"for so many years, I was afraid I had nothing more to offer" - - this hits so hard
So happy for the man. I wept.

I felt that. I’ve been there too 😢
I know I'm going to get hate for this, but representation matters. It gives actors like this that work hard to achieve their dreams.

Give the man his Oscar now, OMG!! 😭 In one film, to be a mild-mannered husband, action hero, suave movie star, and speak 2 Chinese dialects and English?! Amazing!
He already has it in the bag at this point
That movie made me cry 2 times! Incredible speech!
He also speaks Vietnamese too.

Talk about a career renaissance. I remember him from my 80s childhood favorite movies. Well done, mate. Well done!
While Brendan Fraser is the comeback I've been waiting for, Ke Huy Quan is the comeback I didn't know I wanted. I'll be rooting for them both to win on Oscar night.
Edit on 3/13/23: Congratulations to the best actor and the supporting actor winners! I'm so happy for them.
Ive never cared more about the Oscars until this year! They need to win!
Who would've guessed back in 1992 that two actors from a harmless teen movie like Encino Man would win Oscars on the same night 31 years later?
Next up, Pauley Shore...well, maybe not.
@@ShadyLurker16 Been waiting almost 30 years for a Bio-Dome sequel.
I have a feeling it's gonna be a split. One of the movies wins, and one of the actors wins. It's a toss-up of which. I haven't seen the whale yet. I love everything everywhere all at once. I am happy for both of them.
probably the greatest acceptance speech of all time. The guy is just oozing with gratitude. love to see it.

Did not recognize him at all until he spoke, the voice hasn't changed a bit, it brings me back to 1984, that is the Short Round😍
Definitely not "the greatest", but it's still amazing and beautiful. No need to exaggerate
Brendan Fraser was comparably very gracious and emotional at the Critics’ Choice Awards. Genuinely, I’m very happy for both of them.
@Robert J "You're wrong and you're stupid. And if you try to dispute that, you'll just prove me right." Damn dude, checkmate. I guess I lose 😂
The most beautiful honest humbling acceptance speech ever. This is why we need good good people in Hollywood. He works hard and he is so grateful to be where he is. It inspires me. I cried so much.
update: I have watched every other hour ALL DAY. I will use this to continue to fuel me as an artist and to be able to make it. Brilliant actor with a kind heart.
@@camara1194 I totally agree! His interviews have warmed my heart and fed my soul. He's so wholesome and inspiring that I can't stop watching him. Best wishes to you on your artistic endeavors.
The round table talk he just did with Brendan Frasier, Colin Farrell, Austin Butler, Adam Sandler and a few others was fantastic
He's been a Hollywood underdog for so many years. Half of you don't even remember him. He's only a few years older than me. I saw "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" back in the summer of '84. Then I saw him a year later in "Goonies." After that, he explained the rest that happened to him. So I'm glad he's finally got another opportunity. Congrats to him.
Ke's pleasant return genuinely re-ignites so many inner passions and hopes in all of us.
this is one hell of a comeback. dude left Hollywood for almost 40 years. came back and smashed it out of the park.
He didn’t leave cause he wanted to. There wasn’t opportunities for Asians in Hollywood.
Actually Hollywood left him. He waited until Hollywood got more progressive and gave him a fair chance.
He didn't leave for 40 years his last acting was in 2002.
He worked as a stuntman and coordinator. He was still in Hollywood. Just not acting.
Daniel Day Lewis eat your heart out.
The ending when he thanked his wife was phenomenal. It was so heart felt
He carried so much energy the whole time he gave his speech. The dude is a blessing to have.
He is the character he plays in EEAAO!
Right, that choked me up
Bro was in room with giants
@Westend Greens Extortion why are you all over every video pertaining to this movie calling it garbage? Get a life
This might be the comeback of the Century. Dude dissapears from the Hollywood scene for 30 freaking years, and comes back to win a Golden Globe, INCREDIBLE!
There have been a few comeback stories and they're always great to see. Jackie Earle Haley in Watchmen comes to mind.
Wouldnt it be nice to wrap a story on a good note… hopingly so.
Now if we can just get Rick Moranis back all will be right with the world.

Incredible that Stephen Spielberg was in the same room when Ke won that Golden Globe and he was able to thank him in his speech. Nearly 39yrs since Temple of Doom released.

Seeing Ke Huy Quan win tonight feels so monumental, not just for him but for any Vietnamese watching tonight. It truly feels like he never left!
I think the Asian community in general feel proud…cause I know I do.
I’m Vietnamese-American, and I’ve never known about him until now lol. I mean I’ve watched Indiana Jones but never really knew his name & he was just a kid back then.
