In real life, they would have all been dead the minute the arrows started flying. Being outnumbered and surrounded by a bunch of archers that have the high ground, in a wide open space, is an insurmountable disadvantage.

    • @whatIfindinteresting

facts, trained archers would have picked them off so easily, bullet proof vests or not do not protect from head shots or neck shots. which trained archers with high ground could have easily picked off. Especially since they had been given ample time to line up their shots. It should have realistically been a wrap.

I like how Caine doesn’t want to fight Koji and his men even though he doesn’t have a choice. And we see this later in the kitchen fight scene as Caine goes out of his way to avoid killing koji’s men using mostly his fists and non lethal strikes to pacify them. Which is something he’s unable to do later when he’s ultimately forced to kill Koji knowing the table wouldn’t believe that he Koji just got away.

"Fools talk, cowards are silent but wise men listen"
In order to listen, one should be silent; the implications are:
    -------------------------------
1- Coward men are also wise, since they're listening while silent.
2- Wise men are also cowards, since they're also silent.
3- There's no way to distinguish between cowards and wise men, since both are silent.
4- Cowards and wise men are not fools.
    But...
5- what happen if a fool is mute since birth, or a wise man is coward AND deaf?

John won in the end. Whether or not he's actually dead doesn't matter. He made the High Table bleed, made everyone see that they were as mortal as anyone else. And you're right, they showed that anyone is replaceable, even those they claim are allies. Therein lies their treachery, attacking the Bowery King, the New York and Osaka Continental -- more than willing to eliminate any faction for _their_ inability to kill one man who was more than wiling to leave them alone if they hadn't pushed him around one too many times; and more than willing to break the rules and proclaim they no longer apply to them in order to force everyone to bend their knee to the High Table alone.
They did it to the Bowery King, after he pointed out that he aided Wick before he was _Excommunicado_ and thus his punishment was unjust; they did it to Koji, ignoring the rules that no business be conducted on Continental grounds, and _only_ deeming it deconsecrated when Koji attempted to enforce those rules.
And in the process, those same factions made the High Table bleed resources, showing that they _could_ be resisted, even defeated. Even the Elder, "The One who sits above the Table," was not safe from retribution. If nothing else, John restored balance by reminding everyone in the criminal underworld of their mortality, and that the moment one ignores the rules...
    ... *_"Consequences."_*

The armor these high table suits have in their suits wouldn't stop the arrows or keep them from going all the way through the arms or legs. A 40 to 50 lb pull bow is enough to render these guys dead. And the weapons are fairly silent, thus you cannot tell where they came from after they are shot. Reality is all those archers would have put everyone of them down in one fell swoop. Why two shots, then wait? Making the movie go longer than it really would have, I suppose....fight scene is better if we leave reality out of it.

I find Koji's fighting style very interesting... Samurai, and guns. And he makes it work! I mean, of COURSE he does... Hiroyuki Sanada literally CAN'T... NOT!

I particularly love the moment when Sanada tells some of his followers "we have guests" (meaning we're going to fight someone) and their only response is "Hai!", pause only long enough to down their (presumably) sake shots, grab some weapons and move out to get it on, kill and die, all without a care in the world.
