Hi, thanks for the comment. This was a perfect storm in situations. I was using a 9’ kayak as a test run for a company I was working for. It was taking all my core strength to keep the sting ray from flipping me. I was tired from the fight and he was showing no sign of weakening. Believe me it was not an easy decision to cut him loose. Lessons learned... even though you can surf launch and use a 9’ kayak, do not under any circumstances try to land. very large fish from it as you will bear the full brunt of the fight instead of allowing the yak to tire fish out. Tight lines.
This is a great example of a big fish in choppy waters with this Kayak! I am looking for a small and light Kayak so this may be the ticket!
