- I recently took my first trip to Seattle, WA to re-connect with my childhood friends and had to see Kurt Cobain's House! We managed to locate it and got a chance to see where Kurt lived. Such an inspiring trip and a beautiful city.
If your a Nirvana fan like me and your ever in Seattle I recommend taking a look at his place, here is the address:
Kurt Cobain's House
171 Lake Washington Blvd E
Seattle, Washington
98122 USA
_
The Kurt Cobain House, located at 171 E Lake Washington Blvd in Seattle, WA, is a place that holds immense significance for fans of the late rock musician Kurt Cobain. Cobain, the frontman of the iconic grunge band Nirvana, lived in this house during the peak of his music career in the early 1990s. The modest two-story house, also known as the "Lake Washington House," was Cobain's residence where he wrote and recorded some of Nirvana's most famous songs. It has become a pilgrimage site for fans who pay tribute to Cobain's musical legacy and mourn his tragic passing. Despite its private ownership and limited access to the public, the Kurt Cobain House remains a place of pilgrimage for music enthusiasts and a symbol of Cobain's enduring impact on Seattle's music scene and the world of rock music as a whole.
He died in the greenhouse above the Garage. Which Courtney knocked down in 1997. If you look, you can still see the outlining of it. Crazy how he only lived there for 3 months of his life but that's become the Kurt house.
Oh wow I didn't know that he only lived there for 3 months, thats crazy!
It's just the fact that this is where he killed himself that makes it intriguing.

I've got a story. Thanks to nirvana I met my best friend 5 years ago. She's from Tennessee and I'm from Spain, we haven't met in person yet! But in April 5th 2019 she went there. I sent her a letter I wrote to him with my favourite hair tye, she wrote another letter and then she left them together in the right side of the bench with the hair tye. She also wrote something for me in the bench itself. Sadly as far as I can see it's been repainted 💔 but that was definitely one of the most spiritual moments in my life even tho I wasn't there. One day we'll met in person and we'll go together there because we owe it to him. Thank u Kurt 💫
Oh wow that is so cool! Beautiful story, the power of music really does something special. It brings people together like nothing else. Kurt is very special indeed. A blessing to the world.
I've always wanted to do exactly what ya'll shared, but haven't had the chance to visit Seattle yet. More amazingly beautiful of a place there in Kurt's old hood than I'd imagined. I agree with being respectful to the neighbors like you guys were a good example of. Thanks!
It was beautiful, i highly recommend it if you can make time some day. Thanks for your comment.
Thank you guys for sharing. Missing Kurt.
Thank you so much for share! 🙏🏻
I remember that day when he died very clear.Very sad day for me. Later, another sad day for me when Layne died. All grunge singers are on the other side, all my idols as a kid.
Two of both died at april 05.
And Layne's death is so tragic too...
Lots of people forget cuz' same day; That's really sad! Legends never die.
R.I.P Kurt 🕊️ 04. 05. 1994.
R.I.P Layne 🕊️ 04. 05. 2002.
very sad, but we have a chance to spread the love of his good music
Hey! Good documental stuff here. Thanks for sharing!
…
Your words about Kurt are exactly how I felt about Nirvana
They changed my life too
…. There’s nothing more beautiful than two fans and paying respects to Kurt..
i want to visit one day I am in Ny

Thank you for your comment, it's worth a visit if you can make it over here some day.

My pleasure!
Thanks much guys for this share, I miss Kurt too been his fans since my younger days, I'm 13 when he passed and may his soul be rest in peace now! 🙏
I'm a huge fan from the Philippines.
Washington reminds me of a giant nature preserve
Really feels like it. It's beautiful here, like a giant garden.
I think Kurt was saying hi as that leaf on the right at 5:13 fell as you got close.
Oh wow I didn't even notice that until you pointed that out :0 cool !!
, 🐠😊
I heard it!!! I've had an experience with Kurt like this, It's too much to go into but this is just amazing, as is Kurt!!
It’s amazing how you said that the air is very heavy it’s hard to breath.. how you thought you would feel happier to be there but it felt weird - totally get that 🥺💔
Yes it was strange and sad :( a little spooky.
Great video guys.
Thanks Gavin
If it's about Kurt there's gotta be a cigarette immediately lol
ha good point
That’s so sick! There’s also a second house in Seattle before they moved in there. Real dope
footage 🙏
I haven't seen it yet. I'll check it out.
It's 11301 Lakeside Avenue NE Seattle (read it in a book by Everett True). It's for rent. It's about 5,000 per month. When Kurt and Courtney rented it, it was about 2,5 K per month.
Love from Bangladesh
I donno if I'll ever have the luxury to be there and see it
But thanks man
Thank u so much for this
Deep inside i always wanted to live a part of my live moving in to Seattle and know how lives were of Layne and Kurt

Thanks for your comment I hope we can inspire more people
28 Years ago. I am in junior high at that time. Nirvana. RIP Kurt..💐
me too
If I could go there to the front of that house, It would have the same exact effect on me that going to "Graceland" had on my mother! She cried when she got there! I bet I would cry too lol no lie...lots of emotions man....looottttts of emotions.... :/
indeed. it was tough.
Same. He is absolutely my idol. I wana go to Seattle and Aberdeen to look at some of his spots.
It's a really beautiful area around there. I went up there in 2017 with my daughter and loved Seattle. I want to move up there eventually.
Yes it is beautiful here. Iv'e been living here about 8 months now its so refreshing.

I feel like its always raining there which sets the mood in a way, but is also so sad. it was raining the day they took his body out of the house April 8th, 1994
there is something mystical about this place
It’s Seattle. The RAINY city. Of COURSE it was Raining on Friday April 8th.
I'm going to Seattle in a few weeks. I'm planning on possibly driving by his house as well as Layne Staley's condo.
It's well worth it. A very special and strange place.
I am from Aberdeen but not where Kurt was born the one in Scotland. I have seen so many photos of the house over the years so was strange to see it now and not how I imagined it but thanks for the video and it was nice how respectful you were to the present owner, I wonder if they knew the history of the house when they bought it
Thanks for your comment, yes is a strange neighborhood. It's a good question, I wouldn't want to live there. The house has a cold feeling around it. Hard to explain unless your are there in person.
My generation! I will never forget what I was doing when I was told he just died
What were you doing?
I was only two when he died I’m the same age as his daughter … my brother is 8 years older than me so he got me into nirvana .. Kurt and I also have the same birthday .. many years apart

Yea. Wish he was still here. He said he wanted to be an old man song writer like Johnny Cash.
If you go up the steps to the back of the park you can get a better view of the house
Ohh I didn’t know that. I’ll do that. Thank you.
Thank you so much I was just listening to Nirvana this morning every time I listen to Nirvana I always feel so emotional the fact that he had such a lethal dose of age in his system has always spoke to me there was no way he could have done that to himself with such a lethal dose anyways God rest his soul I pray they opened the case at 1 day to get Justice it was obvious it was set up
Beautiful place
Yes it is
Aw..Your mate is so cool. I love moss too! Got his sensibilities right.
He’s a genuis. Sees the reasons for stuff. Yea.Kurt was Anti establishment, Anti Capitalist. Against everything his business wanted from him. He just wanted to be normal, make music and not make money from an image.
“Hard to breathe” cause someone died there. It’s heavy. And dark.
It is a blessing just watching you two. You are lovely people. Kurt was light in the dark.

just went there yesterday!
cool how was it looking, are you from Seattle ?
@@ericdavidwallace Yes I live downtown so I decided to go and carve my name in the wall. Looks pretty well kept although there was a homeless guy living outside under a tree. Which was strange due to lack of privacy.
cool its's a special and strange place Kurt has made a connection to me somehow over the years, when i was young I listened to Nirvana and then forgot about them for many years - it strange how i am here now for music and have reunited with Nirvana and Kurt once again@@north.studios

I'd love to go inside the actual house. I know it's weird, but I would.
I suppose the current owners would get all uppity, though, acting like they fricken OWN the place... Dicks.
just kidding. Thanks for the video.

Yes. Thank you
Of course she had it demolished.
I just watched this documentary on UA-cam for the first time the other night - Kurt Cobain’s Death: What REALLY Happened? | Soaked In Bleach | Amplified. Take a look if you haven't seen it, it was very shocking.
@@ericdavidwallace so you watched and fell for the conspiracy theory documentary even the people who appear in have denounced as bullshit? Kurt killed himself. let the man rest in peace. these dumb conspiracy theories do nothing but take away from a conversation we all should be having about the deadly combination of drug abuse and depression.
@@califtom I watched it but I don't know what to believe because I wasn't there. I do miss Kurt and wish he was still here with us. And I agree with you the deadly combination of drug abuse and depression is something we all need to be more mindful about in general.
@@ericdavidwallace the claims in the film have been debunked repeatedly and denounced by the experts in the film such as Carol Chaski who literally all believe Kurt committed suicide.
@@califtom ahhahahaaaa...
What complete and total BS.
Wasn’t it where that bench is.. is where Courtney sat and was talking to fans?
not sure, where/when did you see that?
I like his childhood house. Its smaller, modest and cozy. and was the house that gave the artist to the world. That seattle mansion only gave us kurts dead body. As a nirvana fan you should never go there.
28 years today

It's crazy to think that blonde fresh faced cutie who joined the 'club 27' would be in his mind 50's!
Btw I'm from the U.K....... Why do all videos in Seattle seem so gloomy? Does it only rain there? 😂.
Yes it is crazy wish he was still here. No! Seattle is actually sunny today and lots of days during the year. The weather here changes daily. It is more misty than rainy. I love it!
That was a raw cone in the jack o lanterns mouth lol
Ha just noticed that, thank you for the observation
Kurt would have hated you posers.
What causes this thick air, there? Is it Kurt?!
partially
Seriously, who farted?
Wow I literally drive by his house on that road every single day, I always get a kick out of people traveling here and vlogging they all literally make the same video to the t, for some reason you people never get tired of the same shit
That's true, we never tired of watching videos like this. But that's not bad at all.🎸
You should honestly changed the name of the video to "Kurt Cobain's Driveway" and call it a day on your UA-cam career.

Doesn't it seem fishy that they had to tear down the greenhouse where it happened? There are TOO many strange things about it, such as the shell ejecting the wrong way...too many.
It is strange. slightly eerie
They didn't have to, they just did ..
get lost conspiracy theory creep. why would anyone want a memorial to their husbands suicide staring them in the face every day?
Courtney had it demolished. Hmm. Probably so they couldn't go back and reexamine the evidence.
