Awesome review. I have been shopping hard for a new residential grade splitter. I torn at this point between this champion unit and the country line 25 ton. Any words of wisdom??
Since you posted this 8 months ago, I say go with the Champion. I did after watching tons of videos on size, power, and most importantly (for me anyway) the spot where you stand when splitting horizontally. There is PLENTY of room between your right leg and the tire to comfortably stand and split. Most of the other splitters, you had to straddle the tire and would hit your shins, trip or just be uncomfortable. Also this splitter has split anything I threw at it. Great little splitter for the price point.
@@joeganusi8522 Good call. I purchased the Champion 27 ton splitter from Home Depot unassembled still in the crate. Put it together all by myself to be sure o-rings and hoses were where they were supposed to be. I have split racks of oak and pecan like hot butter. I used the wood from the shipping crate to build a nice solid table that sits perfectly over the motor unit protecting it from any stray rounds. Best money spent. Thank you for the follow up!!
The first trailer of this tree was green wood at the base of this oak. Big 2 and 3 foot diameter pieces. I watched it press the moisture out as the wedge went into the stumps to split them. You should be golden. I'm loving it.

@@rogerknight2267 I did the same. Didn't trust the "assemblers" from HD. Was a piece of cake and I have piece of mind. Happy splitting!
Was wondering about fresh cut...Thanks..pickn up mine next week

New to your channel, I have the same log splitter, it runs like a champ.
I love it. First pull even in the cold drizzly days
I really appreciate this video. Thank you
Keep an eye on where the cutting blade bolts to the ram. That's the weak point.
How do you turn it off? emergency turn off switch or turning the gas off and waiting until it shuts off?
It has a red Off switch near the choke and on/off has lever. No “on” switch.
If you’re not going to use it for awhile turn off gas and let run until it quits.
Can I tow this with my ride on lawnmower?
Yes, has 2” hitch. Just don’t go over 45 mph.
