For anyone who can't get this to work on your fire kindle 10 or above make sure the USB plug can transfer files then on the tablet go to settings, type in USB preference and click it, once there make sure all options arent grayed out, that's how you know if the USB plug can transfer files or not then click on the transfer files option then plug the tablet into the PC, should get a notification to open the spacedesk app.
@@medogaming1533 Can't get it to charge while using USB as most usb ports aren't designed for high power devices, ended up using a normal plug and wifi instead of usb connecting. works fairly well through wifi anyway. Would prefer usb but can't get it to charge :/
Thank you for this! I was looking into purchasing laptop monitors on amazon, and then the price scared me. Googled if you could use a tablet as a second screen, and lo and behold, I find this video. Installed that app, tested it and it works via wifi as well!!! This is truly a gamechanger! Kind regards from Portugal 🙂
the cable is the most important part of this, once you get it work just go to the display settings and you are set. Thank you so much Sam, this was amazing it works even after a year, I'm using a Galaxy A9+ it was a harsh time i really needed a second monitor and this worked just fine. Thank you again
I have been trying to do this for a couple of hours now and all other videos and software have disappointed me! Then your video saved me!!! Thank youuuuu very much!!!
Amazing! Thanks for the help, straight to the point and very easy to follow the instructions, whish more people would do tutorials like this, thanks again.
Thank you so much. If you guys have a problem like 2nd monitor gives responses slowly, its probably cuz of slow data transfer of your usb cable. I am just having the same problem but still it works fine. For a smooth performans i am gonna buy a new usb cable which supports faster data transfer. If u buy too, just be careful, its not about ampere but also transfer speed.
Had to temporarily move out of my office leaving my multiple screen set-up behind. Am using the kitchen table with jusy my laptop, and so found this video. Luckily you had the exact same tablet as me, so I watched. Easy to follow steps, and had my dual screen set-up back in no time. It's obviously not the best, using a smaller tablet screen, however, I think it will be much more appreciated when I'm out on the road, and have to dive into an eatery with wifi to get some work done. 5🌟
God oh god THANK YOU. I've been looking for a tutorial on how to do it without wifi (because my laptop can't connect to wifi) and finally your video helped me It works so perfectly and with high quality too
Also, please note this. I have the Local Area Network ticked and it connected right away. i also have it plugged into my 3.0 USB port and have Bluetooth paired as well. Most current PCs and Laptops have Blue Tooth with up to 3.0 UBB or higher and it works fantastic.
Thank you Sam, I was able to achieve what I wanted, which was to use my galaxy tab 6 lite for photoshop. Apparently samsung removed the "second screen" feature for my model.
This has been really helpful in connecting my screen to my Samsung S8 Ultra tablet. Unfortunately usb configuration is not as automatic like what is shown above, you will need to access developer tools in on order to configure the USB settings from tethering to file transfer in order for this to work.
Worked really nicely both over WiFi and cable but my remote desktop connection window wouldn't stretch across both displays so looking for an alternative now.
thank you for the video. My question is I don't seem to get a full screen, the black bars on both ends of my pad screen doesn't show full screen? Suggestions?
Thanks a ton! I'm just getting started streaming retro games, and I have a wire rack with all my old consoles set up. Last night was a pain, having to crane my neck to the side to see my twitch chat on my pc monitor. Now I can have my tablet right in front of me and see my chatters way easier
Triod to do this with USB but before connecting the cable I could already see my PC's ip and connect. Thanks thought. PC is connected via cable and tablet is wifi. Working great
Thank you for this amazing tutorial Sam, you're a lifesaver. 😄Only if you know how helpful this is for some of us. Your out-of-the-box thinking and unique perspective turned an otherwise mediocre presentation into a fantastic one Mcraespy. You did a good job of catching the mistakes and keeping us from wasting time and by taking the wrong path. Your attention to detail really sets you apart from the crowd. Great work! Sir Greg, Your great work has resulted in tangible, beneficial results to me. You’re a force to be reckoned.
Thanks for the video. Would it be possible to transfer a file onto the tablet and use its stylus to make some changes to the file and then save it back to the computer? Say, signing a PDF file?
Hey, are you aware of any sort of monitor arm type thing but for mobile devices/smaller displays? I'd really like to bring the display higher up and closer to my face but don't have a way too currently
Hey, yeah there are heaps to pick from on Amazon. I haven't personally used one but just search Tablet Desk Arm on Amazon. Here is one that had good reviews amzn.to/3tBMsCG
I don't mind using 'Genymobile / scrcpy' to control android... so the loss of DeX (or Link to Windows, Samsung Flow, SpaceDesk) isn't a deal breaker for me. However, I want to use the Samsung Tablet S9 FE or higher to extend my PC and use the tablet as a 2nd screen. Is that possible without installing any PC software? I thought of getting a Tablet with HDMI input, like the 2021 Android 12 'Lenovo Yoga Pad Pro' ('Lenovo Yoga Tab 13 YT-K606'?), but its discontinued in the U.S (originally as low as $350 at Best Buys when new). The Samsung S9 FE/S10 tablets have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 or better.. and the Lenovo uses s Snapdragon 870.. yet even used, the Yoga Tab 13 costs more than the S9 FE!
this was very helpful so thanks a lot, however when checking the resolution settings the phone screen doesn't appear as an individual monitor, and when switching to second monitor only the resolution is set to 1024x768 with no option to change, would be cool to find a solution for this! and thanks again
Hey there, do you think Its possible to use a hdmi to usb-c cable and plug it into the pc's hdmi port? Its mainly so I can use my samsung tablet for drawing but still have a high refresh rate. Unless there's a setting for that in the program. I tried this app but it doesn't suppport tilt sensitivity with the pen for some reason. I need that for drawing.
I can't get it to show, could Android Device Bridge be causing conflicts or something? I've been trying the guide and this video for a while now to no luck (it does show over WiFi, but I need less latency).
This is a great video. I do have one question. My desktop has no webcam, I usually use the tab to most zoom meetings. Will I be able to do use the tab for zoom? Can I also share screen from the desktop?
Hi, great video, I think I'm gonna use this as well :) But I have one concern: Is the tablet using it's own graphic card to display the image or is it using PC's GPU? Cause if I'm not mistaken (and if I am then correct me please 😅) running 2 different resolutions on 2 different monitors is additional load for GPU, which I'd rather like to avoid.

Is the tablet charging while working as monitor ?

This works extremely well even though it can only output 60fps max on my tablet that has a display panel with 120hz refresh rate.
does it work with other tablets? as long as it can download space desk?
Yep, it should work on any android as long as you can install the app from the play store on it.
This is a result of the speed of the cable
