Hey Brian thanks for the videos. I just like the real farming especially when you guys are struggling on certain things it just shows people what farmers go through. Thank you very much.
Morning the Fendt is doing a dang good job in the down corn. Brian I respect you showing the good bad and ugly . Most guys wouldn't dare show all the mishaps.
glad your wearing a safety harness. what you have said about seeing your elders doing the work when you can yourself makes total sense. be safe from the uk
The munitions plant by me was 13,000 acres when built in 1940. They moved several families, 1 town, and 2 cemeteries ( including my great, great grandfather). KOP Kingsbury Ordinance Plant, cool place. There were 75 such plants around the country in WWII.
I think its time for farmers with grain bins to prioritize getting a 4 wheel telescopic man lift. I know they make some that go nearly 80-100 ft in the air. I'm sure they are pricy, however with all the equipment and Vehicles that stay parked more than they get used. The man lift to me, is a must have for yalls safety. Stay safe!!
One thing I’ve noticed about the grain bins on a few of the farming channels that I follow is safety climbing cables and safety tie offs don’t seem to exist. Even the new bins are lacking in what I would consider basic safety equipment. Falls happen fast and it’s definitely not like the movies where there’s always something to grab at the last second.
With the history of that field you should get a couple metal detectors and check it out with your kids. I bet there is some really neat relics out there.
We had the same issue after major storm flattened our corn, ear drops everywhere. Was so glad to chisel plow the fields so we didn’t have to see all the ears on the ground. That corn head is impressive!
@@BriansFarmingVideos HECK THE LARSON'S IN MN PLUGGED THE GRAIN SYSTEM SO BAD IT TOOK THEM THE WHOLE DAY TO GET IT UNPLUGGED AND IT WAS SOYBEANS AND IT WAS RAINING WHEN THEY UNPLUGGED IT AND THEN THE SOYBEANS SWOLLENED UP IN THE SEMI TRUCK WHAT A MESS
We had down corn like that years ago...we found taking one less row, 11 in your case really helped to get those stocks that break off or are leaning wrong and get missed by the stout on the previous pass
Great Video Brian, A good way to spend a Sunday, a mixed day, a couple of breakdowns (the grain leg and the corn head) and a little rain and Lightning, Thanks for sharing
It looks like the corn is laying down on the job this year. maybe get Kayla and the kids out in the field picking up ears into a wagon or skid steer bucket.
Maybe a thick wire fishtape, like used to fish wiring through walls, pushed up the tube and worked around may break it free. The next tube plugging anyway.
Good ta see ya a more relaxed big fella. Love Kayla's and ya dads patience is infectious so don't be afraid to catch it. 😂😂.from ol William in Australia 🇦🇺
A neighbour has cut corn before a few time in bad conditions with the sickle header and took the lot in, always did a good job, but slower forward speed but wide cut, surprisingly quick
Had a tour of a munitions plant in Oklahoma. Pretty boring. Just a room with two doors and a tube coming down from the ceiling. A forklift would bring a pallet of two shells in the room that would be filled with the tube coming down from the ceiling. The other door would open and a fork life would take the pallet out. I asked if anything exciting ever happened. Our tour guide said that a couple weeks ago a new fork lift driver dumped over a couple of filled shells, jumped off the fork life and started running. An older employee shouted at him, "If you are running, they didn't go off".
Harness is worthless if there is no place to tie off. Farm grain systems are terrible because you are usually at the high point with nothing but maybe a piece of 1x1x1/4 angle iron near your feet to tie to. Safety is a very low priority when systems are designed and was not considered at all years ago.
Brian, a tip for you, net time one goes on top of a bin, take a long rope with you, that reaches the grond. If you need a tool they can tie it on,and you taken it in. Succes
Good on ya for the harness,But as it’s said a little knowledge is sometimes worse than none. Check out out a couple of videos. Sala, my favorite, as they have “Self-Savers” that worked for me. Fortunately, I had taken a class, joked around, made fun, you know, never happen to me thing. It did. A harness itself is a dangerous thing.
Look into how they design fireworks manufacturing plants for those responsible display firms. Everything is spread out to isolate and then very localized for a single operation so if an accident occurs, there may only be one or two unfortunates, not the whole plant. I saw a PBS documentary (an Italian firm I believe). They had previously had an issue and learned their lesson.
They still disassemble shells in those small buildings at old ammo plants., they are a little safer now as they watch the process with a tv camera from the other side of the wall.

Not having much luck this time my friend specially with that combined the old one was never as much trouble but these things come to try us all hopefully things get better for your 2024 harvest yes red and black don't mix but you can see it in that corn good luck you will need it this season everyone else is In the same boat and it's sprung a leek and slowly sinking 🤞it gets better 👌
well good for you guys getting along, but also the deal about saying your dad needs to retire- well old farmers don't give up easy and they shouldn't - they survived good yrs and bad yrs and still are around - but also that running equipment stuff happens just part of it - you just repair what you can and go on , and of course hine sight is a bit'd sometimes
Brian, after loading the bins, blow off tyhe top toof area blowing off all the dust, because it collects moisture and will rust the galvanized steel, thus shortening the life of the grain bin !
How much of your corn is on the ground? One year we had corn down really bad and some guys took the bean head out with row fingers on but it still went slow as way too much trash going through the combine. Say those tub tires, are they hard to hang over the edge of a ditch like we use to hang a dual over the edge? Once you bend something you always ask why didn't they make it a little heavier.
I have a silly question. If you are currently harvesting down crop , why wouldn’t use the flex head. Shave the ground and get the majority of the crop.
Brian I really liked what you said about watching someone you love climb on top of the bins or handle it your self. You are a good son.

when i see how poor deeres x9 machines are doing reliability wise i say he got the better "ground up new design" machine with that fendt
Great to see you guys make time to for your kids and grandkids. Small things are big things for the kids 🤙
Hope you have a great day

Nice to see the Fendt is working well other than for excavating and logging. Excellent

Brian you should see if The Fat Electrician can run the history on bomb building during world War Two.
Best history teacher ever. 🇺🇸
All respect to you. The definition of brave is being scared and still do it.
Still painful at least after watching you guys my days go a lot better!

Awesome video guys. thank you so much
Kayla in the harness,up on the bin would be utube gold my friend! Hahaha 😂. I'm impressed with the corn head getting the down corn up.

BJ screwed up again, letting one of the pipes on the grain bin system get clogged. Lol
He was dumping the truck that plugged it

Interesting tactic.... another laugh.
We think the same about the sundays, thanks and greetings from a Dutch dairyfarmer
Desperate times call for desperate measures. Might call a tree service with a big bucket truck to help with clearing that feed pipe.
I like your work, family life balance 👏🏻
Awesome Video and Much Love as Always, Brian!!!
You know Mrs Brown would make a good backup driver
Love the farming g videos thanks for what you do

Can't beleive Brian didn't get the stick out of way before bendind snoot and knocking chain off.😂 Always grain cart drivers fault. 😂😂
Brian, you are brave! But your family is very blessed to have you!😮
When I was farming every thing I saw in this video brought back a ton of memories 😅so good and some where I said a lot of bad words 😅
thats what we called them here in pittsburgh the BUNGLES🤣🤣🤣
How did we ever pick corn like that before the days of auto steer and header height control? Brings back bad memories.
Keep up the good work. If you didn't break stuff you couldn't say you were working.
A Concrete Vibrator works Great hold it on outside of pipe!
Maybe a thick wire fishtape, like used to fish wiring through walls, pushed up the tube and worked around may break it free. The next tube plugging anyway.
Sure glad to see you with the safety harness!! Hope you all stay safe this fall !!
Great job guys keep up the hard work!
Sweep every load. That crushed up corn will cause blockages in your grain system…
I agree! Driving over the corn is not what I would be doing!
respect, I feel the same way about Heights.
Another decent day of harvest . Have a great week and stay safe.
Good work, I do enjoy your content.
when your on the ground it don't look that bad looking up, but when your up there it feels different the grain legs and bins need little elevators lol
I just realized after all these years I no longer need the CC to understand dad!!! lol
Seek medical help 🤣

Since the corn is out of the field, let Bob hit it with the D8, just for fun

While that Fendt is cool and all, I still think those two Claas machines was the way to go.
It would be nice if you could turn some cattle in there.

I will say it again Bob is a great dad and grandpa.
I’ve been wearing harnesses for years. I understand that they serve a purpose but honestly most of the time they do more bad than good 😳
About fell today from stepping on my rope lol
The cheap ones are a PITA. One that’s almost comfortable costs a few hunnert bucks.

Did I see a hopper left open in the blue truck by the bins😅 I've done it myself.
I saw that also, grain cart drivers fault 🤔😅
Geringhoff head is doing a good job in the down corn.
And to finish off the day. ..the pile under the hopper of the tarped trailer...dangit BJ !

Congratulations on the 175k
Family first! Great work!
Would have paid to see Kayla climb that corn bin
was anyone else wondering why brian was wearing lavernes shirt and hat lmao
That’s a Londonderry Baseball shirt and hat. Team my kid plays for and I’m one of the coaches
Crazy what a couple hundred miles does to weather.. western kentucky here and having above average yields
I noticed the pile of corn under the trailer at the end of the video

You need to take some safety classes, I don’t think what you tied to will do much good lol 😂
Work on Sunday, repair on Monday. I believe this is the second break down (accident) on Sunday this year.

Drain snake or eel works pretty good for those clogs
Thanks
22:36 seemed like there was a bunch of corn under the blue truck with the black trailer like it is open to dump.
Your intro music is back
One of these days yall will have a smooth day lol
Have you tried unplugging harvest '24 and plugging it back in?
Without that combine auger trucked, I'd worry about hitting something for how long that thing sticks out the back end too.
the moveable spout on end of auger on combine would help - IH and i think new holland has them

OMG! I used to design grain elevator and fertilizer storage systems.....that is one dumba$$ place for an access point....geez louise!
It's not the fall that kills you It's sudden stop at the bottom I wear a harness over 20 feet
deer corn, and pheasants
22:37. Ummm is that the grain cart driver or truck drivers fault 🤔🤔🤔🤣
👍👍✌️
Good mornin'
You guys need a tool drone!
Case also doesn’t build a folding corn head. So there’s that.
I’m surprised they don’t have a no dig zone on your land considering what might be buried and hiding 😂
Do you miss the Gleaner?
Hi Bob and Kayla! Have a nice day!
No Brian your correct, they truly are the Bungels this year
