For once, DaFoe is actually DaFriend.
He was that also as Elias in Platoon, my favorite role of his.
He was Nemo's friend Gill in Finding Nemo. And he was also Jesus in The Last Temptation of Christ, and who is friendlier than that? Lol.
😂😂😂😂
Well he’s always been something of both
@@dorreyeet1529 He's something of a DaFriend himself.
DaFoe was such a boss in this movie. I think if they thought it'd be a franchise, they might not have killed him.
Plan was always to make it a franchise. But not in the way you think. John Wick is actually a video game. This is why everyone continued dancing in the club while they were shooting because they weren’t in the game.

When you think about the hopes his wife must have had for John after her passing, the entire series gets just a bit sadder. She gave him something else to love and care for, something else to live for, and she died believing that would help bring peace to his life. But that opportunity was snuffed out in the blink of an eye, and John Wick never found peace. Not until death.
@Jay Talents that was his way of life, indoctrinated into it as an orphaned child. He could not escape it without great sacrifice, and still that life came for him in the momentary calm he had at the end of his wife’s life.
If you listen to the way Winston says words at the fauxneral and remember their talk of gravestones on the boat, he likely didn't die. My theory is that they'll do a few movies without him following Akira for killing or believing to have killed Caine in the post-credits scene. Because he was off the table, and had immunity from the table, much like you can't kill on continental grounds, I believe this will come back to bite her and she will have to eventually take on the entire table itself and finish what John started. I think then, and only then, will his need to return come into play.
@@TheXLAXLimpLungs This last movie pretty much was it for Keanu, though. He apparently hit himself pretty bad doing the stairs stunt landing wrong. It wouldn't be a bad thing to let him go.

She tried so hard. *HE* tried so hard. But then shitstain showed up and ruined everything. And it that ain't a mirror to life I don't know what is. All you can do is try your best and hope that nobody ruins it from the outside.
@@FingerDawg The thing is he had actually found peace. It wasn't until his wife died and the dog was killed that he got dragged back in
Love how he doesn't even mention the car during his rant to the boss. Sure, the car was just a thing, but the dog, not only was that a living creature; it was the final gift to him from his wife. The car wasn't that big of a deal. The dog is why he's going on the rampage.
yup, dude killed his hope. as he said. I feel so much empathy for JW dude.
Cars a car. That dog was a lifetime companion. Dude wouldnt gone baba yaga on anyone if theydve let the dog alone
Yes... and no. The reason he doesn't talk about the car? He already got it back. It was retreaveable. Can't un-kill the dog, not without becoming a reality deviant.

Ahhhh the good times when John wasn't just a two-word grunting killer and he actually spoke complete sentences.
Honestly Yea I wished he got some type of personality other than just killing
personally i think he has nothing to say apart from important details he has to say. Unlike in the first movie where goes in a revenge killing spree. The people in his world was clueless on why A retired assassin suddenly comes back killing the people of his former associate out of nowhere. So he had to explain and shit. Unlike in the 3rd and 4th movie where he is just trying to survive and press on to reach his goals.

I love the reaction of Viggo at 0:48. Up this point Viggo thinks that John wants to kill his son out of ego for killing his dog. But when John explains to Viggo what the dog really meant to him, he realizes the pain John felt when his son killed his dog. It’s a small but really heart wrenching detail.
He also probably got chills realizing that his son is well and truly boned if Wick escapes. He believes Wick would kill for his dog or car...but he didn't understand how deep the situation really was. I think it was more fear than empathy.
Really? I actually thought his reaction depicted the opposite. When he looked away, it seemed more like an expression of apathy and disinterest to me, and he even says "Oh, come on..." as if John's determination and reasoning is ridiculous, absurd, and a pain to listen to. Then, after finally becoming too bored with John's act of theater, he just walks away.
Uuuuuummmmmm.......what?????! Are you watching the same scene?? 🤔
@@D3DL1FT Yeah people really just make anything up. "He realizes the pain John felt"?? 🤣🤣
How was that even portrayed in the scene? That was not Viggo's reaction or character at all. He acted bored. He acted like he didn't have the time to listen to an angry and hurt John Wick go on about a dead f*ckin dog that his dead wife gave him- and which his son killed.
Then, like you said, he dismissed him and walked away. Tf 🙄😂
What scene was the OP watching? 😆
@@zerospecs2331I agree with you, but the utterly ridiculous amount of emojis make you seem clinically insane to any normal person.
That line always gets me; "killed that from me", it makes no sense, it's not a logistically sound sentence, but we all know what it means and feel the intensity of it. His one last chance at peace after his wife's death. One last living thing he can cling to and the last gift his wife left him was, really, "killed from him". Such a clunky line but delivered with such powerful conviction...man I love this character lol
How do you figure it made no sense? What Iosef killed was John's hope; the last tie to his restored humanity. In other words, Iosef killed a part of John Wick - the part his wife nurtured and loved, the part that allowed him to love her in turn. John was utterly ruthless and cold to a fault before Helen. She *gave* him a heart and a new purpose, and that dog was meant to preserve those things after she was gone.
If your complaint is one of grammar, then I do feel it prudent to note the structure is sound according to the rules of both American and British English. Killing is after all an action, and something on the receiving end of that action would be killed.
@@tek512🤓🤓🤓
@@chrisdawson1776 🤏🧠
I think it works perfectly. It's weird grammar, but it shows in that moment he's not trying to be eloquent. He's just spitting his feelings, raw and unprocessed.
the irony of the phrase "not a logistically sound sentence" is amusing to me.
I forgot how expressive John was in the first one. Relatable. Now four installments in and we see how deep this world goes and how completely cold and ruthless he has to become again since being alone and unretired.
That’s what people don’t understand I think.
They complain that he speaks less and less as the movies go on but the man is focused on his objectives, and the heart only grows colder with each kill under his belt.
It’s not that he speaks less, he just has less to say.
@@jackf1830 that and the fact that being hunted by every assassin in the world by that point doesn't really give you time to say much lmao
This is one way of looking at it, a more cynical way is that he's just become a less interesting character. John Wick wasn't a one man army in the first movie, he was an expert. Whenever he took on multiple enemies, he has some kind of distinct advantage playing in his favor, like his own house or a crowded club. He was vulnerable, the action was tense. He has to be saved from death by Willem Dafoe in this very scene. In the sequels, he's an invincible pistol prodigy, it's like he's using wall hacks in a shooter video game-- and that's even not my words, that's from a critic who loved the 4th movie. The first didn't feel like a video game at all, and with the personal element to the story and John's expressive personality more or less gone these films have sort of devolved into a really well produced power fantasy. I enjoy the sequels a lot, but they don't work very well as sequels to this film, which I thought had a perfect ending.
Well too bad they just woke the baba yaga in him , that arrogant kid just ruined everything.
@@BullHorse33 This is exactly it, he has had nothing to do since the first movie and has been a passenger in his own films. There's no character arc, it's purely been "Mission Objective: Survive" for all three sequels as everyone else are the ones that incite his story. He's completely reactionary to everything, and almost never actually shows ingenuity, planning, or complexity anymore. He uses his magical suit plot armor to consistently save him, which causes his choreography to be extremely hare-brained and lazy. The sequels are fun watches, but they're poorly written and are basically parodies of the movie they're attempting to follow-up. Really sad what happened to the character.
Imagine that from Viggo's persepctive. He left the warehouse, enters the van, starts riding around the block and the guy he literally just saw a few minutes ago with his hands tied appears in front of him with a fucking shotgun and kill his driver. That's some real baba yaga shit right there!

Love how Marcus only kills one dude and from there he just keeps an eye on John and watches the entire fight and struggle just in (the rare) case John isn't able to make it alone, and when he does, he starts disassembling his gun with an expression of "Oh God that was beautiful" seeing John doing what he does best after years of retirement.
It's also kind of funny the surviving mook, who just saw his partner done in by a sniper, didn't think to maybe move the fight (or at least himself) away from a clearly dangerous area against a foe that clearly has backup.
I still like to think John would have eventually freed himself and taken both of them out regardless.
I thought he kept watching to enjoy the show...
@@diamondjim7560 I think the same thing. He probably would have flipped over the chair, pulled his arms back in front of him to take the bag off his head and killed the weaker henchman first.
Ok guys... first rule when you're a sniper and your friend is doing some backflip throwdown jiujitsu ground battle against someone else: DONT. SHOOT. Because you can hit him. Is it that hard to figure out?
Edit: and the "surviving mook" did the best thing. You can't outrun a bullet and there wasnt anywhere nearby to hide either, he used John as a shield while also trying to kill him, which was his main task. Remember: he's not a main character, but he's still a pro.
great scene. it makes him feel vulnerable. John would have died shouting empty threats if not for the respect and friendship he had earned from marcus. there's not always a way out. John is the most skilled and determined character in this world, but he's still completely human.
It the same with almost every character John doesn't want to kill. Morpheius and Winston are like that as well, they both helped him to the point he 100% would be dead if they did not. Shout out to the RUssian dancer lady as well that got stabbed. And even bitchy Halle.

I never really noticed how when John mentions how he got the dog and Viggo's expression changes as he realizes *why* it matters so much. It's those little things that really give this movie extra replay value
If they hadn't made this scene, the whole franchise certainly wouldn't have made it to four movies. It explains why John will never stop.
Well, apparently the principals are taking a hiatus to think about where to go from here in the series, if anywhere. Their dilemma is reducing elements that are getting stale, like the over-long fight scenes, with something equally compelling. IMO the story needs a major turn that surprises us and brings in new characters. Don’t worry. However they go, Keanu will still be kicking ass.

This scene is what makes the whole series work. He’s vulnerable, he’s raw. The death of the dog might have excused the deaths in the house fight, but by the 60th kill, it doesn’t really work anymore. This scene shows that under that suave calculated demeanor is a truly broken man. He lost the love of his life and the chance at peaceful future, a chance to truly change for the better. He was always hanging on by a thread and after his chance to grief was taken away, there nothing for him here. So as long as the series goes on you think of this scene, bc this is the true John. This is what you connect to, and this is why you’re with him until the end.

John and Viggo have perhaps the most fascinating Protagonist/Antagonist relationships you'll see in movies. It's almost like a twisted Father/Son relationship. Viggo really really likes John. The only reason he is trying to kill John is because he has a duty to protect his son. You can see here how rattled Viggo gets when John explains exactly why it's about the dog. Viggo gets it, and feels for John in that moment because he likes John. And you can tell that John really really likes Viggo. Which is why he will kill everyone else to get to his son, but won't kill him. John doesn't kill Viggo here, because he knows that Viggo was doing what he had to do at that point. Once Viggo stepped aside, John would have never killed him. Not until Viggo kills his friend does John set out to kill him. And even then, they have a mutual respect in their last fight. John is finishing it because Viggo made himself a part of finishing it.
watch that movie with Ed Harris and Liam Neeson. They're friends but Neeson's son killed Harris' so Harris has to kill him and Neeson has to protect him.

the best part of these movies is the subtle details they put in. the way he gets down from the hood of the car, not to take his hands off the gun. so good.
I've always thought of Marcus as the kind of person who never really liked killing. Contrarily, I think he actually empathized closely with Wick when he left the business. I get the sense he was looking for a way out himself, but there was always his reputation to protect.
John's true strength isn't his ability to assassinate but his ability to make close, loyal friends and earning the respect of his peers. John never gets through a movie alone and always has friends who will help him.
Everyone that helped him was probably saved or helped or given assistance or backup in some kind of way by him but in such a huge way they’d help him even when he’s excommunicado
The thing I love most about the first movie is that it shows John as a consummate professional in his field - but it also shows most of the enemies as professionals as well, not bumbling buffoons. It really helps to showcase just how much better John Wick is than everyone else.
I love this scene because, as badass as he was, if it wasn't for Defoe's character, that would've been the end of John Wick. It showed him being vulnerable and weakened his plot armor some. Crazy how this is the most emotion we see from him in the saga
probably because this was him at his most emotional, he was angry and spiteful, ready to tear off your head and shit down your neck. the subsequent movies he doesnt need to do that because its him playing to survive. the first movie was him being emotional over his wife, the rest of the movies it was the villain who was being emotional.

Keanu is such a light, and he clearly holds back so much darkness. His acting gets a lot of flack, but he lets that shit fly in that dialogue with Viggo
It has to do with his father. Keanu is cold, deep down, I'm betting. He didn't go to see his father on his death bed.
Keanu is an actor, he's human just like anyone else. This idolization and deification of actors is fucking weird.

It’s possible it’s because John is antisocial because I found something similar in Daredevil because in that show, Kingpin is portrayed as being autistic, that’s why he has no chemistry or charisma.

The NY Times posted a short article on how, for a gruff, taciturn, and exceedingly dangerous guy, John Wick sure has a lot of true friends, friends willing to go to the mat for him.
But here is, I think, the point: JW is something that his whole world of weirdly formal bad men admires and aspires to, but rarely achieves: both the badass to end all badasses, and a genuine man of honor. And the honor is what counts. He's what every one of them would be if they could, if they had the strength of character to live their convictions.
I Agree
bahahah I love how you phrased these guys as "weirdly formal men"
"Strength of character" sure buddy. The only one keeping anyone else from having that strength are the writers.
You'd be surprised how many REAL and LOYAL connections you make in the war game. Most people who have deployed to a warzone have a few people they may not interact with regularly, but would turn you inside out for.
Don’t forget, the series was inspired by Marvel, a two-dimensional comic world where contradictions are tolerated if not encouraged. A character as likable as John Wick could not temperamentally bring himself to kill strangers in cold blood for pay. But what we see in the movie is cartoon killing, rapid-fire, eliminating only baddie cartoon characters. Audiences can enjoy the nice guy/assassin contradiction in character because they see that John kills only bad people.
It's this scene that makes the first john wick my favorite. You never see john emote like this in any of the other films.
I really wish John had more dialogue like this in the later movies. More story in general would also be nice, the fourth movie was amazing and action packed, but it was so action packed that after a bit you start to get a little fatigued with it.
Yeah, don't get me wrong, it was fun, but it kinda felt like one or of those scenes could have been cut or reduced in length a bit.
Hell, you could cut down the going to kill that huge dude scene to them dropping off Wick and him delivering proof of death and the movie would nothing
The less line Keanu has the better. Especially since he's literally surrounded by Oscar winning and nominated actors later it just is very apparent his lack of acting ability. He's best utalized in limited lines. Plus his character is more about action than talking.
@@FFmaxxx Yeah, but I don't think most people watching John Wick would mind if Keanu had more lines, especially when he had many more lines in the first movie and nobody seemed to care. THIS is the John Wick I wanted in the rest of the franchise
this is what I love about the first movie, John was an extremeful skill assassin, but human nevertheless. Dafoe character saved his life more than once. My thoughts after watching JW4. Enjoyable but the zaniness is cranked up for each subsequent movie. In the 1st and 2nd movies, him being shot and beaten up left him battered, bruised and bloody, now there's barely a scratch after fight scenes. Yeah, there's some suspension of disbelief for these movies, but the first couple ones had a decent semblance of believability. They reference how he killed somebody with a pencil, so of course they have to SHOW him kill a guy with a pencil in the sequel. It's pretty vapid once you look past how impressive the stunts are.
That speech alone from John Wick made me love this movie even more.
They need to eventually do a prequel trilogy explaining Viggo and John's rise to power and ending with the 'impossible task" that wins John his freedom.
No
Having seen them all now... I can say with certainty that I really wish they'd have done the last couple movies like this one... Grounded, gritty, realistic, low budget badassery!
I know. Man I know. I loved 3. But it was more for the worldbuilding, and I liked the fights because of just the beauty of the marshal arts.
4 gets damn cheesy.
@Karl with a K We all know this. It's called suspension of disbelief. Nobody watches these movies looking for realistic fights and shootouts.
@@EdgarLeon-tq3uj Eh, yeah they actually do. John Wick was put on its pedestal BECAUSE it followed accurate shooting procedure and martial arts.
I really don’t know what to say, I never had an idea that I would have so much love and support from my fans here on UA-cam, though as you know I wasn’t really a fan of UA-cam, it was just a test run and I got into it,and so far it isn’t that bad... i hope you’re keeping safe . Well I wanna start off by saying a very big Thank you for your support, for your help, your indefinite love and everything else I can’t explain,so far I haven’t gotten much followers because it’s a temporary new account Keep the likes , comments , Reposting and tweeting coming. And I’m just so grateful for everything. If you follow me so well you would know lately I have been on my project series movie which is coming out soon and other interviews,Which I have made clear to everyone that might have been with me on live , to be careful and mindful of who you talk to on the internet claiming to be me.
I find it so amusing that even though john is tied to a chair, and one would naturally assume that he's in a weaker position, when he shows his rage viggo is still taken aback. fascinating.
Legit...... Keanu's lines in this seen are the best lines across all four films. Not only because it fits the scene, but literally sums up motivation for the whole franchise LMAO
The most acting Keanu has done in his entire career
“Cool it, cool it,cool it,cool it” hilarious every time
*bang*
"..shit!"
😂😂😂😂
I like how Viggo acts like he has better things to do than deal with an upset assassin, knowing the repercussions.
I love that near the end of John's rant he breaks all composure, like the Baba Yaga is really coming out.
Love this scene! This scene is one of the Greatest cinematic scene in a movie of All time! The raw emotions! Keanu is a wonderful actor! ❤️
Viggo still my favourite character from the franchise. RIP Mikael Nyqvist.
Keanu may not be a great actor all around, but he's great at a very specific range, and John Wick is the exact pinnacle of that range.
i guess you never seen " The Lake House " ?
if not , go watch it .
my opinion is that he IS a great actor all around .
btw . . . love your nic .
He goes excelent on the trope of ''the silent stoic hero'', probably John Wick revived his carreer in big movies that becomes mega-franchises, wich is awesome and I hope he gets more work because more Keanu it's a great thing.
@@pappy451 Eh, I think he's terrible in The Lake House. The scene where he sneezes was unintentionally hilarious. He fits the action hero type characters better and surprisingly fine villain in "The Gift" (2000).
He's not a very good actor but he sure as hell can make very good and entertaining movies.
His older stuff is Oscar nominated even, he’s pretty much just doing side quests now n
A lot of people say they saw more emotion from John during this one movie well it was because he lost his wife and the dog which was her final gift to him you hear it from the bartender that he seemed vulnerable was because John was never vulnerable he was a ruthless killer and as we saw in the sequels he had become that killer again
I love everything about Keanu ❤️ not only he one of the greatest but he so
Humbled too . By supporting him you know those money are going to good use ❤️
In hindsight their mistake was not just shooting him on the spot lol
lol exactly you know…who his man is smh
And just think, this all started with An Excellent Adventure.
Someone wasn't excellent to the wrong guy....
0:09 😂😂😂
I absolutely love the John Wick franchise. I always hated when anyone told him it was just a dog as a dog parent myself. His anger had nothing at all to do with the Mustang, that was just a possession that can be replaced but Daisy was a precious gift from his wife so that he wouldn't have to suffer alone in his grief from her loss.
So sad that the John Wick movies have come to an end!! I loved the action!! 😢😭
There's the spinoff Ballerina to look forward to, set between Wick 3 and 4. Reeves is reprising his role there.
Prove it, redman! John wick 4 is coming and maybe a 5th Movie!
Yeah, the best gift from his dying wife was that dog she picked for him. She knew the life he used to lead and having another to love, to focus on would help him. I would be pissed off too if my dying wife did the same thing. No words can describe the unconditional love a pet can have towards their human person.
Yep and to have that ripped away with such apathy and cold-heartedness just really makes you empathize with John. I know if my dog was killed like that I'd go on a revenge spree too
Like my grandpa used to say. "No matter how bad things seem, you can always count on Willam Dafoe."
The second henchman gave a really good performance. His panic reaction when the lock is on his neck made me wonder if he was really accidentally being strangled.
COOL IT COOL IT COOL IT COOL IT COOL IT Best line of the movie! 🤣🤣
Crime boss turned to scared bullied schoolyard kid in seconds lol
In my opinion this film is The Best of the bunch.
One of the best moments of cinema. . . 😍😍😍😍😍😍
John Wick, my hero ❤
Love that Wick uses mainly judo/BJJ!! 1:40 🔥🔥
Keanu’s acting was actually pretty good in this scene…
Gotta love Dafoe~ he's selective w/ hollyweird movie rolls, a code talker of sorts coming from his nyc roots of experimental theatre. What a Gem Dafoe 💖
"You know, I'm something of a sniper myself."
Que buena escena, realmente para realizar todo ese despliegue físico es algo más allá de la simple actuación 🎭Keanu uno de los mejores actores de acción del momento con diferencia 👌
People who think Keanu Reeves can't act definitely need to watch this clip. He really sets the tone of the John Wick character here.
Keanu Reevs performs terrific. Great actor and big, big human being.
Moving forward, Keanu needs to play John like this. If anyone out there is a fan, watch River's Edge. One of his first movies. He was excellent. A movie not for the faint of heart.
"Give me your son." Now THAT'S a line fit for The Boogeyman.
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (2024) Leaked Scene:
*G.U.N. has captured Shadow. As Shadow is being held down, Commander Walter's stares at Shadow, getting a good long look at him*
Shadow: *He stares at Walters with deep-seated anger in his eyes* Give me the emeralds…
Walters: *He looks at him* Project Shadow. *He chuckled, giving him a mocking look* “The Ultimate Lifeform!” *He stands up* It was 50 years ago! Just a little girl!
Shadow: …Just a little girl?... Human. 50 years ago, when I was created, I knew nothing. Until that little girl found me. The granddaughter of Dr. Jerald Robotnik. In those moments, she gave me everything. She gave me knowledge, kindness. An opportunity to understand what it means to be alive, to understand the world around me unalone. *He then cringed. He clenches his fists, seething with rage* And your soldiers…Took her from me… Stole her from me! *Orange electricity started sparking in his eyes* KILLED HER FROM ME!!! You humans thought I didn't exist. That I was nothing more than a piece of history left forgotten. You thought I would not come back! But now that I'm here, yeah! I'm thinking I'm back!!
*As Shadow was charging up, Walters began taking worried steps backward*
Shadow: So either you can hand over the emeralds, OR YOU CAN DIE SCREAMING ALONGSIDE THEM!!!
*Shadow releases a shockwave burst of energy, knocking back the 2 guards that were holding him down. Now free, Shadow makes his escape, taking down G.U.N. soldiers in his way*
Only In Theaters December 2024
The ULTIMATE Triquel!!! 💙⚡🖤❤
John Wick, dog owner extraordinaire!. 😊❤
I'm going to rewatch all three of these now thanks to this video! Gonna try to get to the theater for the 4th.
Its become a cliche that the bad guy leaves while the good guy gets killed (and of course it goes wrong). In this movie it works. You can feel that Viggo has a little guilt in him that his son screwed up and set this in motion. Viggo feels badly so he doesn't want to see John die.
I see people saying that John feels vulnerable in this scene, but I feel the opposite. John is terrifying here. He demands Viggo give him his son like he really is Baba Yaga from some dark Slavic fairytale. He's literally tied to a chair but he makes everyone there uncomfortable anyway.
One of the best dialogue delivery I have seen.
My favorite scene... John summed it all up for us...The reason for all of it... This monologue was delivered perfectly 👏🏽👏🏽
Keanu Reeves embodies all of us; if anything were to happen to our dogs.
Amen 🐾❤️
That's why they will always be considered man's best friend 💓😊
Ah yes, when the movies were more than. Just 20 minute long unbelievable fight scenes that dragged on way too long. And I nearly forgot John knew how to say more than 3 words.
When a good man goes to war, Demons run
I love how in this scene compare to the rest of the movie and the franchise he is extremely expressive, contrasting with his personality trougth the rest of the movie
A friend of mine lost his uncle to suicide during the pandemic. This clips explains why.
See, although he had a wife, he'd been emotionally alone for a long, long time, struggling with a lot of shame. Then he found a group of guys who he was finally, finally beginning to open up to. Then his wife got Covid. (She ended up being fine.) But when she came down with it, they didn't know, and he went to the men's group. Later, when he realized (that he might've been carrying the virus when he went to the group), he felt ashamed, and felt like he needed to tell the men's group that he might've been carrying it. The group didn't take it well. Nobody had gotten sick, but cuz of... fear, maybe? ...they got angry at him.
That week, he drove out one night. A cop came across his car just in time to hear the gunshot.
See, he'd be opening up. He'd been fucking opening up. He had the chance to grieve his shame, not alone, but with other men. He had the chance to grieve shame he'd been carrying for fifty years. That's why he took the rejection so hard.
Did he make the wrong choice? Yes. But I know full well the agony of needing somebody to grieve with and having nobody, cuz I'm a man, and us men aren't fucking allowed to cling to another man as we grieve. (Fuck that. FUCK that.) I know what it's like to begin to open up, only to have it torn away. I know what it's like to shake and sob like a madman, desperately clinging to Jesus as my last ditch effort to keep myself from getting a gun and pulling the trigger.
So yeah. It's not just a dog.
Did Wick make the right choice? No. But I get it. That's why the scene is so powerful. So, the next time somebody tears into you, maybe think about this scene, and what we might be triggering in them, and fight to show mercy. And you who tear into us cuz we triggered you, maybe think about this scene, and how WE might be holding back from reacting to your own misplaced anger.
As Jesus said, "If you have no sin, you can throw the first stone."
We all need somebody to tear into who can handle it...
Somebody who can survive our anger...
Somebody who will hold us as we let it all out, as we grieve what has been torn from us.
This is why I'm glad Jesus suffered and died on the cross as a sacrifice. Cuz it affirms everyone who wants to pull a John Wick. God is like, "Yeah, those who tore you do deserve to die. That's why I died. So justice can be done, and they have a chance to come home." Without forgiveness, we'll take the gun into our own hands; and who is worthy of that? Jesus will bring justice, and that helps me leave the gun in his hands.
What a beautiful dance to let Daniel Bernhardt go out to. He's been a great stuntman for many years, played one of the agents in 2nd and 3rd Matrix movies.
What a great line!!! "But it won't matter!!!"
