Hey man! Just discovered your channel. Awesome stuff here. I think I'm going with the Charge 5 for the scan abilities. Appreciate the info! I lost 100 lbs over the pandemic and now I'm ready to take my exercise and health to the next level, so I think the Fitbit is going to be a great next step.
I'm glad you're enjoying my stuff. Also congrats on the 100lbs Ethan. Keep up the great work and good luck on your fitness journey!
@@FitnessWithFrost Thank you brother! 👊🏻
I'm so glad I found your channel before deciding on what Fitbits to purchase. Great info tysm this really made a difference on my final decision.🤘😊🤗
So glad I could help! Good luck with your new band
I have the Charge 5 and I am happy with it. The Luxe screen seemed too small but not a bad device so it was a difficult choice. My wrist is very small so having both large and small bands in the box is a plus. I really like that I can read the Charge 5 in direct sunlight.
I'm glad you're enjoying your charge 5! Good luck on your fitness journey
Still liking it? Ive heard there are a lot of issues with the Charge 5?
Hey thanks for the detailed videos! I just commented on your other video comparison with the charge 4 and 5 asking the same question. Which model would have the strongest vibration on the alarm for heavy sleepers? Thanks!
I think they are the same with these two but I'm not 100%. If I would think one would be more powerful I would think it is the Charge 5
I had already purchases the luxe from my charge 3 as I didn't know that the charge 5 was being released. Nonetheless I am happy with the luxe as I already have my main smartwatch on my left hand and the luxe is not overkill when wearing both. I enjoy the fitbit app (fitbit user for 7 years) that is where the information of the luxe & 5 show the same data, so it's not much difference other than GPS and an additional couple of features. Great short and precise video Sir!
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Yeah if you aren't using premium and not using the GPS the only thing you're really missing out on is the bigger screen. But I'm glad you like your Luxe and good luck with your fitness journey
just what I needed, thanks man
No problem, I'm glad I could help!
Great video!! 👍 this helped me decide on what to get.
I'm glad I could help! Good luck on your fitness journey
Great video, thank you so much!
I'm glad I could help!
Thank you for making the decission easier
I'm glad I could help!
Great video! I have resisted buying a smart watch for a while thinking I don’t need it but have found myself carrying my phone with me everywhere just to track my steps which is annoying (but so addictive). 😬 will def be buying a Fitbit tomorrow (EXCITED)
Yeah this week be so much better than carrying your phone. Good luck with your new band!
This is not a smart watch, it’s a exercise band with some features
How do you define a smart watch?
the main thing what I doint like in Fitbit 5 or Luxe is screen. its not full body screen , just small square in middle.
Thanks for your review , just get a luxe as birthday presents, it’s easy and comfortable to wear ; and tracking stress and sleep is awesome !
I'm glad you enjoyed the review! Good luck on your fitness journey
Good review!
Great video! Luxe doesn't have high and low heart rate notifications on device or phone app?
Thank you. It does have them on the device itself. Hopefully that is helpful
What Bluetooth versions are on the Charge 5 and Luxe?
My Costco warehouse has the Luxe for $80 and the Charge 5 for $160 right now. Would you still recommend the 5 over Luxe? Also, would the Luxe be a significant upgrade from the Charge 2? Buying for my mom who has the Charge 2 right now and uses it mostly for steps and receiving text messages. Thanks for your help!
It would be a great upgrade from the 2. I would go for the Luxe at 80$, but I do hear that the Charge 5 will be going on sale as well. I think the only difference your mom is going to see is the screen size
Hi! I am very new to this activity trackers, looking for my 1st tracker ever and the Luxe seemed a great option for me because of the nice small design (I never wear anything in my wrist!). So... being a sedentary person just looking for a 1st device would it be ok to chose the luxe? How relevant are this GPS functions on a tracker?
I think it would be a great first tracker. The GPS is only really needed if you want to go on a run/bike/swim without your phone. Hopefully that was helpful
Yeah ! Thank you for the comparison. Quick question, did the charge have the relax (breathing) session ? Because I didn't see it 🤔 and for the spo2 is only at night like on the luxe ?
Yes I believe the Sp02 is just for sleep score purposes. As of right now there is no guided breathing on the Band but there are some meditation stuff in the app. Hopefully that's helpful!
@@FitnessWithFrost yes thanks. I like the guided breathing in bande because I can use it discretly on train or around people when I'm stressed.
I can definitely understand that. I'm glad I could help
Good morning. Thank you for all your videos. Can I bother you for a moment. Can you tell me if the vibration motor is noticeable? Not mild, somewhat, but do you feel it no matter what? And finally, can you tell me if the Charge 5 heart rate when working out keeps pace with the calories burned during the actual workout? In past fitbits I notice that when working out if you look at the calories burned, it will stay the same number for sometimes up to a minute or more till it decides to update to the actual calories burned at that moment. On Garmin if shows the calories burned in real time no matter what. No drag on the refresh time unlike the fitbit. Big deal breaker for me with fitbits. Thank you and forgive me for bugging you.
There are 3 different levels to the vibration on both so you can go to a high setting, but I had no problem feeling it at medium. On the app itself it does need to update to see calories burned but it does track on the Band itself. Hopefully that is helpful!
I’ve have a ton of problems with my luxe. Doesn’t charge properly. It is difficult to show the display. I’ve watched a ton of videos on cleaning, proper charging, rebooting, etc. Such a disappointment. I loved my older charger. Then I got an Apple Watch and hated that, I thought the luxe would be a good option. Maybe I have to buy the new charger.
I’ve had the Fitbit Charge 2, Alta HR, Charge 4. But today my Fitbit charge 4’s band connector broke, and the part can’t be replaced. This is the 3rd fitbit that I’ve gone through (they break and then I upgrade to a new one) I really like the Luxe but not sure if I should get Fitbits anymore :(
I heard about the problems with the Charge 4. So far I haven't heard to much of a problem with the connections in the Charge 5
Thanks! You helped me decide between the 2. I just went to purchase the Charge 5.
I'm glad I could help! Enjoy your new band and good luck on your fitness journey
A good comparison !!!
Would you suggest a smartwatch for stress monitoring?
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Stress is a hard thing to monitor. The EDA scan on the Fitbit Charge 5 is a helpful tool on it
@@FitnessWithFrost Thank you !!!
You're welcome I'm glad I could help
I am trying to look at luxe and then garmin vivosmart 4.. I would pick the garmin vivosmart because it seems to last longer from hear say.. BUT u can’t change the band! I would love to have the ability to change the band lol
I had a Charge 5 and I was very happy with it. However, it kept falling off of my wrist, disconnecting where the band attached to the face of the watch. I lost it once and was able to find it after downloading a Fitbit tracker app. I recently lost it again and this time even the app couldn't help me find it. Knowing that it would occasionally just fall off, I'm concerned that replacing it will only be a repeat issue with the watch falling off. Has anyone else had this problem?
I really haven't heard of anyone with the problem, but that is concerning. Were you using the band it came with?
sorry, i'm confused about the GPS on the luxe. does it not have it at all? i go on short walks/bikes around my neighbourhood, all i would want to see is my distance, time, and a map of it. it doesnt matter if i cant see it on the watch itself, on the phone is fine
It does not have a GPS, but if you bring your phone with you it can use the phones GPS to do just that. Hopefully that was helpful
Can you control spotify on either the charge 5 or luxe? I know both dont have music storage but being able to skip tracks or play/pause without having to take out my phone would be nice
They do both have music controls to skip tracks on the bands. Hopefully that helps
Yeah it does, thanks for the response!
No problem! Good luck on your fitness journey
Well explained... thanks
I'm glad I could help!
I'm looking for my first watch. Not interested in a smart watch, like Samsung etc. Just want to record, exercise, sleep, cycling, motocross etc.
So would like GPS, hear rate metre, waterproof, stress, map overall health condition etc. As many health related options as possible basically
I do use strava, so to like it with that would be good.
Could you recommend a couple of options, I don't have a particular brand in mind. But would like the keep the watch on the smaller side, or size of your average normal watch size.
Any help would be much appreciated.
I was set on a fitbit charge 4/5. But have read several recent reviews about, them not tracking great. You either get a heartbeat reading, and no GPS or vice versa.
King regards jarno
Keep up the good reviews
I'm glad you're enjoying my videos and sorry about getting back to you so late. Do you have a budget you would like to stay with? What do you typically do when you workout?
Hi, thanks for the clarification. I own a Polar Advantage and would like to switch to Fitbit for the stress management. I have a high demanding job and sometimes the stress is a bit overwhelming. How do these 2 compare on that level? I know the charge 5 has EDA but I saw something like skin temperature in the Luxe's features as well so I'm a bit lost now. So if I'm really just interested in tracking daily activity + stress management, which one would be the one for me? Thanks!
Both are very capable devices, but the Charge 5 with its EDA will give you some better insights on stress. On the Polar clarification sadly I haven't tested any Polars yet so I don't think I could give you a fair comparison. Hopefully that helps
@@FitnessWithFrost Thanks a lot!
No problem I'm glad I could help. Good luck on your fitness journey
No problem I'm glad I could help. Good luck on your fitness journey
Are the active zone minutes a premium only feature?
Those come without the premium membership
hello first of all i want to say i`m not a native english speaker. now you said something about the charge 5 that confuses me. you said it has an altimeter for more accurate data for distance up and down. but as far as i know the charge 5 no longer counts floors climbed. so could you let me know does it have an altimeter and does it count floors climbed or not ? i want to upgrade from a charge 3 but from what i understand all the fitbit trackers don't have floors climbed any more. this is for me an important future
It does not have an altimeter and does not track floors. It will track elevation on runs through GPS data. Hopefully that clarifies things
@@FitnessWithFrost thanks
No problem. Good luck on finding a band that is right for you
@@FitnessWithFrost thanks again
I have Afib and it's very important to track my ECG accurately as it will help the doctor determine if I need a procedure to correct my heartbeat. Can anyone offer guidance as to the reliability of the ECG feature and the download to a shareable capability? Thank you!
did you get a reply for this question?
I think the only real way to know is to talk to a doctor or a professional from that field. It will come down to the doctor on what they think is best for you
Is readiness score part of premium Fitbit? Or can u always use it?
Sadly that is only with premium
So many Amazon 1 star reviews keep talking about a mandatory $80 membership for their new features. Is that true?
Not mandatory
Yes it isn't mandatory. But to get some features you do need to have a fitbit plus membership
@@FitnessWithFrost thanks. I'm not paying for that.
No problem. I'm glad I could help
Is there a monthly fee for Fitbit charge GPS access or is that included in the fee that you paid for the watch?
The GPS with the Charge 5 is still functional without a monthly fee. Hopefully that was helpful
@@FitnessWithFrost thank you
No problem! Glad I could help
@@FitnessWithFrost also with luxe?
Wonder if the luxe still able to track the distance, active zone minute or steps if it was not accompanied with a mobile phone?
Distance will be estimated. Steps and active zone mintues still will be tracked
Thanks for this review. i have a question. i am gonne buy a fitbit device. Can you tell me which fitbit device has better heart rate accuracy? Thank you👍
They both have the and heart rate sensor so either one will do great with heat rate tracking. Hopefully that is helpful
Are either water proof?
What other bands do you recommend for these???
Do you mean replacement bands or another device?
Does either Fitbits have tile?
I have tile on my Inspire 2 and quit like that convenience.
That's a solid question and I'll do some research on that tomorrow
Fitbit inspire 2 only for right now
1:20 can you get that Charge 5 skin on the Luxe?
I'm sorry, are speaking about the watch face?
I found the charge 5 didn’t track my sleep accurate and would cut out so I upgraded to the Garmin venu 2
The Venu 2 is an awesome watch. I don't think you will be disappointed
@@FitnessWithFrost thank you I found my charge 3 more reliable then the charge 5 but couldn’t tell you why! 🤔
That is weird. I have heard that have been some defective units here an there
Yeah that should not be the case but u think you are going to be very happy with the Venu 2. I sure am
really helpfull
Does the charge 5 have the same band as the charge 4?
Sadly it does not
Thanks for the review. So basically for 200 hundred dollars you can't have heart rate and GPS. Useless product to do activity.
I'm glad it was helpful. Do remember you can still use your phone for GPS and I didn't run into the problem that others had. Good luck with your search
I only can get Charge 4 in my country, should I get it or choose Luxe instead?
So you can't get the Charge 5? The Luxe is a great band as well. If you don't need GPS or the EDA scan I think it would be a great choice
@@FitnessWithFrost I want a band that wouldn't break easily on me like my Xiaomi Mi Band 5 did, I want an accurate heart and sleep monitoring band. What GPS is used for in smartbands? I know that it can track where you have ran on the map but that seems kinda useless.
GPS is something a decent amount of people want in a band to track runs/bike rides, but it's not really something I consider important with my use case. So far the Luxe and Charge 5 have had pretty get durability. I haven't heard to much problems with it. I do remember hearing the Charge 4 would break at the strap on some people so that was a problem there
@@FitnessWithFrost yup actually it's the most common problem with all Fitbit bands. Also I noticed other bands that look great - Versa 3 and Inspire 2, I'm still kinda leaning onto Luxe because it's the newest watch, but I just need a confirmation, will Luxe suffice with accurate heart, sleep measurements? I agree with you on GPS part, I thought the watches could show maps on it too, but not with Fitbit I guess.
I found the Luxe to be very accurate on pretty much every metric so I definitely would recommend it
Charge 5 it is!! Thank you for sharing
I'm glad I could help. Good luck on your fitness journey
the 5 still a good buy a year later ?
I definitely think it is. There are rumors of a 6 coming out this year, but I'm not to sure
Is it worth upgrading from a fitbit Charge 3?
I think you would be extremely happy upgrading from the Charge 3. If you have the money I definitely would if I was you
@@FitnessWithFrost ok thank you 🫡
I was in love with fitbit charge 4 until it’s start adding a steps while I’m driving ☹️😭
Yeah that can very a bit frustrating
You can burn calories driving 😅
This is true. I'm just wondering what you are doing while driving...🤣
@@riccccccardo I’ll try to drive faster 😂
@@FitnessWithFrost 🤭
Outro song?
I don't think your can really find it anywhere. I comes with editing software called Wevideo
Thanks for the video. You misspoke at 4:50. The Charge 5 does not have an altimeter.
That was totally on me. It just uses the GPS to calculate your elevation. I'm glad you liked the video
@@FitnessWithFrost Does Charge 5 record elevation as "FLOORS" on the Fitbit app as it does with Charge 3 etc? Is the GPS calculation for elevation less accurate than with an altimeter. I thought that the Charge 5 did not record "floors" which is a deal breaker for me. Thanks
Yeah fitbit in general have moved away from floors as a fitness metric. Samsung has done the same
There is no altimeter on charge 5
Yeah I made a mistake. They use the GPS to get altitude data
Which one is better?
Out of the 2 I would take the Luxe unless you need GPS. Hopefully that is helpful
Sounds like you have no comment on that.
On what? I'm confused
Fitbit Inspire Hr VS Fitbit Luxe
Oh definitely the Luxe there if money isn't a problem. The Inspire 2 is still a great device for its price though
stay positive!
Yes! Love it
Great video..thanks.....What was wrong with your voice?
I'm glad you enjoyed! I'm a fitness instructor as my regular job so I talk/yell all day so my voice gets raspy
Your transition music is way too loud. Great video
Thank you. Yeah I got rid of my old editing software so audio is much better these days
my luxe gets 7 days battery but I'm not a runner.
That's great battery life for the Luxe
Got the Charge 5. The luxe looks and sounds like the lady charge 5 🤘😜
Kinda is that way. Little smaller for the wrist does help
Based upon my experience with Fitbit Ionic recall, I will never buy another Fitbit. Three months and counting, waiting for Fitbit refund.
That's pretty crazy. Did they give you the option of cash or credit for another device?
@@FitnessWithFrost They quickly gave a voucher for a new Fitbit, but they were also suppose to provide a refund. So I spent more money to buy a new Fitbit and have been waiting for refund. Have repeated called refund center, gotten a different story each time. Requested to talk to supervisor. They will post a note to file, but no guarantee will get a call. Refund has been escalated, still nothing. Registered for recall on 3/4/2022. Emails and messenger but no timeline, email address or phone number for supervisor team.
I don’t like wearing a watch…so the smaller the better…the luxe wins my $$$
This guy sounds like he needs a glass of water. Great review though!
Thank you. Yeah I'm a trainer for a living so I yell for a living so I lose my voice a lot
Gotta say I cringed when you said "female tracking" 💀 😂 I guess I'm gonna have to keep an eye out for all the dudes with their female trackers on.
Just say periods. Please, 😂 just say period tracking
Lol it feels weird saying it as well. Yeah I definitely have to learn from that
I agree we need the word period and not 'feminine/female' or worse 'cycle', legit thought it was a bike specific tracker till I facepalmed after a minute 🤣🤣🤣🤣 (the mi band 6 has cycle not fitbit)
Definitely working on it. Not easy talking about it as a make creator, but I'm learning
@@FitnessWithFrost It's awkward for women too when people legit recoil from the word as we never use it, stupid social taboos! Loved the vid, going for the luxe myself :)
What the heck is female tracking? Does it beep when females are nearby? 🙄
You know, menstrual cycle is not a swear word...
“Female tracking”
Yeah. I think I'm going to change that verbiage in later videos
Thumbs down for all the ads
Thank you for the feedback
Did he say female tracking? Lol
Ment to specify menstrual tracking lol. Female tracking does sound very creepy
garbage cant last 24 hrs with basic options enabled worse tracker ever and to be honest fitbit is complete crap altogether , stay away ! My wife had Alta , Inspire , Charge 4 and now Charge 5 the 5 is the worse of them all in term battery life and Charge 4 broke during sleep the band lock mechanism broke of like cut of with laser , so much about FITBIT
Sorry to hear about all of that. If you're only getting 24 hours of battery life you should really contact fitbit
@@FitnessWithFrost gladly however fitbit is just ignoring the questions, there was a huge thread on their forum support page regarding the same issue wich they decided to close without any resolve or explanation. I personally have ZERO respect for fitbit right now.
That is very concerning. Did you end up returning the Charge 5?
@@FitnessWithFrost not at this moment it is still under warranty so we will see after the next firmware update if the situation doesn't improve then we will return it
It will be 2nd or 3d firmware update for us as far as I can remember. One was received once we activated and setup the device cant recall if there was another one but now Ill pay close attention fir the next one. If the tracker behavior is the same regarding the battery life its going back and no more Fitbit ever. Im Garmin user and never ever experienced anything even close to issues my wife experienced through out the whole rang of Fitbit trackers. This one however killed it in terms of issues. My personal devices was Garmin Tactix C and now Garmin Tactix D Sol and the change was just for better tech and SOL support not because i had any issues with Charlie. So much about that.
