Short round and Dana
You call him Dr. Jones doll!
Welcoming Link into the computer club in Encino Man.
The one he was in Indiana Jones and he accidentally spoke in Chinese (see how scare he was) and awesomely the scene still in my mind today.
Loved him as Short Round and Data! So funny and a great actor!!
"Doctor Jones! No time for love!" has had me cracking up since I was a kid growing up in the early 1980s. We actually exchanged letters as kids around the time he as in Indiana Jones and The Goonies. I would write to him from an address I found in the back of Teen Beat magazine (back when celebrities addresses were still given out!) and sincere as he is, he always wrote back in blue ballpoint pen with his own hand. I wish I kept those letters but I was around 9 or 10 so I ultimately lost them. He's a legend and a part of most of our childhoods.
I've loved Ke Huy Quan since his days as Data and Short Round. I'm delighted that he's gained legions of new fans thanks to his role as Waymond Wang.
“Hey lady, you call him Doctor Jones!”
Same. He was always my favourite Goonie. ❤
Not everyone knows who he is. If your 49 like myself you know. Goonies never Die.
@@4getfulness16 😂🤣😂🤣I do. I use that phrase a lot.

Ke Huy Quan is a lock for his supporting actor oscar. I'm gonna go ahead and congratulate him early for his win
This comment aged like fine wine
thank you
Indeed
We knew it was gonna happen
u are bingo dawg
Ke Huy Quan is so honest with his emotions which makes him lovable and his youthful jumps for joy at 51 years old! His gratitude and you could see how much Steven Spielberg & Harrison Ford loves him.
Ke is a legend!! He deserves all the awards and the awesome comeback!! I’m super happy he won. Before the winners were announced I prayed for Brendan, Michelle, Ke and Jamie Lee!!
Perfect score! (Same here)
How can you not love this guy. He's so genuine and pure.
I love Brad Pitt and Keanu Reeves but we needed a hero like Ke Huy Quan.
It's time real people start winning awards and being stars. He was excellent and he won because he's as pure and genuine as his character, Waymond.
He made so many memorable appearances, often standing out from the cast. He is so talented, and his transition to behind camera work demonstrates his extraordinary skill, drive and love of the media, his comeback is inspiring and so well deserved. It touches my heart to see such a wonderful soul.
There are thousands of people like him, everything you said, but poorer than a beggar and suicidal.
@@fromis.9 probably more like millions
If you you grew up in the 80s, you probably have fond memories of Ke Huy, I sure do. I think what's so special is his genuine gratitude, something that is usually missing in Hollywood. Additionally, to see a childhood actor seemingly doing well as an adult 35+ years later is awesome -Far to rare unfortunately. Congrats to Ke Huy Quan!
He got out. The rest were more or less abused or otherwise suffered mentally from the pressures and excesses of the film industry stardom.
even though I didn't grow up in the 80s (Gen Z) my very first impression of him was Goonies. It's impressive that he was able to bounce back after a hiatus!
He deserves this. The winners at the Oscars tonight inspired so many people ❤️
Who?
Waymond’s “in another life” line will never not make me emotional ❤😢
The "still being here" moment was key for me. They both have this humility and respect for each other.
I think anyone who saw Ke Huy Quan as a child where screaming for him to win . He is the antithesis of what Hollywood actors should be himself, real kind . Congratulations Ke from all of us who have loved you as a child but now still love you all grown up .
Very much agree. I thought at that time in his life we'd see more of him but never happened and I bet the movies he could have been in would also be really good. I rooted for him but like they said he just disappeared. But he deserves good fortune and everything he gets.
Being a fellow Viet..., I cried when he won.
@@Legotron he deserves it. He is a genuine guy. Very humble
It's great to see Ke's Hollywood Career is revived again
I'm happy to see him acting again. Missed you, Ke Huy Quan.
That Oscar speech will alway tears me up. I'm so happy for him!
As a Vietnamese, I am really proud of him! Hope Ke Huy Quan will achieve more and more success in the future. He deserves everything!
He’s Chinese, dude.
@@deplorablechump8758 Did u watch the video?
@@duykhanhtrinh9881 He was born in Vietnam but he is Chinese.
he s Chinese, only born in Vietnam
@@nguyengia1401 no, his family is Vietnamese. In Vietnam, we call people living in Vietnam from China "người Hoa". They can speak Vietnamese and have Vietnamese nationality. They are one of us and have all the rights as Vietnamese citizen .
This brings warmth to my heart, Quan's speech was one of the most raw and sincere I've seen in Academy History. We grew up with Huy Quan in Goonies and Indiana Jones and his lovable character put adventure in our hearts. Keep it going Huy Quan.
1. He stopped acting at 23 years old because audition calls for Asian parts became 1-2 per year while his peers would have had 2-4 per week. He finally decided to step away from acting at 23 when he was rejected for a role with only two lines and no name.
2. He just returned to acting because of the success of Crazy Rich Asians. He got a call about this part about weeks after calling an agent and an entertainment lawyer (Jeff Cohen, Chunk in Goonies)
3. He waited for two months to hear from his first audition in 25 years. He was called again for the 2nd audition and finally got the part.
4. He hired acting, voice, body movement, and dialogue coaches to prepare for the role of Waymong Wang.
5. Everything Everywhere All at Once production was halted during the pandemic.
6. He started auditioning (on tapes) while waiting for the movie to come out and did not get a single callback. He again doubted his skill and relived what he went through as a young actor.
I hope this glory will keep going until he cannot read scripts anymore.
YOU CALL HIM OSCAR WINNER KE HUY QUAN, DOLL
Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy, seeing Indiana Jones give such a prestigious award to Short Round didn't not bring tears to my eyes. Well deserved, well earned, and nobody could be more deserving of love and recognition that Ke Huy Quan, and Brendan Fraser. The world feels right today.
❤
@Who is Who? "his cant talk properly." Yeah you can't type properly!
My favorite Ke Huy Quan moments were definitely his roles as Short Round from “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom” and Data from “The Goonies”! He did a really good job as both roles!
“Call him Dr. Jones doll”
Ke Huy Quan really needs to get more film roles in the future!🤩🤩🤩📽
His joy is so genuine. So glad he won a Oscar. Amazing story. Never know ,could make a movie about him
Who's here after his Oscar win?
Me
Not me... I'm here after a recent re-watch of his Oscar win 🙈❤️
Love Ke Huy Quan's role throughout the years!!! Congrats on winning the accolades you richly deserve!!! We definitely need to have a Short Round spinoff!!! 😍😍😍
Agree!!
I'm a HUGE fan of The Goonies, it is a movie from my childhood, so for me he will always be Data. His performance en EEOAA is incredible, so glad he is back, and with an Oscar!
His character of Short Round is the true son of Indiana Jones!!!! I was so upset when I watched Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and they didnt even bring him back. I loved Short Round and it made no sense that such a beloved character wasn't brought back!!! I mean, as a kid I always assumed that Indy would adopt Short Round, but that never happened, so I always wondered what happened to Short Round.
Just that honest and high energy positive attitude he has is so infectious. From childhood to adulthood, that man personifies GOAT status.
As a kid he was an icon of the 80s for me. Short Round and Data are legendary.
Congratulations Data and Short Round!! You just won an Oscar!! Very well deserved!! Goonies never say die!!
*Academy AWARD WINNER KE Huy Quan...Congratulations you beautiful soul!*
I sometimes see the little kid he was back in the 80's but look at him now. All grown up.:):)
I wish he was going to be in the new Indiana Jones, as Short Round, even a tiny little cameo
I am happy to see him back on the big screen.
short round without a doubt! he may have just been a kid at the time but the dynamic he brought to temple of doom made it my favorite indiana jones movie.
I love that Ke thanks Chunk as he's getting an Oscar...AMAZING
I love how Ke still has that happy child like personality.
He still has that recognizable twangy high pitch to his voice he had as a kid.
He is just so pure & wholesome like Brendan Fraser, so happy for them both!
His interaction with Brandon Fraser after they received their Oscars is the definition of a genuine puppy dog joy. Such an incredible man who was able to finds ways to be around what he loved. Then being able to do it after years of rejection. He will definitely be a great addition to the MCU and I will watch as much of him as I can!
His humbleness is amazing way to go Ke Huy Quan
Surely one of the most likable persons. I am so happy for him. And also for Brandon Frasier. What a great comebacks that no one expected.
Ke Huy Quan's Short Round character in Indiana Jones & The Temple of Doom ( 1984 ) , costarring with Harrison Ford , and as the brainy Data in the Goonies ( 1985 ) would be immortalized in Hollywood Legends ... 🌷🌿🌏💜🕊
How can you not love Ke Huy Quan! The man is a burst os positive attitude energy! Jesus...we need more people like him!
Yes, this is why Everybody Loves Waymond, and why everyone loves this talented, enthusiastic, sincerely loving and humble, and all-round wonderful human being, Ke Huy Quan.
This remarkable man better receive an Oscar. He's definitely earned it.
I will always love him and remember him from playing Short-Round in the badass action-adventure film "Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom".
I love Encino Man my daughter has the DVD all I love it I love it I love it you are just an amazing young man ever since you were very on so it's so wonderful to know that you're still doing stuff amen
I love how him and Brendan were in that film and even shared a scene or two, and 31 years later each won an Academy Award on the same night.
I love Ke Huy Quan so much!! He was exceptional in EEAAO & HE WILL WIN THAT BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR OSCAR ✨️🎭✨️🎭
HE DID!!!!!
@@Talessaga2 YAY!!!! His speech was so beautiful!!
Happy for him and Fraser's comeback Ke deserves the best
🥳 *Me too Amina... Both back on the screen and their talent is*
*finally recognized!*
Ke Huy Quan 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 One of the forever Goonies
Harrison Ford: "Are you Short Round?"
Ke Huy Quan: "Yes Indy!"
this made me tear and smile :)=
And now he is an Oscar winner of Best Supporting Actor, along with his co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Jamie Lee Curtis.
He was always a memorable guy but now he’s officially a legend!
His huge talent and humility are amazing!
I love The Goonies on my goodness is one of my favorite movies I did not know that you had made all of these other movies where that you were a part of any such stuff this is amazing I'm learning so much are blessings blessings her
"Hypocrisy is the Vaseline of political intercourse." I was not expecting that but omg am I happy I heard it!
You are up there with then my friend! Even just the few movies you did you'll always will be known. I watched him since he started, going to theaters with my father then my kids and now my grand kids know who you are buddy. Glad your back
Este hombre es ADORABLE.
This man is awesome, his story just hardy ever happens, extremely lucky, and sweet, slowly losing that in this day to day life and Brendan Fraser too
I'm so tickled that you not only mentioned Together We Stand/Nothing Is Easy, you had the promo. I taped every episode off TV back in the day because of Scott Grimes and Ke Huy Quan. Loved that poor, misbegotten little show. It tried.
No1 was his Oscars speech - a real tear-jerker.
He had me at "Hold on to your potatoes!" Missed him for a long time. Glad to see him get the Oscar.
I am so glad that he came back to the big screen. I've always loved him since Indiana Jones: The Temple of Doom. He's so underrated.
1 man gave this years Oscars so much positivity. Also last year, 1 man gave the Oscars so much negativity.
My favorite is short round playing cards and finding indie cheating..his ad libs and facial expression are so perfect for a first time actor with no experience ...he was a natural actor from the very beginning
His voice, UNFORGETTABLE
I can hear it now. "Check it out you guys! My newest invention: Oscar Winners!" *Data blinds the other Goonies with the shine off the Oscar trophy*
Very admirable man. His gratefulness is heartwarming
Just coming back here to see Ke's path to becoming a Oscar winner
I agree with all of these. Even though I wasn't Big on Everything All at once, it was still a good movie.. I hope that we see MORE of him in the future.
It isn’t how you start, it’s how you travel. And now he (and Frazier) are Oscar winners. Just… wow!
He won he won!!! 🏆 ❤❤❤
This man is a inspiration, I love him, Tears come to my eyes with every video I watch of him.
Same here
Ms MOJO you may want to have a part 2 of this because Ke just won the Oscar!! 🤩🥰 🥲🏆👏👏👏
Fraser and Quan; two of the nicest people in Hollywood
That man is so adorable 😍
GOONIE NEVER SAY DIE-Go Ke Huy Quan has talent.
our short round is now a oscar winning actor! i love a good vindication! hollyweird gets so many things wrong, but it got it right now!
Y'all made this list too early. His acceptance speech at the Oscars would definitely be number 1
What a joy to live in a world where we can forevermore say 'Oscar-winning actor Ke Huy Quan'.
When that last Indiana Jones movie came out, I had a little hope that he would show up… I still hope he does.
I definitely remember him from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom!
Dr Jones!!! Dr Jones!
I didn't know he was gonna be in Loki season 2 that's awesome
love his voice, so cute. and amazing fighting skills
He deserves more roles now
That Short Round spinoff idea sure seems enticing now huh? haha that would be an amazing place to bring the Indiana Jones franchise moving forward, with how amazing Ke Huy is, i'd be sure to tune in.
Yes, he deversed an Oscar prize ❤
Weeeeeellll deserved Oscar
Ke will always be my data and shortround! I am so proud and happy for him and has family! The very best in this new adventure's!
His "you call him Dr.Jones, doll!" Is quite memorable for me 😆
Always remembered him in The Goonies and Indiana Jones and the temple of doom. He was in 2 of the most iconic films of the 80's before this one. A great actor, im so happy for him. Oh and i almost forgot , i loved him in this martial arts film he did way back in 1991 called "Breathing Fire".
Nice. I'd love to see that Short Round spin off.
I'm blown away by his renewed fame and deservedly Oscar!
Wow! What a lovable guy! Thank you for this. I never made the Indy-Goonies connection. I only wish more child actors had this success story.
He looks very good for his age! If this comeback sticks he could definitely keep getting various roles.
I know that the John Wick guys have a special affection for stunt professionals. Given that he’s worked as a stunt coordinator, I hope they find him a place in the Wickverse. He’d be great to play off against Winston and Charon.
Won Oscar last night!!!
AS A YOUNG KID HE IS ADORABLE AND OF COURSE TILL AS HE WON 🏆❤HIS OSCAR AMAZING CHILD...LOL,LOL 😆🤣😂
Just commenting to say I really enjoyed this video, you guys did some great deep dives into behind the scene stuff. These types of videos are often all fluff & this had substance & you're obviously fans!
