I ended up paying 3 times the price for the simple feature on a Tab S8 allowing the button for "Second Screen"

tried with an s20 fe, it didn't work, my pc found the phone but didn't conect to it :(

How can I get second screen to work on VPN SSL protected work laptop? Before I sign in on the VPN network, I can connect and the second screen works fine. But when I connect to my work VPN, it kicks me out of second screen. All I want is a dual monitor to work efficiently darnit

guys, this is actually NOT a dev option or in a beta like some people think. this feature was available on galaxy tabs as a standart feature for a looong time, but it's disabled for phones, and this is how to get it if you really want to with phones.
