It's a racing gearbox, not exactly made to be driven on highway. With fully stripped interior except dashboard, it is not possible to talk inside without screaming. :) Gearbox is RWD. Maybe in FWD or 4x4 like Evo 6-9 it'll be more quiet because of gearbox position, but I don't think so.
If you want it to be quiet you have to mount it like a factory box with rubber engine, transmission and differential mounts all rubber. Even have the rubber driveshaft gueebo joint. Put one layer of MLV on the floor of the car 2lb version and It will be as quiet as stock with interior. It will have more vibration though even if it is as quiet as stock. And like he said it needs service often. 2dn strongest box out there! 1st for the price $$
@@DhirC35 if you look up ken gushi's is300 you can hear for yourself. It has a samsonas sequential with rubber mounts and full interior, he daily drives it.
I have manual one. From my thrashed manual gearbox. Auto bellhousing is shorter, so I have no idea where your gear lever will be. In manual bellhousing it sits in OEM place.
asmo6667 awesome, that was my next question, how’s it holding up so far and do you think it’s a good trans for serious highway racing... if geared correctly?
@@cslavin4643 it is a racing gearbox. You should remember, that depending of abuse level, it should be regularly serviced - like 1000-2000 km interval. Beside that, it is the best choice :) oh, and its f*king noisy as hell, but in a racing car I don't care :)
Yes and no. When going slowly it is smoother gear change to touch the clutch before shifting. On track - no clutch, just small gas pedal lift when changing gears.
How loud is the gear noise in person? Can you have a conversation when on the highway just driving normally? And does it interfere with engine sound?

@@DhirC35 I have no experience in that. Possibly a little bit quiet, but I'm not sure...

Quick question…manual bell housing or auto bell housing?thanks
I have manual one. From my thrashed manual gearbox. Auto bellhousing is shorter, so I have no idea where your gear lever will be. In manual bellhousing it sits in OEM place.
Can you no clutch shift this transmission?
Yep. Of course. Just take off the load from gear and pop next one.
@@asmo6667 so shift as soon as you let off the gas?
@@Ixleros yep. That's right.
is it possible to change gear smoothly in low speed? thx
Yes it is. You just need to be very quick during gear change. Then it slams a little less. :)
Was it worth the money
Yep, definitely the best solution for gearbox problems. Light, durable, better than all the OEM gearboxes all together :D

@asmo6667 can this be used with a strain gauge to initiate a ignition cut to get it into gear without lifting off throttle?
