Honestly, Boris' dad being so calm probably single handedly saved Boris' cooking career...
Little Boris didn't technically do anything wrong (other than touch the no no stove) and tried his best to cook without any reference. Good dad moment.
Little Boris had good damage control too.
Food is food, you not just throw it away. Not until absolutely sure it not food anymore.
I think Boris being very honest about it also saved his bum from mild spanking. Parents don't mind you make mistakes, they absolutely LOATHE if you lie to cover it.
@@Alpha.Phenix You kidding me? food is food even if its not food anymore in the soviet union.

This was pretty wholesome. Papa Boris being so chill about Smol Boris cub cooking some eggs, eating the half-burnt egg made by his offspring AND then cooking some eggs for Mama Boris and Smol Boris, seems like he is/was a cool slav.
Boris cub-?
I love how Papa didn't snap at Little Boris for using the stove and teach him to make pancakes. That's really sweet.
its call being a good dad for seeing his little boy slowly becoming a man
We stan good dads in this household
I like to imagine Boris was born with an Ushanka and Balaclava on his head and nobody ever thought twice about it.
😂
“Yes father! I have made the egg, I have applied heat to the chicken produce with the objection of consumption!”
This got me laughing, I won’t lie

That's the best line ever!
8 yo boris was a chad
DAVAI
It just sounds like the drunkish child rants and tirades that they go on from time to time.
The way he says it I’m surprised he didn’t start crying with laughter lol. My eyes where watering up badly 😂
I started tearing up listening to how calm and understanding papa Boris was. He understood that he was just trying to figure out how things work, like frying an egg, and didn't get upset or frustrated, only supporting his son.... I think I have daddy issues
Youre not alone
Im the complete opposite, matricide is on my mind.
YoU fIAliUrE!!!
I love that your Dad was like "well shit ya almost had it."
I wonder if he was proud of him, of course I'd tell him that he was lucky and he shouldn't use the stove without supervision- But overall I'd be proud he (almost) cooked an egg all by himself.
The fact that Papa Slav ate Boris' literal first cooking is heartwarming to hear
Fr
I was kinda expecting him to give it to small Boris when it was cooked properly loll
Can we have more stories like this? A very wholesome story, papa said "he wants to cook? Teach the young boy"
The fact your dad ate the burnt egg and gave you and your mom a freshly made one speaks really high of him.
Love the story time videos, keep up the great work!
real G, unit of a Man ya dig?

Papa Boris returns with another story time video. Now I can fall asleep full gopnik.
I would just like to say I love your name and your sus pfp
that profile picture is awful.
I love these animated childhood stories. Thank you for sharing them with us.
Your papa sounds like a good father. More stories like this, please.
Papa Slav eating Boris' mishap is adorable, and also considering Boris' hunger, quite savage.
@LifeofBoris________ Boris would never speak in such a perfect English, you are spy blin
Lmao yesss
That was his punishment. Instead of beating or long conversation, just eat his failed meal in front of him
But then cook him meal too
I love these animations
same i love every Boris video
Me too !!
teaching you to cook is probably one of your parents' most cherished memories
technically he taught himself to cook at first lol.
Papa Boris killin' that parenting thing with the "you forgot the oil" response. Even though some of the stories make me feel some anxiety as a *parent*, I absolutely did these things as a GenX kid and thought nothing of it. Here's to independent children (may they all stay out of harm's way as they explore).
I'm Gen Z and I had a slight mishap with some eggs one time whilst attempting to make my parents breakfast... some things just never change.
i too tried to make scrambled egg wihtout oil
And you can see papa boris is a real man as he eaten the "failed" product while he made good ones for his wife and kid.
It really was such a father thing to say.
@@josesun2402 You're exactly right!
See, while I’ve heard some variations of the “parents weren’t home, so I cooked for myself” story before, what I *haven’t* heard before was said parents salvaging the damaged meal.
Glorious.
What a delightful story. Big up to Papa and Mama Boris for not crushing your newly-found love of cooking.
Baby Boris attempting to explain his culinary endeavors is exactly like a kid trying to use every bit of his vocabulary to sound smart and grown up.
This reminds me of when my best friend and I were left to our own devices to make dessert. My best friend and I were neighbors, so they were over all the time for dinner-- that day, *something* had gone wrong with dinner that prompted the rest of the family to go get take out, leaving just the two of us to make one of those boxed brownie mixes. We were really careful, checking the directions at every single step. By the time the rest of the family was back with dinner, dessert was finished, so we proudly took it out and let it cool. We have dinner, then my mom goes to cut a brownie out of the pan with a spatula and it's... chocolate soup. The best feiend and I are flummoxed, until my brother points to something on the counter. A single egg. Somehow, we checked the directions half a dozen times and completely forgot the egg.
My husband's Dad tried to make a cake using a blender and a box mix for David and his brother. We don't know if it was the blender or the mix was old, but it didn't rise. So he made several layers baking a couple at a time and sandwiched them, warm with frosting and many toothpicks to hold them together. Kinda Leaning Tower of Cake thingy.
I once baked a box mix cake, which came out well, but I left it in the turned-off oven to cool 🤦♂️. After dinner, I brought out the cake, which had dried & shrunk in height into a cake-shaped cookie.
My dad first taught me knife safety when I was three, and I had my own little full-stainless pairing knife that I got to use at the cutting board every time raw chicken needed to be cut up. I also had my own little step-stool to bring me up to a safe height. Still have that little pairing knife, but sadly not my dad. Hopefully he can see the kind of cook I am today, partially thanks to him.
Amen..my friend
You said you were cutting chicken, goddammit, not onions
You had good parents, Boris. They saw that you were not goofing off & you lit the stove correctly.
My first cooking experience was at age 12. Both parents were at work, and my younger brother and I were off school & hungry. I called my mother and she described how to cook the egg.
That was extremely wholesome, in most cases, that story would end with: "I lied to my parents, and three weeks later, no-one could figure out where smell of rotten eggs was coming from."
Your parents were good parents, and Boris was good boy.
A better cooking story than most Gordon Ramsay stuff
Can someone put Gordon voice to his dad? YOU FOOKIN DONKEE style
Gordon Ramsay annoys me. He always asks for things that he knows are not possible for budget restaurants. Like ordering a blue rare steak from a restaurant that cooks frozen steaks. Like no shit it's going to be frozen in the middle. You're not going to get a good blue rare steak from frozen in 20 minutes. He surely knows it's not possible, but he's banking on his viewers not knowing shit about cooking. Another thing that drives me up a wall is he always complains the display pastries that nobody will ever eat are stale.
@@Rob_Enhoud from what i can remember he dose not want to do budget stuff because he eaten spam SO many time he get sick seeing the thing, given that his family was a drug house its not shocking he eaten nothing but spam, white bread, and eggs so many times that he just felt like not doing them at all.
@@zsewqthewolf1194 That still doesn't justify him wanting a budget eatery to be a fucking 5-star restaurant like Rob said.
@@Cr4z3d am just saying is Gordon Ramsay don’t want to do it he won’t and the other way too, but as the free market say “pay what you want you have freedom to choose in life!”
You were a very brave to use a gas stove all by yourself - old style without even a self-igniter! I'm glad you are doing more storytime animations, and can't wait for stories about Smol Boris at Babushka's house! 💖
@ianvisser7899 I had forgotten about the "push in and turn" aspect of self-igniters. Hesitantly used my mother's gas stove less than a dozen times, and have never touched one again. The "foomph" of gas igniting still unnerves me. Happily learned to cook on Grandmother's electric stove instead. Wish I had it now, her old GE was a magnificent reliable beast.
Boris should pin this.
Boris spinning like that egg xaxa! :D Good way to test it actually!
Dad realized boris had a knack for cooking and instead of discouraging through punishment, decided to encourage.
The storytime animation videos have always been my fav tbh

Boris's dad seems extremely chill.
Papa Boris did good. Explained what went wrong, demonstrated how to do it right, ate the "failed" egg so you didn't have to, and made a good egg for you and mama Boris anyway.
It’s hard to imagine Boris ruining something he cooked
Thats actually a really wholesome story. I wish I had parents like that.
Ngl the little Boris animation looks so cute
Absolutely wholesome. I love hearing this kind of stuff from UA-camrs, makes them seem more human. not just a voice or balaclava on a screen.
Let us never speak of his bacalava again.
Ha ha, love the fact you hid the egg into the cupboard. Kids have such a way of solving problems. :-D
'Where mama kept the old soviet style meat grinder'
So she kept stalingrad under the kitchen sink? Impressive
Your dad is a gentle giant.
No taking the pan and smashing. No making you starve for wasting an egg. No whatever a dad that could have been angry would do.
Not only was this story incredibly wholesome. But this brings a deep feeling of old times for me when I was homeless and lived part time with my grandparents. Grandma would always have me come join her in the kitchen to learn basic cooking skills. Makes me miss my Grandma and Grandpa dearly. Thank you, brother, for reminding me of fond memories. May the best things come your way and hope to see more stories/videos.
the 8 years of Easter experience quote reeally hit some relatable experiences with eggs.....
Even at eight, Boris was showing off his true Slavic nature
Thats such a good and adorable story

Having grown up in the post-soviet country, so much stuff is relatable to me. Gray apartment blocdgks and the cigarette smell inside, crappy roads and cars parked everywhere, I can go on forever.
I remember feeling so proud of myself when I made my first dish, a buterbrod on a gray bread and some sausage on top. Looking forward to seeing more animations from you!
What is gray bread? Half white flour and half whole-grain?
help I love how your papa was so forgiving with your fried egg dish, not knowing that smol Boris will turn into great slav end-of-month cooking superstar 😭😭😭😭
This is the cutest. I love kid logic of "if I hide the evidence, I can't get in trouble" then they put it in the most ridiculous locations.
Your animation has improved even more since last time, and that wasn't that long ago! Good job
Boris, please know that your content is very welcome, and myself and my friends are very glad that you have not given up on your creative side. I've been watching you since 2016, so please -- keep it up, and know that you're very appreciated. Cheers!
I'm SO happy to see Boris doing videos again! I came back to the channel after a while and these videos always give me joy :') thank you Shashlik King Boris!
That was a very wholesome story, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Didn't expect this much wholesomeness from a video about a kid trying to fry egg for the first time. (Papa Boris is the man)
Storytime with boris is the best and the happiest thing I've seen in a long time. Boris' papa's reaction is the reaction from a parent that everyone loves, his mother's on the other hand is the one we usually get 😂.
Omg! I can just see a mini Boris in his wee ushanka. Whozza cutsie-wootsie den?!
Я уже видел какая эта анимация хорошая по рисунку Бориса, но когда я увидел как он идёт по улице с фонарями... Я влюбился
Boris cooking career started here
In the 4 years I've watched Boris only last night while wearing weslav chernobyl hoodie did I finally meet a fellow comrade
This story is somehow heart warming.
I love the way little animated boris salutes papa
I lived close enough to my school that I was allowed to walk home for lunch. I remember how proud I was that I could heat up a can of soup on the stove by myself or make tuna salad sandwiches. Sometimes I made pizza bagels in the toaster oven with leftover spaghetti sauce and parmesan cheese.
My wife loves these stories. Please keep it up!
Thank you for the laugh to distract my anxiety, Boris. Much needed today
I watched the video when it dropped and liked it, but somehow I didn't comment.
Boris, your animation style is quite good and your storytelling ability is spot on! If you decide to do more of these, I won't be disappointed. If you decide to never do these again, I won't be disappointed. It's YOUR channel and I love it.
✌️😎🇺🇸🍻
That's a cool dad move right there, cooks the half-burnt half-raw egg then eats it and served his family a better one
We stan a wholesome dad
I like this new Boris just as much as 2016 Boris, a new Golden age for him might mean a new Golden age for the world you gave me hope, thank you
I love these stories. You must have really kept your parents on their toes, Boris.
Boris is the best storytime animator on youtube, change my mind.
Nothing better than learning young, I think I may have been younger still when my Mother started me baking (she'd been a Nanny for a Cookbook author so was no end of recipes to try), while it's far from my passion I can cook stuff well when I need to so I will be ever thankful for it.
Adorable and Funny, we all start somewhere when we're cooking something for us
I'm glad everything turned out well. House did not burn to ground, food did not go to waste and Boris did not starve. Complete success!
Well, that was better than my first attempt at cooking. The fire department showed up! Rock on, Boris! (From a 60 year old guy in Texas)
Boris is becoming a storytime animator what a time to be alive :)
Boris story time is so wholesome 😊
The first time I tried to fry fish (I was about 5 or 6), I dropped the whole container of white pepper on the fish by accident. It was pretty difficult to salvage, even for my mom. Since then I have been very careful about my use of white pepper 😅
Damn his animation has really fucking improved since he was in hospital and did it for the first time. Practice does indeed make perfect, and I would love more stories about young Boris to be animated.
Remembering the child's logic makes this so relatable. Also how when you lack experience and confidence, you make silly mistakes from half remembering things and lazyness to check.
I remember when I put too much baking powder to a cake. it was so wonderfully risen, but it tasted like soap :' (
4 teaspoons baking powder and 2 spoons of baking soda actually, God what was I thinking??
That was absolutely sweet and cute how your parents fostered your newfound interest.
It isn't just any newfound interest, blin. As we say, if you want to eat, cook something, if you want to eat with no effort, teach your kids to cook.
This is so nice. Reminds me of my days as a young child.
This was a wicked wholesome story. Thank you for sharing, Boris. I laughed so hard at this.
Another lovely childhood story yet again boris!
This is still my favorite story to listen to. I come back to it time to time. Thank you for sharing and animating, Boris.
That was an awesome story. Glad your parents didn't get mad but instead showed you how to make it right.
I think many times parents just yell at their kids and scare them away from learning new things in a situation like this.
Culinary masterpiece
Words cannot describe how much I find smol Boris (also adult Boris) so endearing and wholesome
i wholeheartedly 100% agree, so wholesome i could cry
Boris: "Oh no, I burned the egg. Can't eat it now"
Boris' Dad: "You coward. Gimme that egg"
This made me realize i actually don't even remember what my first cooking experience was, aside from helping parents/grandparents a bit in the kitchen, but it would have been around age 9 or 10. It would have been sooner, but grandma was adamant that mom not let me or my brother even use the microwave unsupervised. She was, as i found out years later, a bit furious when she found out mom had started letting me and my brother have a bit of independence in the kitchen. She was aghast that we were, in her words 'raising ourselves' (she got over it eventually)
I NEED MORE OF THISSS
These animations are always super cute and the story was very heartwarming! Thank you Boris for the hard work!
That's every slav boy story ever. Except in my case I destroyed about 8 eggs, before getting something decent. Every time forgetting something else. Mother was not happy.

"I will get sick from raw egg"
Гоголь-Моголь: Am I a joke to you?
I adored this story. I think the first thing I ever attempted to cook by myself (with no adult supervision as well) was ramen, and I was confused why the water never got to boiling xD
I can just imagine the feeling of papa frying that egg and then having to watch him eat it like WTF
how does this only get ~50k views? this is really good and enjoyable. the animation is nice and the way boris tells the story is very good! keep it up boris
Boris had to burn half of the egg to start journey of cooking
