That steel one sounded exactly how I thought it would lol
The DXP sounds like an unholy mix of cymbal and cowbell
I'm learning the drums because of you and your channels, thank you for existing dank!
I'd never seen this channel before and got mentally flashbanged when I heard dankpods' voice
6:05 DONK.
You took the words right out of my mouth about the sound. It sounds so trashy, but that's sometimes exactly what you're looking for. It carried those notes way better than I was expecting.
The egg sounds… insane, but also fantastic? It takes a second to adjust your expectations, but I kind of love the sound of it
That DXP cymbal broke me EVERY TIME, gagging and everything
I love how much it sounds like you're listening to these Blank Cymbals from the other end of a very long hallway, they have a very satisfying distance to their sound especially the way it rolls off. The comparison in the bells at 2:17 are unbelievably nice to hear
You should make a kit that is all DXP cymbals with a St. Anger snare.
Also, steel cymbals can sound good. They just need to be made properly (i.e., not painted to prevent the gong/bonk sound).
It can't be that hard to source an old paint can for the snare, eh?
Acetone time!
Scraptrap if he was a drum set:
The blanks would sound really sick as part of a metal kit, imagine those things in a breakdown
before finding your channel, I never understood the different sounds of cymbals, but... I... I get it... every time you bring out the K dark ride I get excited cause I love how it sounds, and I don't really know _why_ I love how it sounds
Loved the egg on the basic jazz beat, awesome background "shimmer" that kept up all the way through. Total sense of energy through it. - from a jazz trumpeter who knows jack about drums and it shows
Wade man I gotta say, watching your drum vids and talking about cymbals, I find myself focusing on the drums and cymbals in the music I listen to the last few weeks and noticing nuances I never did before. Thanks for teaching us in a hilarious way.
I always come back to this video for some reason despite knowing very little about drums. It's THAT entertaining.
I actually really love how airy the egg sounds
It’s like a China
5:53 "I don't need to say any words after this"
And he didn't.
4:00 Master work Blank Crash sounds like slamming a shopping cart into the cart corral.
The blank sounds amazing. Nice and clean
that masterwork blank crash has such a rad industrial sound to it, it has like a yaw sound to it
Good to know I can experience the dxp experience at home with a pot lid and a wooden spoon
i'd almost describe those blanks as *papery* like you're crumpling up a piece of parchment paper with every hit it's fascinating
oh that GM design blank is really beautiful. the kind of hiss i could really listen to
That Steel symbal brought to my head the image of sailors being trapped under their boat.
It’s never boring time with dank.
I have never felt so sad listening to a cymbal than when you played that DXP.
