4:41 This is such a neat idea, especially since there are ALREADY phones with ejecting(?) cameras. 6:36 This is awesome to see that other brands are starting to make Foldable Smartphones. Funny enough I JUST received my first Foldable (smart) phone yesterday, the Z Fold4. I do like the approach that Apple is going with their favorite being the Flip.
I was thinking about what I would want in a phone many years from now, perhaps a phone that attaches to a wristband and looks like a smartwatch, but you can pop it off and it then unfolds into a very thin full size phone. That would be very practical.
I think the drone idea is actually really cool idea. You can use it for full body photos when you have no one or you can use it as a portable phone stand to film and it's great for traveling for when u want to have a shot of the mountains. it's small and compact and I'd say it's something that would be put to use more often than we think. I'd be really cool if it followed you, and you can finally film a vlog with you in it. because I find it frustrating that I can't film with myself in the vlogs.
Why not just make a small drone that charge through c to c so you plug it on ur phone, vivo just have to release the drone separately to access a way bigger market than just vivo phone users, everyone would cop a tiny vlog drone if it gets good android integration and costs less than 100
Think about how many times people would lose or break the drone. Also the vulnerability of the drone tray being able to easily break off or get super dirty
Mobile tripod you always have with you. For the most natural looking photos you really want to take it from at least 10 feet away (it's a focal length thing--same reason why your nose looks ridiculously huge with the lens right up in your face), which means either having a partner, or a tripod. Or in this case, a drone you can pop out and put into stationary hover for a minute or so.
By the time it comes out AI will be so good you don't need to know how to fly it and you would be able to talk to your phone like its an assistant so you just tell it to have the drone go out and take great pictures of you for the next 30 minutes and then it fly back inside to recharge.
the Tetris phone is a really good idea for gaming, say if you want to watch a video while playing a game you can use the fold out as a sort of picture in picture but with no interruptions on your main screen.
The Samsung transparent phone looks like something out of a movie. The foldable iPhone if it makes the market would surely sell out as it would be much more compact and comfortable to cary around and just as u said it wouldn't have many problems. The Samsung tetris would also workout if they would be able to fix any side touch problems. Thank u sir for sharing this entertaining information.I expect more beautiful videos and sir how about one on drones
I actually liked the drone camera phone best. You could sell that as a separate accessory you can replace from time to time. If you use it sensibly, you can take some great photos from up above, from down below, and some cool pan shots. If you use some decent AI so that it doesn't bump into stuff, and the blades are made of flexible material, it would be very cool. You need to get a permit to buy a drone in most countries. But because this mini drone can't fly higher than 25-30 high anyway, it might not need it
I actually think the drone camera is a pretty neat idea - and if it can shoot high quality video, has decent battery life, and proper collision detection, I could see it being a real winner. I also would like to see features that utilize lidar cameras being better implemented - like creating 3D models that can be inserted into video in real time. You could make your own movie with integrated CGI!
The "arc display" also has one massive flaw (beyond the general software issues mentioned in this video). How are you going to protect the a screen that wraps almost all of the way around the phone? There is practically no way to put a case on it so you can have any type of raised edge to protect the screen from impacts and (since flexible screens are soft) that means you are more likely to damage your screen even if all you do is put it in your pocket. It's going to be a LONG while before technology allows us to have an "arc display" that is durable enough for the everyday user. Yes, I know that these are only patents and not real designs at this time and they are basically the equivalent of throwing ideas at a wall to see what sticks and most patents don't ever see the light of day as real products, but when I see something like the arc display, my brain immediately goes to "that display won't last a week in the hands of the average person".
Everything is expensive when it first releases so I wouldn't be too worried about it. Traction control on cars used to be only for premium cars and after 3/4 years it was in every car
The wrinke of foldable smartphones seems like a predetermined breaking point to me due to constant use and wear and tear. Same with all other mechanical/physical movable components at smartphones. So I prefer the conventional one-block-smartphone without additional moving mumbo-jumbo.
also why the Tetris concept could absolutely work without the extended screen part being able to be spread out. Extra mechanics on a brilliant phone concept sounds like asking for trouble.
The drone idea isnt actually that bad. I think that could do well. If they made the drone from a durable light material, made it affordable, and made kt easy to repair... It would be worth it. Because drone shots/360 footage IS HIGHLY desirable to influencers.
Counter Argument for the transparent phone being a "gimmick" : Having a transparent phone is also a potential for a "wearable" phone that can be used for AR functionalities. An implementation that can be thought of is a phone that can be mounted on a face/mask wearable
well tell me when you ever in your life thought that you want to wear a phone. 99% of people will not want that. it is impractical and thats what makes it a gimmick.
"Wearing" phone on my face as a mask, like what? No, transparent phones are gimmick and don't bring anything to the table except complexity for no reason at all.
How about instead of selling it as a phone, it can be sold as an extra to a VR headset? It could be like an interactive wrist gadget that can be used in certain VR games and content?
MWTB - you're quite clearly an Apple fan, and whilst I am not personally a fan myself I can see why people do love them. I respect your reviews/content so very much because despite being offered I imagine BIG BIG BIG review money and I would bet even being offered "bribe" level money because you're such a respected reviewer, well it is amazing to see your honest opinions. Thank you from the community because we really needed someone like yourself !!
5:04 IMO it’s dumb to think that is a dumb idea… selfies with an arm extended to avoid distortion, losing a person in the photo or having to use a tripod is all sort of annoying things a flying camera will solve in the near future.
My next foldable is gonna be from Apple. Not that my ZFlip is doing bad, but I just wanna see how well Apple does the 'Apple Way" in it's foldable series.
Interesting video. Also you look great, fitness program is working:) Regarding the transparent phone, I also thought that it would just be a gimmick but it may have it‘s uses regarding mixed and augmented reality applications as the immersion would be way better, especially for mixed reality use cases
1:23 There are flexible batteries. They are safer than the lipo's(Lithium polymer) we use nowdays, but the capacity is lots lower. Therefore probably no new lcb (lithium ceramic batteries) phone, maby in 5 years

I work at a senior living community. The samsung fold is great for them, they can fit it in their pocket and unfold it to make the text large enough for them to read.
I'm still waiting on the two-color camera sensor that Samsung was allegedly working on bringing to market about five years ago, and a real internal optical zoom mechanism that functions along the entire zoom range instead of only offering two positions melded together through digital zoom. I'd also love to see Samsung or another company implement a Quantum dot OLED panel using near-ultraviolet blue diodes through color filters to further reduce burn-in on phone screens. Given that the majority of people replace their phones due to battery wear and associated slow-downs, I'd imagine that giving people even more license to leave their screens on indefinitely would be ideal for companies hoping to rack up battery cycles and force people to upgrade in a timely fashion. Oh, and let's not forget that Samsung, and the handful of other companies that are part of the consortium that created the UFS standard of mobile storage NAND flash, also created a removable version that has yet to see a production application despite being at its third generation and offering roughly twice the bandwidth of UHS-III MicroSD storage speeds. MicroSD-Express does offer greater theoretical performance compared to the UFS standards for removable media, but I've also yet to see any devices capable of using that either, particularly not in the mobile phone space. Give me at least one of those options and release some cards for it so I can safely hoard data on my device with impunity. Also, on a personal note, I'd like for companies to go back to having narrow bezels at the top and bottom of their phones if they can't figure out how to make under-screen cameras a thing. I appreciate having places to grip my phone from and places for cameras, speakers, and sensors to live. I've never really looked at my Note 9 and thought "I'd love for this device to be even more unwieldy to hold in landscape orientation. I'd also really like for more companies to invest more effort into their haptic feedback systems. LG proved that you could use multiple haptic motors to provide a convincing keyboard feedback system, so it'd be nice to have that on more modern devices. And, if we're bringing things back from dead devices, I'd also appreciate it if Apple and Google would finish stealing all of the UI elements from WebOS's mobile platform already.
The Oppo Slide: would be interesting to see how they plan for the user to use and reach the middle of the screen when fully unfolded. The Drone: seems like all phones would have the drone missing after use in a minimal breeze. A "problem" that had several better solutions, as mentioned in the video. iPhone foldable: I am not an iPhone user. But it would be interesting how Apple would do a foldable phone.
Nuclear phone... lasts 300 years on one charge. I hate anti-nuclear conspiracy theorists. If everyone wasn't so scared of nuclear tech we could have 0 emission cars that last centuries on one tank or nuclear phones that never need to be charged. :(
man I feel bad the people trying to make cases for these phones and transparency looks really cool but I can't imagine how much it would cost to replace the parts of it broke
Transparent screen has already been a thing for a while. You can even buy smaller transparent screens yourself if you like tinkering. (good for stacking into a volumetric display) The problem was always the battery. Currently there are no transparent batteries, only translucent ones and nobody wants an ugly tinted block in their "transparent" device, any more than a regular batter. btw that's probably why nobody was able to bring back the transparent style from the turn of the millennium. Batteries make them look uuuugly! I got a translucent black handheld console (RG350) a few years back because I like the concept, but it never looked good IRL and I never bought a translucent gadget since.
Well.. Xiaomi kinda had that wrap around screen on their Mi Mix Alpha a few years ago. 😅 I know it was still a prototype and all that but still. (Regarding that Huawei wrap around screen at 2:00)

a lot of these phone innovations are amazing...and I really hope most of them come to fruition. I do disagree with one opinion of yours, Innovation is not about solving existing problems. It's about changing the way we use our phones. It's about creating new ways we utilize our phones. That's how our phones now have evolved to have fuller screen, better camera and better battery life, to name a few. We are spending more and more time on our phones, so it make sense to incorporate even more features into it.

All of the sudden that person needs a license from the FAA
I invented the invisible phone, it’s simple. I don’t know how no one‘s thought of this yet, it’s such an easy solution, so much common sense. Just turn the back of your phone into a camera, make the background of the phone automatically show what the camera would see making the phone seem like it’s in visible from the front. Stupid companies not understanding common sense and understanding technology, imagine having a 15-year-old beat your High Tech solutions simply because he’s thinking inside the box I also feel like if you had an invisible phone you would lose it, if it was completely invisible and you forgot where you put it like it was see-through and it was powered down and the only way to tell if it was there or not would be the small outline of a phone that you’d have to pay very close attention to you to even notice. I definitely would not own invisible phone I feel like it would be way too easy to lose and if I get stolen when are you gonna notice that. This message joke please don’t take it seriously this was not meant to be offensive in anyway whatsoever, I am not attacking any companies, I just thought this was funny because it came to me within three seconds of me watching the part about the invisible phone.😅

@@immortalsunI have a z fold 5.
3:20 Well I'm still wating until they accept transparent money💸
Damn thats sad-
2:44 It also massively increases that potential damage from dropping your phone. Because this ARC Display means you can't use a case.
This was entertaining to watch,Arun hope the working out is going good and everything and thank you for this update on the smartphones.
it hasnt even been out long enough for you to watch all of it
9:16 :) Editor Himself : My Editor Bart is so Cool 😂
I was thinking about what I would want in a phone many years from now, perhaps a phone that attaches to a wristband and looks like a smartwatch, but you can pop it off and it then unfolds into a very thin full size phone. That would be very practical.
Imagine dropping one 🗿
@@glebyarmolenko1125 it comes with cases which acts as watch strap. How about it? 😝
Phone is attached to the wristband and charged from the wristband
I would absolutely buy a phone that could tell me what products would work best for my skin, provided that those products aren’t sponsored
Why not just make a small drone that charge through c to c so you plug it on ur phone, vivo just have to release the drone separately to access a way bigger market than just vivo phone users, everyone would cop a tiny vlog drone if it gets good android integration and costs less than 100
I would use it to spy on my enemies from above but that sounds useful too.
*i love how arun dissects each and every phone with every logical explanation he has to offer, even the unexplainable transparent phone!!*

How about they just make a phone with front and back glass that doesn’t break or scratch so we don’t need a case or screen protector.
the Tetris phone is a really good idea for gaming, say if you want to watch a video while playing a game you can use the fold out as a sort of picture in picture but with no interruptions on your main screen.

Transparent phones and TVs are not practical at all. Terrible usability.
But because this mini drone can't fly higher than 25-30 high anyway, it might not need it
Samsung have fixed the side touch issue since the edge panel was on all their phones from the s6 edge to the S10
Now with he Mate XT.. the folding phones really have come a long way.
Your phone would be a brick again 🥳

Him : transparency is a gimmick
me : AIR
The problem with futuristic phones like these would be how incredibly pricey they would be. I have no doubt we can have these tho.
ik
Everything is expensive when it first releases so I wouldn't be too worried about it. Traction control on cars used to be only for premium cars and after 3/4 years it was in every car
9:03 This is the smoothest sponsorship segway i've ever seen
Lol! Couldn't have been done any better than that.
Counter Argument for the transparent phone being a "gimmick" :
Having a transparent phone is also a potential for a "wearable" phone that can be used for AR functionalities. An implementation that can be thought of is a phone that can be mounted on a face/mask wearable
Or glasses. But a bit that's too futuristic. But at least we are closer.
Still a gimmick. Next.
well tell me when you ever in your life thought that you want to wear a phone.
4:43 - He didn't say it, so I will. A drone phone.

Another scam I found
My next foldable is gonna be from Apple. Not that my ZFlip is doing bad, but I just wanna see how well Apple does the 'Apple Way" in it's foldable series.
The amount of research you do is really commendable bro 👏🏻
The drone phone is much more of a gimmick than the clear phone 😂
Interesting video. Also you look great, fitness program is working:)
Regarding the transparent phone, I also thought that it would just be a gimmick but it may have it‘s uses regarding mixed and augmented reality applications as the immersion would be way better, especially for mixed reality use cases
1:23 There are flexible batteries. They are safer than the lipo's(Lithium polymer) we use nowdays, but the capacity is lots lower. Therefore probably no new lcb (lithium ceramic batteries) phone, maby in 5 years
Maybe multiple small batteries?
@@holzlaim2864 probably the better solution, but you could at max fit 500mah in one"cell". The number would probably be closer to 300 if not only 250 or even less
I work at a senior living community. The samsung fold is great for them, they can fit it in their pocket and unfold it to make the text large enough for them to read.
i woork at a fart store
7:40 so apple isn't creative lol

man I feel bad the people trying to make cases for these phones and transparency looks really cool but I can't imagine how much it would cost to replace the parts of it broke

We have nearly achieved the perfect bar phone, and foldable phones are the next step forward.
a lot of these phone innovations are amazing...and I really hope most of them come to fruition.
3:09 The big issue here is privacy. Making it so that the screen is only visible on the user side.
I cant wait for Apple to be the first company that makes a foldable phone

Drone phone is the most *unrealistic* one of all of them.
Why?
FAA 107, a United States Federal Law - one which is extensively enforced. Any person that ever takes any photograph or video with a drone, and then posts it to social media where "they could" make one fraction of ANY income. All of the sudden that person needs a license from the FAA
yeah but they did it :\

I invented the invisible phone, it’s simple. I don’t know how no one‘s thought of this yet, it’s such an easy solution, so much common sense. Just turn the back of your phone into a camera, make the background of the phone automatically show what the camera would see making the phone seem like it’s in visible from the front. Stupid companies not understanding common sense and understanding technology, imagine having a 15-year-old beat your High Tech solutions simply because he’s thinking inside the box
I also feel like if you had an invisible phone you would lose it, if it was completely invisible and you forgot where you put it like it was see-through and it was powered down and the only way to tell if it was there or not would be the small outline of a phone that you’d have to pay very close attention to you to even notice.
